Help required with DAQ and waveform generation

Hi,
I'm using DAQ 6024E card for waveform acquisition using LabVIEW 8.2 version. I've also attached my vi for your reference.
My next step is , I want to add another waveform to the acquired waveform, i.e. I mean to say if the acquired waveform is a sine wave with 60 Hz frequency and amplitude of 8V peak-to-peak, I want to finally display a wave which is 8V peak-to-peak with sinusoidally changing freuency.
To be more clear...I want a sine wave with frequency = 60 Hz + 1*sin( 2*pie**t).
As cane bveen seen in my vi, I can extract the phase and magnitude of the original acquired signal.
Can anyone help me out with this...as I'm not able to figureout how should I proceed next.

You'd probably want to use the DAQmx VI's instead of the Express VIs, when doing something more exotic. You can start by converting the existing Express VIs to code by opening their front panels and saving them as a VI.

What is the size of your hard disk? PSE 4 is a very old program and I suspect it is not able to access the entire hard disk on your machine. Just a thought here.

I have successfully installed all of my creative cloud apps with the exception being acrobat.
I cannot print from Indesign to PDF.
I have unistalled, reinstalled and still no Adobe Acrobat.
I now have to go back to Windows 8 and create the PDF's there.
Any one know how to get around this issue?

OSX has effectively killed the ability to print to pdf, (print to pdf eliminates most of the "Rich features" of current pdf).
Export from InDesign, always, excpet for the 1% of the time where you know why print to pdf would produce a better result.

Help required with connection / settings between a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum EX (soundcard) and a Creative DTT3500 Digital (5. speakers).
The problem
No sound from any of the speakers. (Exception can plug in headphones at front)
Background
My computer has been recently upgraded at my local computer shop and all programs re-installed (including driver update from Creative's website). However after reconnecting speakers and restoring the original settings I?m getting no sound from any of the speakers. I?ve followed all the available advice/instructions I can find on this website and manuals to no avail.
Set-up
Physical
(Digital DIN) Speakers/decoder amplifier (DTT3500) connected to the (digital out) soundcard (Audigy Platinum EX) using minijack to DIN cable. (As per instruction manual)
Software
Creative Audio Consul ? setting as per instructions, however have tried variations in vain. (Note: above tabs there is a select device box with SB Audigy [A0000] in it ? only option. Just wondering what [A0000] means?)
Your advice please. A simple step by step guide would be appreciated, many thanks in advance, Jon

Do you have the original installation disk?
If so, try installing THOSE drivers, ESPECIALLY if it worked before. Be sure to uninstall what is there now, first.

Help needed with header and upload onto business catalyst

Can someone help with a problem over a header please?
I have inserted a rectangle with a jpeg image in background, in the 'header' section, underneath the menu. It comes up fine on most pages when previsualised, going right to the side of the screen, but stops just before the edge on certain pages. I have double checked that I have placed it in the right place in relation to the guides on the page.
That's one problem.
The second problem is that I tried to upload onto business catalyst, which got to 60% and refused to go any further, saying it couldn't find the header picture, giving the title and then u4833-3.fr.png. The picture is in the right folder I have double checked. And it isn't a png. Does it have to be ?
And the third problem is that I got an email following my upload from business catalyst in Swedish. I am living in France.

How can I check the preview in other browsers before I publish a provisional site with BC?
The rectangle width issue happens on certain pages but not others. The Welecom page is fine when the menu is active, also the contact page, but others are slightly too narrow. Changing the menu spacing doesn’t help - I was already on uniform but tried changing to regular and back.
In design mode the rectangle is set to the edge of the browser, that’s 100%browser width right?
Re BC I have about 200 images on 24 different pages and it seems to be having difficulty uploading some of them. But it has managed a couple I named with spaces but not others I named with just one name.
Is there an issue on size of pictures ? If I need to replace is there a quick way to rename and relink or do I have to insert the photos all over again?
I’m a novice with Muse with an ambitious site !

