i run OSX On MBP
I want to know how to keep system auto updated by apple to face java problems
on termnal

also i found that i have JavaAppletPlugin.plugin on /Library/Internet Plug-Ins and read that its for java7 , do i need to delete it ? and keep only system one ?

Messaging Express is a webmail client that works with (and comes as part of) the JES Messaging Server. If you need a mail server and want to use the JES stack, you probably want to be looking at the JES Communications Suite (see http://www.sun.com/software/javaenterprisesystem/communications_suite/index.xml) which includes the messaging, calendar, and instant messaging servers as well as the directory server.
If you already have a mail server that you are happy with and are only looking for a robust LDAP server to store user attributes then the JES Directory Server is probably what you would want to look at.

Can't access safe mode to delete System Security fake anti virus virus. HELP.

Hi, our SL500 has become infected with "System Security" fake anti virus software. We have tracked down how to remove it.

However when we get to the "reboot your computer in safe mode" (see instructions below) we can't as this is not possible.
We have tried F8...........Repeatedly . And also Run->msconfig->BOOT.INI->/SAFEBOOT . But to no avail . Actually we get a pop up stating that Windows can not find said command and have we typed it in correctly . Please could some one help us as this is driving us insane . One last thing . A computer WITHOUT a "safe mode " option, isn't that kinda of unsafe and a tad.....

Instructions for malware removal.
You will need to print out a copy of these instructions, or save them to NotePad and put a shortcut to the file on the desktop so that you can refer to while you complete this procedure as you will be required to boot into Safe Mode where you wont have internet access.
Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
Caution: This program is for Windows 2000, XP and Vista only
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
If you use Firefox browser
Click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
If you use Opera browser
Click Opera at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.
Run MBAM again, only this time perform a full scan and post the log.

Save it to your desktop.
Reboot your computer into SafeMode.
You can do this by restarting your computer and continually tapping the F8 key until a menu appears.
Use your up arrow key to highlight SafeMode then hit enter.

Hit ok at the prompt for scanning in Safe Mode.

After that click on Security level then choose Customize then click on the tab that says Heuristic Analyzer then choose Enable Deep rootkit search then choose ok.
Then choose OK again then you are back to the main screen.
Then click on Scan at the to right hand Corner.
It will automatically Neutralize any objects found.
If some objects are left un-neutralized then click the button that says Neutralize all
If it says it cannot be Neutralized then chooose The delete option when prompted.
After that is done click on the reports button at the bottom and save it to file name it Kas.
Save it somewhere convenient like your desktop and just post only the detected Virus\malware in the report it will be at the very top under Detected post those results in your next reply.
Note: This tool will self uninstall when you close it so please save the log before closing it.

Also let me know how the computer is behaving.

Thanks for trying to help. Sadly, I followed the instructions and it rebooted to the blue screen again.
It's going to have to go to Apple for repairs now. I'm out of options.
I am wondering how much easier it would have been if I'd created a time machine restore point. I got what I deserved for failing to do that, but I'm doubtful even that would have worked in this case. It does seem to be because of that piece of widely reported malware that didn't want to leave without causing damage.
The most frustrating aspect is the safe boot. I get to the desktop but without any menu, finder or dock. It seems to be similar to the problem below...

'System Security' Malware help, please! Installed Verizon security suite, now it's back again.

We received the System Security malware on our computer. We thought we removed it completely because initially the malware prevented the Verizon security suite from running.
After we deleted the virus and the program attached, we were able to install the Verizon Internet Security suite. Lo and behold, two hours later (after a successful complete scan) the malware was back with NO warning from Verizon Security Suite.
Can someone please tell me how to remove this malicious program and also why the security suite gave no warning before it re-attached itself to our computer?
Any help is greatly appreciated, as our laptop is heavily used and we do not have the money or the time to have it completely wiped clean.

its really dependant on what type of malware is installed.
if u can get the exact name of it ... it should be something like name.malware .. something like that
do a google for "remove name.malware " or whatever the name of it is, and chances are the first 3 responses will be how to remove it

Help need on System setup for java programming

HELP BADLY NEEDED!
I recently installed java (jdk version8 152mb) on my HP630 win7 because i want to learn java. But when practising, after using notepad to code samples like "Hello Word" and saving it with .java format, it still cannot run on my pc.
Pls i think i need a complete and comprehensible guide on how to install and prepare my win7 laptop for java programming.

one suggestion is to ensure your system's environment PATH has the Java installation path included, so that it knows where to look to run Java.
(See attached pix).
1st) Find out where Java was installed to on your system: For example, on my Win7 PC, Java was installed to 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Java' directory.
However, my path to the actual binaries is 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin'; this is the value I added to my system PATH.
2nd) Check what your System's PATH has: You can do this by looking at the Environment Variables under System Properties:
1) Search for Control Panel, then go to System & Security, then to System, then to 'Advanced System settings'.
2) Click on 'Environment Variables...'
3) Under the 'System variables' pane, use the scroll bar to find 'Path', and click on 'Edit...'.
4) Here is where you add your Java path (as noted above): Note that I appended my java path to the existing Path text, taking care to separate the previous path with a semi-colon (';').
For example, this was my existing 'Path': "C:\Program Files\CollabNet\"...and now it looks like this 'C:\Program Files\CollabNet\;C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin'.
5) Click OK, OK, OK out of all those dialogs.
Now..restart your JVM or attempt to run your Java program!.

