Help menu not working

Hi,
the help menu is not working and it will not remove the little box where you are suppose to turn off the message about it not working.
That means I have to boot out and start over in the middle of working, unable to save.
Is there a way to turn the help menu off, or make it work properly?

That doesn't sound like what I see when I try the Help facility.
What system are you running? 
On a PC it just puts up a 404 type web browser error that indicates that the requested resource () is not available.
Seems a little unpolished, but I suppose it's accurate.

    I had been running the CS6 Master Collection trial download version and the help menu, specifically the online "Help" and "Support Center" listed on the main help menu dropdowns of all applications within the suite, was not working, able to connect, or an error that the folder did not exist (apparently corrupted).
    Once I just got the CS6 Master Collection (DVDs) I uninstalled the trials, then installed the hard copy version, with the normal reboot in between. The Help menus still did not work.
    This is what I'm running. : Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
    I called Adobe support and the following was my solution for both my desktop and netbook with this problem.
    1.    Close all running Adobe applications.
    2.    In the directory C:/Program Files (x86)/Adobe/  Delete the "Adobe Help" folder.
    (C:Program Files (x86)/Adobe/Adobe Help/)
    3.    Reboot
    4.    Then go to Adobe.com/support/chc/   (this is the "community help center")
    5.    Click under "Step 2" the "Install Now*" button.
    6.    On one of the windows that open there is a Preferences drop down menu. Select the one that allows online help connection as well as local.
    7.    Click "download" to begin the folder download. The downloaded folders are more than 1 GB for the CS6 Master Suite help files. Watch at the bottom left of the download window to see the small progress meter.
    8.    Once done, reboot.
    My CS6 Master Collection help menus throughout were fixed by completing the above.

  • SharePoint 2013 "Help Menu" not working (Sorry, the page you're looking for can't be found)

    The Built in SharePoint 2013 Help Menu (?) on our Enterprise Farm for both the sites and Central
    Admin does not work.
    On Central Admin help the error comes back as: "Sorry, the page you're looking for can't be found".
    The site collections Help menu gets the error :
    "Unfortunately, help seems to be broken...
    There aren't any help collections in the current language for the site you're using."
    We have installed on all servers in the farm:
    December 9, 2014 Cumulative Update for SharePoint Server 2013 package (build 15.0.4675.1000)
    as well as the latest SharePoint update KB2768001 1/15/2013.

    We are only using Default English (US) language packs.

    There are no pending upgrades on any SharePoint or SQL server, all other SharePoint components are working
    normally.
    Any ideas or suggestions?

    I'm interested in getting the local help to work while this is offline, I saw the following in an article, did you do this and it still does not work for you?

  • Indesign CS4 Help Menu not working Mac OSX 10.6.7

    Hello.
    The InDesign Help menu is a great thing. Use it every day.
    I use it most to find commands that I cant remember the keystrokes to. I activate the menu and start typing "find font" or whatever.
    The menu finds alternatives. So far so good. But when I want to choose one alternative, all that happens is the system error sound plays.
    Does anybody know how to fix this?

    Our ECC system have a customized help (SAP Main Menu -> Help -> Company Help).  It stoped working after the kernel upgrade.  What do you think made it stop working.
    I tried to update also the sapgui patch to 21 but still the help would not work.

  • 10.4.4 Mac Help does not work

    I just upgraded 10.4.3 to 10.4.4. Now Tiger Mac help does not work. Other software help does work, at least those I have checked like Word, Safari, and a few others I have checked. But in the Finder going to help in the Menu bar does brings up the help window, but try to click a link like What's new in Tiger or typing a query into the search window produces nothing. All the software seems to be working fine, at least what I have checked. I have redownloaded and re-installed making sure virus software is off to no avail.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    I tried the steps mentioned before, and thought I would give them one more try. Initially, I had success in that the Help Viewer opened to the default Mac Help view, and when I typed in a find term, lo & behold a list of results appeared! Alas, my visions of success vanished when I clicked on one of the results, then View.....nothing happened!
    I returned to the main menu, and found none of the links would work, and neither would the search function!
    It appears a link may work the first time, but none after that.
    I also noticed that (repeating the Cache & Preference removal steps) that they repopulated with the files when Mac Help was initiated, and, as before, would allow one link acivation to occur, but none after.
    I suspect there may be a conflict with some other applications Help feature, but made sure to activate ONLY the Mac Help with no other Application having been run after restart. The only other possiblity is that some toolbar non-Mac OS X help apps like Magic Menu, Quicken, & iPod conflict, but these are all I have!
    If any one having this Help Viewer problem has similar installations, or knows of any conflicts with these; or, how I can temporarily disable/remove the associated help without uninstalling them, please post a reply.

