HELP! ViewObject Generation From SQL

Hi,
I was wonding if anyone knew how to get a viewobject from an sql statment with 4 paramters and diplay it as a read only form. The sql statment takes 4 parameters form a jsp form. I am currenlty able to get my viewoject from the generated by mysql statement as below, but unable to pass in parameters to the view-object and disply the view-object read-only table result.
select
concat seg_org,seg_des),
booking_class,
farebase,
ticket_designator,
sum(segment_fare),
count(segment_fare),
sum(segment_fare)/count(segment_fare)
from arc
where
flight_date between to_date('?','YYYY-MM-DD') and
to_date('?','YYYY-MM-DD')
and concat(seg_org,seg_des)='??'
and substr(fop,1,1)='C'
group by concat(seg_org,seg_des),
booking_class,
farebase,
ticket_designator
How do I pass in the 4 variables from a JSP Form into the queston mark paramter (?) within the sql statment? Thanks in advance to anyone who knows the solution!

Steven,
I'm using JDev 10g version 9.0.5.2. I have tried using both the (?) and (:0) style parameter markers. I am still having trouble passing in parameters from a jsp page to the view object. If I created my view object and not use the "expert mode", then passing in parameters would be no problem, however, when i create my view object in "expert mode", I can't pass in paramters from a jsp page.
I am currently passing in parameters from the jsp page using the same procedure as describe in the article, "How To Build a Simple JSP Search Form", where it demonstates the uses of the method setWhereClause() but with no luck for an object view that is created in expert mode.

  • Need help in Report From SQL Query

    Hi All,
    I am facing a problem with a report. I need your help.
    I am creating a Report From SQL Query (Portal) with some arguments passed at runtime. I am able to view the output, if the query returns few rows ( arount 1000 rows). But for some inputs it needs to generate >15000 records, at this point the page is getting time out (i think!) and showing error page. I am able to execute query from the SQL Plus console ot using TOAD editor. Here the query is not taking more that 2 mins time to show the result.
    If i am executing from Portal i observed that, once i give the appropriate input and hit submit button a new oracle process is getting created for the query on UNIX (I am usign "TOP" command to check processes). The browser page will be shown error page after 5 minutes (i am assuming session time out!) , but on the backend the process will be executed for more than 30 mins.
    I tried also increase the page time out in httpd.conf, but no use.
    The data returned as a result of the query is sized more than 10 MB. Is caching this much data is possible by the browser page? is the returned data is creating any problem here.
    Please help me to find appropriate reasone for the failure?

    There could be a variety of reasons for the delayed processing of this report. That includes parameter settings for that page, cache settings, network configurations, etc.
    - explore best optimization for your query;
    - evaluate portal for best performance configuration; you may follow this note (Doc ID: *438794.1* ) for ideas;
    - third: for that particular page carrying that report, you can use caching wisely. browser cache is neither decent for large files, nor practical. instead, explore the page cache settings that portal provides.
    - also look for various log files (application.log and apache logs) if you are getting any warnings reflecting on some kind of processing halt.
    - and last but not the least: if you happen to bring up a portal report with more than 10000 rows for display then think about the usage of the report. Evaluate whether that report is good/useful for anything?

  • Data Dictonary generation from SQL Developer Data Modeler.

    Hi,
    How can I generate a comprehensive data dictionary using this tool in a flexible way? I tried with Export -> To CSV option but it generated lot of CSV files with lot of unnecessary information which are frustratingly scattered.
    regards,
    Dipankar.

    Hi Dipankar,
    "Export to CSV" is oriented to reporting, thus things are denormalized there. Information from logical and relational models is there, domains and logical types, usage of entities and attributes in data flows and processes in data flow diagrams. Export provides snapshot of your design and references there are valid for that snapshot.
    Best regards,

  • Migration Workbench is messing up data in converted from SQL Server image fields.

    I am working on porting a SQL Server 7 database to Oracle 8i (8.1.6 release 2). In the SQL Server database I have several tables that contain image fields that hold binary data (like Word documents, and other files). When I port the database to Oracle, the data in these fields gets garbled (the resultant records contain the correct amount of data (bytes), yet the data is different). Data in image fields that contain text oriented data ports correctly (i.e. if you just saved a long string in the field). Has anyone else posted a similar problem? Is there a workaround here to get the data stored in these image fields to port correctly?

    The thing is DDL of SQL Server and Oracle are quite different, without the help of MW from SQL Developer. You can't convert SQL server version of DDL to Oracle version. Of course you can accomplish the same thing using other tools like ERwin and Visio. Since SQL Developer is free why bother?

  • Help with translating SQL query from SQL Server syntax to Oracle syntax

    Hi,
    is it someone that can help me translate following SQL query from SQL Server syntax to Oracle syntax.
    SELECT ID,
    [LMT(MTR)] = MAX(case when TYPE = 'LMT' then VALUE end),
    [AAD(KGM)] = MAX(case when TYPE = 'AAD' then VALUE end),
    [VOL(MTQ)] = MAX(case when TYPE = 'VOL' then VALUE end)
    FROM yourtable
    GROUP BY ID
    Your help is highly appreciated, thanks in advance.

