Help please: What gets pinged - Connection Pool

I have a connection pool set up and can "ping" it, but I cannot seem to use it in my application.
What exactly gets "pinged" (what address)?
For example, my setup looks like this:
Data Source Class Name - net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbcx.JtdsDataSource
Resource Type - javax.sql.XADataSource
serverName - localhost
port - 1433
datasourceName - jdbc/testSqlServerDatasource
databaseName - testdatabase
Under the connection pools in the Application Server Admin Console, I can "ping" this connection.
When I go out to a DOS prompt and try to ping, I cannot. What I tried was:
ping localhost:1433/jdbc/testSqlServerDatasource
ping localhost:1433/testSqlServerDatasource
ping localhost/testSqlServerDatasource
What exactly should I be able to "ping"?
Note too that I have a JDBC Resource set up (also using the Admin Console) with a JNDI Name of testSqlServerDatasource.

The Ping in connection pool actualy tries to establish the connection with the database for which the configuration is provided in the Connection Pool page. The ping on DOS command is not same with what you actualy do in Connection Pool page. The DOS ping "helps in determining TCP/IP Networks IP address as well as determine issues with the network and assists in resolving them".

Have you tried re-booting your WiFi router ? It may seem OK on your PC, but a re-boot may help.

my connection pool setting is

I just wonder
1) Cannot get a connection, pool error Timeout waiting for idle object-> cause by connection pool leaking or other problem.
2) Setting the maxactive to -1 ( suggestion from Google) , if I set my connection to ulimit , waht should I put on minIdle="2"
3) How can I test my connection pool have problem or not ? is

If you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then the steps half-way down this page should let you reset them : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5312
If you don't have a rescue email address (you won't be able to add one until you can answer 2 of your questions) then you will need to contact iTunes Support / Apple to get the questions reset.

The censorship in regards to certain apps not being available in your country is by your country, not by Apple.
Due to various laws and licensing in each country, in order to have an iTunes store account in a particular country you must have a credit card with a billing address in that country. If this were up to Apple, there would be no such requirement and there would be only one iTunes store for the entire world, but various laws, regulations, and licensing issues in each country, this is required by Apple.

What is the "right" location? I'll assume you mean your app's WEB-INF/lib.
Sounds like your Java code isn't closing statements and/or connections properly, or perhaps you need to increase the number of connections in the pool. I'm guessing it's the former.

HELP - DB2 v9 & App Server PE 9.0 - PING Connection Pool Failure - HELP

I've been playing around with Studio Creator and DB2 v9 without any issues.
So I figured I would installed App Server PE 9 and use this as my production server that I would deploy to from studio creator.
However, in my efforts to set up db2/v9 I have been trying to ping a connection pool without any luck. I get the following message:
Operation 'pingConnectionPool' failed in 'resources' Config Mbean. Target exception message: Connection could not be allocated because: [sunm][DB2 JDBC Driver]Resource Limits Reached( ALLOCATE MEMORY FOR NEW SQLSTT FAILED ). Diagnostic Info: FUNCTION ID = 0049 , PROBE POINT = 0400 , TRACE POINT = 0030 , SUBCODE1 = 8B0F0000, SUBCODE2 = 78A68A98, SUBCODE3 = 00000000, ERROR MSG = Parser: Memory allocation error.
My datasource class name is com.sun.sql.jdbcx.db2.DB2DataSource.
And my resource type is javax.sql.datasource
I have copied smbase.jar, smdb2.jar and smutil.jar into c:\sun\appserver\lib
and I have all of the properties (serverName, portNumber, databaseName, user, password) created and set accordingly.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here is how I got the DB2 Express-C and Sun PE 9.0 to work. ( at least base connectivity wise )
1. ) You have to have at least the DB2 Client installed on the system that will be communicating to the DB2 instance.
2.) The following jars will be needed ( depending on the driver type used) . db2java.zip, db2jcc.jar, and db2jcc_license_cu.jar and use them in the App Server ->JVM settings -> Path Settings -> Classpath Suffix
3.) The next setup is dependent on the Type driver you use
I used the Type 4 and this is the resource setup I used.
Connection Pool:
Name: DB2TestPool
Datasource Classname: com.ibm.db2.jcc.DB2SimpleDataSource
Resource Type: javax.sql.ConnectionPoolDataSource
Properties:
user: xxxxxx
password: xxxxxx
databaseName: TEST
serverName: <hostname of machine>

driverType: 4

JDBC Resource:

With this configuration I was able to ping the database as well as connect to create an entity bean from a table. This should give you a starting point.
I have yet to deploy my application, but should be doing that sometime today to verify that a connection can be made and used from within the application.

