Help to aggregate 3 tables into 1

Hello every one,
I have one master table with 2 details and like to aggregate them with a view using SUM.
Master table = purchase : purchase_id, customer_id, purchase_date, store_id, ...
First detail = purchased_products: product_id, purchase_id, qauntity, price, ...
Second detail = paid_taxes: tax_id, purchase_id, amount, ...
Now I want to have a view that aggregates the products and taxes for all the customers. The following view would show wrong sums because of the join:
CREATE OR REPLACE FORCE VIEW GGREGATED_PURCHASES_VIEW (customer_id, product_id, quantity, price, tax_id, amount) AS
SELECT pu.customer_id,
pr.product_id,
SUM(pr.quantity) as quantity,
SUM(pr.price) as price,
tx.tax_id,
SUM(tx.amount) as amount
FROM purchase pu
JOIN purchased_products pr ON pu.purchase_id=pr.purchase_id
LEFT OUTER JOIN paid_taxes tx ON pu.purchase_id=tx.purchase_id
GROUP BY pu.customer_id, pr.product_id, tx.tax_id
How can I do it correctly?

Hi,
Welcome to the forum!
You probably want to do one (possibly both) of the one-to-many joins in a separate query, and then join the aggregated results.
Sorry, I don't understand exactly what you want.
Do you want one row of output for every customer_id? This would make sense, and it would be easiest.
Do you want one row of output for every combination of customer_id and purchase_id? If so, what does the tax amount column represent?
Do you want one row of output for every combination of customer_id and tax_id? If so, what do the quantity and price columns represent?
Do you want one row of output for every combination of customer_id, purchase_id and tax_id? If so, what do any of the SUMs represent?
Whenever you have a question, it helps to post:
(1) The version of Oracle (and any other relevant software) you're using
(2) A little sample data (just enough to show what the problem is) from all the relevant tables
(3) The results you want from that data
(4) Your best attempt so far (formatted) (You posted the code, but its unformatted and hard to read.)
Executable SQL statements (like "CREATE TABLE AS ..." or "INSERT ..." statements) are best for (2).
Formatted tabular output is okay for (3). Type these 6 characters:
(small letters only, inside curly brackets) before and after sections of formatted text, to preserve spacing.

  • Importing 30 tables into one SQL Table (Help Required)

    Dear Experts,
    I am new in SQL server, actually i need to gather 30 different excel file in one sql server table and i have imported all excel file in different databases, all tables have 186 different columns and datatypes. I couldnt change data type while conversion.
    Now all columns have different data type which are occupying extra space in my database.
    Now the problem is that i need to convert all databases into one database or table. Although i have created a table but i dont have idea how to import all table into one table  and defining datatype in new table while importing the old tables.
    Please help me in this matter or if any body has skype or any other chatting id please do let me know so that i may explain it better.
    Thanking you in advance.
    Best Regards,
    SQL_beginner

    There are several things you can try.  If you have SSIS, take a look at this.
    http://www.singhvikash.in/2013/06/ssis-how-to-load-multiple-excel-files.html
    https://www.simple-talk.com/sql/ssis/importing-excel-data-into-sql-server-via-ssis-questions-you-were-too-shy-to-ask/
    Also, if your files have virtually the same name, like files with dates in the name, you can loop through files in your folder, and increment the loop with each run through.
    DECLARE @intFlag
    INT
    SET @intFlag
    = 1
    WHILE (@intFlag
    <=30)
    BEGIN
    PRINT @intFlag
    declare @fullpath1
    varchar(1000)
    select @fullpath1
    = '''\\path to your files\'
    + convert(varchar,
    getdate()- @intFlag
    , 112)
    + '_your-text-file-name.txt'''
    declare @cmd1
    nvarchar(1000)
    select @cmd1
    = 'bulk insert [dbo].[your-table-name] from '
    + @fullpath1 +
    ' with (FIELDTERMINATOR = ''\t'', FIRSTROW = 2, ROWTERMINATOR=''0x0a'')'
    exec (@cmd1)
    SET @intFlag
    = @intFlag + 1
    END
    GO
    Knowledge is the only thing that I can give you, and still retain, and we are both better off for it.

  • How to load Data of 2 tables into 1 dimension? Snowflake?

    I want to load data of scott.dept & scott.emp into one dimension using AWM.
    Don't want to join the 2 tables into 1, don't want to create a view either.
    Is there a way?
    I tried to select 'snowflake' as the dimension table type in the mapping editor.
    but the data was not loaded properly.
    only the dept data got loaded.
    Any idea?

