Help on transport rquest

Hi friends
i want to change report which is already being modify by another user.
request is created under his user id.
how can i work on this object..
my question is how can i go head with both change and i want transport my changes to DEV->QA->production.
please any one can explain and also pleas explain me how can i retrieve the production version and after my changes transported to production how can i maintain another user changes remains in development.

Hi Ramesh,
First u have to take the ownership of the TR. When u double click on the TR there will be one icon in the bottom a/b(Change owner). Click on that. Here u can change the ownership. U have to do this for both Tr and subtasks under that TR.
Coming to ur second question- Go to versions of that object and compare the latest TR released with production/QA. If there is no differences then there will be one option in the tool bar called Retrieve. If u press this then all the changes made under current TR will be errased. U can make ur changes and release it to QA/Production. But in this case u cant get back the changes done by other person under the current TR.
For this probable solution would be Comment all the changes
done under current TR and put a modlog saying these
changes will be uncommented once your changes are
released to production. This will be the best approach i suggest. In this case u no need to retrieve the TR.

Need help on Transport Requests in BI

Hi All,
I am doing BW Transports. I have collected all info Objects with Option "Necessary Objects" in one request.
In 2nd Request, i have selected Data target with the Option "Data Flow before", so that i can get all the objects from Datasource to Data target. By Default, the Info Objects Checkboxs are disabled and transport requests are displayed for Infobjects alone.
My Query is, there is a info Object called 0PLANT, which is having seperate data flow for master data. Do i need to install seperately for Master data flow. ie)0PLANT_ATTR of transfer rules and other Objects.
Or it will automatically be installed while collecting the 1st request itself.Please help on this issue.

HEllo,
First check whether 0PLANT is already in the prod box and whether its loading. Its a part of global master data and there are chances that it already may be in use.
If so then there is no need to capture and re send it.
Secondly, if its not available till prod, then you need to analyze whether you really need to load 0PLANT master, if your requirement does need it then only you need to capture it and sent it ahead.
Check your first request and verify if its already captured. If so then no need to capture it again, rather the system wont allow you to capture the objects which are already locked in some other active transport request.

Hi
 first copy all the data & co-files in the necessary directories as specified earlier.
Steps to Import a Request
1. Go to Transport Management screen, using STMS transaction code.
2. Go to Import queue. Overview  Import (F5)
3. Now in the import queues select the appropriate queue, into which the request has to be imported.
4. Then select the queue into which that particular request has to me moved. And refresh that queue to see latest updates. Then select for that particular request, and click that truck icon (import request).
5. And select the necessary options in the window and click ok.
Note
In synchronous mode, the request will assigned to a dedicated dialog or batch process, which is blocked until import has ended.
In asynchronous mode, the request will not be assigned to any dialog or batch process, any work process which is in waiting state will handle that.
Conditional Imports
Conditional imports can be done at OS level commands with the number associated with u describes the condition for transports; here Basis can select multiple options at a time.
0 Imported transport requests are not deleted from buffer
1 Ignore that the change request has already been imported
2 Overwrite originals
6 Overwrite objects in unconfirmed repairs.
8 Ignore restrictions based on table classification
9 Ignore the fact that the system is locked for this type of transport.
At Application level (Transaction STMS) user can state the conditions while importing the request on following screen.
6. We will see truck icon in the request status.
7. After import is completed, we can see the return code of the request in RC column.
8. If the request ended with errors, then check the log files for details of the error.
9. If the request is terminated, then the corresponding data & co files are missing or some log file will be missing. If the data & file are place, try re-importing the request.

Need help with transporting User Exit Variable in CMOD ZXRSRU01

Hello Gurus.,
I changed the existing user exit variable in CMOD ZXRSRU01.,before changing neither it ask for any transport request, nor when I activated the include program .
Well., I tried this........I went to goto-> Object Directory Entry.,
changed the Package and person responsible for and then it asked for transport request...but this dint work...
Now., how can I capture the changes in a transport request, so that, i can move the changes to production system?
is there anyway to solve my problem?

Thanks for ur help VIKRAM...i solved the issue...the changes are captured in someother request, but it was not showing in the Version Management.'
I checked the Lock Overview in the Object DIrectory Entry and found out that it was capturing in different request. I released the request and when I tried to change the code, it asked for new transport request.
It worked..

Need help help with Transports

Hello BW Gurus
I am looking for some documentation which gives checklist on transport.
suppose I have done the transports to production and everything went
well, but is there any way to validate that ?
is there any checklist to make sure my transports are not effecting to
previous objects available in BW.
Today after doing the transports of some of objects in QA there is
problem with some of the queries, which were working properly
previously.
Now there is problem in header data in queries. so I am trying to
figure out what precaution we should take to check my new transport is
not effect on in any way to existing system

Hi Krish,
When you transport objects on which there are queries dependent, please remember the following few points:
1) check whether there are any routines, customer exits written for that if it so they have to be transported first in a separate request followed by your object request.
2) All objects depending on a logic have to folow the logic in the transport request.
3) Be carefull about the objects which are source system dependent.
4) Allways try to have diff package for AWB objects, Roles, Queries etc.. otherwise this area is error prone.

