Help needed in variable substitution

Hi guys,
I'm doing a simple file to file scenario, where i'm moving a mp3 file from one folder to another. I referred one weblog to do this any file type to anyfile type scenario, which uses only configuration in ID and nothing to be done in IR.
My doubt is that I want the source file name to be taken for the destination file name..
Since i'm not using IR at all, I cant' use coding to use Adapter Specific Message Attributes...
Please help me on this guys...
Also, if in my receiver if i want to pick up all files having .mp3 extension, how is this possible???

See if my understanding is not wrong, in source u may have lot of .mp3 files, so u don't know wht could be the filename, but the same filename has to be reached while writing the destination am I right? If yes then Choose ASMA. Check both channels and give * as filename scheme. U can specify like this even if u r not using any IR objects.

Help needed with variable - trying to get data from Oracle using linked svr

Sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum - I just didn't know where to post it.
I'm trying to write a simple stored procedure to get data from an oracle database via a linked server in SQL Enterprise manager. I have no idea how to pass a variable to oracle.
Here's how I would get the variable in SQL:
declare @maxkey INTEGER
select @maxkey= MAX(keyfield) from [server].Data_Warehouse.dbo.mytable
select * from [server].Data_Warehouse.dbo.mydetailtable where keyfield=@maxkey
the select statement I need to do in oracle would use that variable like this:

and I get this message: OLE DB provider "OraOLEDB.Oracle" for linked server "OracleLinkedServer" returned message "ORA-00936: missing expression".
I realize that I can't pass the @maxkey variable to oracle - so how do I accomplish this?

Please refer the example in this link which deals with Oracle date format.
You can finnd a command DECODE which is used for date formats. If you have a look at whole theory then you will get an idea.

Find and replace help needed, multiple variables

Im trying to find all urls in my code that start in a particular way but have a number variable at the end, see examples below

and replace them with one url, see example below

How can I use Dreamweaver find and replace to achieve this across my whole website?
So far I only know how to find one thing and replace with another, rather than finding variables and replacing them with one thing.

In the Find field of the Find and Replace dialog box, enter this:
(href\s*=\s*\"\/example\/examplefolder\/enquiry\.asp)\?pid=\d+(\")
In the Replace field, enter this:
$1$2
Select the "Use regular expression" checkbox.
Explanation:
The two sets of parentheses are capturing groups, which capture the actual values as $1 and $2.
The \s* matches zero or more spaces.
\" matches a double quote.
\/ matches a forward slash.
\? matches a question mark
\d+ matches one or more numbers.

which user you used for CPACache refresh - it can only be done by XIDIRUSER.

Urgent help needed - GGB1 substitution and vendor/customer clearing!

Problem is following, I need to create substitution to change tax account and tax code during clearing of vendor or customer documents, and rule is if downpayment and invoice are in two different periods, use account xxx insead yyy. So, I used standard RG... program to create it, but I have following issue; during execution of transaction FB1K or FB1D, I don't have transfered document numbers of invoice and downpayment which I try to clear in RG... report. In fact, only table which I can access is BSEG and only data are data of clearing document which is being created. So, is there any user exit, badi, anything, which I could use to fetch document numbers of documents which I'm trying to clear.
I would really apreciate any kind of help or hint!

Maybe to explain a bit more deeper. I need to get document numbers of down payment and invoice which I'm clearing during this transaction. So, problem is that during execution of substitution I don't know this numbers, simply they are not available in it. Only table that I see is BSEG which is being populated with values of clearing document which is being created. If I'm clearing down payment 1500002, with invoice 1700005, during execution of substitution I don't see this document numbers. So, if criterions based on which my substitution should work (in my case if down payment and invoice are in different posting periods) are in this documents, there is no way (as I can see) to check this.
So, it is no problem to make some select statement for BSEG, BKPF or BSIK... but based on what? Any ideas?

Dear All,
My problem is solved!
The issue is because I don't put the interface mappings sequence as the same sequence as the message mappings sequence. Hence the structure name that i put in the variable substitution all are not match with the structure name in the payload even though all have the file name element.
So what i did is i have to reorder the sequence of my message mappings to be the same sequence as the interface mappings sequence.

Problem in variable substitution

I need help for a strange problem:
I have a proxy to file scenario in which I create an xml file; I need to use a field of the mapping to create filename.
In Receiver CChannel I have used variable substitution, but in message monitoring I got this error:

Hi,
Everything looks fine.
Make sure that there is no extra space after your "%Folio%" under the Variable Substitution.
Make sure that "Adapter Specific message Attributes" is unchecked in the CC.
You can do a change in message mapping to create a header field<occurence: 1> map to a constant and call it in var substitution.
As Mickael suggested above make sure using only lowercase on your variant name %folio% instead of %Folio%.

Maybe someone can give me a short hint regarding an error we are getting during the variable substitution in an outbound file adapter.
How can we specify a namespace in the variable substituion?
Without namespace this is working well, but we don't know how to specify the namespace.
We get this error essage: #2006-03-17 15:29:07 CET: Message processing failed: Error during
variable substitution:com.sap.aii.adapter.file.varsubst.VariableDataSourceException: The following variable was not found in the message payload: FileName

Do not mention ns1 in the variable substitution.
Why you need to mention the namespace in the variable substitution ?
Just Mention GMPluTxn,1,GMFileHeader,1,FileName,1
Like this.
If you want to get the output file name with namespace, then try to get the namespace as part of your payload(i.e part of your message type ). Then if you don;t want it in the Output file, you can cut it using cut option of File Receiver Adapter.

