Help report based in colums lov

Hi,
I'm trying to create a report and create a filter for columns and the value of these column, it's something like that:
P52_C1 (select list) return the name of the columns of the table.
LOV:
select column_name display_value, column_name return_value
from all_tab_columns
where table_name = 'table_name'
order by 1
P52_C2 (select list)
LOV:
select :P52_C1 display_value, :P52_C1 return_value
from table_name
order by 1
In the item P52_C1 the query is working fine, but in the second item (P52_C2) query dont return the expected result, is returning the name of column a lot of times.
Anyone have any idea.
Thanks

Hi,
use
select &P52_C1 display_value., &P52_C1 return_value.
from table_name
order by 1instead. But keep in mind that this opens up your application for SQL injections. Have a look at http://st-curriculum.oracle.com/tutorial/SQLInjection/index.htm to see how you can use DBMS_ASSERT on your dynamic columns to avoid SQL injection.

  • Update report based on selected LOV value

I've searched the forum but could not find the answer how to implement the following:
I have a form with a popup LOV, element P203_LOCATION_ID, which is populated from a query. When the user picks a value from it, a report in the same page should be refreshed. The report has query "select * from distances where d < 1 AND l = :P203_LOCATION_ID " .
I created a dynamic action which would refresh the report on change of P203_LOCATION_ID , but the report does not change.
After looking here, I made a hidden variable P203_SEL_LOCATION which is populated by dynamic action on change, with javascript $v('P203_LOCATION_ID') , and then a second rule in the dynamic action should refresh the report. The query in the report is changed to use :P203_SEL_LOCATION as a parameter.
Although, when made display-only, P203_SEL_LOCATION does change (and console.log shows the selected ID), the report does not see that change and remains empty. I tried both IR and classic report, same result.
Any help would be appreciated, how to make change in Items visible to the report?

    Hi Mila,
I assume that you have checked that the report refresh process is happening and that by "empty" you meant that the report was not fetching any records whereas it should have for the value you see in the page.
It could be because the changed values is not is not yet set in the session for the report to see(report fetches the bind value of the item P203_SEL_LOCATION from the session).
You will need to add the item's value to the session before firing the report refresh.
One way to do that would be to add a PLSQL process as true action with the sequence order lesser than the refresh.
In the items to submit_ , give P203_SEL_LOCATION
And the process needn't do anything(what we wanted was the P203_SEL_LOCATION be set, which would be done before executing this PLSQL)
    BEGIN
    NULL;
    END;Hope that solves your problem

One thing you might want to take a look at are the format masks for dates. There is a to_char format mask for dates of 'Q' which returns a number 1-4 for the quarter the date is a part of ie 1 for Jan-Mar, 2 for Apr-Jun, etc. It's based on the calendar year, but you could doing something with addition and mod to change the order if you like. You can then use the resulting column as a break column in your report.
    Hope that helps,
    Toby

  • Dynamic query table for report based on LOV selected

    Hi,
Need some suggestion and guidance how to dynamically query table via lov for report .
    Scenario:
Table, TABLE_LIST, has tablename (table in DB) and filter (for where clause) column. The TABLENAME_LOVE is derived from table TABLE_LIST.
    SELECT TABLENAME D, TABLENAME R FROM TABLE_LIST
In Page 2,a page select list item,P2_TABLENAME to use TABLENAME_LOV
All data in tables in the table_list have identical structure (columns, triggers, primary key, and so on).
I want to have the report region query from the table based on selected LOV.
    Example,
    Tablename Filter
    TB1
    CD2 ACTIVE='Y'
When select TB1, the report regin will query based on TB1.
When select CD2, the report regin will query based on CD2 WHERE ACTIVE='Y'
    Question:
How can I query based on &P2_TABLENAME. WHERE &P2_FILTER.
    Like
    select col1, col2 from &P2_TABLENAME WHERE &P2FILTER
Greatly appreciate any suggestion and some guidance.

    Hi,
You should always post your Apex version, DB version and other information as suggested in the FAQ.
And the moment you talk report you should state whether it is IR or Classic.
As for your query, have you explored the Report type "SQL Query (PL/SQL function body returning SQL query)" ?
That might be a good fit for what you are trying to achieve.

I am trying to have a column in my report link to a document on my network when the column in the report is clicked. I have a table that contains a row for each document I want to link to. The URL to the document is stored in a column named NDDL.DOC_LINK. I would like the text "Linked" to appear as the value in the report column and to be a hyper link to the document.
The report is a "Classic Report" based on PLSQL retuning a SQL stament. I am on Apex version 4.2.1.00.08
I have been fighting with the '''''' stuff and can not get it worked out. have pasted the line in question but I can not get it to display correctly so I am hoping someone can help out.

