Help with carrage return in csv output

Hey guys,
Running Oracle rep 6i. Running a report through developer with the following sys param values set:
desformat=DELIMITED
desname=c:\mydev\test.csv
destype=file
When I open the .csv file in excel I have a carrage return('box') at the end of of the last cell on each line. Any work arounds for this? Here is my code:
SELECT 'Jurisdiction,Entry Updated,Entry By,Regulator,Cite,Project Manager,Priority,Effective DATE,Item,DATE OF INTO,Legislative Status,Applicable NASD RULES,Summary,Impact' cl_rec,

  • Help with interpreting explain plan (dbms_xplan) output

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to get to grips with reading and interpreting the explain plan or dbms_xplan output, and so I hope someone can help with the output below.
    So, with the explain shown below, does it mean that...
    a) it starts with step 8 and sends all rows to the nested loop in step 5
    b) it only sends (or thinks it sends) 1 row to step 5 from step 8
    c) For each row supplied from step 5, there will be an index lookup at step 8 to access the table at step 6
    d) Step 8 only gets (or think it gets) 1 row
    If it does mean that only 1 row is expected by the optimizer, and yet the full table scan should return 150,000 records, and the table has up to date statistiucs, what else would cause the cardinality to be so far off?
    If it doesn't mean it will return 1 row then what does it mean ?

  • Help with a return statement please!

    hey, just hoping somone can help me with this return statement
    i have to add a method called "specialReport" this method takes a year as it's parameter. if the parameter is not a year between 1930 and 1969 inclusive it displays an error message, "not a valid year"
    if the parameter is a valid year, then it compares the parameter with the year field. if they are the same, and is the movie has been rented at least five times, the method will display the message "a good year for movies" if the years are different or the movie has NOT been rented at least five times, the method displays the message "try a different year"
    btw, the Year field is : yearReleased
    all help is very much appreciated!

  • Help with timing, input from Daq, output sound

    Hi
    I am a student member of OSA, working on a laser listener project to be used in examples for high schools students. It is a pretty old and simple experiment but something I think students would be into. {any suggestions for other experiments anyone might have I would love to hear}
    I read a voltage from a Daq off a reciever circuit, that signal is noisey so I filter it for the human voice range, 60Hz - 2000Hz. Then that filtered signal goes to the play waveform express VI. It works but the snag is I keep getting a "beeping" in the output sound, I believe this is from the loop cycling.  I have thought of something like a master/slave loops, storing the data in an array then waiting a sec or two and playing the sound from this data so I dont have to wait on the Daq to acquire new data. Any help or suggestions are greatly apprciated.
    This is a rough version sorry about the mess. I think it should also be noted that if the "Time Duration" is larger that 0.02 then that makes the number of samples larger than what the Daq can handle.
    Thank you very much in advance for all of the help and your time.

    Hi Jason,
    I took a look at what is happening in the play waveform express VI and the issue may be related to starting/stopping the sound card every time the loop iterates, similar to what I suggested with the DAQmx VIs in my previous post. To look into the code behind an express VI, you should copy the express VI to another section of your code or to another VI completely, because once you show the block diagram for it, you will not be able to use the express VI configuration dialog anymore for that instance of the VI. Once you copy the play waveform express VI, right click on the copy and select "Open Front Panel." Then, navigate to the block diagram and keep opening the subVIs until you find the "Simple Write" VI (see below for a screenshot of this VI). Here, you will see that there is a "Sound Output configure" VI as well as a "Sound Output Clear" VI. Since these are within the while loop of your top level VI, the "beeping" in your output may be caused by the constant configuring and stopping of the sound card with these VIs. What I suggest is that you use the code in the express VI as an example to code your own sound output vi that is configured once outside the while loop and stopped once after the while loop. Hope this helps!

  • Need help with a simple prime number output program

    ok, the teacher asked for a program to output the first 90 prime numbers and i have been able to do that so far. but now he is asking for the numbers to be printed in a grid of columns and rows. specifically 9 across and 10 down.
    im stumped. what should i do 0_o
    so far, this is my program:
    package primetest;
    public class Main {
    public static void main(String args[]){
    int num1,num2;
    int flag=0; //Checks to see if the number in question is prime or not
    for(num1=1;num1<=463;num1++)
    flag=0;
    for(num2=1;num2<num1;num2++) //Remove the num2<=num1 and let it be as shown
    if(((num1%num2)==0) & num2!=1) //Thus you can remove the third condition
    flag=1; //Flag set to indicate that the number is prime
    if(flag==0)
    System.out.println(num1);
    }

    Congratulations, your code compiles, runs, and appears to produce correct output. (I didn't check every result.) That's far more than most students manage.
    I'd recommend that you separate generating the values from printing them. Can you store primes in an array and then pass that array to another method that prints them out according to your assignment's requirements?
    The good news is that you've solved a good chunk of the problem already. You only have the printing to worry about.
    I'd improve on your class naming. Main? C'mon. How 'bout PrimeFinder or something with a bit more imagination. Names matter in programming. If you gave me this class I'd have to look at the source code to figure out what Main did, but PrimeFinder gives me a hint just from the name.
    Move that stuff out of the main() method and into one of its own. Maybe you can pass in the upper limit over which you want the method to search for primes and return an array of values.