Variable Substitution settings for Receiver File Adapter

Hi All,
I wanna use variables for File Name Sheme in the File Access Parameters.I had used by enclosing the variable names within %. When i wanna substitute values for those variables, it is given in the documentation(help.sap.com) that v need to set the Enable indicator. only after setting the indiactor, v can use the variables and can then enter the values for those variables in a table. but i can't see either the indicator or the table in my editor. how can i provide the values for the variables used in file name scheme/Target Directory. and for ur information,i'm using sp12.

Variable Substitution in Receiver File Channel

Could you kindly help me with this?
Mine is File to File Scenario. ECC drops a XML file in AL11 directory and i send that file using FTP to a third party system. There is no mapping involved and i use ICO. I need to get a value from the payload dynamically for using it in my file name.
When i tried to use Variable Substitution Method i get this error : VariableDataSourceException: Caught SAXException while parsing XML payload: Content is not allowed in prolog.
This is the reference i have given in my variable substitution : payload:customerelement,1,customer,1,sender,1,dealercode,1
and my XML structure is as below and i am trying to access the dealercode field in the XML.

Yeah that is correct. But in my case the XML structure was not properly formed and i hwas frequently getting this error " Content is not allowed in Prolog" for which i tried all the solutions in SDN and nothing worked out. So i had no other option and had to go for adapter module.
Now the issue is solved and the interface is working as expected with the adapter module.

The substitution looks fine.
Did you read this,
<i>To disable the check the adapter performs for the element data, set the Disable Security Checks indicator.
Otherwise, the adapter checks whether the element data contains characters that could lead to security risks in the file system environment. The check includes the characters /, \, and ...</i>
Try seleting this option and checking the same.

Communication channel - Variable Substitution error,.

I am having the following mesage type used in messag emapping as a target structure
mt_data
-> Variable1
I am having a validation on mt_data node in message mapping for generating it, if condition is satisfied mt_data will be generetaed. Under mt_data i am having a variable. This variable is getting populated with some data using normal source to target mapping.
I am using this variable in my communication channel as a variable substitution, and is used to replace file name.
The issue I am facing is, when the mt_data fails to get generated (valid reason, since validation to generate it failed), communciation channel in RWB fails saying variable for substitution not found.

1) make a check on the variable in receiver determination itself...so that if fails then the message stops in Receiver determination itself....why to take it forward till channel and then fail.
2) Make use of some constant term to fill the variable in the mapping if the validation fails.....this will help to put value in the variable even when the validation fails and the message does not fail in channel...filename created.
You need to check with the functional people on how they want the message prcessing to occur when the variable cannot be created by the mapping logic.

Help using repository variable in dashboard text

Hi,
we have a dashboard section that shows current announcements regarding data issues, etc. This is just using a plain text object on the dashboard. I need to add the following to the top of the text: "Data loaded on xx/xx/xxxx".
I've created a static repository variable called "DW_LOAD_DATE" and populated it with the proper date/time.
I'm 100% able to use this in an answers query, but I'm stuck trying to figure out how to get it to show up in a dashboard plain text section with no Answers behind it. I've tried:
{biserver.variables['DW_LOAD_DATE']}
@{biserver.variables['DW_LOAD_DATE']}
{biserver.variables[DW_LOAD_DATE]}
@{biserver.variables[DW_LOAD_DATE]}
In all cases, the only thing that shows up is the exact text from above - the substitution isn't being done properly. Can someone help, I'm obviously doing something dumb.

Ok, I got the following to work (kind of):
@{biServer.variables['DW_LOAD_DATE']}
I was thrown off because the "preview" window shows it as the above string without doing the variable substitution.
Now my last question - the above variable is stored as a TIMESTAMP, because in some cases we need to know the time in addition to the date. When it's showing in the dashboard text, I see the following:
Data was last loaded on TIMESTAMP '2011-01-06 18:00:00'
Is there a simple way to format this so it shows up like:
Data was last loaded on 1/6/2011 18:00:00

○       If the variables are to refer to an attribute of the message header, add the prefix message: to the name of the variable under Reference. You can specify the following attributes of the message header:
sender_party, sender_service, receiver_party, receiver_service, interface_name, interface_namespace, message_id, message_id_hex
Can we not access sender_interface_name and sender_interface_namespace are not mentioned in above list of variables.
Is it not possible to access sender_interface_name or sender_interface_namespace as variable substitute parameters from within Receiver File Adapter Communication channel.

Yes, i can hardcode, thats not a bad idea, i need to create then 3 different Reciever File Communication Channel objects, as I am dealing with 3 scenarios for which sender system and sender interface is different.

RECEIVER_NAMESPACE     ReceiverNamespace
it seems both INTERFACE (,INTERFACE_NAMESPACE) and RECEIVER_NAME(,RECEIVER_NAMESPACE) are present, may be one is for sender, and another is for receiver.. may be if i use dynamic configuration, possibly my issue would be addressed.. correct me if i am wrong.
