- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Try the standard fixes:
- Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

Help! Going on holiday in 6 hours and I don't know how to turn my iPod off!

I'm going on holiday in 6 hours (In an aircraft) and I have an iPod Photo, and I might be stupid but, I'm paranoid about the aircraft crashing, and on top of that, I don't know how to turn my iPod 'off'
There isn't time to make it turns itself off over 48 hours as I only have 6 >_<
Does putting it into 'sleep' (Holding down the play/pause for a few seconds) and sliding hold have the same effect as 'off' or as good as?

The screen on my ipod touch is stuck zoomed in. I turned it off and back and its still stuck zoomed in. I also tried to reset it and that didn't work either. Please help.

The screen on my ipod touch is stuck zoomed in. I don't know how it happened I just looked down and it was like that. I have turned it off and back and even reset it but it still keeps zooming back in each time I turn it on. I can't unlock it because I can't see the numbers and it won't let me move around the screen. Please help.

My iPod has been connecting to the Wifi connection at home oddly. It ran on and off, so I decided to restore it and see if it would fix. Instead, it stopped working altogether. It shows the bars when I find my connection, but never connects. Help?

A message pops up saying no connection was found when boot up any internet-based app. It shows the bars and everything. We have laptops and iPhones at home as well, and they're running the web fine. (Well, one laptop is perfectly fine; the others are not, but that's to be figured out.)
I have tried:
*rebooting the iPod
*restoring it (I've done it twice; once using a backup of the previous backup, and the other completely new)
*turning the wifi on and off
*doing the "forget this network"
*clearing history/everything then rebooting
I've pretty much done all I can. I have an appointment in two days, but I'm trying to find an answer. My iPod is no longer in warrenty (it's merely of how long I've had it, I never jailbroke) and I believe it costs to get a new one. I don't have the money to purchase a replacement, and I'm sure my parents wouldn't be pleased. My iPod is about a year and a half old. I used it very frequently, and would charge it every night. I used the Wifi all the time.
At a recent Apple visit, the associate told me my iPod had a corrupted software and to restore. I did restore, but mentioned above: I did it when my Wifi was being odd and then backed up to a previous saved backup of the iPod. The next night, I completely restored it and made a new "iPod profile" thing instead of going for a backup file.
Any ideas?

If i understand what you are saying then you are seeing the WiFi indicator after connecting but Apps are saying that they are not connected to the internet?
Your router may not have given your iPod a valid IP address. Go to Settings > Wifi > your network name and touch the ">" to the right to see the network details. If the IP address starts with 169 or is blank then your router didn't provide an IP address and you won't be able to access the Internet.
Sometimes the fix can be to restart your router (remove power for 30 seconds and restart). Next, reset network settings on your iPod (Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings) and then attempt to connect. In other cases it might be necessary to update the router's firmware with the latest from the manufacturer's support web pages.
If you need more help please give more details on your network, i.e., your router make, model and version, the wifi security being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), etc.

My applications and games have become slow or unresponsive.
The ipod keeps resetting itself, I have tried resetting it to no avail.
I tried plugging it into itunes but it freezes itunes and wont show up on my computer.
When I switch off the ipod it shows a spinning wheel until the battery dies, which could be nearly 2 hours!!

Try restoring the iPod via iTunes. First from backup and if problem persists, restore to factory defaults/new iPod.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. If your iPod is with in the one-year warrranty, not abused and defective Apple will replace it.

I don't have the disk and i tried the shift key and it didn't do anything, i have tried like everything but it won't work and i was givin this computer with a charger and that is all nothing came with it and i don't think that it had the lion thing on it either i never got to that it just won't turn on and i have another mac that was a family members but it won't turn on either at all it won't load anything the screen stays black. so i don't really know at all what to do is there anything else? i don't want to take it anywhere because i have no money for that, and i need this computer for school. If it happens again and the reset (home + power buttons) doesn't work, just let the battery drain; you'll know when the screen shuts off. Charge it back up and it should be fine. Frankly, I'm surprised this worked for you. Usually I hear people with this problem say that holding both buttons doesn't work, and they have to do the battery drain.
If the issue is incurable next time, you have a one-year warranty from the date of purchase.
