Help setting up Mail - to work with my MSN and Hotmail email accounts.

Can you walk me through the entry steps in setting up Mail to recognize my MSN and Hotmail email accounts. I don't know how to do this. Please keep it simple, what entries I need to make, screen by screen. I'm indebted to you.
Jim

Hi,
First of all you might want to double check the settings you are using for the POP3 account in Mail with Microsoft's instructions:

  • HT201320 Setting up mail only works the first time and then fails...

    Hello,
    I own a new iPad 4.
    Setting up my own mail accounts works great for the first time (I see new mails and I can sent mails), but the second time I open the Mail-App it complains about my mail settings.
    Mails are provided from my own domain. Using other mail clients I don't have issues.
    Setting is based on IMAP ssl/port 993 and ssl/578. iPad runs on IOS6.1.
    Do you have an idea why?

    Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
    Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

  • Help setting up Compiz Fusion standalone with gdm, inittab, and tint

    Hello!
    I'd like to set up my fresh Arch install with Compiz Fusion standalone, using twim, and gdm as the login manager. This all with the inittab method of booting with gdm. Openbox is nice, but I have a fast PC - while I like minimalism, effects are nice.
    I've looked at the wiki instructions, and a few forum threads, but haven't so far got it working.
    Could someone please explain the different config files I will be working with, and how they mesh together? As in, what process does the system follow through them? Does ~/.xinitrc factor in, or is it only called through startx? That sort of thing.
    And, does anyone know if Compiz Fusion will 'mesh' with tint, and provide the same mouse-over image previews of windows available in GNOME?
    Thanks

    If you'll be using gdm create a file called fusion.desktop ("fusion" can be anything you want to name your session and will appear in gdm session listing). Place this file in /etc/X11/sessions.
    Mine for reference:
    /etc/X11/sessions/fusion.desktop
    [Desktop Entry]
    Encoding=UTF-8
    Name=Fusion
    Comment=Compiz Fusion Standalone
    Exec=/usr/local/bin/start-fusion.sh
    TryExec=/usr/local/bin/start-fusion.sh
    Type=Application
    Then you need to create a script and place it in /usr/local/bin. As you can see from my fusion.desktop file I've named the script start-fusion.sh. Here's mine for reference:
    /usr/local/bin/start-fusion.sh
    #!/bin/sh
    # Avoid relying on autolaunch to improvise D-Bus sessions for each process
    if test -z "$DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS" ; then
    eval `dbus-launch --sh-syntax --exit-with-session`
    fi
    #compiz ccp &
    #emerald &
    sleep 6 && cairo-dock &
    sleep 12 && mplayer /usr/share/archlinux/arch-anim.mov &
    exec fusion-icon
    Make the script executable (do all above as root or use sudo) and you should be able to use gdm to login.
    Does ~/.xinitrc factor in, or is it only called through startx?
    Well, that would be the case if starting from runlevel 3. You would then want to add a line like this to it:
    exec start-fusion.sh
    btw: fusion-icon is used rather than the #'ed out method in start-fusion.sh as it provides a way to exit out of the session.
    You can also use compiz-deskmenu from aur to provide you with a menu in your fusion session.
    As far as tint is concerned, I haven't used it. I use cairo-dock which has a systray plugin. Advantage being I can use it as a widget and hide it away.

  • How to set multiple mail icons on the home screen for each email account?

    Hello Everybody,
    I have multiple e-mail addresses setup on my iPhone, but only one mail icon on the home screen. Is it possible to have multiple mail icons on the home screen that are tied to each individual email account?
    Any information is highly appreciated.

  • All mail in my inbox has disappeared and three email accounts not showing

    After logging on normally mail came up with some message about tracking junk mail and creating a file called 'Delivered' and whether I wanted to see new features in mail.
    I am pretty certain that I did not do anything unusual when logging in.
    What has happened?
    I now have a file called 'Delivered' as well as the normal 'Sent'.
    I now have no emails in 'In' and none in 'Sent', Trash' or the new file that was created automatically 'Delivered'. But I still have some but not all emails that should be there in a file to keep mail relating to a project.
    What is also strange is that previously I had three email accounts + an '.mac' but now when I look in mail preferences accounts only the '.mac' shows up. The three others have gone!
    Anyone with any ideas? Help!

    Thanks.
    I have now tried this. Emails imported into separate file that i had created to track one of my projects but still nothing in 'In'.
    Also checking 'Preferences' the three email accounts that I had are not shown.
    There are three email account files in /Users/MyuserName/Library/Mail.
    Any other ideas.
    Thanks for your help.

  • Need Help! Ospprearm.exe not working with Windows 8 and Micorsoft Office 2013

    I am running 64 bit win 8 and office 2013.  I searched in my whole PC and I found Ospprearm.exe in this location C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15
    That was the only place I found ospprearm.exe.  When I opened it I got this error
    There was an error when trying to rearm Office. You can try passing the SKU Id as a parameter. Passing the SKU ID is necessary if you are relying on activation to permit an additional rearm. Error: 0xc004f025
    On a computer running Microsoft non-core edition, run 'slui.exe 0x2a 0xc004f025' to display the error text
    I haven't rearmed Microsoft Office before with this technique before.
    I really Don't know what happend.