  • Error while associating a report column with a LOV

    Hi All,
I have a region based on a SQL Report. One of the columns of this report is based upon a LOV. While running the page, i get the following error -
    report error:
ORA-20001: Error fetching column value: ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error.
I have checked, the report is fetching the correct data.
Also, the LOV base table has data corresponding to the value of the column of the report.
What could be the problem. Please suggest.
    Thanks
    Monika

    Hi Scott,
I'm also facing the same problem as Monika.
I have an LOV with the following query which returns 8774 records, when I copied and pasted those records into a text file it shows as 220KB in size.
    SELECT
    p.name d,
    p.pers_id r
    FROM people p,
    people_contacts pc
WHERE SYSDATE BETWEEN NVL(start_date,SYSDATE) AND NVL(end_date,SYSDATE)
    AND     p.used_by_orc = 'Y'
    AND     pc.pers_id = p.pers_id
    AND     pc.group_id IN ('ORC','SHARED')
    ORDER BY 1
After searching the forum, I think there's a 32K limitation on the fetched rows in tabular forms, can you please let me know how to overcome this problem?
I'm selecting the persid in the (tabular form) SQL query updatable report.
I'm trying to display the field as Name instead of PERSID by changing it to select list(based on named LOV) or whichever way it can work.
    Please help me.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Second LOV based on First LOV in Oracle APEX tabular Form

    Hi,
I had created a tabular form in which I am having two LOV's. This form is based on a query.
I had created a javascript function which internally calls AJAX and populates the second LOV based on the value selected in first LOV when onchange.
But the issue is, when the user recalls this APEX page to view the details or edit the details, the second LOV shows all the values instead of showing only the values related to first LOV.
In the second LOV query I am trying to write the below query.
    select function_name fn
    ,function_code_id fci
    from catering_function_codes
    where function_type_id = NVL(#FUNCTION_TYPE_ID#,function_type_id)
    order by to_number(function_code_id)
in which #FUNCTION_TYPE_ID# is the value of first LOV. But I am getting the below error.
    report error:
ORA-20001: Error fetching column value: ORA-06550: line 1, column 187:
    PL/SQL: ORA-00911: invalid character
    ORA-06550: line 1, column 7:
    PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignored
How can you refer to the Second LOV the value of First LOV in a report based tabular form?
Kindly let me know if you do not understand the issue.
Please help me in this issue.
    Thank you
    Regards
    Dev

    Hi Roel,
Thank you for the quick reply.
I used the query as given by you. This time it is not giving any error but showing all the values in the second LOV irrespective of what ever value is present in the first LOV
This is an apex tabular form which is generated by apex based on a query. The controls will be dynamically generated by APEX for each row. How can we hard code the control name to :P99_FUNCTION_TYPE_ID?
Please help me in this issue. Thank you

    Found out...
Originaly one search field was POPUP LOV type. Later we change them to "Text Field", bud LOV definition remains ...regardles it points to LOV which was not in use now.
When remove LOV reference and delete the definition ...all works like a charm...

    Hello,
My assumption: You have Company Code(T001-BUKRS) in the selection-screen.
Plz check the code snippet below:
    DATA:
IT_PLANT TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF WERKS,
    WA_PLANT LIKE LINE OF IT_PLANT.
    DATA:
    IT_R_WERKS TYPE RANGE_T_WERKS_D,
    R_WERKS TYPE RANGE_S_WERKS_D.
    SELECT BWKEY INTO TABLE IT_PLANT
    FROM T001K
WHERE BUKRS = '1000'. "--> Here you have to use your sel. scr. parameter
    IF SY-SUBRC = 0.

  • Bold a single row in a Report based on SQL Query

Should be easy? So, how do I bold a single row in a report based on SQL query without creating a new template or writing Java for the page? What is the Tabular Form Element "Element Attributes" field for? Or what am I supposed to put in there to make it do anything?