I cannot browse almost any website without receiving this error. I've tried the adjusting the date/clock and I've deleting the cert8. data in the profile for firefox. Nothing is working.
Also, when I view certificates, it says that it won't be enabled until 7/21/2014?? What's up with that?

You can retrieve the certificate and check details like who issued certificates and expiration dates of certificates.
*Click the link at the bottom of the error page: "I Understand the Risks"
Let Firefox retrieve the certificate: "Add Exception" -> "Get Certificate".
*Click the "View..." button and inspect the certificate and check who is the issuer of the certificate.
You can see more Details like intermediate certificates that are used in the Details pane.
If "I Understand the Risks" is missing then this page may be opened in an (i)frame and in that case try the right-click context menu and use "This Frame: Open Frame in New Tab".
*Note that some firewalls monitor (secure) connections and that programs like Sendori or FiddlerRoot can intercept connections and send their own certificate instead of the website's certificate.
*Note that it is not recommended to add a permanent exception in cases like this, so only use it to inspect the certificate.

Need help badly- Keep getting error: connection refused.

I'm developing an online multiplayer game, and everytime I try to use the multiplayer capabilities I get this kind of error. I have created a mini-connection class just to test if my program is working right, and apparently not. I have not included disconnection object in the following classes, since they are unneccessary since I cannot connect in the first place. First I ran my Servertest.class, which runs up to "Waiting for Connection", then waits, then I ran my ClientTest.class, which always gives me the error at teh bottom of the page.

Your server listens on port 12347. Your client tries to connect to a different port. No server is listening on the other port, so the connection is refused. Solution: make client connect to port 12347.

Help please, system crash when connecting new iPod

I just got a new iPod Classic 160 GB. I connected it to my computer by the USB, and it said I needed the newest version of iTunes. I downloaded from iTunes the lastest 7.4.3.1 today. I first installed it and tried to use it without success. I then uninstalled all iPod and iTunes programs, updated and ran Spybot, and updated and ran Virusscan. My computer is now totally clean. I then re-installed iTunes, but I am having the same problem. When I plug my iPod into the computer, the screen goes temporarily black, and then I get a blue screen error code Stop: 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0xF787D9B6, 0xF30BC6CC, 0xF30BC3C8).

Well, I forgot to de-authorize my machine when I was upgrading to Vista, and remembered only after I was done.
Now I have two computers authorized under my account (although they are the same machine).
Speaking of which, any idea how I ought to de-authorize the non-existant computer?

Help please - cannot get IP address

Hi everyone, I have a WRT54GS router with WEP encryption. I have 2 laptops, both with XP. I cannot get one of the laptops to get an IP connection. It connects to the router, but when I run ipconfig, I get the following error message Windows IP Configuration An internal error occured. A device attached to the system is not functioning. Please contact Microsoft product support services for further help. I have many years of IT experience, and I've also had my network admin brother help me, but we can't figure it out. I have entered the WEP address correctly and have unchecked the box "Key is provided for me automatically". The key index is the same on both PC's. We have released the IPconfig. The PC that can't connect has been recently acquired and has never successfully got an IP connection on this wireless LAN. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks so much, Lynne

Sounds like an issue on the computer itself not the network. You might need to uninstall reinstall your wireless card.

HELP PLEASE! DSL isnt connecting..lights are flashing

Hi, I am hoping someone can help. My DSL was turned on the first of Feb and I just got a computer today and tried to setup my connection. I installed everything and plugged everything in and it isnt connecting.
I called verizon and they said it isnt on their end.... its something maybe with my phone line they are sending a technician monday. I hate to be mean but they didnt quiet sound all that sure LOL... anyways the lights on my modem are flashing... the data light and the DSL light.. the internet light isnt on at all... I have a westell 6100G I am connected directly into it.. no router. Also i am showing that I am connected at the bottom right of my screen with the 2 computers flashing says im connected at 100mbps....dont know if that means anything but i thought i would add it.
Is there any settings I can change? i went into the web address for the modem and it is set to PPPoE. I usually have cable internet so I dont know all that about the PPPoE...
If anyone could give me any ideas if there is anything I can change or whatever to possibly avoid a tech and get it working on my own.... I am currently running a dial up connection to troubleshoot my problem so if my dial up will hinder any changes please let me know.... thanks

it sounds like the modem is not plugged into the phone line.
all of the lights are going to initally be on for a split second ( to let u know that the LEDS work )
if the internet light is not on, its not recieving an internet signal ( just like on your cabel modem )
the modem and computer are talking to each other ( data light flashing a lil bit ) and then they dont have anything to say to each other ( data light stopped flashing )
i know its probably plugged into the phone line at the wall, but double check the connection, the cable and all that stuff, the problem probably lies somewhere around there.
especially if verizon said its not on there end
... and by the way, i like turtles