Answering the questions :
- Have you checked the preview in Muse and also in other browsers ?
- Does the rectangle width issue happens when menu is active , or in any specific state , Try to change the menu with uniform spacing and then check.
- In design view the rectangle is set to 100% browser width ?
With publishing :
- Please try to rename the image file and then relink
- If it happens with other images as well , see if all the image names includes strange characters or spaces.
- Try again to publish
With e-mail from BC :
- Under preferences , please check the country selected.
- If you have previously created partner account in BC and selected country and language then it would follow that, please check that.

Pls help me with Mac and had a trial serial number problems

Hi,
I downloaded first the trial version of Photoshop, after 30 days finished but the icon still remained.
Now, when purchased a creative suite 4 Designe premium, installed, all programs are fine, just the photoshop not working, asking for serial number but when I type the right numbers, doesn`t accept.
What can I do? any idea?
to uninstall the photoshop and install again?
but if I have the other programs working and installed?

Is there any small program to check o/p voltage and waveform generation when i/p is thermocouple o/p

I have purchased pci 6024e DAQ and I want to check the card with using thermocouple and with the help of Visual Basic 6.

The best way to check to make sure your Data Acquisition (DAQ) board or card is working is to run Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX). From MAX, you can make sure that the card has computer resources assigned to it and also read any channel and display the voltage on the screen. You may also output a voltage (if your board has analog output capability) from MAX.
I would suggest running MAX, connecting up the thermocouple to the card, and reading the voltage reported by MAX to make sure the voltage reported is correct. To check the analog output, I would connect the analog output to an analog input channel and make sure whatever voltage is output is also read in correctly.
Once the board is working correctly in MAX, you can begin development with Visual Basic. You
can use the standard NI-DAQ function calls, or, for faster, easier development, consider using the ComponentWorks for VisualBasic software. See www.ni.com/products and look for Measurement Studio for more information about ComponentWorks.
You can find more about MAX at www.ni.com/support/daq. This page covers installation problems, but also shows how to test the functionality of the card with MAX.

Help dealing with Firewall, and URL Services

All,
We have recently installed the PDK URL Services for Portal to help
fulfill a requirement to enable Single Sign-On to access web sites
outside our client's network. We have hit a snag though, in that the
client has in place a firewall that challenges the browser at each
request to access an outside site. URL Services does not seem equipped
to handle these extra challenges in addition to the Single Sign-On
Username and Password requirements.
Has anyone dealt effectively with this problem? Is there an effective
remedy or technique using SSO /URL Services providers that will allow
this to take place? Can we more effectively use the built in proxy
services to help us with this?
We are currently using the latest URL Services download under Portal
3.0.9.8.2 on Solaris.

CAn anyone help me with MAIL and my earthlink account?

I've had DSL with Earthlink for several years now and never had connection problems. In the past two weeks, however, MAIL will sometimes fail to send email and sometimes fail to retrieve email from my Earthlink webmail account. The strangest thing is that this happens intermittently, even though no settings have been changed. Most of the time I can retrieve email, but other times I get the error message that "port 110 has timed out". Most of the time, I cannot send email, but other times the email shoots right through when I open mail.
I called Earthlink about this and we set up my MAIL program step by step according to Earthlink guidelines. Unfortunately, this did not help the matter.
My MAIL preference settings are as follows:
My incoming mail server is pop.mindspring.com on port 110.
My outgoing mail server is smtpauth.earthlink.net. The outgoing server port is 587. SSL is not checked. Authentication is by password.
All of these settings are correct according to the Earthlink tech.
If this matters, my G5 is connected wirelessly to an Airport Express base station.
Again, I'm puzzled that I've only just begun to have these issues and they seem to happen randomly.I also see that similar discussions have been had on this forum with Earthlink and MAIL, but I don't see any resolutions. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks.

I had problems with my Earthlink DSL quitting about a month ago. I went through some of the same Earthlink tech support troubleshooting hoops, hooking directly into my ethernet port not into the Airport etc. Eventually an Earthlink senior tech said my Netopia modem was defective. After some financial haggling they sent me a new Zycel modem, that didn't work either. Earthlink made an appointment and sent out an AT&T tech to the house. He hooked in and said it was a defective phone company circuit board. The AT&T tech called in for the phone company to change the circuit board now both the Netopia and Zycel modems work.
Note: while checking the line, the AT&T tech it my DSL line was sending one protocol it would work if my modem was set up to receive it. (protocol is my word I don't remember his exact word).
Another Note: Also when Earthlink wanted to replace my modem they wanted my to pay (the dollar amounts are approximate) $80 for an new modem, or get a free modem with an exorbitant $40 shipping fee and commit to an other year of service. I eventually bargained down to a free modem, free shipping and $20 off the monthly fee.

