Help Needed ! OTN Team, Re: @initjvm.sql failer!

I have installed ORA816 on WindowsNT (128M). I failed to run initjvm.sql for several times, even I have give 120 M Share Pool Size and 120M Java Pool Size. meanwhile I also enlarge the virtual memory to 512M.
The error is always the same:
create or replace java system;
ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
I do not know why this happened. what should I do next?

What if I have only 256M Physical memory, is it possible to run the script initjvm.sql?
I have set more virtual memeory 840M to 1024M under Windows NT, the larger RBS with 512M, 128M share_pool and 84M java_pool. Unfortunately I failed. I do not know why the initial database has less space specifications and we can not deal the sql script with it. Other suggestions?

I have a multicolumn list box on my front panel which is filled in with data extracted from the database. On selecting any of the rows in the list box, another one is opened displaying another set of data extracted by a generated SQL query. At the moment I am only selecting one row at a time to view it's related data, but I want to expand such that I can select mutiple rows from the list box at a time and see all of their corresponding data.
With only a single selection, I can pass the index value of the selection to an Index Array Function with the database as the other input and build my SQL statement.
But with multiple selections, I imagine I would have to build an array on index values and use those as a reference to build the SQL statment. And I am not sure how exactly to go about doing that.
Here is the code that I currently have working for a single selection from the list box.
Any help is appreciated. Cheers.

Regarding building the array:
I can see hat you multicolumn listbox has not multiselection enabled, and is limited to one or zero selected item at once. To enable multiselction; simply rightclick your multicolumn listbox and change your selection mode to support multiple selected items. The NewVal at the event structure should change from a single index number to a 1D array of indexed numbers. No coding needed. Then just retrive out all the items (since you know the indexes) and create the quiry. The quiry part I dont really know (long time no see SQL), but it looks like a for loop to create the string should do the trick?

For each row in "MEASUREMENTS", count the number of matches in "INTERESTING_VALUES" (all rows). Please note that the matches might not be in the same column.... e.g. for a given row MEASUREMENTS M1 might match INTERESTING_VALUES M3.
I need to count 2,3 and 4 matches and provide the count values seperatley.
I am not interested in fuzzy matching (e.g. "greater than" or "less than"), the numbers only need to match exactly.
(You can use features up to 11g).

I can put in sysdate for LAST_UPDATED_DT and my initials SN for LAST_UPDATED_BY. This is going to be for 2 unique WEB_USER_IDs which would be in the WHERE clause. I will be inserting 2200 rows for each id. A single insert statement would look like this -

Help needed with IN Clause in SQL Query

I would like to know if it is possible to pass a value and a sql statement in the IN Clause
Eg., I want to query from a table as follows:
Select Col1, Col2 from Table_A where Col2 in ('XYZ',(Select Col_A from Table_B))
So i want the result from Table_A where Col2 has values 'XYZ' along with all the values from Col_A of Table_B.
Is it possible to do so.. If not what other alternative is possible.. Because i have to pass a hard coded value along with the values from a Table in the IN statement.

Help needed with Dashboard prompt using SQL Constrain

I am trying to implement a filter using presentation variables in a Dashboard Prompt.
I wish to use SQL filter to Constrain the results to populate the 2nd Combo Box.
The solution works for the 1st time, and there after it doesn't.
Can anyone suggest a better approach or correct me if I am doing anything wrong.
NOTE: I do not wish to use 'Constrain' Check box which is provided by Oracle.

Error in initjvm.sql

Hi everyone again,
to make the jvm work i tried installing the jvm lauching the initjvm.sql script as DBA.
I had several error as response, among which the most relevant were:
[1]: (Error): File 'initjvm1' not found.
[2]: (Error): File 'initjvm2' not found.
[3]: (Error): File 'initjvm3' not found.
[4]: (Error): File 'initjvm4' not found.
[4]: (Error): ORA-29540: class oracle/aurora/rdbms/DbmsJava does not exist
[6]: (Error): File 'init_security' not found.
[11]: (Error): File 'jvmdyn' not found.
[14]: (Error): ORA-01008: not all variables bound
Anyone can help?

As far as I know, you need to run the "initjvm.sql" script as user
SYS.

Help Needed in SQL QPAC

I need some help regarding the SQL QPAC which is a built in QPAC in Adobe Livecycle Workflow. The SQL QPAC takes MYSQL as the default database. Suppose if we need to connect to the SQL Server or any other database, what is the procedure to do that.

Hi Suraj
You need to deploy a second copy of the SQL QPAC, and point it at a different datasource. The datasource is defined as a deployment parameter (it will prompt you when you deploy the new version of the qpac).
You will also need to define the datasource in your application server. This is done in different ways for different application servers - for details, please see: standards_based_qpacs.pdf (part of the Workflow SDK), page 12, "Creating a JNDI datasource".
Alternately, you can try out our SQLPlus QPAC. This allows you to directly specify connection url, driver, username and password. The SQLPlus QPAC does a lot of other things that the regular SQL QPAC doesn't do, such as handling multiple rows, testing your query, and outputting the data in a variety of ways.

