But what if I were using IIOP - why does it not work when I give the url as iiop://hostname:port?

    I cannot understand why this exception is coming though all parameters are defined correctly
    Any inputs?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    1. I believe you need to use 5<xx>04 instead of 5<xx>05.
    2. Make sure user has proper rights for deployment.
    @ John: Runtime Systems should be the CE systems.
    Hope this helps.

  • Issues with remote client accessing EJB3

    Hi folks,
    I tested Weblogic 10.3 these days and had some trouble to access a stateless session bean (EJB3) via a remote Java client. My development system is Windows Vista 32bit.
    First, Weblogic doesn't like blanks in folder names! The Test Client throws an exception complaining that the business interface is not found:

    In fact, the compiled class file of the business interface is located on the file system in a path that contains a blank. Debugging session shows that the internal weblogic class RemoteBusinessIntfGenerator fails to open the class file because of a wrong used URL file reference. If the path contains no blank, everything works fine. This is obviously a bug!
    Second, generics don't work in the business interface. As soon as I insert a generic return type or method parameter, I get an exception at runtime, no matter if the actually called method is generic or not:
    java.lang.NullPointerException

    Third problem is already known by Oracle (CR373734): when using JPA and serializing entities to the remote client, serialization fails until you implement a writeObject() method in every entity.
    What is your experience concerning these issues? For my opinion quite severe bugs...
    Cheers, Thomas

    But most of the O/S like Linux ,Solaries does not allow blankspaces in the classpath. Only the O/S that does allow is Windows. and there are a lot of issues regarding the spaces in the classpath.
    If a blank in the classpath exist in the admin console as a remote start argument for a managed node, a patch exist.its CR375981.
    But for the above case 808498 (blank for remote client classpath) Engineering did not given any patch and asked to go with the work around ie not to use a blank in the classpath.
    Thanks !!

  • Remote client copy fails.

    Remote client copy fails.
    The error message and info is given below. Help me to proceed.
    Client copy
    The client copy you started has terminated
    Client Copy could not start because of Repository differences
    Diagnosis
    The table definitions differ between the systems. These differences mean that a copy of the data can cause a data loss and system inconsistencies. Differences occur when further developments were not transported or were copied between different maintenance levels.
    Procedure
    Transport all the developments of table structures between the systems using the Transport Organizer and bring your system to the same development level.
    It is observed that some tables are missing in the target system. How do I copy the table structures to the target system?
    Thanks in advance

    Hello Ashraf,
    There are repository differences between you source and traget system.
    If you want to get the list of repository differences, then run a RFC check before you execute remote clinet copy.
    You have to then remove these repository differences before you start with the remote client copy.
    to remove the difference you have to:
    "Transport all the developments of table structures between the systems using the Transport Organizer and bring your system to the same development level" as mentioned above
    I would recommend you to go for Export / Import rather than Remote client copy.
    There are several advantages of export import method over remote clinet copy

  • Invoking a BPEL Process via Java Remote Client

    Hi everyone!
    I want to invoke a BPEL process from my Java Application which is not running on the same Application-Server (not the same Java RE) as the BPEL processmanager does.
    For Applications running on the same AS there is the IDeliveryService class to which you can send a XML-request in order to invoke a BPEL process.
    Is the only way to invoke a BPEL Process from an external application to use a webservice client or is there a similar class for java remote clients?
    For access to the users worklist I use
    IWorkflowServiceClient wfClient = WorkflowServiceClientFactory.getWorkflowServiceClient(WorkflowServiceClientFactory.REMOTE_CLIENT);
    it works fine an I thought there might be a similar way to invoke a bpel process via remote too.
    If anyone knows if it's possible or not please tell me ;)

  • Obtain remote client IP address from webservice with WL 7.0.7

    Hi,
    Please Help!!
    I need to get the remote client IP address from inside a webservice but with WLS 7.0.7. I know it is possible with WL 8:
    WebServiceContext wsContext = WebServiceContext.currentContext();
    WebServiceHttpSessionImpl vHttp = (WebServiceHttpSessionImpl)wsContext.getSession();
    vHttp.request.getRemoteAddr();
    But WL 7 has not available WebServiceContext.currentContext() method.
    Thank you very much

    This was logged as an enhancement which I believe was hoping to make it into one of the later 6i releases of forms. Ref:<Bug:856958> if you can access via metalink or Support.

  • Error retrieving JDBC connection from remote client (WLS 10.0)

    Hallo,
    I get an error when I try to retrieve a JDBC connection from a WLS datasource using a remote client. My Weblogic server version is: WebLogic Server 10.0 MP1 Thu Oct 18 20:17:44 EDT 2007 1005184

    Hashtable<String,String> ctxEnv = null;
    InitialContext ctx = null;
    DataSource dataSource = null;
    Connection con = null;
    ctxEnv = new Hashtable<String,String>();
    ctxEnv.put(InitialContext.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY, "weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory");
    ctxEnv.put(InitialContext.PROVIDER_URL, "t3://localhost:7001");
    ctx = new InitialContext(ctxEnv);
    dataSource = (DataSource) ctx.lookup("datasources/XXX");
    con = dataSource.getConnection();

    Can please anyone tell me what's going on there? What really astonishes me is that the class mentioned in the stacktrace is neither present in the wlfullclient.jar nor in the weblogic.jar, but using the weblogic.jar everything works fine. Any hint would be appreciated so much ...
    Here is the log written when is created the wlfullclient.jar:

    Hi. You should open an official support case,
    but it may be that we do not support
    external client JDBC with the client jar.Actually, I misspoke. I think we do supply a client
    jar, and that may be true
    what I said, but I see you're making your own. Can
    you find out what jar you're
    loading the InstrumentationSupport class from? That's
    the original location of
    the error, and that class doesn't exist in 10.0.Hi Joe, thanks for your reply.
    First of all, let me clarify what we did and why we did it: We have a stand-alone client application that needs to communicate with a Weblogic server using the t3 protocol (we don't want IIOP or HTTP tunneling). According to the official BEA documentation (see http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs100/client/basics.html and http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs100/client/t3.html) we needed to create the wlfullclient.jar file. We did this using the Weblogic JAR Builder Tool (see http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs100/client/jarbuilder.html). Unfortunatley we discovered the problem mentioned in my original post when we tried to run the client with that wlfullclient.jar.
    Regarding your classloading question: The InstrumentationSupportImpl class is located in the wlfullclient.jar, so it does exist in WLS 10.0 (it is also contained in the weblogic.jar). Unfortunately this JAR does not contain the required class "weblogic.diagnostics.instrumentation.InstrumentationDebug". I searched for this class and found it in the OSGI module "com.bea.core.diagnostics.instrumentor_1.0.1.0.jar" shipped with the Weblogic server. Obviously the JAR Builder Tool did not include the contents of this OSGI bundle into the wlfullclient.jar. I tried to include this OSGI bundle into the classpath of the client app manually (just for testing purposes), but this onyl resultet in another NoClassDefFoundError. This time the class "com.bea.objectweb.asm.Constants" could not be found.
    What astonishes me is the fact that the connection retrieval works fine when we only have the weblogic.jar in the client applications classpath, but fails when we have the wlfullclient.jar in the classpaht. It seems that the t3 communication is handled completely different, depending on what JARs I have in the classpath. Also, JMS communication works fine in both cases (i.e. for the weblogic.jar and the wlfullclient.jar). The only thing that causes problems (at least as far as we have discovered) is getting a JDBC connection from a datasource. I simply fail to see why this is the case.
    Best regards,
    DirkInteresting. I hope the official support case solves your problem.
    I would like to dig further, but it's too far afield for me with
    the workload I have at the moment.

  • Classpath for remote client

    Hi,
    Is there a minimum package of classes (.jar, .zip) that are required for
    remote client application to call EJBs in WL 5.1 container ?
    My remote application works fine if I include WL_HOME/classes in its
    classpath. The problem is that WL_HOME/classes directory is huge. I am
    looking for some lightweight package of classes that would contain only
    client side implementation of WL's RMI, JNDI and EJB - just enough to
    call EJBs from remote client application.
    I couldn't find such .jar in the WL 5.1 installation.
    Can anybody help ?
    thanks,
    Rafal

    These is no such jar provided by BEA. You can try to create one using
    verbose2zip: http://www.weblogic.com/docs51/techstart/utils.html#verbosetozip
    If network speed allows for it, you can network classload from WebLogic :
    http://dima.dhs.org/misc/ThinClient.jsp or
    http://dima.dhs.org/misc/ThinClient2.jsp
    (this will download few hundred k, so it is not acceptable for a client
    connected via 28.8 modem).

    Hi,
    If u goes to room directory in collaboration, there is a tab called Restricted Rooms. End of the room name there is context menu if u click that, it will show the menu there you can see the option called “Request Membership”. If you click that, corresponding room owner will receive the mail if he/she enabled the mail properties.
    If the answer helps your Question, provide the points.

  • How to expose JMX MBeans To Remote Clients ?

    Hi all,
    New to JMX...need some configuration guidance :)
    I'm trying to add a new JMX service - the will invoke an already existing service on my application...but I can't find a good example for exposing JMX MBeans to remote clients...
    I found this page http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/en/JMXMBeanRemoteProxy?action=e&windowstate=normal&mode=view (fairly old...) but I'm not sure how to "create a proxy for the MBean and bind it under MyServiceInvokeTarget? JNDI name"
    Where can I find a good example for exposing app interface to JBoss JMX ?
    Thanks,

    I don't use JBoss, but because you have not received a reply yet, I'll throw some possible references out. You might try [Section 2.7|http://docs.jboss.org/jbossas/jboss4guide/r2/html/ch2.chapter.html#ch2.remoteaccess.sect] ("Remote Access to Services, Detached Invokers") of the [JBoss 4 Application Server Guide|http://docs.jboss.org/jbossas/jboss4guide/r5/html/] (PDF) to get more information. I listed some additional references that a JBoss developer might want to check out in [another entry in this same forum|http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5295861&tstart=0] as well as [still another entry in this forum|http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5298128&tstart=0]. The [JBoss Wiki|http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/] entry [JMX_Remoting_service_configuration|http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/JMX_Remoting_service_configuration] looks like a potentially useful resource for using JMX on JBoss. Another entry on that same Wiki (JBossMX) states "JBoss MX supports version 1.2 of the JMX specification (JSR 003) since JBoss versions 3.2.5 and 4.0.0. *Support for the JMX Remote API (JSR 160) is under development*" (I added the bold emphasis). This last entry links to another entry ([Using the RMI Adaptor|http://wiki.jboss.org/wiki/UsingTheRMIAdaptor]) that might be exactly what you need.