External Hard drive help: use with mac and pc? how to backup everything etc

Hello! I need some help regarding a new external hard drive I got from OWC. It is a 500 gb firewire 400 + usb 2.0 7200 rpm hard drive. I am running it from firewire. The software suggests the first thing you do is make a clone of your macbooks internal hard drive, that way if it fails later you can use the external to back everything up. If I do this ...
1. do I have to make the drive "Bootable" ? I have software called Data Backup 3 by Pro soft I think. It came with my external.
2. Can I still back up other stuff like my audio recordings and record onto that drive to a seperate folder?
3. If I make a bootable copy will it try and boot from the drive everytime I turn it on or something?
My other question is... how can I use this drive with a pc? I have a pc as well and I heard that the only way it will work is to format it in ms-dos mode (fat32?)
If I write it to fat32 will it slow down my drive or make it worse? I heard that you should format external drives specifically for mac if you have a mac; so it will only work with macs...
(sorry this is going on and on; it's like a chain reaction of questions)
so If its formatted to mac drive format then can I do this with my current situation:
1. I have wireless internet, the router is on a pc downstairs
2. Can I send files over a network somehow from the pc to my mac
3. then store it on my external?
If so can someone point me in that direction with a link?

1. No, you don't have to make a bootable clone.
2. If you use the drive for a bootable backup, then you cannot use the drive for other types of storage unless you partition the drive and make more than one volume.
3. No, it will not try to boot the computer. You must designate the startup volume using Startup Disk preferences.
If you wish to use the drive on both a Mac and a PC, then either you make two partitions - one for Mac and the other for the PC or you must format the entire drive using FAT32 so the drive can be used for read//write by both operating systems. If you do this then you cannot use the drive for a bootable backup nor can you use it with Time Machine.
FAT32 is slower for read/write on the Mac than using Mac formatting.
Optimally, I would suggest you partition the drive into two volumes. One volume formatted for the Mac and the other formatted FAT32.
You can send files from a PC to a Mac and vice-versa using File Sharing. Select Mac Help from the Finder's Help menu and search for "file sharing" or "sharing" to find help articles. Also see,

Help Required For DropDownByIndex and Table

Hi All,
   Could anybody help me to solve my problem?
   Actualy I am working with one DropDownByIndex and two
   Tables.Where within one viewset DropDown
   box and one Table(say Table1) are in one view and
   another one table(say Table2) is in other view.
   DropDown box is maped with one attribute suppose
   countryName and and Table1 is maped with collageName
   and locationName. So, when I will select the DropDown
   with one countryName then the table1 will show all the
   available collageName and locationName with multiple
   row.
   In other view I mean the Table2 is bind with
   availableCourse and courseDuration this two
   attributes. So whin I will click one row of Table1
   that means one collegeName is selected then the
   Table2 will show the availableCourse and
   courseDuration for that particular college. When I
   will select next row of Table1 then the value of
   Table2 will be different.
   Could anybody help me by sending the code and
   details?

One way is to get lead selected of drop down index , then get lead selected of table1 and pass it via a method to wdDoInit in the 3rd view so that you know what has been clicked in table1 and then accordingly get the data in table2.
Another way you can do this is to map the tables and drop down index to value nodes and create them in the component controller and then map these value nodes to the respective views. Now when your table2 view is triggered you get the lead selected in the value node of the table1 and accordingly generate the table2.

Immediate help required with this job scheduling scenario

I have a job that needs to run a procedure hourly but not between 6:00 AM to 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Can anyone help me with how to schedule this job.

If you use a window the job would only execute if the window opens. If for some reason the window did not open then the job would not execute.
Windows should be used to specify which resource plan should be active for the time interval.
In this case you are better off using FREQ=DAILY; BYHOUR=; and specify the hours.