  • Help with formatting parameters in html output?

    Hi --
    I would like to use a style sheet to adjust the way that javadoc displays lists of parameters below each method. In the HTML output, the code around the parameter name and description looks like this:
    <dd><code>filterContainers</code> - True if the containers within the database
    are to be considered individually during task assignment; false if the entire database is to be assigned as a single task.
    </dd>
    I apologize if this is basic CSS question, but I don't understand how to change the way 'filterContainers' is formatted -- maybe make it italic or something. I was also hoping to increase the padding below each parameter name/description because they seem to squished together.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Jen

    Add this to stylesheet.css to make "filterContainers" italic:
    dl dd dl dd code {
    font-style: italic;
    }This adds space below lines inside dd
    dl dd dl dd {
    padding-bottom: 3px;
    }(You could change it to padding-top to add the space above instead.)
    The sequence "dl dd dl dd code" is the nested hierarchy of HTML tags relative to body.
    Here are the CSS elements defined above: (CSS 2.0)

  • Need Help with Filenames in a Batch Output

    Hi All,
    I have been trying to output files from FCP through Compressor to a particular destination on my hard drive. Setting up the destination in Compressor has not been the problem. But what I'd like to avoid is having to delete the destination folder's name from the filename after I've done a Batch output in Compressor. It's a pain when I'm outputting 30 files at time. Can someone help me figure out how to retain the ability to output to my destination, but not have the sequence name (exported from FCP) appended to the end of the output filename?
    Sorry I had to post here. I posted a similar message to the Compressor discussion, but nobody has answered and I kinda need the help now!
    Thanks for understanding.

    You can rename them in Compressor before you send it on for compression, but there's no setting to automatically do this don't think.

    There are plenty of threads about boot-time optimisation, and a wiki page also. Please search/read before asking.
    Also, as you clearly intend to mess around with system-critical stuff like the kernel and its modules, I'd strongly recommend learning about it first, rather than just asking for a list of modules to remove.

  • Help with if statement in cursor and for loop to get output

    I have the following cursor and and want to use if else statement to get the output. The cursor is working fine. What i need help with is how to use and if else statement to only get the folderrsn that have not been updated in the last 30 days. If you look at the talbe below my select statement is showing folderrs 291631 was updated only 4 days ago and folderrsn 322160 was also updated 4 days ago.
    I do not want these two to appear in my result set. So i need to use if else so that my result only shows all folderrsn that havenot been updated in the last 30 days.
    Here is my cursor:
    /*Cursor for Email procedure. It is working Shows userid and the string
    You need to update these folders*/
    DECLARE
    a_user varchar2(200) := null;
    v_assigneduser varchar2(20);
    v_folderrsn varchar2(200);
    v_emailaddress varchar2(60);
    v_subject varchar2(200);
    Cursor c IS
    SELECT assigneduser, vu.emailaddress, f.folderrsn, trunc(f.indate) AS "IN DATE",
    MAX (trunc(fpa.attemptdate)) AS "LAST UPDATE",
    trunc(sysdate) - MAX (trunc(fpa.attemptdate)) AS "DAYS PAST"
    --MAX (TRUNC (fpa.attemptdate)) - TRUNC (f.indate) AS "NUMBER OF DAYS"
    FROM folder f, folderprocess fp, validuser vu, folderprocessattempt fpa
    WHERE f.foldertype = 'HJ'
    AND f.statuscode NOT IN (20, 40)
    AND f.folderrsn = fp.folderrsn
    AND fp.processrsn = fpa.processrsn
    AND vu.userid = fp.assigneduser
    AND vu.statuscode = 1
    GROUP BY assigneduser, vu.emailaddress, f.folderrsn, f.indate
    ORDER BY fp.assigneduser;
    BEGIN
    FOR c1 IN c LOOP
    IF (c1.assigneduser = v_assigneduser) THEN
    dbms_output.put_line(' ' || c1.folderrsn);
    else
    dbms_output.put(c1.assigneduser ||': ' || 'Overdue Folders:You need to update these folders: Folderrsn: '||c1.folderrsn);
    END IF;
    a_user := c1.assigneduser;
    v_assigneduser := c1.assigneduser;
    v_folderrsn := c1.folderrsn;
    v_emailaddress := c1.emailaddress;
    v_subject := 'Subject: Project for';
    END LOOP;
    END;
    The reason I have included the folowing table is that I want you to see the output from the select statement. that way you can help me do the if statement in the above cursor so that the result will look like this:
    emailaddress
    Subject: 'Project for ' || V_email || 'not updated in the last 30 days'
    v_folderrsn
    v_folderrsn
    etc

    This table is to shwo you the select statement output. I want to eliminnate the two days that that are less than 30 days since the last update in the last column.