One way to do this is to add a hidden column to your report which contains the formatting value, for example:
    select empno
    , ename
    , sal
    , decode(empno,1,'font-weight:bold','font-weight:normal') style
    from emp
    Hide the STYLE column.
Then you can use this column for each column in Column Formatting > HTML expression in this way:
    <span style="#STYLE#">#SAL#</span>
Unfortunately you have to do this for each colum you want to appear bold.
    good luck,

  • Running Aging reports based on Document date in 2007

    Hi All,
I have an issue while running the Receivables aging report in the 2007 version. The customer usually runs the reports based on the document date. Document date holds more importance in their case.
However, in the 2007 version, the aging report is totally governed by the posting date. For example, if I change the aging date, the posting date also changes to the aging date and viceversa. If I want to change the aging date to 01/31/09, the posting date u2018Tou2019 automatically changes to 01/31/09 and when we run the report, it will bring in all transactions until the posting date of 01/31/09.
But, the requirement is to leave the posting date as blank and give the document date u2018Tou2019 01/31/09. This will then pull all transactions until the document date of 01/31/09 irrespective of the posting date.
As a result, when you run the balance sheet with the document date of 01/31/09, receivables show a different balance. This discrepancy is due to the fact that AR Receivable aging report forces to keep the Aging date = Posting date.
This was not the case in SAP 2005 version where we were allowed to key in the aging date and the document date to get results based on document date.
This is very critical as they have recently upgraded from 2005 to 2007 and they are unable to reconcile the balances out of Balance sheet and Aging.
    Please advise.
    Thanks,
    Payal

    Hi Jitin,
We tried that as well but no luck. There is still a discrepency between what the aging shows and what the BS shows. When we put the Aging date as 01/31/09 and Document date as 01/3109, the posting date 'To' is automatically filled with 01/31/09, so it basically searches for all transactions with the posting date 01/31/09 and document date 01/31/09. This is not the requirement as we do not want to consider the posting date at all while running the aging.
I also have some screenshots if I can share. I am not sure if I should report this to SAP for further investigation or am I missing something here.
    Thanks for your help.
    Regards,
    Payal

  • WebI report based on Universe upon SAP BEx Queries:Prompt issue

    Hi,
I am creating Web Intelligence report using Universe based on SAP Bex Queries. In WebI report I created a filter condition as I need to run report based on two specidc dates. I need to schedule report to run 2nd of every month to show data for last month. At present I have the following filter : date between 'Start Date' and 'End Date'. 'Start Date' should always be 'first date of previous month' and End Date be always must be 'Last date of previous Month'. How to do this. The solution I thought would be to create  variables at report/universe level ('first date of previous month' and 'Last date of previous Month') and use in the filter using 'Object from this Query' option. But this 'Object from this Query' option is missing in the prompt. Is there any work around to achieve this.? Could you please help me.
    Nanda Kishore

    Hi all,
I have a related question too.
I have 2 queries and need a Combined BEx query written on this for reporting. (WebI)
In the 2 queries, there is a Field which needs to be restricted.
But this field should not be restricted in the Combined BEx query.
So I thought of restricting the Field at the report level. But in this case, the user gets a prompt to enter a value for the field.
And this is not desirable as per the requirement.
COuld you please tell me if there is another way of handling this without the user being prompted to enter a value while the report is being run, but still I need selection at the Field level.
    Thanks and Regards,

    Hello,
My assumption: You have Company Code(T001-BUKRS) in the selection-screen.
Plz check the code snippet below:
    DATA:
IT_PLANT TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF WERKS,
    WA_PLANT LIKE LINE OF IT_PLANT.
    DATA:
    IT_R_WERKS TYPE RANGE_T_WERKS_D,
    R_WERKS TYPE RANGE_S_WERKS_D.
    SELECT BWKEY INTO TABLE IT_PLANT
    FROM T001K
WHERE BUKRS = '1000'. "--> Here you have to use your sel. scr. parameter
    IF SY-SUBRC = 0.
      SORT IT_PLANT BY WERKS.
    ENDIF.
    LOOP AT IT_PLANT INTO WA_PLANT.
    * Check the authority for the plant
      AUTHORITY-CHECK OBJECT 'M_MSEG_WMB'
               ID 'ACTVT' FIELD '03'
               ID 'WERKS' FIELD WA_PLANT-WERKS.
      IF SY-SUBRC = 0.
        R_WERKS-SIGN = 'I'.
        R_WERKS-OPTION = 'EQ'.
        R_WERKS-LOW = WA_PLANT-WERKS.
        APPEND R_WERKS TO IT_R_WERKS.
        CLEAR R_WERKS.
      ENDIF.
    ENDLOOP.
    IF IT_R_WERKS IS NOT INITIAL.
"Select data using the Plants for which user is authorised
    ELSE.
"User has no authority to display any Plant data
    ENDIF.
Hope this is of some help to you.
