Help with Flash Banner Opening on every page

Hey guys I been trying to optimize my site abit. I seen on
some new flash templates that when the flash banner opens the first
time the browser will not call it again when clicking on new page
links. I also seen the banner incorperated with an iframe so it
only calls it once.
Currently I have 6 .html pages each calling the flash banner
every time their clicked. This is taking loading time whenever a
user browses to a different page.
my site is
http://xpservers.net
and another i created is
http://energreenmetering.com
Can someone help me out ?

A 5.6MB file is way too big for a Flash movie to stream easily, even over DSL. Even 1 MB is pretty big for a Flash movie. A loading status indicator requires programming using the Flash authoring application.
The Flash export from keynote is probably not compressing the images a lot. Also the size of the presentation (800x600) is pretty large, and this is giving you a big file.
Try searching versiontracker.com for other slideshow tools with Flash export that will allow you to create a smaller canvas and compress your images more. But be aware that a series of bitmaps will always create a large Flash movie.
Good luck!

Can you loop in flash catalyst? I am new to catalyst and flash pro, so I am sorry if this is simple...
I have designed 3 art boards in Photoshop. I would like to have the art boards show for about 4 to 5 sec and then transition to the next slide or art board, I need this to happen automatically. Also there are buttons on each slide to redirect to any single art board. Example button 1, 2, 3.
I have already made the links, but I do not know how to set up the art boards to start looping on load of web page. I have seen this done on many websites, am I using the right program? I have both which one should I use? Can anyone recommend an easy tutorial that will show me step by step how to make my art boards transition and to make my slide 1, 2, 3, buttons work? Can anyone help?
    Thank you, Teresa

  • Help with flash video buffering

I need help with flash video buffering. I've created a
buffering graphic to show up when the clip is loading. The problem
that I'm having is that when the video finishs playing, the buffer
is empty and the graphic pops back on. The following is the code
that I'm using to call and buffer the video. Any help would be
    great!
    stop();
    var nc:NetConnection = new NetConnection();
    nc.connect(null);
    var ns:NetStream = new NetStream(nc);
    ns.setBufferTime(10);
    ns.onStatus = function(info){
    if(info.code == "NetStream.Buffer.Full"){

    rewindButton.onRelease= function(){
    ns.seek(0);

  • How Do I Launch Safari with Multiple Tabs Open to Specific Pages?

I'd like a Windows shortcut that opens Safari with multiple tabs open to specific pages. With other browsers (Firefox, IE, Chrome, etc.), this is easily done by composing a command line that lists all desired URLs. However, Safari doesn't seem to use the same command line syntax as other browsers. Furthermore, I can't find Safari's command line syntax documented anywhere. From the comments I've seen while researching this question, I suspect this is a neglected area of Safari development, and that Safari simply can't be configured to open multiple pages. However, I'd like to make sure. Can it?
    -TC

It strikes me that it should be possible to do that (or something similar) by building a safari extension, TC. Both Sessions and SafariRestore are able to launch multiple tabs from a previous session, so it seems like you should be able to create an extension that launches multiple tabs open to specific sites when Safari is launched.

  • Win8.1/Chrome 64bit: NPAPI Flash Player crashes on every page with Flash content

    Hi,
Chrome 64bit (beta+) crashes on Win8.1 64bit, if I use the NPAPI Flash Player (v15 beta or v14 stable) and open a website with Flash content.
    More details here:
    https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=402262

