HELP - I've lost all my Calendar data, most of my Notes, and other issues
In priority order:
1. Sometime in the last two days my iPhone 4S, with IOS 7.0.4, lost all my Calendar data except birthdays from Contacts.
2. Most of my Notes are lost except those from PC.
WRT the above, iPad data is still intact.
3. IOS 7.0.4 crashes apps A LOT! Even Apple apps.
4. IOS 7.0.4 is slow.
Resolved items 1 & 2 by rebooting the phone. I am happy that it resolved, but it shouldn't have happened n the first place.

Calendar won't sync across devices and other issues
Hello all,
I am running latest versions of IOS 8 on IPAD Air2, iPhone5S and latest Yosemite on IMAC intel last year model.
There are few issues here....
In Mavericks when I edited an event in calendars it would show up almost immediately on my phone. No more. In Yosemite I would edit an event and it seems like a 50/50 chance it would RETAIN in the Yosemite calendar. And if it does, it does no sync across devices. This is a pain in my ***.
Second issue is when I use the 'shutdown' feature top left corner of OS X, the unit would begin to shut down then the spinning logo would keep spinning and unit would never shut down. The energy saver would take effect. I come from work thinking it was shut down, press the power button on back and the unit 'wakes' and continues with spinning shutdown logo.
Third issue, my iPhone randomly asks for the iCloud password, even though it is enable across all of my three devices.
Other than these issues I love Yosemite and IOS 8, but these are really kicking me from behind.

ThanksOK, are you sure the events you are adding are added to an icloud calendar, only iCloud calendars will sync. Tap the calendar button to make sure all your calendars are iCloud calendars. Are changes making it to iCloud.com

Hi There
I hope someone can help me. I have lots of calendars on my mac that I used to use for work and home. A friend suggested moving them to icloud to then sync them with my iphone as he does. It looked like a great option so we tried it. However when I set up icloud on ical - it perpetually came up with 'moving calendars to server account' and I couldn't do anything. It's been ten days - so we've just unchecked the icloud box for ical - and everything is now gone !
My question is twofold
1) Can I restore just iCal itself from Time Machine ?
2) What can I do to prevent this happening and successfully move over to icloud with my calendars ?

I am unaware of any battery life problem with Mountain Lion. There are many problems with incompatible 3rd party software, but that is a different problem.

No. 3rd party application may be fine. Most Apple applications and data will not work.

Help! I lost all the places data in iPhoto.
I tried a restore from time capsule , but it didn't help. All my pics show the same place on the map. Yesterday everything was fine. I was trying to assign the same location to a group of pics today, and somehow I assigned it to the whole library! Every pic shows the same location in the bottom right corner when you open them up. The date it was taken is still good. I figure the geodata is still good? Is there a way to reassign the places?

In the iPhoto preferences is look up places set to automatically?
you can try Back up your iPhoto library, Depress and hold the option (alt) and command keys and launch iPhoto - rebuild your database although this does not sound like library corruption
try restoring a slghtly older backup - be sre the one you are restoring is prior to the problem occuting

I thought I was just unloading an upgrade, for my Palm Tungsten E desktop software, as I unzipped and executed this compressed file.
ALL MY PERSONAL DATA IS GONE. Contact and Calendar. I cannot find the data in the Wastebasket. I cannot find any ARCHIVED Palm FILES. HOW can this be? How can it have LOST all my years of existing Data? Please, please can anyone help me to restore all this invaluable personal data?

Post relates to: Tungsten EWhat is the OS of your computer? Windows or MAC? I see you stated "wastebasket" is this referring to the "Trash" on a MAC?
Do you still have your data on the handheld? If you do, you could change the hotsync conduits to handheld overwrites desktop and then sync. -
i got new iphone and when i connect it to my pc, it lost all my current data and replaced it with the backup on my computer, which is from april. so i have lost all my calendar information and schedule. does anyone know how i can reverse this and get my information back?
Every backup replaces the old one, so, unless you included the backup folder in your computer backup routine, you can't get back your calendar info.
The only time iTunes will not replace a backup is, when you use it to restore from, this one will stay in the backup list in iTunes.

Only possible if you have made an iTune or iCloud backup before the update.

