Help in dreamweaver forms

I am having a problem getting the return (back end) to work
on my dreamweaver form. i know this is a simple task however for
some reason i have a problem. i am trying to use form mail script
but for some reason i keep getting errors.

Hello,
To get some help, you'll need to give a bit more information.
Does the "back end" send an email, save information to a
database or both
and then redirect to another page or not?
What isn't working?
Are you getting an error message?
What server side language are you using?
What script are you using for the form action, whatever it
is.
Can you post a link to the page?
Thanks,
Tim

  • In desperate help with Dreamweaver Forms

    I am looking to create a textfield within my form for viewers to enter a certain phrase or code to enable them to view my next page on my website. In other words, I am creating a simple game on dreamweaver were viewers have to enter a code within a textfield in order to view the next page once submitted. How can I tell dreamweaver what the word or code is for viewers to enter?? This code would have to be entered correctly, otherwise they would not be able to view the lext page (level 2). I have tried using spry validation but cannot seem to figure it out. Please if someone can help me i would be very grateful.

    php will do this quiet easily if you can use it? A simple example of the code/form is below:
    Copy code and paste into a new Dreamwaever document and save it as next_level.php The page sends the information collected via the form back to itself. If the person enters the correct code in this case 12345 they get taken to www.bbc.co.uk if they enter the wrong code they get a failure message. You can alter all of the above i.e., code and url to go to in the code below.
    You can either use this locally if you have php set up or upload it to your server if it runs php.
    <?php
    if (array_key_exists('sumbit', $_POST)) {
    $code = $_POST['code'];
    if ($code == "12345") {
    header('Location: http://www.bbc.co.uk');
    else {
    $responseMessage = "Sorry, the code you entered is incorrect!";
    ?>

  • Help with Dreamweaver Forms

    I have tried to find this information and no one seems to be
    able to help me (including Adobe Tech Support).
    What I am trying to do is create a form on a web site that
    has four categories...Year, Make, Model, Engine. It is kind of like
    what is on AutoTrader or KBB.
    These need to be linked...Year (i.e, 2007) would pull up all
    the makes made for that year. Make (i.e, Acura) would pull up all
    the models of that make for that year. Model (i.e., MDX) would pull
    up the engine types for that model, make, and year.
    Help me, please!!

    I've got an extension which will do two - linked make to
    model, for
    example, here:

    *      - Configuration (TARGET_EMAIL & DEF_ALERT)
    *      - Creating Forms
    *  That's it!  (Alternatively, just read the Quick Start and/or
    *  Quicker Start section below).
    *  Full configuration documentation is here:
    *      http://www.tectite.com/fmdoc/index.php
    * Purpose:
    * ~~~~~~~~
    *  To accept information from an HTML form via HTTP and mail it to recipients.
    * What does this PHP script do?
    * ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    *  On your web site, you may have one or more HTML forms that accept
    *  information from people visiting your website.  Your aim is for your
    *  website to email that information to you and/or add it to a database.
    *  FormMail performs those functions.
    * Quick Start
    * ~~~~~~~~~~~
    *  1. Edit this file and set TARGET_EMAIL for your requirements (near
    *      line 235 in this file - replace "yourhost\.com" with your mail server's
    *      name).  We also strongly recommend you set DEF_ALERT (the next
    *      configuration below TARGET_EMAIL).
    *  2. Install this file as formmail.php (or other name ending in .php)
    *     on your web server.
    *  3. Create an HTML form and:
    *      - specify a hidden field called "recipients" with the email address
    *        of the person to receive the form's results.
    *      - in the your form tag set the action attribute to
    *        the formmail.php you uploaded to your web server
    *  Once you have FormMail working, you may be interested in some advanced
    *  usage and features.  We have HOW-TO guides at www.tectite.com which
    *  describe many of the advanced processing you can do with FormMail.
    *      http://www.tectite.com/fmhowto/guides.php
    * Quicker Start
    * ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    *  Use the FormMail Configuration Wizard here:
    *      http://www.tectite.com/wizards/fmconf.php
    *  By answering a few questions you'll get a configured FormMail and
    *  a sample HTML form ready to upload and use on your server.
    * Features
    * ~~~~~~~~
    *  For a list of features go to: http://www.tectite.com/formmailpage.php
    * Security
    * ~~~~~~~~
    *  Security is the primary concern in accepting data from your website
    *  visitors.
    *  Tectite FormMail has several security features designed into it.  Note,
    *  however, it requires configuration for your particular web site.
    * Configuration
    * ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    *  To configure this script, go to the section titled "CONFIGURATION"
    *  (after reading the legal stuff below).
    *  There is only one mandatory setting: TARGET_EMAIL
    *  and one strongly recommended setting: DEF_ALERT
    *  Full configuration information is available here:
    *      http://www.tectite.com/fmdoc/index.php