    Hello Ethan
    I am a bit worried since using Ospprearm.exe for office in my 64-bit version of Windows
    8 original version apparently changes my CMID will it affect my Windows Profile adversely as well or only office? I am told this rearms
    does "the following tasks:
    Resets the grace timer to 30 days.
    Freezes the grace timer until either an Office application is run, or the ospp.vbs script is run.
    Resets the client computer ID (CMID). This is important because the KMS host uses the CMID to determine the number of unique clients. To check the CMID, use the command ospp.vbs
    /dcmid. For more information about ospp.vbs, see The ospp.vbs script.
    Note: If you run this command on either Windows 8 or Windows Server 2012, it only returns to CMID for Windows,
    not Office. To see the CMID for Office 2013, look for event 12288 in the Application Event log..."
    Your clarification will be deeply appreciated thanks!!!

  • Apple Mail not working with IMAP account

    I have been using Entourage for my email with several IMAP email accounts. SOme of the accounts I was getting occasional errors so I thought I would try Apple Mail.
    I am able to successfully set up the accounts in Mail (i.e. it successfully logs into server) however it does not get any of the mail nor does it get any of the mail folders that are on the IMAP server (viewing email using Web Mail or even going back to Entourage shows the emails on the account). Are there any special (hidden) tricks that I need to do to get Mail to work with a standard IMAP mail server?

    I have a very similar problem. Apparently IMAP access is better than POP3. Well IMAP slows my Mac to a complete stop whereas POP3 is seamless. I deleted my POP3 mailboxes after successfully accessing my GMail accounts via IMAP, then it slowed down.
    I've deleted the IMAP accounts a few times, but each time a new account is created it forces me to accept IMAP with no option for POP3. The help file also contains no information on POP3.
    I get about 50 emails everyday and my usual point of email access has just become redundant, I must now rely on email via my browser and .
    I made this change because the iPhone does not sync downloaded emails with Apple Mail. In Mail on my Mac, the one GMail inbox I have setup says there are 11 unread which it eventually shows yet none appear unread. I'll have to rely on web-based email until this is resolved.
    Can anyone help with these IMAP access problems?

  • Microsoft Mail not working with Windows 7 & MS-Office 2010

    Dear All
    I have a client who is using Microsoft Mail for their internal mailing. They have been using MSoffice ( Outlook) for this purpose for last so many years.
    We have found that Microsoft Mail does not work with Windows 7 and MS Office 2010 combination.
    When you try to configure it given error 0x8004110.
    When we tried with different versions, we found that if you install Office 2007 it works. If you try Office 2007 and then Office 2010 and remove Office 2007, it still work. But Then it is treated as 2 installations of Msoffice on the same computer.
    I need to know whether this is right from Licensing perspective.  We 'll be using single copy of office but it may seems as we have installed Office 2007 & office 2010 on same computer.

    Windows 7 is a supported operation system for Office 2010. At what exactly point will you get the specific error?
    Is that a Click-To-Run version of Office 2010? By default, for MSI-based version of Office, when you upgrade existing Office 2007 to Office 2010, the earlier version of Office will be removed:

    For licensing advice, as <Don> suggested above, you should contact your local Microsoft customer support or reseller.

    It's recommended to download and install
    Configuration Analyzer Tool (OffCAT), which is developed by Microsoft Support teams. Once the tool is installed, you can run it at any time to scan for hundreds of known issues in Office

  • How E-mail functionality works with Interaction Center Webclient

    Dear all,
    How the E-mail functionality works with IC Webclient, How can we can send and receive E-mails to customers and internal employees through Interaction Center.
    Does SMTP server required to be involved for this functionality or External Telephony system Vendor iprovides this function.
    What is ERMS? and why we use this in IC Webclient.
    Please educate me to understand the concept of E-mail functionality in IC Webclient.
    Your help will be highly appreciated.
    Best wishes,
    Raghu ram.

    Hello Raghu ram,
    The SAP CRM Interaction Center uses a concept of a shared email inbox for agent teams. This allows customers to communicate with your Interaction Center by sending emails to a corporate email address like service@yourcompany. You typically group your agents together into queues based on a particular product or skillset. Using this concept, customer's don't send emails directly to a specifc agent's email address, and agent's don't send emails directly to each other. That would rather still be done with groupware products like Microsoft Outlook.
    You have three options for routing emails into the CRM Interaction Center. You can push emails real-time to agents via a screen pop using third-party contact-center software like SAP BCM, Genesys, Avaya, and so on. Or there are two options for sending emails into the agent inbox, where the emails are processed in offline mode by agents, technicians, and engineers. You can route emails directly to a specific inbox group/queue by using different emails addreses. Or, you can leverage ERMS to decide where which agents to route the email to based on business rules.
    Please see the various notes mentioned above that appear in the sticky note on top of this forum. For example, there is a nice 85 page FAQ document on the Agent Inbox in note 882653. And ERMS note 940882 is also very useful.
    Regards,
    John

  • 10.8.1 upgrade - Mail not working with Google

    Mail worked fine with my personal and business Google accounts on 10.8. Just upgraded to 10.8.1 and Mail won't accept my password. My iCloud account seems to work fine. Anyone having the same problem?

    Hi,
    Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
    From description provided it seems that issue occurs when trying to connect domain systems. Have you find any related useful for this issue?
    Please try to reinstall the app and also to enable the option “Allow connection running from any version of remote desktop” on windows 7 and verify the result.
    Hope it helps!

    You can create an alias @icloud.com email address within your current account that will receive email in your current iCloud inbox (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mm6b1a490a).  (@me.com addresses are no longer available as new addresses.)  Just be aware that you cannot use an alias address later to create a new iCloud account or move it to a different account.
    Also, even if you created a new iCloud account with a new ID, your existing purchases would not be lost.  They are permanently tied to the original ID you used to purchase them.  You can also continue to use the existing ID for the iTunes store; it does not need to be the same as the ID you use for iCloud.