  • PSE 10  and Adobe CS6: When running silent install help is not working afterwards

    I'm not sure if this is the correct forum. If not: Please help me find the correct one.
    I have a big issue with Adobe CS6 (and former versions like Photoshop Elements 10): When installing it from DVD running GUI everything is working fine afterwards. If I install e.g. Photoshop Elements 10 using "Silent Installation" help is not working afterwards. It states that it cannot locate the URL. I have not installed AIR and also do not plan to install it.
    I have 'played' a little around with Common Files\Adobe\helpcfg and help directory. Now at least I do not get an error message but still it's not the online help which opens in the browser but the web page that is defined as 'home'.
    The same I see now in Adobe CS6. I have e.g. packaged After Effects and Illustrator and when deploying it I'm not able to open help as well and I fear that this is the same issue.
    Has anyone deeper knowledge about how "helpcfg" is working? Any example files? Any other help appreciated as well.

    @hannilator Have you checked the exceptions folder contents for instructions on how to push to logged off computers? Here's what I get when I package CS6 (DesignWebPrem) and excude AIR/CHC:
    After you have deployed the package, separately install the products in the exception folder.
    IMPORTANT: Before you install the products in the exception folder, refer to the following Adobe Knowledgebase article for information on installing these products and configuring the settings correctly:

    NOTE: The installation commands provided below will work when the user is logged in to the client machine where the package is being deployed. For the scenario where the user is not logged in, prefix the following string to the command:

    As an example, here is the command to install "Adobe AIR" when the user is not logged in to the client machine (assuming Adobe AIR is part of the package):

    You can do it manually too
    1.  Choose function group 'CSDI' via Transaction SE80.
    2.  Choose screen '0260'in the 'Screens' area and switch to change mode
    3.  Choose the 'Element list' tab index.
    4.  In this area, choose the 'Reference' tab index and enter the value
        'PRP' in the 'Search help' column in the line for field
        'RC29N-PSPNR'.
    5.  Save your change and regenerate the screen.
    6.  The correct input help for the WBS element is now available in the
        initial screen of Transaction CS71/72/73.
    I hope F4 helps works for "Existing WBS BOM's" in CS71 after this
    Refer to Note : 714824 as well , it has reverted back the changes done by note : 422265

    Hi,
    This might be due to the JRE version of the browser. We faced such issue and the update of JRE version in the browser helps to get the pop-up of F4 help. Check in the internet broswser Tools -> Internet Option -> Advanced. Check whether the JRE applet is checked or not. it has to be checked. if it is checked and even if you dont get the F4 help, upgrade the JRE version.

    I dont think that a field can be disabled and allows to choose data using f4 simultaneously. you can enable the field and allow the user to select whatever he/she wants.
    Then in any action like on press of save or submit button which the user will trigger after entering the values, get the value entered by the user in that perticular field and fire a query on the table/view, which you have used as selection method of your search help, it help is coming from data element then look for check table in domain. if sy-subrc comes 0 than go ahead else give error that value selected is modified.

    A strange error occurred in our ECC 6.0 SR3 system (Windows 2003 SE 64 bit based, MaxDB 7.6.03.009). F1 help does not work in transaction SE80. Either nothing is shown when a keyword as SELECT is marked and F1 key is pressed, or a strange popup appears with title u201CABAP Keyword Documentationu201D and root u201CHit List of Index Searchu201D - [screenshot|http://i43.tinypic.com/aox7d.jpg]. No matter what I choose in the tree it always closes, no help is displayed and SAP GUI returns in the main screen in transaction SE80.

    As it is seen from my previous post SAP GUI version is 7.10 SP 12. I downloaded the last SP 13 and installed it. Now SAP GUI information looks like this:

    The problem is not resolved.
    This happens from different workstations with different versions and sub-versions of SAP GUI, so the problem is not caused from the GUI I think. It happens using different logon users and in all SAP system cliens.
    Any other suggestions?
