Help understanding Flash.

I am NEW to Flash and need advice on where to go for an
understanding about Flash.
I have had FL3 Pro since CS3 came out and I need an outlet
for a beginner. I have read for two months and am no closer to
understanding what the hell is going on than when I first bought
the Suite.
Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, DreamWeaver are kittens
compared to the help menu for Flash.
I can't even find the defination for 'tween'. Searched, I
thought, everywhere in the Help menu and on the Adobe web site but
all that gives me is more information about Shape tweens or
tweening, not what tween is. Even 'whatis.com' does not have a
defination of what tween is.
This is just the beginning. I can't find anwsers to my most
basic questions anywhere so my question is "Where does one go for
explanations and definations when everything that is written is for
someone that knows Flash and what they are doing?"

i'm new to flash (one week now) also - am using flash 8 on
osx - (i had the same issue with 'tween') - in help under "getting
started with flash" are two tutorials - both were very helpful -
there's also a tutorials section in the help with heaps of tut's -
it could be helpful to do a few beginner tut's first and then buy a
book so you'll be able to better judge the content of the book
speaking of 'tween' - they use the term "application" (or
just app) to mean the flash "thing" you create for your webpage -
i'm used to "application" meaning an entire *application* - like
quicken is an application, or excel - (took me some mental
"re-programming" to switch that definition)
re languages - flash has it "actionscript" language for
adding logic to your apps - this is used for interaction - eg user
click button and so you scroll to a new picture - the tut "building
your first flash application" does this
as you build up things you may also find the need for:
- javascript - so flash can send/receive data to/from the web
page itself - this language only runs in the browser
- php - for server to send/receive data from browser - this
runs only on the web server
eg - i'm going to display a pic and allow the user to crop it
- i'll use flash to do the cropping - javascript to receive
cropping data like dimensions/etc - and php to store that data in
my database (mysql) - sounds pretty complicated but i've built up
slowly for two weeks and i'm confident about it now (although
haven't actually *done* it yet... :-)
if you do get to php/mysql - i highly recommend the book
"build your own database driven website using php & mysql" by
kevin yank - *very* well written - at the novice level

Depends on how you want to use it. Flash storage on the newer macbook and macbook air are built in. A macbook air is the most light weight and a very good machine. It will do all you want it to do unless you are running some very intensive programs. If you go to the apple store on line you can compare the different macbook pro" and macbook Air's.

For example, I am looking at the Gen 6 Airport extreme. For intended performance do I need broadband? if so what are the specs, or will basic internet service suffice? Do I need the internet provider's modem or does the Airport extreme replace that? And then I think, if I am doing this, I should also look at Apple TV....What do I need and Why? Then I look at the New Desk top coming out in the fall, and I think well, if I wait and get this, what does this component do for the system, and what becomes redundant? What does this awesome desktop do for my ability to sit and use a new macbook air when I travel or sit on the couch in my PJs?
If there was a place that plainly stated "if you buy the new dektop you can configure a system including only these components and achieve <this result> and by adding <additional components> you will achieve this result.
I have been to the genius store a few times, but I come out of there more confused unless I have SPECIFIC questions or already know what to buy.
A "System Configuration App" would be a really great sales tool--Just saying.

I have no idea what "fully optimized" means.
No Apple device will let you watch broadcast TV. The Apple TV is a good option for watching streaming TV from iTunes, NetFlix and Hulu. If you want to watch from other sources, you may need to look at other devices.
Any Mac computer or iPad will allow you to surf the web.
What business software?
Time Capsule is a good option for back ups.
Update what across all devices?
For accessing documents from all devices, a service like Dropbox is your best bet.
I have no idea what "step as far away from an internet provider as possible" means. If you want Internet access, you need an Internet provider.
Lighting fast speed for what? Processor? The specs are listed for all devices in the Online Store. Internet? We're back to the service provider.
Technology changes. The only way to keep pace with it beyond a couple of years is to buy new stuff.
The bottom line is you need to look at the specs for devices availble and at your budget and decide what best meets your needs. If you are unable to do that on your own, there are lot of technology consultants out there who will, for a fee, look at your exact situation, make recommendations and even handle the purchase and set up. Perhaps that would be the best route for you.