Lost all my Calendars when I went to iCloud
So I moved to iCloud and then my iCal on my MacBook was outof step with my iPhone and iPad. So I went to the Apple Store in Rancho Cucamongaand they deleted all of my iCal entries on my iPhone and then went iCloud frommy MacBook Then my iCal on my MacBook and iPhone were in step. When I got home,I did the same thing on my iPad and then I LOST ALL MY CALENDARS!!
I relied on iCal and do not have a backup, and Time Machineand Carbonite (which I use) do not have an iCal backup.
I need to get my iCal back. PLEASE HELP!!I ended up going to the Apple Store and it took 2 people to get this problem resolved.
Basically, they did the following:
deleted all of my iCal calendars from all devices
deleted iCloud from Mac Book, iPhone and iPad
turned of wireless (so sync would not work)
restored from a week back from Time machine the Calendar data in the Library folder
saved each of the calendars out as an .ics
turned on wireless again
created iCloud on the devices again
turned of wireless (so sync would not work)
created the calendars I have before on all the devices
restoredthe .ics files
turned on wireless again and then synced
everything in iCal was back to one week ago, which was better than having nothing!!
Be VERY careful moving to iCloud! -
I lost all my events on iphone prior to 2015 and this is not nice as I often need to look back on past dates they are on my Macbook air but how can I get them back to my phone
They're not lost, they simply don't show because you settings ask it not to.
Go to Settings --> Mail, Contacts, Calendar --> Calendar --> Sync --> All events -

Thanks for replying so quick. I think before the update the apps were not in the library. Now after the update the apps are in the itunes libary minus the game data. I think that happened because I tried to find my game data. I search my pc and found a previous itunes libraries folder and when I used that I found a file I clicked on a file called itunes Library 2012-01-10 that opened in the itunes library. The date on that file was the date of the upgrade to 5.0.1. when I lost all my games data.
There is another file in the itunes libcalled iTunes Library 2011-03-16 would it be worth trying to download that as it may have more game data?
I ment to say the devices tab not table it is the option in the iTunes app to find out about your device. -
Lost all my calendar appointments when syncing iPhone
Just synced my iphone, nothing new or different but I lost all of the data entered in my iphone. It wiped everything on my iphone and did not copy it to Outlook.
Any suggestions for how I might recover the lost, rather critical data?I have a similar problem. Syncing with mobleme via iMac,iPhone, iPad. Entry's made on the phone or iMac will sync. The iPad is sporadic. If I open the iPad calendar. Sometimes the info show, sometime not and I noticed if it shows times are incorrect. IPad shows 10:30 and iPhone/iMac shows 2:15 which is correct.
I have set up and removed mobleme several times but still have this issue. Also if I just put it on push I get no syncing at all it has to be timed to get any updates.
Similar with contacts. iPad seems to get all out of whack too.
Anybody know if this is a bug. I have seen this behavior since version 3 -
Since downloading iOS7.3 to my iphone 4, I have lost all my calendar entries and it won't let me create new entries either. Is it me or is it the system and if the latter how do I recover the data and add to it?
I am not up dating the system on my ipad in case the same thing happens. They aren't syncing on this facility.Easy solution, thank goodness. On your iPhone, go to settings, then to iCloud. If your Calendar selection is turned off, turn it on. Your info should restore. If your Calendar selection is turned on, then turn it off. Choose to save calendars when asked. After it shuts the Calendar off, turn it back on. Your info should be restored.
Thank you to Apple support for walking me through this. Shame on you Apple for not just telling people about this easy fix rather than making us go through all of this pain and worry.

I reinstalled my operating system (Win 7 Ultimate) and lost all my Firefox data. I had Xmarks, so I got all my book marks back, but I also had gotten another one when Xmarks said they were going to fold (which I can't remember the name of).
The last few times when I reinstalled my OS (which was years ago), there was some place where I could enter a 16-digit PIN and all my passwords, add-ons, etc, would come back...or at least that's how I remember it.
What am I missing to get the passwords back? And all of my add-ons/extensions?Did you register with Firefox Sync? If so, perhaps you have the Recovery Key?

Then, this article describes how to retrieve information stored on the Sync server from a new computer using your recovery key. Did that work?
BTW, I'm assuming you didn't back up your hard drive on a regular basis. If you did, you would be able to get a lot closer to your previous setup. The critical stuff would be under the C:\Users\''yourusername''\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ path.