    I created a new dimension called DEPT and added two levels : DEPT and EMP.
    In the mapping I used the setting 'Other' rather than 'snowflake'. It requires a bit more mapping as you have to set the mapping details for each attribute and the member/parent details. This worked and loaded the data correctly. The mapping looks a bit strange as their are lines everywhere. But it works.
    However, I then started playing with this to try and expand it a little further and things started to get very difficult
    1) Manager- I tried to add an additional level to map the manager but this would not work because you cannot find the department for the manager from the existing table. If you try and use the Dept column what will be allocated is the department for the last employee in that table with the selected manager.
    2) All - there is no way to add an 'All' level. Most OLAP dimensions require an 'All' or top level node to allow the data to be aggregate to a useful total. May be this should be an automatic feature of AWM - A possible enhancement request? Who knows it might be in the next release of AWM which is due shortly.
    3) It is not possible to save the mapping - once you have created the mapping if you click on any other node in the AWM tree and then click on mapping again the type of dimension table reverts to 'Star Schema'. If you change the type to 'Other' some of the mappings get lost. This looks like a bug.
    4) If you want to make this a value based dimension then you have to use the natural keys in the data. If you use surrogate keys then you can only create a level based dimension.
    Hope this helps

  • Numbers: Copy/Paste from multiple tables into 1 single Table?

    I would appreciate some guidance in creating a copy/paste script from multiple numbers tables into a different single table within the same numbers document.
    The columns in the source table are in different positions to the destination table.
    So for example, i would want to copy…
    Sheet 1, Table 1 Cell A3  copy to Sheet 2 Table Z Cell B2
    Sheet 1, Table 1 Cell B3  copy to Sheet 2 Table Z Cell C2
    Sheet 1, Table 1 Cell C3  copy to Sheet 2 Table Z Cell E2
    Sheet 1, Table 1 Cell D3  copy to Sheet 2 Table Z Cell F2
    Sheet 1, Table 1 Cell E3  copy to Sheet 2 Table Z Cell G2
    Sheet 1, Table 1 Cell G3  copy to Sheet 2 Table Z Cell I2
    Sheet 1, Table 1 Cell J3  copy to Sheet 2 Table Z Cell H2
    and repeat the copy/paste on subsequent rows of each table until there is an empty row in Sheet 1 Table 1 (or if this is difficult, say set the repeat to a max of 30 rows).
    The script would then need to move on to Sheet 1 Table 2, and do the same copying to Sheet 2 Table Z (from where the previous copy/paste finished in Table Z).
    Repeat process would finalise with Sheet 1 Table 6.
    The Paste part would need to be pasting values, as the cells in the source tables do contain some formulas.
    At the moment this is all done manually and does take some to to undertake.
    If anyone can help, i would be very grateful.
    Thanks,
    Colin

    Interceptor,
    are you trying to aggregate data from severl tables into a single table?  If so you whould be able to do this without a script.  The function indirect() will allow you to construct the proper formula, which you may fill over (in the same row) to the appropriate cells, then fill down.
    Here is a small example:
    There are three data tables ("Table 1", "Table 2", and "Table 3").  And a summary "Table Z"
    In table Z make the first row a header (as shown):
    Use column A to enter the Sheet name and colomn B to enter the table name.
    In row 1 (the header), enter the cells you want to get
    in cell C2 type (or copy and paste from here) the formula:
    =INDIRECT($A2&"::"&$B2&"::"&C$1)
    now select cell C2, copy now select cell C2 thru H2, paste
    now select the cells C2 thu H2, hover the corsor over the bottom edge of the selection, and drag the yellow cirlc down as needed to fill the formula down.
    Update the sheet and table names as needed for each row

  • Error while importing a DW table into DAC

    Hi,
    We are on OBIEE 7.9.6 and we have a requirement of adding new DW table. I created a new table in DW and getting error "Could connect to data source process. Process failed during creation of connection pool", while trying to import this new table into DAC. I would like to know why I am getting this error.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Thank you for your response.
    I added this table in DW database and have imported into informatica. When I look at the traffic light it is red. Looks like thats the problem.
    Thanks again.

  • Store data from a table into excel sheet and email

    Hi all,
    I am just wondering, i m not sure where to start. I want to insert data from a table into an excel spread sheet.
    I'm working on a stored procedure with 3 input parameters:
    1. the actual query
    2. userid
    3. the column headers (comma separated) - these will be in the same order as the outer select statement in the query itself. I will use the column headers for the respective columns in Excel worksheet.
    When the proc is executed, the excel is populated. If the record count is > 65536, then I need to create multiple worksheets in the same excel file.
    How can i do that? Can any body please help with this..?

    We are doing like this ( Not sure whether it is the best method available)
    --Get the output of the query (Since the number of columns is not fixed you would have to use dbms_sql package)
    --loop through the output and write into a file, for example test.csv, using UTL_FILE package
    --load the file into a blob variable(we are doing it by loading it into a table)
    --For mailing You can use the below package
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/tech/pl_sql/htdocs/Utl_Smtp_Sample.html
    Mailing code we are using is given below:

    This looks like bug to me, Any suggestion?

    Hi Mohideen,
    Based on my research, the issue might be related to one of the following factors:
    Memory pressure. Check there is a memory challenge when the issue occurs. In addition, if the package runs in 32-bit runtime on the specific server, use the 64-bit runtime instead.
    A known issue with SQL Native Client. As a workaround, use .NET data provider instead of SNAC.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi,
    Here is a small sample program to convert data in an internal table into XML format and display it.
    DATA: itab  TYPE TABLE OF spfli,
          l_xml TYPE REF TO cl_xml_document.
    * Read data into a ITAB
    SELECT * FROM spfli INTO TABLE itab.
    * Create the XML Object
    CREATE OBJECT l_xml.
    * Convert data in ITAB to XML
    CALL METHOD l_xml->create_with_data( name = 'Test1'
                                         dataobject = t_goal[] ).
    * Display XML Document
    CALL METHOD l_xml->display.
    Here are some other sample SAP programs to handle XML in ABAP:
    BCCIIXMLT1, BCCIIXMLT2, and BCCIIXMLT3.
    Hope this helps,
    Sumant.

