Help With Deployment Workbench Defaults

I have inherited a WDS box that seems to have images on it when I PXE boot to it. But when I go to the Deployment Workbench, nothing is listed under Deployment Shares.
How is this box deploying images? It does boot into Lite-Touch X64 when I PXE to it.
When I create a new share, it still boots to the old Lite-Touch image with the outdated images on it.
Any help you could provide would be great! Thanks in advance.

I think there is a disconnect here.
The Bootstrap.ini file is stored on your Deployment Share \\server\DeploymentShare$\control\bootstrap.ini
You can edit this file all you want... However... the changes won't get reflected in your WDS boot image ... until ... you perform the "Update Deployment Share" task within the MDT Console *AND* upload the new
\\server\DeploymentShare$\Boot\LitetouchPE_x??.wim image to your WDS Server.
If you are unsure if you performed the "update" step properly, then use a tool like 7-zip to Open the *.wim file and verify the <WIM>:\deploy\scripts\bootstrap.ini file within the *.wim file was updated correctly.
If you are still having problems logging in, then press F8, and verify the x:\deploy\scripts\bootstrap.ini file points to the *CORRECT* server. Then, use your System Administrator Experience to manually connect to the server specified in the bootstrap.ini
file:
net.exe use * \\server\deploymentShare$ /u:server\username *
If you can not connect to the server, then the problem is on your end with your server, user account or permissions, if you can connect to the server, then there is some other problem, I don't know.

  • Help with Deploy

Can someone help me with deploying the sample application 'jdbc simple'?
In have successfully built it using ant and have verified the JAR, WAR, EAR and EJB files are all in the corect place.
In the administrative console, the tutorial says to select and expand the Applications node under the application server instance "server1".
The problem is there are no applications that show up under the Applications node. I have stopped and started the app server and the console several times.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Jim,
I guess you did execute the ant target deploy .
    Use:
    c:\sun\appserver7\bin\>asant deploy
    to deploy the application.
Get back if you have any issues.

Seems to be some kind of classloader issue.
You can check if the session has a descriptor for the class by calling,
    session.getDescriptor(Class.forName("t3.model.NibuSalaryWorksheets"));
It is most likely that the class is on the classpath twice.
Instead of loading the sessions.xml with the thread class loader you could try using the classes class loader.
    i.e.
    DatabaseSession session = (DatabaseSession)sessionManager.getSession(xmlLoader, "default", t3.model.NibuSalaryWorksheets.class.getClassLoader());

There is no issue for BSO cubes. Internally the BSO outlines are different from ASO cubes and this restriction does not appear in them. For ASO cubes, the problem is caused by deleting and readding dimensions. If you do incremental builds on dimensions, you will not have the 255 dimension issue, but the ASO outline will still grow. So the compaction utility in EsscmdQ is still valid for that.

    cd /var/opt/SUNWwbsvr7/https-wireless.comms.beta.com/bin

The last startserv threw some errors (shown below), but said "successfully started".
http://<host>:8080/amconsole does not work..says "Not found"

I did have trouble with the Identity Suite 5 Update 1 install and ended up uninstalling that and repeating that step.Cleaning up after a failed JES5u1 install/deployment is difficult e.g. "uninstalling" Access Manager does not remove entries/configuration from the Directory Server instance. I usually just re-install Solaris afresh and start again.
The directory server instance was running, but I did a stop/start-slapd just to be sure. The error you provided indicates there was an authentication problem, usually to the Directory Server instance. There can be any number of causes of this problem including the directory server not running, or the AM authentication details e.g. cn=dsameuser/cn=puser being inconsistent between the DS instance and AM configuration.

    Close enough forum :-)
    Ok Quick checklist.
    Tomcat is running?
You can access the Tomcat home page
    http://localhost:8080 ?
In [myDirectory] you have a folder called WEB-INF,
    with a valid web.xml file?
    Your website should be:
    http://localhost:8080/[myDirectory]/myJspPage.jsp
where [myDirectory] is the name of the directory
    under webapps.
I will you point you in the direction of a tutorial.
This should be installed on your machine as well:
    http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat/tomcat-5.0-doc/appdev
    /index.html
    specifically
    http://jakarta.apache.org/tomcat/tomcat-5.0-doc/appdev
    /deployment.html
    cheers,
evnafetsThanks for the prompt reply. Will follow the tutorial.