    Like this,
    SELECT ID,
    MAX(case when TYPE = 'LMT' then VALUE end) LMT_MTR,
    MAX(case when TYPE = 'AAD' then VALUE end) AAD_KGM ,
    MAX(case when TYPE = 'VOL' then VALUE end) VOL_MTQ

  • Change the mapping generation code from sql*loader to pl/sql

    I want to use a mapping with a flat file operator to generate pl/sql code even if a mapping generate sql*loader code as default.
    I tried to change the Language generation property of the mapping but an API8548 error message is shown. The suggested solution by OWB is to change the language generation code in the property inspector of the mapping.
    I can't use external table because I have to work with a remote machine.
    What i have to do to change the generation code from SQL*Loader to PL/SQL?

    How about breaking this out into 2 mappings? In the first mapping, map a flat file operator to an table using SQL*Loader code. Then define a second mapping using the table as source and therefore generate PL/SQL. Then use process flow to launch the 2nd map to run after completion of first.

  • Entity DATE type attribute : Derieved From SQL Expression for date format

    Hi,
    I want to set one of the Entity's Date Attribute with specific format , for e.g DD-MM-YYYY
    I see a Derieved From SQL Expression checkbox, how can I define the SQL Expression
    can I use TO_DATE(EMP_START_DATE,'DD-MM-YYYY'), I want to insert a date in that format, when I am creating a row using viewObject.createRow()
    Java Type is oracle.jbo.domain.Date which take YYYY-MM-DD as a string, I do not want to use this format
    Thanks,

    Here is a solution, but I am sure it is not the best one. It will work in a hurry. Maybe you can create a helper method to generalize this conversion until something more succinct comes along for US:
    This code assumes an import of jbo.oracle.domain.Date.
        public void updateDateTest () {
            AddressesViewImpl lVO = (AddressesViewImpl)this.getAddressesView1();
            AddressesViewRowImpl lRow = (AddressesViewRowImpl)lVO.first();
            System.out.println("create date for current record is currently: " +
                               lRow.getCreationDate());
            java.util.Date today = new java.util.Date();
            SimpleDateFormat dateFormat =
                new SimpleDateFormat("dd-MM-yyyy");
            SimpleDateFormat jboDateFormat =
                new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-MM-dd");
            String lSampleDateString = "15-04-2010";
            java.util.Date lSampleDate = null;
            try {
                lSampleDate = dateFormat.parse(lSampleDateString);
            } catch (ParseException e) {
                System.out.println("Parsing exception thrown:  " + e.getMessage() +
                                   "\n ==> caused by \n==>"+ e.getCause().getMessage());
                lRow.setCreationDate(new Date(jboDateFormat.format(lSampleDate)));
            System.out.println("about to commit; create date for current record is currently: " +
                               lRow.getCreationDate());
            this.getDBTransaction().commit();
            System.out.println("resetting to some other date; create date for current record is currently: " +
                               lRow.getCreationDate());
                lRow.setCreationDate(new Date(jboDateFormat.format(today)));
            this.getDBTransaction().commit();
        }I defined this code in my Application Module Impl file and ran it with the BC tester. Here was its output:
    Mar 18, 2010 8:27:54 AM oracle.jbo.jbotester.MainFrame main
    INFO: BC4J Tester started.
    Source breakpoint occurred at line 66 of FusionExperimentsAMImpl.java.

  • I updated my iPod touch 4th generation from the latest iOS 4 update (i think maybe iOS 4.3.5 or something like that) to iOS 5.1.1 and my Photos, Videos, contacts, music, App data, etc. was deleted. How can I all the data back?

    I updated my iPod touch 4th generation from the latest iOS 4 update (i think maybe iOS 4.3.5 or something like that) to iOS 5.1.1. I updated to iOS 5.1.1 on a Windows XP Home Edition with the Service Pack 3 installed on the Windows XP (which I believe is the latest version). After updating, I unplugged my iPod from the computer. I saw that all my photos and videos were on my iPod, but there were no apps. A window popped up and told me to enter a passcode for my iPod. I entered a passcode. I then locked my iPod and entered what I thought to be the correct passcode, but my iPod remained unlocked. Desperate, I tried many passcodes with failure. After a while, my iPod became disabled for a long time. I decided to reset my iPod. After I reseted it, I chose to reset from my earlier back up. After reseting, my computer loaded on all my apps. But, when I started using my iPod, I realized all my photos, videos, music, app data (like game saves and high scores), etc. were gone! I have no idea what to do and I am very stressed about this! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME GET ALL MY STUFF BACK!!!!!!

    Go to iTunea>Preferences>Devices and see if there is a backupright at the time you did the update. Then try restoring from that backup. If the apps are in your iTunes library, any app data will be restored to the iPod.
    When restoring from an iOS 4 (or later) backup, if the device had a passcode set, iTunes will ask if you want to set a passcode (and remind you that you had protected your device with a passcode). iTunes will not ask you to set a passcode when restoring from iOS 3.x and prior backups.
    Therefore, remembe the passcode that you enter this time.
    It appears that if you restore from a backup, that backup is not subseqyently overwritten by the next backup.