Turning off NPAPI in Chrome 64-bit will be a very bad move. I'm using a Windows 7 Setup, with a Core2Quad 65 nm CPU and a pathetic Geforce GT 8500 GPU that is basically worthless. PPAPI  flash betas are available as a standalone now at this point, but I have done lots of side by side comparisons, and the PPAPI plugin is absolute garbage compared to the far superior Netscape architecture based plugin. I'm not the only one saying that. I have found loads of forums, and instruction videos online to fix Chrome video playback on youtube for instance. I have to install "Magic Actions for Youtube" addon for chrome so that I can disable HTML5. then I have to go into the plugins menu on chrome and disable pepper flash. I keep the 64 bit flash betas regularly updated this way, and I am getting peak performance. Once in a blue moon it will crash, but I think that is Google's fault. HTML5 should not be the default option in youtube. Compared to Flash, it does not have great GPU acceleration ability, and HTML5 in 64-bit doesn't even perform superior to 32 bit web browsers, where as 64 bit flash is a leap forward, as long as it's the NPAPI version, that is. Problems I have with the HTML5 and also Pepperflash are very similar.   The audio is out of sync with video, and the cpu is maxed out from memory leaking. I'm skipping frames and seeing glitches left and right. The seek functions in pepperflash never work right on youtube, you have to click an inch before wherever you want the video to play. On and on. Pepper flash has audio crackle. You can't get rid of the crackle from pepper flash or HTML 5. Yet, with NPAPI 64 bit flash beta in 64 bit chrome canary it plays PERFECTLY. once in a while I have it crash, which i think is the fault of the fact that I have to use an add on to force off HTML5. Why would I want html5, when flash NPAPI  64 bit produces superior picture quality on all quality settings. It's better in every conceivable way. Shame on Google for not putting more care into 64-bit flash on 64-bit Chrome. It couldn't possibly be a more important deal! You can tell pepperflash and HTML 5.0 are an afterthought. It's only youtube playback quality. why would that matter to google? OMG...
While I'm at it, I have one other issue that blows my mind. Adding command line flags in Chrome 64-bit (Canary) in Windows. Why do we have to add them through a shortcut in the "target" line? The target line runs out of space after 3 or 4 commands! I wish they would update Chrome Canary to allow for unlimited command lines to be added. It should be an option to add Command Lines on the About:Flags screen. I am so disappointed in these two glaring issues. It keeps me up at night.

  • Need help with flash player installation please !!!!

    Hello,
I need help with my flash player installation because every time I access a movie this is the message I receive.
This content on Xfinity TV is not available for viewing with Chrome's "Incognito" mode. To play this video using Chrome, please view this page without "Incognito" mode.
Still having problems? Try resetting your Flash player license.

Incognito mode is a Google Chrome setting when you open a new window (Cmd+Shift+N on a Mac Ctrl+Shift+N on Windows) It opens a "private" window with no cookies and no tracking. The problem with it is that when you disable cookies, your license files are not sent to the site (whetehr it's YouTube or xFinity or any other that uses license files for paid content)  and it treats you as if you're a first time visitor. Paid videos won't play wihtout the cookies sending the license file info.
This isn't a Flash Player setting. It's in Chrome. I did some research and according to Google, "Incignito" mode is off by default, and can ONLY be activate by the keyboard shortcut. There IS a way to disable it from the registry http://dev.chromium.org/administrators/policy-list-3#IncognitoModeAvailability

  • Help with inserting SWF file into .html page

I created a photo gallery in Flash CS5.5, using the advanced photo gallery template. It works fine as a standalone SWF file but it's not displaying properly when I try and insert it into the Gallery page of my website.
The thumbnails are showing as blank white boxes and the main image holder isn't showing at all, though the controls beneath it are showing. The SWF file and all the images are stored in site/images/gallery/ and my Gallery page is in the root. What's going on here? Can anyone help please?
    Thanks

If you are storing any of your Flash assets in sub-folders and having problems... it's most likely because of pathing problems. For review:
    Pathing issues
Almost always when it works on the local machine and not the server, it's a pathing problem.
You can put your Flash related files in whatever folders you want, they do NOT have to be in the root, they do NOT all have to be in the same folder. But if you have a problem and if sticking them all in the root folder works, then you know that the issue was a pathing problem.
Just remember that paths used in the .swf become relative to the Web page on which the .swf is placed, NOT it’s physical location.  So for example, if your .swf is in the flash/data folder and you use that .swf on a Web page in the root folder, you are in effect, removing that .swf from flash/data and putting it in root. So if the .swf is loading any related files (xml, images, video, etc), the path used inside the .swf to load the .xml file has to be relative to it's new location in root and then back down into flash/data. This is true even though when testing the .swf by itself, it can be inside flash/data and work just fine, since relative to it's location, the path is just fine, they are in the same folder. But if that same path is used when the .swf is placed on a page two folder levels up, the relative path has changed, the old "same folder" path will not work.
In fact if you are placing the .swf on a web page in a different folder than the .swf is stored in, and that .swf calls external assets, then direct clicking and opening of the .swf in it’s folder should NOT work! That’s because the paths to the external assets should be relative to the Web page and not the physical location of the .swf.
So just be sure that you use addresses relative to the final Web page locations (not physical file locations) and you can put the Flash related files in what ever folders you want.
    Best wishes,
    Eye for Video
    www.cidigitalmedia.com
What it boils down to is that you need to path the Flash assets from the Web page that you place the main .swf on... NOT the physical location of the .swf
    Best wishes,

  • Need help with flash templates in Mac...

