I am developing a ticketing system.
I would like to ask how do i develop a database that records 3 days in advance for the different timings?
For instance,
14/12/2007 _1915_ _2130_
15/12/2007 _1140_ _1415_
16/12/2007 _1430_ _1830_

How to read a passward protected excel file with the help of database connectivity tool kit

hi, i was reading an excel file with the help of database connectivity tool kit in labview 8.0
i made tabels in the excel file nand made odbc connection and specified the workbbok name.
now my problem is how to read the same file if i specife a pasword to that excel file ?

The followings are different types of views:
Database View (SE11)
Database views are implement an inner join, that is, only records of the primary table (selected via the join operation) for which the corresponding records of the secondary tables also exist are fetched. Inconsistencies between primary and secondary table could, therefore, lead to a reduced selection set.
In database views, the join conditions can be formulated using equality relationships between any base fields. In the other types of view, they must be taken from existing foreign keys. That is, tables can only be collected in a maintenance or help view if they are linked to one another via foreign keys.
Help View ( SE54)
Help views are used to output additional information when the online help system is called.
When the F4 button is pressed for a screen field, a check is first made on whether a matchcode is defined for this field. If this is not the case, the help view is displayed in which the check table of the field is the primary table. Thus, for each table no more than one help view can be created, that is, a table can only be primary table in at most one help view.

A projection view can draw upon only one table. Selection conditions cannot be specified for projection views.

Maintenance views enable a business-oriented approach to looking at data, while at the same time, making it possible to maintain the data involved. Data from several tables can be summarized in a maintenance view and maintained collectively via this view. That is, the data is entered via the view and then distributed to the underlying tables by the system.

7. press the pushbutton relationship. here you will find all the tables which are allowed to create view with mara.

Need help connecting database in Dreamweaver MX

I'm using Dreamweaver MX, XP Pro and IIS. I installed the
latest version of PHP (5.2) and have mySQL and the ODBC driver
installed.
I set up the testing site in Dreamweaver. Yet, Dreamweaver
cannot locate my database(s).
I followed steps to edit the PHP.INI file to work with
Dreamweaver correctly, yet it's not working. However, now instead
of getting "An unidentified error has occured", I'm getting the
vague "HTTP Error Code 500 Internal Server Error" error.
PHP was installed manually at first but that didn't work
right so I reinstalled it using the auto install. It should be
accurate, only I can't see where I would enter the path to the
database files; there is no line for that in the SQL section. But
it's in the default directory so it should know where it is
automatically ... ?
Help???!!! Can someone walk me through the steps to see why
it isn't pointing to the databases?

Please help with database connection issue

Hi,
I've created a few connections and pages with a few recodsets on my local computer and am connecting fine with the database. I've uploaded the database via phpmyadmin onto a remote server and uploaded all my pages to the website and have changed the database info, user name and password in the connections folder but when I try to load the file I get a message "no database selected". I've tried various things but no luck. I'm selecting the database name but something is missing. Any help would be appreciated.

Help with database connection

ok I am trying to use dreamweaver's database function to
connect to a mysql database, i fill in the info and it gives me the
following error:
"an unidentified error has occurred"
I know all the info i am putting in is correct as I am copy
and pasting it directly out of my connection properties in navicat
mysql editor which can connect to the database fine
i tried connecting to multiple databases on multiple servers
and every single one returned the exact same error
I am using Dreamweaver CS3 for Mac OSx

Have you gone under the Application folder and clicked on the
plus (+) sign and created the connection to the database.
Also, do you have username and password on the database? If
so, you'll have to provide this information
I don't use MAC or PHP a great deal. So my help can be rather
limited. I'm just thinking about connection strings
What web server are you using? MAke sure it's running and set
up correctly. Test the server first and see if it's working. If so
see what connections string Dreamweaver is providing. I know Apache
had a few bugs with various version just Windows has had in the
past, not sure how these work with OSX