  • Help with Deploy javaFx applet to the web, please

I am new to JavaFx. I have a difficult time to deploy it to the web as an applet. Java console indicates that my jnlp file is not available. Here is what I have done:
    1. In the javaFx project (netbeans project), I put together a small application following the tutorial (app). Run as standard desktop app, it works fine. Run as applet, everything is ok except no images.
    2. In another web project (also netbeans project), I add the javaFx project generated app.jar to the web-inf/lib folder, modify the index.jsp to include a javaFx project generated app.html file and put it at the root of the web application. I also put the favaFx project generated app_browser.jnlp file in the same folder as index.jsp and app.html. Later on also in the web-inf/lib with app.jar. No matter where i put this app.jnlp file, I only see the spinning java logo. Java console states that jnlp is not available.

    Welcome to the Sun forums.
It would be worth checking the deployment launch file (JNLP) using JaNeLA *(<- link).* As the other poster mentioned, the file is invalid (OK - not well-formed, but possibly also invalid after that is fixed). Also, JaNeLA should warn you that the resources in WEB-INF are not accessible.
Please do not repost(1) questions in future.
    (1) Post a question twice, or more.

  • Need help with deployment

    Hello there,
I am learning EJB's through the J2EE tutorial on the web. In chapter 24, Getting Started with Enterprise Beans, an example for conversion between currency types is implemented through EJB's.
I have tried several times deploying that application but I always get some error. One of the most repeating error is
    [TIMEOUT: 'ProgressObject' never started running.]
    !!! Operation Incomplete [NotRunning] !!!
The example talks about Creating an Enterprise Bean and has code for a Application Client as well as a Web Client. I tried adding both to the application as well as only one of them, but am still getting errors.
I am running on Windows XP and of course using Sun Application server. My JDK version is 1.4.2_06.
    Thanks,
    Praveen.

    tspragg,
Here are the results of an Internet search I did:

  • Need Help with deployment of EJB3 entities

I have a JDEVELOPER application with 3 projects Model, Utility, and View Controller. I am having a problem getting this app to deploy and I am really getting confused with all the files that some say should be in the deployment like ejb-jar.xml and application.xml or persistence.xml. Could someone please point me to a site that details how to deploy an EJB3 application using entities with annotation to an Oracle 10.1.3 Application Server. I guess I am getting really confused because of the flux of EJB3, but I really like the way EJB3 works I am just having a fit trying to deploy. Thanks for reading this post and any help you can provide. Also all the examples that Oracle have are using ant to deploy, but with my company I cannot use ant because it is not an approved standard.
    Thanks,
    Thom

    tspragg,
Here are the results of an Internet search I did:
    (Hope it helps.)

My example given before should work on different machines, try to export the server key and import it into the
client keystore. Export the client key and import in the server keystore if you want the server to authenticate
    the client.

Check the method getSSLSocketFactory in the applet, that will open a keystore for you.

  • Help with maxage / limiting default recording disk usage

    I've got 2 related questions:
    1) Is it possible using -XX:StartFlightRecording and/or XX:FlightRecorderOptions to cause flight recording to only keep the last N minutes worth of recorded data on disk, so that any any point one can view data on the last N minutes worth of activity?  How?
    2) What is the maxage parameter supposed to effect?  Reading http://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/technotes/tools/solaris/java.html it seems like it's supposed to do the above, but I've not been able to see any difference in behavior with any of these args, and in particular, each of them is continuing to fill up the /tmp dir. with .jfc files well past the maxage limit.
    No maxage: -XX:+UnlockCommercialFeatures -XX:+FlightRecorder -XX:FlightRecorderOptions=defaultrecording=false,dumponexit=true,dumponexitpath=/tmp,loglevel=trace
    Maxage on StartFlightRecording: -XX:+UnlockCommercialFeatures -XX:+FlightRecorder -XX:StartFlightRecording=maxage=1m -XX:FlightRecorderOptions=defaultrecording=false,dumponexit=true,dumponexitpath=/tmp,loglevel=trace
    Maxage on FlightRecorderOptions: -XX:+UnlockCommercialFeatures -XX:+FlightRecorder -XX:FlightRecorderOptions=defaultrecording=false,dumponexit=true,dumponexitpath=/tmp,loglevel=trace,maxage=1m
    thx,
    Chris