  • How to read data from an internal table into a real table?

    Hello experts,
    I'm relatively new to ABAP and I'm trying to figure out how to read data from an internal table into a table that I created.  I'm trying to use the RRW3_GET_QUERY_VIEW_DATA function module to read data from a multiprovider.  I'm trying to read data from the e_cell_data and e_axis_data tables into a table that I've already created.  Please see code below.
    TABLES MULTITAB.
    DATA:
      query_name TYPE RSZCOMPID,
      s_cubename TYPE RSINFOPROV,
      t_cell_data TYPE RRWS_T_CELL,
      t_axis_data TYPE RRWS_THX_AXIS_DATA,
      t_axis_info TYPE RRWS_THX_AXIS_INFO,
      wa_t_cell_data like line of t_cell_data,
      wa_t_axis_data like line of t_axis_data,
      w_corp_tab like line of t_cell_data.
    s_cubename = 'CORP_MPO1'.
    query_name = 'Z_corp_test'.
        CALL FUNCTION 'RRW3_GET_QUERY_VIEW_DATA'
           EXPORTING
             i_infoprovider           = s_cubename
             i_query                  = query_name
            i_t_parameter            = query_string_tab
           IMPORTING
             e_cell_data              = t_cell_data
             e_axis_data              = t_axis_data
             e_axis_info              = t_axis_info.
    If anyone has any information to help me, I would greatly appreciate it.  Thanks.

    Hi,
    <li>Once you call the function module RRW3_GET_QUERY_VIEW_DATA, lets say data is available in the corresponding tables e_cell_data e_axis_data which you have mentioned.
    <li>Modify your internal table defined for other purpose, with data from e_cell_data e_axis_data like below.
    LOOP AT t_cell_data INTO wa_t_cell_data.
      "Get the required data from t_cell_data.
      MOVE-CORRESPONDING wa_t_cell_data TO it_ur_tab.
      "Modify your internal table wih data
      MODIFY it_ur_tab TRANSPORTING <field1> <field2> <field3>.
    ENDLOOP.
    LOOP AT t_axis_data INTO wa_t_axis_data.
      "Get the required data from t_cell_data.
      MOVE-CORRESPONDING wa_t_axis_data TO it_ur_tab.
      "Modify your internal table wih data
      MODIFY it_ur_tab TRANSPORTING <field1> <field2> <field3>.
    ENDLOOP.
    Thanks

  • Want to combine  the data different coloumn of table into single coloumn.

    HI All ,
    Requirement : I want to create an application which will display  diffrent coloumn(data) of a table into single coloumn  in web-dynpro abap .
    For ex:
    Table : employee
    coloumn : PERSON , PAYMENT , STATUS ,  SUBMISSION .
    RETURN  = PAYMENT + STATUS + SUBMISSION
    (return coloumn will contain the data of other coloumn )
    Thanks in advance .
    Rahul

    In your context, create a node 'Employee'. It should have the attributes person, payment, status, submission, return. Let return be of type string. I assume you have a ztable or some ddic structure employee, which does not have the return field.
    You code will be on these lines - change it to your requirements anyway. Place the code in a method depending on your requirement of when the data should be displayed.
    data: node_emp type ref to if_wd_context_node,
            itab_emp type table of employee,
            wa_emp  type employee,
            itab_node_emp type if_main=>elements_employee,
            wa_node_emp type if_main=>element_employee.
    node_emp = wd_context->get_child_node( name = 'EMPLOYEE' ).
    <i>* Get data from your API here into itab_emp *</i>
    loop at itab_emp into wa_emp.
      move-corresponding wa_emp to wa_node_emp.
      concatenate wa_emp-payment wa_emp-status wa_emp-submission separated by space into wa_node_emp-return.
      append wa_node_emp to itab_node_emp.
    endloop.
    node_emp->bind_elements( itab_node_emp ).
    Here, before the loop, you need to fetch the data into itab_emp using your APIs. Since you have said you want to display the data of multiple columns as is, I have just concatenated them.
    In your view layout, have a table and bind the data source to be the context node Employee.
    <b>The data types of itab_node_emp, wa_node_emp will differ based on your view name and node name. Use the code wizard to generate your code according to your design time.</b>
    Hope this helps.

    Nithya

  • Creating or importing a table into Mail

    I have searched and found a few threads with this same question. The problem is, there is no answer in any of the threads!
    Can someone help me figure out how to either create or import a table into a Mail message?
    Thanks for any advice provided.

    I don't think you can create a table directly in Mail. Mail html capabilities are fairly pathetic. The only way I know how to do it is to create an html file using some html editor, put your table there. then open that file in Safari copy the table there and paste it into a message composition window.