Winhelp Help system and Java

Hello,
Of the several products we develop, one, a Java program, uses the Java Help help system (logically). The others use a standard Winhelp help system (developed in Robohelp). Our current workflow for developing a help system for the Java program is to batch convert the Winhelp RTF files into HTML files. The problem is, most of our Winhelp formatting is either dropped or incorrectly represented in the Java help file. Also, I prefer the look and feel of a Winhelp system over Java.
Is it possible for a Java program to be modified so that it supports a Winhelp help system and not a Java Help system? If so, how is this done, and where can one find information on the process?
If not, what options do we have to "pretty up" the Java output from the conversion?

I am trying to revert my Java to 1.6 from 1.7. The System Preferences Java icon is disabled. But when I enter java -version in terminal it shows 1.6.0_65. Please help me in giving explicit commands to get back my Java 1.6

I earlier had a java 1.7 installed in my system. I wanted to revert the version back to 1.6. I downloaded the file JavaForOSX2014-001.dmg and installed it in my hard disk. I am not sure where it has installed it but it has successfully done it. When I open up the terminal and enter java -version it shows 1.6.0_65 version as the java version.
But in the System Preferences, Java is disabled and does not show the java as being installed. Please guide me in getting my java 1.6 back.

The preferences pain shows this message when I click on the Java icon -- “Java can’t be opened because it isn’t available".

Bloomberg video no longer plays since last system or Java update - I do not recall which.

Do you use Glimmerblocker, or any other advert/content/security blocking/filtering software ?
Yes, I use Sophos. But, recall that with another browser (Chrome), video plays fine. So the issue is not with Sophos per se.
Safari-Preferences-Extensions is set to OFF ?
I just turned Safari-Preferences-Extensions to OFF. Video will sill not play.

I did this, but, I an unable to delete all the Site Data; I get an error box: "Flash Player was unable to delete all local storage. The files may be locked by another program. Close all browsers or restart your computer, and try again."
I get this error even with all the browsers are closed.
I think this points to our bug: Only in my Mac OS user profile and only in Safari there seems to be some Flash Player file which is either 'open' or 'locked' to deleting.
Where could that pesky file be????

When i try to open some applications (sensor for example), phone (nokia 6233) gives me this error:

I installed a 3rd party app from brothersoft on my 6133. The instructions say:
Sound Recorder can record Sound until the free memory in the memory card is finished. The recorded music will be saved as .amr file on the memory card.
Permissions that the user should provide to run the application:
The permission to access the audio recorder hardware of the phone for recording.
The permission to access the file system for storing the recorded data.
The permission to access the file system for playing the recorded music.
The recoded music will be saved as .amr file in the card memory.
I'm getting the security error referenced in the thread title. How do I go about setting permissions for accessing the recorder hardware and the file system? The only option I see under "Options" for the application is "Application Access", but that function is greyed out.

i wrote a program which scans the system for java.exe 's and then it captures them in a linked list and then i
iterate through it for "\\Java\\jdk1.5.0_08\\bin\\java.exe and my aim is to return true in case the linked list contains the string "\\Java\\jdk1.5.0_08\\bin\\java.exe" and stop scanning the system.
If the linked list does not contain "Java\\jdk1.5.0_08\\bin\\java.exe" it should return false.
But my problem is the program is continuing to scan the system even if the linked list has "\\Java\\jdk1.5.0_08\\bin\\java.exe"
Any sort of help is appreciated.

I know there are loads of posts with same issue and most of them were related to proxy and connectivity .
This was case for me as well (few months back). Now the same error is back. But I've confirmed that FW ports and proxy are fine this time around.

I've checked proxy server connectivity. I'm able browse following site from WSUS server

I did telnet proxy server on the particular port (8080) and that is also fine.
I've doubt on certificates, any idea which are the certificates which we need to look? And if certificate is expired then (my guess) we won't be able open the above mentioned windows update catalog site?

I've already tested CONTENT DOWNLOAD and it's working fine. WSUS Sync was also working fine for years with proxy server configured on port (8080) and WSUS server on port 80.
My Guess (this is my best guess ;)) is this something to do with Firewall or Proxy side configuration rather than WSUS. However, I'm not finding a way to prove this to proxy/firewall team. From their perspective all the required port communication open and
proxy server is also reachable. More over we're able to access internet (Microsoft Update Catalog site) over same port (8080).
Any other hints where I can prove them it's a sure shot problem from their side.

I can run my code using jdeveloper 10g using a default file and everything works fine but when I run my code in the production environment I get the error listed above.