Hello,  I did some searches in the forum but found nothing.
I have a problem.  I have a Mac and and using Dreamweaver CS5.5.
Recently I download some templates with flash from Hostgator.
The message I get is:   "This page contains some SWF objects that may not work properly in the most recent versions of Internet Explorer.  Dreamweaver cannot convert them to the new SWF markups.  Please delete each of them a insert again"
    Could you help me please?
    Thanks,

    Hello,
The support from HostGator.com told me this:
After reading about Adobe Dreamweaver and using the library SWF objects. This seems to be a fairly particular error with Adobe Dreamweaver CS4.
    I have read three articles:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/2958378?tstart=0
    http://www.dreamweaverclub.com/forum/showthread.php?t=33323
    http://www.vbforums.com/showthread.php?t=579625
They all concur this error is completely ignorable in some way. If you include the object, and just ignore the message, your content will still upload to your site. This has to do with how adobe has changed the embedding of objects since previous versions.
However, what I can concur from all of this is that you need to simply just re-add the file to your site/library, or just ignore the error message and the embed code should work just fine.
I test a hostgator template with flash on their server, and works fine.
I want to know your opinion.  T hanks for your help...

  • Firefox not helping with Flash problem

Ok, so, I'm getting really irritated with Flash. I talked to
a friend who was having flash problems and they said they
downloaded Firefox and it fixed the problem. Well, after doing

downloaded and "said" it installed correctly. But I still can't
play ANYTHING no Youtube STILL!! I go to youtube on Firefox and

Flash. I tried rebooting the computer. I tried uninstalling and
installing it AGAIN. What the F is the problem? I've made sure all
my AxtiveX controlls are set to whatever thry need to be, my
Shockwave is updated, my security is not interfearing. I'm getting
really pissed. I've been trying to fix this problem for months
now!! What else could be going wrong?? Is there something I haven't
tried yet? Do I just need to get a new F-ing computer? Someone
    help!!

Well the first thing you need to understand is this...
Flash Player for Windows Internet Explorer is an ActiveX
    control.
Flash Player for Windows for ALL other browsers is a plugin.
They do the same thing ultimately, but they're separate
downloads and on your machine they're actually seperate bits of
    software.
So the reason that so many people have success with Firefox
is that the Flash Player plugin seldom has install failures. But
for IE Windows users the Flash Player activex control often has
permission-related install failures that cause these kind of
issues. It's unfortunate, but very, very complex and we've been
fighting it for a long time.
So the thing to remember is that when you're talking about
Firefox, you're not dealing with ActiveX controls in ANY way.
So here's the question.. When you launch JUST Firefox, and go
to this page, what do you see?

  • Quick help with flash and html

    Hi folks,
just a quick query that i'm sure someone out there will know
the answer to (or at least i'm hoping someone will)
I've been working on a new site (first attempt so be gentle
    with any criticism please!!)
I used fireworks8 to create a navmenu and it works a treat,
however i also have flash on some of the pages, and the fireworks
submenus don't seem to like showing up over the flash!
    see
    http://www.gammies.co.uk/construction.asp
for what i mean. the nav links to construction, groundcare and
recreational don't show becuase of the flash. I was trying to see
if there was some option to send the flash to the back of the page
as such so that the navmenu was on top but couldn't get it, and i'm
no sure what i'd have to do code wise to change it (if it's a code
issue). By the way it does it in both firefox and IE
    All help greatly appreciated..
    Thanks
    Chris

All Active content on a page will always rise to the top, so
    to speak,
including Flash, certain form elements, Java applets, and
    Active X controls.
This means that each of these will poke through layers. There
    is not a good
cross-browser/platform reliable way to solve this issue, but
    if you can be
confident in your visitors using IE 5+ or NN6+, then you can
    use the Flash
wmode parameter (however, Safari does not support this
    properly!).

  • Help With Flash and HTML

I have just completed my website(www.Aquiteoddsite.com).
It is a variety cartoon site for my partner and I. We where
going to upload the file the other day but when we put it on an
HTML page- The Audio was happing abut a second before the
animation. I then checked to make sure it was not in the actual
file. I wacthed it by itself and it worked fine. Then I tried again
to toput it on an html page- once again it wigged out. Finnaly I
tried to put it on a different site and it still failed o work
properly. I don't remeber futzing around with my publishing
    settings either.
If you be so kind as to help me, we would greatly apprecate
    it. to the 5th power.
    Thanks in advance. Quite Odd.

  • Help with Flash Player- Not Playing

I recently went to a website where it said that i needed to
download the latest version of Flash Player. I followed the
directions and installed it, and the movie came up after
installation, but on the website it still said i needed to install
flash player again. I went through the other forum posts and tried
everything, but it still wouldn't show up. Then today i was on the
website and finally the video came up, but then when i refreshed
the page the video was gone and it again said i needed to install
the latest version of Flash Player. The video has shown up twice in
the past day, then says i need to reinstall again. I've tried
everything, but the videos just wont show up. Does anyone know how
    to fix this for good?