Help with Database Connected LiveCycle ES4 form

Hello and thanks for taking the time to read this question, I hope you can help!
I have a LiveCycle ES 4 form connected to an excel database. The form has buttons to "Add", "Update" or "Find" a record. These buttons all work correctly EXCEPT when the server drive that has the Excel file is not available. In this case I wanted to add code the "Add" button informing the user that there is an error. I tried adding a try/catch block before the SQL statement that inserts a record into excel but even when I purposely make the Excel file unavailable the try/catch block doesn't seem to work. The javascript console will show an error but try/catch doesn't seem to trigger. If I had a javascript syntax error within the try/catch block, it works as expected, but with the database connected form, it appears the try/catch block does not trigger based on errors generated as a result of the database file having an issue. In this case, the console just shows a "GeneralError: Operation failed." message. Why doesn't the try/catch block trigger since there is an error as stated on the console? Is there a work around? HELP IN DATABASE CONNECTIVITY IN A SERVLET`

I have some issues in an application. I have a servlet which is called Servlet1.class. I have deployed this in my tomcat webapps folder. There is a stand alone application called MailAgent.class which pools into a mail box and retrieves the messages and converts them as HTTP messages. Then the MailAgent.class sends the HTTP message as multipart post (email message) to the servlet. In the servlet I am trying to establish a database connection with the JDBC driver from third party vendor. I am unable to get the driver class when I establish the connection with the database. Is there any issues with servlet and database access. I am able to connect if I run as a stand alone application.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There shouldn't be any .class file in your webapps folder. I hope you mean that you created a subdirectory under webapps, with a WEB-INF under that and /classes and /lib under that. Your servlet .class file and its package directory structure belong under webapps/yourApp/WEB-INF/classes, right?
You can create database connections in a servlet, although I agree with the previous poster that you'd be better off putting database code into objects that you could test off-line, without the servlet.
You've got to have the JDBC driver JARs in the webapps/yourApp/WEB-INF/lib directory, for starters.
If you get really adventurous you can create a pooled JNDI data source, but maybe that's another day's work. Get the basic connection working first.

Yes, but looking at your log, make sure you define it in the logger in capital letters (DBADAPTERLOGGER). I've had issues in the past where i defined the log level as noted in the documentation, and it only outputted the errors because it was outputting in all caps.
The documentation for the connector defines how you should enter your log levels in JBOSS.

Help on Database design

Hi Folks,
I'm assigned to create a database to test for OLTP before it is used in production. Can you please advice me on how to determine the capacity planning. Do we have any benchmarking for the initilization parameter sizing.
Seeking expertise advice on how to determine the values for the init parameters like pool sizes, SGA,PGA..etc..
Can you give me an example or a link where i can get the examples of benchmarking values for scenario like OLTP systems, OLAP systems..etc.

See Karthik, there is no golden rule for parameter settings and also for SGA , PGA and other stuffes. If you ask me, I would recommend you to start with optimal settings and make change according to the need. In addition of that,
you also need to think of schema design and what sort of Architecture is being
require for your database. Few to consider are RAC, PARTTIONING and Parellal processing, Although, this is not a good candiate for OLTP.
In addition of that I really like you to purchase a book "Effective Oracle By Design"
An excellent book to read prior to build your enviornment.

Help on Database Adapter

Hi,
I am new to ESB and webMethods. I am trying to get the data from xml file and store them in database tables. I was able to run the program without any errors, but not able to store the values in database tables.
I used file adapter to get the data, used routing service and database adapter map the data and connect to oracle instance. Every thing is working fine.
I used insert only template in database adapter. Can anyone please help me to how to commit the values in database?

Thanks for the reply. I found in ESB instance that every thing is fine. Under the status column it see a tick mark. And I am new to ESB integration I have installed ESB and JDeveloper yesterday and started working on it. I don’t know where to check the logs or traces.
I have installed SOL 10.1.3.1 and jdevstudio 10.1.3.1 for Windows XP.
Can you please tell me how to check the logs that.

HELP-Oracle Database 11g Instalation interupted

I have a problem with instalation of Oracle 11g database. I am completely new to Oracle database. While installing Oracle database 11g for Windows (32 bit) I received the following messages . My OS is Vista 32 bit.