Need Help with Transporting Playlists Back to I-Tunes

If anyone can help with this issue, I would really appreciate it. Here's my situation:
After many long hours organizing my playlists on I-Tunes, my pc malfunctioned and I needed a complete software overhaul. Therefore, I have had to reinstall all software programs on my computer...including I-Tunes. Due to these procedures, I have lost all of my playlists on I-Tunes.
I did manage to save all of my songs to an external hard drive, and I have copied them back to my I-Tunes library (albeit without any playlists). What I would like to be able to do is transfer the organized playlists from my ipod back to I-Tunes to avoid a massive reorganization project.
I should point out that hardly any of my music has come from buying songs on I-Tunes so the "Transfer Purchases" option does not seem a viable option.

Aside from the method I already mentioned in this thread, there is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Other free programs are Pod Player, SharePod and Floola.

Need immediate help for transport!!!

I have a system with a development, test, and production server. I have an sca file that I import into Development and everything works fine here. I am able to see my changes on the dev server that it was deployed to. However, now I want to move it to the test server and when ever I go to the consolidation tab and do an import-check and import, I get the following from the log file and I'm not quite sure what this means:

So it says that the import finished and when I got to the Assembly tab, it has an older version in there and I cannot get it to recognize the newest version that I have. It lets me assemble, but it is working on an older version. Any ideas how this can be resolved?

Select the request and go to details on assembly tab and see whether you have the required objects with latest date.

when i import queue and transport queue from dev to prd ,error show:

In a client System while transporting from development to quality the following two errors ended with number 8
Please could you give cause and Solution
1. ABAP Dictionary Activation (manually the checked the tables and tables were activated)
2. Generation of Programs and Screens.

Hi,
While transporting the Tables , we have to take the special care.
See to it all the data elemnts , domains are activated in the dev server.
While transporting the programs , screens etc we need to check whether all the dependant includes function modules etc are transported together.
some times the data elements ,Function modules etc may not be present or active in the quality server.
To find out that,you can check the log in the quality server.
Or in the dev server you can check the activation log for each server.
Feel free to ask any other info..

Help in transports of wrkflow

Hi ,
I created a workflow say number 10 in system A for req of x and later i transported it to system B.
The problem is B already had a workwflow number 10 for serving the purpose of y.
Now the TR has overwritten the workflow in B.
What can be done to retrive the old workflow.

Try to find the transport order of workwflow number 10 that exists in the system B (preceding the date of overwriting) and transportation again this version to the system B.
Or
If the system B can make changes, edit the workwflow number 10 and select and active the previous version (preceding the date of overwriting) .

User Exit Or BADi for Ship-to-Party's Transportation Zone F4 Help in VA01

Dear Experts,
I want to change the F4 help of Transportation Zone in Ship-to-Party Address in VA01.
I have to show the possible entries from Z table which is compared by the city of that particular customer.
Explanation:
1. Go to Transaction VA01.
2. Enter the values in first screen and Enter.
3. select the sold to party and ship to party and Enter.
4. Enter any item in item level.
5. Press Display Doc. Header ICON.
6. Go to partners tab.
7. Double click on Ship to party.
8. One Pop up screen will open. (ie. Address from Master Data for Ship-to-Party (Document Header).
9. Press F4 help for the field Transportation Zone. (It will show the possible entries from the table TZONE (All records).
10. I want to show the possible entries only for that particular city.(For a particular city there may be more than one transportation zone. I will maintain these records in Z table ).
I have tried all user exit from the program MV45AFZZ and ADDRESS_SUBSCREEN BAdI. But I could not get the solution.
Please help help me to do this.

Transport Help

Hi Friends,
I need help in transporting technical system and business systems from dev to qa and to prod.
I have successfully imported products and software components into qa and prod and successfully imported repository design objects in to qa and prod repositories. When coming to the directory objects, i am facing the following issue.
In Dev, i have technical system called TS_EDCCLNT100 and Business system BS_EDCCLNT100
But in QA, i have technical system TS_EQCCLNT100 and Business System BS_EQCCLNT100
In Prod, TS_EPCCLNT100 and BS_EPCCLNT100 respectively.
In DEV all directory objects are associated with BS_EDCCLNT100, but when come to QA the business system name is BS_EQCCLNT100.
Pls advise me.

Transport reruest problem............

Hi ,
I want to transport 3 queries to production , all three uses the same variable , so when I formatted the transport request for first one everything went fine , when I did for second those variables get locked by previous request . Do I need to wait until the first one goes to production ? OR can I transport all three at the same time but in this get those variables has get unlocked first by previous request. How do we do that?

Hi Jeetu,
If transported each one by one every time the varaible will get locked by one query. And your other TR will not be correct so you will have to release first to make other transport rquest correct or unlock the variable which is not so useful.
Just transport all the query through one transport request in transport connection
or you will have to make three transports every time to make this variable unlock.

Customizing entries not getting transported

Hi Experts,
We are trying to transport the enhanced revenue account determination entries in CRM landscape. The transport rquest is generated but the entries are not transported after the import of the transport in quality.
Also we are facing similar issue for transporting Controlling integration entries maintained in ECC for CRM transactions.
If anybody has faced similar issues, could you please share the experience and solution for these issues.

Hi,
To Transport the Customization Changes you need to create the Customization Request. And in that Customization Request you need to lock your Cust. changes. Using the Transport Request Organizer you need to release that Request.
But before you release that request, check that there is any kind of error scenarios. There are various checks that happens before the transport. You need run the checks.
If the checks are clear and still the transport aren't happening properly, you need to consult the BASIS Technical Consultant responsible for the maintainence of the System Landscape of your system. He will be the right person to guide you on this.