Need help for flash builder

i need help for flash builder 4 and papervison 3d. I need to create a slider with it ranges of value from 10 to 50 to adjust the camera values for the camera.fov and also need to create it for the yaw of the object from 0 to 360. I try to look for any slider event and classes in this program but cant find any, btw, i need to use the AS only project file.

Turn the click handler into a full on separate function. Then store all the views in an array and use Math.rand() to randomly choose one.

Import finished with few errors...Help understanding it!

Hello people,
I just run for the second time a full import, and it said it finished correctly.
The first time I run it, there was a message which said that the import had finished with 2249 errors (I checked my log and not all of them were errors but messages). I checked each single message and only had to solve a couple of things.
I first created a user in response to an ora-29393: user string does not exist or is not logged on.
The second thing I did was to run the utlrp.sql file in response to an ORA-39082. I did this according to this blog.
I know oracle is taking precedence each time I run an import. I don’t know if what I have done is okay or perhaps not all data was imported after all. This is the thread which I posted initially when errors came out.
Any reply is a supply.

Help understand how this works

Hows everyone doing, i need some help understand this. This is my first time using Lulu. From the reviews i'v read about it they tell me this is the #1 place to come to to get my books printed. Here the question, i have all 3 of my books ready to be uploaded do i just sent that in, then they send me the prints ? or so they self them for me. Sorry if this seems like a dumb question, but its my first time using this particular site.

Here's a quick overview:
You start the new book wizard. Click "Create," pick a book type and size (hardcover, paperback, etc.; 6x9, 8.5 x 11, etc.), and click "Make this book."
Hint: If you want the widest distribution for your book, pick a size / type that has a green checkmark next to it.
The wizard will guide you to name your book, apply an ISBN (or get a free one), upload your contents, and upload your cover or design a cover. It will guide you to set pricing and distribution, and many other options.
When you've done all that, your book will be available to order. You will see two prices: the one you pay, and the one other people pay. The one you pay is the printing cost per book. It may be anywhere from $2.50 to $20.00 or more, depending on options you pick -- probably coser to the low end.
On that first page, where it says "Create," there is a calculator that will figure roughly what your book will cost (printing costs), so you can plan your options around that calculator.
So you order as many books as you want, pick shipping, pay with a credit card, and in a few days, the books are on your doorstep.

Help in flash (MX 2004) - how to zoom in 'camera'

I've noticed in some flash movies that the animator has
actually "zoomed in" on the symbols instead of just making the
symbols bigger. I wanted to know if anyone knows how to do this.
I am not an expert animator, so would appreciate any help if
possible.

just after the opening text were stationary - they simply
moved the camera alongside them - when
viewing the film the shaps (in our own minds) appear to move.

Need help Installing Flash player 10.3 for firefox. It stops at 50%

So I have Windows Vista Basic Home, I tried updating my Flash version in firefox because it was out of date, but everytime it start downloading it , then I get the a message that says "Error " Appliation in use." I uninstalled it and followed all the suggestions on the websites nothing is working. I even uninstall google chrome thinking it was the problem but I'm still having that problem so I really don't know what to do because now the only place Flash player is installed seems to be Google chrome that I had to redoawload, but everywhere else tells me that I need to install it.

Help understanding ABAP Proxies

I need help installing flash on windows 8

Chris… No I was using the desktop version, I cannot stand the M version, guess it would be nice if I had a touch screen..…when I finally got my computer to download the Acrobat Standard XI program, not sure how it worked, but I think it had something to do with Windows 8 not allowing itself to update all my apps and programs, even though my computer was set to automatically update any Windows/Microsoft updates…finally I got my Windows updates done, it downloaded like 36 files…and then I had to restart,(which also could have been playing a factor)…so finally got the program downloaded on Windows 8…but then I tried to run the new program and it says install serial #...so I assume that it was asking for the serial # for the Acrobat Standard XI…finally after googling the web, I found somebody that said try your older serial # from the previous program, and when I did this it finally works.. you would think with a brand new Windows computer I would have no problem installing Windows Updates…somebody needs to make a sticky about this, I am sure I am not the only one haiving this problem..