  • HELP With Dreamweaver Contact Page

    I what I want to do is once the user fills in the form like the attachment.  The user clicks the submit button and then a "contact us" webpage opens in the browser and their name and stuff populates a regular contact us webpage made like this http://dreamweaverspot.com/adobe-dreamweaver-tutorial-contact-forms/ is what I am following.  In the attachment have the user enter their name (John Doe) and click a done button and have John Doe appear on the Dreamweaver form.  Then use something like formmail.php so when the user clicks send email their info is already entered and all they have to do is click the button
    PDF File Here

    I don't use GoDaddy but the comments below the tutorial did seem to indicate that there were problems with email.
    GoDaddy is a very good registrar. I, personally would not recommend them for hosting, having on numerous occasions seen clients and potential clients with websites that did not load, loaded slowly, seemed to not work and so on. If they're limiting what you can do with php (or any server-side code) without making a clear alternative for you, then they're too limited to use for a website. And that comment is not aimed at GoDaddy, it's aimed at any web hosting provider that limits their clients in some way that makes websites not work.
    If you know ASP or ColdFusion a web host that does not provide that kind of support is not for you.
    I would mention that you can create a complete form without doing any programming for a web host that supports php on the formmailmaker.com website. You can also find good php code in all sorts of places that will make just about anything you need.
    And if you're still stuck, you can hire someone to do that kind of work.

  • Help in dreamweaver!

    I will try to explain this the best that i can. I am new to
    web design, so there may be a simple solution to my problem:
    I am manually creating text logos from another site to use as
    my buttons. I am placing them on the left side of my site
    indivually. Heres an example:
    ABOUT US
    CONTACT US
    WHAT WE DO
    I will eventually link these other pages that i create. What
    i would like to know is how to utilize the space to the right of
    the buttons. I want to place a large picture or a couple of small
    ones next to the buttons but i cant seem to get the cursor to move
    over anymore. Please keep in mind that i can only design in desigh
    mode not code. But i can ocasionally flip to code to insert other
    codes as needed. I simply place the cursor where i want it in
    design, flip it to code, paste the code i copied, the switch back
    to design code. But i would like like to find out how to place a
    large picture next to all of the buttons that i have on the left
    side of my webpage(to utilize space). I hope i explained myself
    well enough. Any help is appreciatted. Thanks

    Vhova,
    I see that you are new to web design. The question about what
    you wanted to accomplish this fundamental task of simple thing you
    want with nav bars and things like that. To make it happen,
    ideally, you need to get both of your hands dirty under the hood of
    HTML (and eventually with CSS) will help a lot.
    That is to say, once you find some comfort zone working with
    HTML/CSS, the more comfortable you eventually be felt in time.
    I am sorry it might be of a bit blunt, but this gets to the
    point at all once to the bulleye directing you to the right path on
    your way to learn HTML/CSS. Because there are lot of factors
    involved, different issues will come up and go. For one,
    troubleshooting some problem that might arise from time to time,
    with some understanding on how HTML works, then you will be able to
    figure this out.
    Also, please try to use F1 help within Dreamweaver to obtain
    fundamentals of how Dreamweaver works for you and getting you
    started. Additionally, there are lot of great tutorial or steps at
    Dreamweaver Developers, and feel free to learn more about CSS under
    submenu links at DW Developers page.
    Hope that helps you get started more effective and productive
    way to learn HTML and CSS.