"Is it correct that the XX:StartFlightRecording options are meant to only apply to a special start recording (that starts at server start time), while the XX:FlightRecorderOptions are meant to apply to any/all recordings"
-XX:FlightRecorderOptions is meant to configure global settings, but there are also options that controls the default in-memory recording (called "Hotspot default"), which can be turned on by setting defaultrecording=true. Since Flight Recorder records the union of all ongoing recordings, it will in practise apply to other recordings as well.
"The settings=path option seems to have no effect when given to XX:FlightRecorderOptions, even though it's listed in the documentation page above as being a supported option.  When I use settings=path with XX:FlightRecorderOptions, I still get the default settings.  Is this a known implementation or documentation bug?"
It's a known bug, as a workaround you can replace the file named default.jfc in JRE_HOME/lib/jfr with the settings file you want, i.e profile.jfc
    "With both XX:StartFlightRecording and XX:FlightRecorderOptions, what's the behavior when defaultrecording=false?  "
No default (in-memory) recording will be started
"The documentation says "Specifies whether the recording is a continuous background recording or it runs for a limited time. By default, this parameter is set to false (recording runs for a limited time)." What is this limited time (how long)?  And is it a limited time forward from the beginning, or backwards from the current time?  Why is this setting even needed given the maxage, maxsize, and duration settings?"
It's incorrect, defaultrecording=true is just a convenience option for starting the default in-memory recording. There is no limit put in place if you set it to false.
If you want to use a disk repository, you can ignore all options that includes the word "default" and just use -XX:StartFlightRecording.

  • Help with Deployment

    Hi,
The R12 environment im working with is setup to have the AK_TOP and a custom area called XXSC_TOP which has its own MDS directory quite similar in structure to the AK_TOP directory. This environment also has a JAVA_TOP setup. I have created a custom page with the PG XML residing in /oracle/apps/xxsc/midtier/webui, I also have some BC4J components residing in /oracle/apps/xxsc/midtier/server, and have followed the instructions which tells me to zip the myclasses folder and extract it to the JAVA_TOP directory. Import the PG XML to the database using the IMPORT command which I can verify has worked using jdr_utils package. It then tells me to register this function and assign it to a responsibility. I am using the System Administrator responsibility for this and have added a function called INTERFACE_DETAILS_09082007 to the Navigator menu. This function is of type SSWA jsp and I have put down OA.jsp?page=/oracle/apps/xxsc/midtier/webui/XXSCPG in the Web HTML section. I have created an eBiz user called Developer that has the System Administrator responsibility and have logged in and see both the menu and the function that I created, but when I click on my function it returns the following exception
    oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: Application: FND, Message Name: FND-INVALID APPLICATION. Tokens: APPL = xxsc;
I have tried a few other things since this exception was encountered such as creating an application with XXSC_TOP as its base path and creating a new responsibility that uses this application but have not had much success. Can anyone tell me if I am missing a step? The apache web server was restarted when I ran the import, does it need to be restarted for other changes? Your help is very much appreciated.
    regards,

Your custom application xxsc is not registered. You need to register your custom application with the corresponding custom top defined.

  • Need help with setting a default mail app

My computer is defaulting to gmail even though I have set Mail as the default application in both my gmail notifier and within Mail itself. I tried installing DefaultApps to force things, but it also shows Mail as the default. But when I go to click on an email address on a webpage it still opens gmail.
    Anyone have any suggestions?

    Sam,
Since I have never made any setting to use Gmail vs Mail, tell me where that selection was made? Have you installed anything that makes that selection available in Mail Preferences/General/Default Mail Reader?
You might try quitting Firefox and then open Home/Library/Preferences and locate the file named org.mozilla.firefox.plist and drag it to the Desktop. Then restart Firefox and test again.

  • Help with deployment manager

    Hi All
I'mm using OWB and when i click on the "PROJECT" tab and click on the "DEPLOYMENT MANAGER" , it pop's up a blank window and doesn't open the "DEPLOYMENT MANAGER". Can any one please suggest me whats happening? I'm using :
Oracle 10g warehouse builder client :10.1.0.4.0
    Oracle 10g warehouse builder repository:10.1.0.4.0
    Thanks

    Hi
This is the best way to find the exact reason of the problem as mention by Sutirtha ,
Invoke OWB client from the command prompt and see if there is any while opening deployment manager .
    1.Navigate to <OWB Home>\owb\bin\win32 directory.
    2.Run the command
    owbclient.bat 1>log.txt 2>&1
This will invoke the Warehouse builder client.
This should create a log file log.txt under <OWB Home>\owb\bin\win32 directory.
    Check that log.txt file .
Also review the runtime log file which is located at <OWB_CONTROL_CENTER_HOME>\owb\logs directory for additional information .