    How do I incorporate a if else statement in the above cursor so the two days less than 30 days since last update are not returned. I do not want to send email if the project have been updated within the last 30 days.

  • Need help with WMI code that will send output to db

    'm new to WMI code writing, so I need some help with writing code that we can store on our server. I want this code to run when a user logs into their computer
    and talks to our server. I also want the code to:
    * check the users computer and find all installed patches
    * the date the patches were installed
    * the serial number of the users computer
    * the computer name, os version, last boot up time, and mac address
    and then have all this output to a database file. At the command prompt I've tried:
    wmic qfe get description, hotfixid
    This does return the patch information I'm looking for, but how do I combine that line of code with:
    wmic os get version, csname, serialnumber, lastbootuptime
    and
    wmic nicconfig get macaddress
    and then get all this to output to a database file?

    Thank you for the links. I checked out http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/scriptcenter/dd793612.aspx and
    found lots of good information. I also found a good command that will print information to a text file.
    Basically what I'm trying to do is retrieve a list of all installed updates (Windows updates and 3rd party updates). I do like that the below code because it gives me the KB numbers for the Windows updates. I need this information so my IT co-workers &
    I can keep track of which of our user computers need a patch/update installed and preferably which patch/update. The minimum we want to know is which patches / updates have been installed on which computer. If you wondering why we don't have Windows automatic
    updates enable, that's because we are not allowed to.
    This is my code so far.
    #if you want the computer name, use this command
    get-content env:computername
    $computer = get-content env:computername
    #list of installed patches
    Get-Hotfix -ComputerName $computer#create a text file listing this information
    Get-Hotfix > 'C:\users\little e\Documents\WMI help\PowerShell\printOutPatchList.txt'
    I know you don't want to tell me the code that will print this out to a database (regardless if it's Access or SQL), and that's find. But maybe you can tell me this. Is it possible to have the results of this sent to a database file or do I need to go into
    SQL and write code for SQL to go out and grab the data from an Excel file or txt file? If I'm understanding this stuff so far, then I suspect that it can be done both ways, but the code needs to be written correctly for this to happen. If it's true, then which
    way is best (code in PowerShell to send information to SQL or SQL go get the information from the text file or Excel file)?

  • Return to Vendor with Shipping - Help with the credit memo

    Hey guys,
    I've configured return deliveries to vendors, using a return PO with shipping, then creating an RL delivery type > transfer order> post goods issue.
    All that works fine. My trouble is trying to set up the credit memo. I'm not an SD consultant so I don't know too much about billing.
    I go to VF01 to create the billing document, however I receive an error that the delivery type (RL) is not allowed for billing type F2. I know where the config is to set up this relationship (SD>Billing>Maintain Copying Control for Billing Documents), but I would have thought a different billing type (something for credit memos) would be used instead of F2.
    In standard sales, the billing type is determined from the sales order type. As there is no sales order in this instance, where is the billing type being determined? Why is SAP trying to create my billing document with and F2 billing type.
    Thanks for you help/info,
    Mark.

    Sorry, this is not clear to me.
    If you send back goods to your vendor - generally - you send back the goods because those goods are damged. In this case it is your vendor who issues credit memo and not you to your vendor.
    MM credit memo (that is issued by your vendor) can be posted in MIRO. If your vendor issues debit memo it can be posted in MIRO too.
    Please check retrun delivery with mvt 122:
    http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/a5/63351643a211d189410000e829fbbd/frameset.htm
    Return delivery with mvt 161:

    So, I don't think you can do anything with your return delivery in VF01.

  • Scheduled Excel/CSV output with 65k rows

    Hi Experts,
    I just wanted to confirm if in 3.1, can the scheduled excel/csv output handle >65 rows.  From what we've read, it is possible and we assumed that's thru manual run.  However, we aren't too sure if it is the same when scheduled.
    Kind Regards,
    Mark

    Hi,
    When the Webi excel output is > 65K rows, the 1st tab contains the 1st 65K rows and the rest goes to 2nd tab and forth and each tab has maximum 65K rows.
    However, there is a limitation on the total number of tabs can be created in a excel file during this conversion.  You will find out when you get there.
    Hope this helps,
    Jin-Chong

  • CSV output selects all values returned by htmldb_item.select_list_from_lov

    I have a report with several columns using htmldb_item.select_list_from_lov. When I enable CSV Output (export to Excel) All the values in each of the columns get exported to Excel, not only the one selected in the report. For example. A value of ABC is selected in the report (stored in the database and this is a valid value in the LOV). In the drop down I also have values of DEF, GHI and IJK. I would expect only ABC to be exported, but I actually get ABC, DEF, GHI, IJK (all possible values) instead all displayed in the same column.
    Any ideas?

    I was able to work through this problem. Thank You.