SQL Server2008 help needed

Having trouble with SQLServer 2008 (not MySQL) and my database connection in Dreamweaver CS6. My document type is set as .asp using VBScript. I can list the table information but cannot use the insert wizard to add new records. I don't get any errors after creating the insert form, but no records get inserted. I'm not a VBScript expert, but do I have to manually write some code to insert records? How do I attach it to a button?

Thanks for the quick reply. I won't be back in the office for a few days, but I'll try to post it when I get back in. It's pretty much the code generated from the Dreamweaver Insert Record wizard. I see where the submit button is created and the value is set but the action on the form is set to MM_insert, so I don't see where the submit code is actually called.

HELP: Reports Builder 9iDS Rel2 and SQL Server 2000

I need to connect to a SQL Server 2000 database from within Report Builder (for a proof of concept) and I am getting error 62000-Failed to connect to datasource.
Can you help?
My OS is Windows Prof 2000.
I have Downloaded Oracle 9iDS Rel2 and Oracle 9i AS J2EE and Web Cache. They are installed in the same Oracle Home.
I have modified the REPORTS_CLASSPATH with the datadirect jar files and the j2ee oc4j.jar.
The oc4j.jar is in my system classpath.
I have added the classpath definition with jars to my rwserver.conf.
I start Report Builder select JDBC Query
enter my connect info:
Username: user
Passowrd: pwd
Database: dbname
and select the merant-sqlserver driver from the list.
What am I doing wrong?
I have been at this a week can anyone help?

Hi Jeanne
1. When you run the report to paper design from builder, you need to add the necessary jar file of driver to REPORTS_CLASSPATH env variable in registery.
2. To run the report from report server and to generate to file from report builder, you need to add the jar files via classPath attribute of engine element in server/builder conf file. It would be like this
<engine id="rwEng" .....classPath="<yr classpath>" >
3. Have a look at jdbcpds.conf file in OH/reports/conf dir. This file need to have the driver information for the driver you are using. The entry here also specifies the connect sting format which is required by the driver. You need to refer to driver doc for connect string format.
Once you have all this set up ready, run the report. You need to mention the connect string in same format as specified in driver info in jdbcpds.conf file.

10g error on initjvm.sql during manual db creation

Hi all,
I get an error after my (manual) database ceation when I want to install a jvm (on Suse linux 10g), I hope you can help.
I've done several 'clean' installations by hand and several 'full' installations using the dbca. But I want to have a 'clean' install from my own scripts (including a RON & use of inside java later), but this effort fails (after a neat installation) when I want to install the jvm using the initjvm.sql script.
After my default database creation, I want to install the JVM, by starting:
cd /u01/app/oracle/product/10.1.0/db_1/javavm/install

ORA-06512: at line 2It seemed that this JAccelerator was not really necessary for a JVM to run. So I installed the JVM check funtion (which I've installed before on Metalink's advice):

I've run the rmjvm.sql script and am searching for a way to install the jvm correctly using scripts (not the dbca).
At this developing stage I'm not really able to contact Metalink, so I'm wondering how to install a JVM on a 10g database using scripts (10.1.0.3.0 on Linux). Anyone got an idea?

So,
I removed the JVM by running @rmjvm.sql in @ORA_HOME/javavm/install, then installed it again by running @initjvm.sql and ignored the error.
Next was running @initxml.sql in $ORA_HOME/rdbms/admin, but that wasn't really right (so @rmxml.sql in the same dir). After I ran @initxml.sql from @ORA_HOME/xdk/admin, no problems!

Help needed on installation of Oracle 9i EE on Sun Solaris 8. The problem I met was: we followed the installation guide from the documentation. And we selected the choice "install software only". After it was done successfully, we run Database Configuration Assistant utility to create a database instance. But finally it always tried to create the instance at the root directory ( / ) which doesn't have enough space and then failed. The case was that we have set the enviroment parameters: $ORACLE_BASE = /export/mydata, $ORACLE_HOME = /export/apps/oracle9i. That means it should be installed at /export/mydata, but it didn't. Any help or advice are welcome. Thanks.

I have downloaded Oracle 11G R2 version from Windows and extracted it in Windows and copied it into DVD after extraction in two folders. Now I am mounting that DVD in Solaris 10 installed in my VMware . I made a new directory named as 'installation ' under /export/home/oracle and copied the folders from DVD to 'installation' folder. Now I am entering installation folder and try to do ./runInstaller as 'oracle ' user and getting the error mentioned before.