  • Creating help in a form

    Hi,
    I need writing a help in a form and I have some informations to put in the help.
    I tried, this but I get an error at the end indicationg a @ is missing:
    $x = @"
     -Nom du produit tel que publié par le fabricant
     - Ne doit pas contenir d'espace
     - Débuter les mots avec des majuscules Exemple: Office
     $helpprovider1.SetHelpString($TxtNomLogiciel, $x)
    Also, I give a try to that but the text is not well format and the help box will be off the form probably because the string is too long.
    $helpprovider1.SetHelpString($TxtNomLogiciel, "-Nom du produit tel que publié par le fabricant
     - Ne doit pas contenir d'espace - Débuter les mots avec des majuscules Exemple: Office")
    What should I do?

    Hi,
    Finally I found out this will be working:
    $x
    =@'
    -Nomduproduittelquepubliéparlefabricant
    -Nedoitpascontenird'espace
    -DébuterlesmotsavecdesmajusculesExemple:

    $helpprovider1.SetHelpString($TxtNomLogiciel,

  • How to use F4 help on PDF form

    Hello,
    I'm using Adobe Interactive Form with WebDynpro for Java.
    I'd like to use F4 value help on Adobe Form.
    Does anyone know how to implement F4 help on PDF form ?
    Regards,
    Koji.

    Hi,
    SAP Note: 1013227.
    But you should have ZCI based forms. Note: 1055911 and 1042394.
    It always makes sense if you specify the NetWeaver SP release you are on along with any other information that you think is important.

  • Value Help on Adobe Forms

    Hi,
    I'm trying to implement one search help (F4 on sap) on adobe forms. I just do this process
    For standard value help in Adobe forms:
    1) In layout chose UI element 'Value Help Drop-down List' from WebDynpro Native Controls of Library Palette.
    2) In Object pallete ->Binding tab, update Default binding with corresponding field .
    For ex: You have context like below
    -NODE
    -FIELD(type LAND1)
    In Default binding, $record.NODE.FIELD
    since LAND1 is a standard type, you will get all the values in value table T005 in the F4 help
    3) Make sure the 'Type' of the field in Object pallete ->Field tab is drop-down list.
    But i can't see any action on adobe. May the properties of the the attribute field on context are wrong.
    Anyone can help please.
    Thank you.

    This is the code that the program create:
                    var processingValueHelp = ContainerFoundation_JS.getGlobalValue(event.target, "processingValueHelp");
                       if(processingValueHelp == false) {
                           ContainerFoundation_JS.setGlobalValue(event.target, "processingValueHelp", true);
                           this.rawValue = "";
                           this.clearItems();
                           ContainerFoundation_JS.SendMessageToContainer(event.target,
                                                                         "valueHelp",
                                                                         this.dataNode.somExpression.replace(/(xfa.?\.)(datasets.?\.)(data.*?\.)/, ""),
                                                                         this.rawValue,
                                                                         event.target.mouseX,
                                                                      event.target.mouseY);
    What is suppose to change ?

  • Multi-select options in Dreamweaver form?

    Hi folks,
    I am creating a booking form that is hosted on a secure site for credit card transmission. This is the form customers complete https://supersecure.co.nz/users/9ba5/215/form_walks_retail.html and they are directed from this page: http://www.qtnz.co.nz/2013
    A typical booking would be 2 adults and perhaps 1 or 2 children and they'd likely choose only one of the activity options.
    Previously I've used pick lists for customers to choose the number of places they are booking but my clients' product list has grown and it's very tedious having to create individual fields and labels for each possible activity that can be booked.
    I am stuck with this particular method of collating credit card data, so an e-commerce site is not really an option.
    As folks here are far more experienced than I in DW forms I'd be grateful if anyone could suggest an easier way of taking bookings through a Dreamweaver form.
    Thanks in advance for advice
    Jo

  • Field Level Help on Tabular forms

    Hi,
    Is there any easy way I can add field level help to tabular forms?
    If I create a form on a table I can add help for each field, however if I create a tabular form there seems to be no way I can associate field level help with a column.
    I know that I can add page level help and could describe all of the columns there, but it would be nicer to add individual help to each column.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
