Help me with this very little PROCEDURE

Question

create procedure Prueba as
begin
declare
total_u number;
begin
select count(*) into total from emp;
end;
end;
What I want is to count all the records and output it in the screen.
But it looks like it cannot be performed in a procedure...
is it possible?

Sorry, Ronald, but ALL of these examples work just fine.
sql>create or replace procedure test
  2  is
  3    v_count  number;
  4  begin
  5    select count(*)
  6      into v_count
  7      from emp;
  8     
  9    dbms_output.put_line( 'Total: ' || v_count );
10  end;
11  /
Procedure created.
sql>set serveroutput on
sql>exec test
Total: 14
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