JDB... your problems and solutions are different (and much
    more complex). Read this CAREFULLY.
Printable, lovingly formatted versions of these steps, valid
as of 9/15/2007 are available. I recommend printing them and
following along with the print version:
    .doc:
    http://www.supportflash.com/bent/flash_player_ocx_troubleshooting.doc
    .pdf:
    http://www.supportflash.com/bent/flash_player_ocx_troubleshooting.pdf
The issue is this: You have multiple accounts on your XP
machine. One account plays Flash no problem, the other doesn't,
although both are Administrator accounts. Or possibly you have only
one account, and that account fails to play any Flash content. In
any case if you have ANY odd trouble with the Flash Player ActiveX
control for Windows as of September 2007, these should be your
steps. And yes, you need to do both sets of steps, in order!
The cause: This is usually caused by either or BOTH of the
    following problems:
    1. Leftover locked bits of an old Flash Player installation
    2. Registry permission errors (aka 'ACL's)
OK so what do you do about this?
ONE: Identify possibly leftover Flash player bits
    a. Open C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash folder.
    b. Download the latest FP uninstaller from
    http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_14157.
    c. Run the uninstaller. If you get a notice saying you need
    to reboot, then reboot.
    d. Look at C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash folder.
    e. Does any file ending in .ocx remain? (flash.ocx,
    flasha.ocs, flash9d.ocx etc...)
e1. If no, then you don't usually have any leftover locked
    bits.
You're done with this part of the problem, proceed to TWO.
e2. If yes, then that remaining .ocx file may be locked.
    Right click it
and select properties and look at the version tab.
    What is the version number?
    f. Is the version number Flash Player 9.0.16.0 or earlier?
f1. Use the uninstaller instructions from this technote:
    http://www.adobe.com/go/4da116d3
-- section "Flash Player 9.0.16.0 and earlier"
-- DO NOT re-register the uninstaller. ONLY do this
    UninstFl.exe part.
Yes, you'll need to know how to use the command line to do
    this. If you're not
comfortable with that then take your machine to someone who
    is!
    g. Is the version number Flash Player 9.0.28.0 or higher?
g1. Use the uninstaller instructions from this technote:
    http://www.adobe.com/go/4da116d3
-- section "Flash Player 9 (9.0.28.0) and later"
-- DO NOT re-register the uninstaller. ONLY do this
    UninstFl.exe part.
In both the D and E sections above you'll need to use the
specific name of the control that remains
in the C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash. So if you had a
    stuck flash9b.ocx[DJM1] in the folder
and version was 9.0.28.0, your uninstall command would look
    like this:
    UninstFl.exe -u
    c:\windows\system32\Macromed\Flash\Flash9b.ocx
That said, if you have trouble running these commands it
really is necessary to find someone who knows how
to use the command line, either a friend or a local
professional. Or spend some time learning about the
    command line yourself.
    h. RERUN the uninstaller you downloaded earlier. This should
get rid of the remaining (now unlocked) .ocx file and fix any
    registry keys associated with it.
ALL of section "ONE: Identify possibly leftover Flash player
bits" is important. BUT this locked bit problem only happens on
maybe one out of 50 machines. So most people with installation
problems such as this are not going to have locked bits.
AND even after reinstalling you may still have continued
problems with Flash Player not being recognized.
Then we have to move on to section two..
    TWO: Registry Permission Problems
We have been working on Flash Player failures caused by
Windows System Registry issues. We have not been able to determine
what’s causing these permissions to change. But that change
prevents the successful installation of Flash Player ActiveX
    control (used by IE Windows).
Registry permission problems can be resolved using a tool
called SubInACL, built by Microsoft to correct system registry
    issues.
    Symptoms: What to look for:
    1. If you install Flash Player on IE and are unable to see
    Flash content on any webpage
    2. After installation C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash
will have flash 9c.ocx in it but it failed to register
    3. It appears that Flash Player installed correctly, but
    unable to view Flash content
    4. Flash Player works on other browsers, but NOT Internet
    Explorer
    5. If you are missing groups in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT Advanced
    Permissions
    6. If you have run registry cleaners in the past, this may
    have corrupted your system
Warning: The following solution involves the Windows System
Registry. Editing or manipulating the registry incorrectly can
result in serious system damage which may require re-installation
of the operating system. If you are not comfortable editing the
registry, then take your system to a professional. If you choose to
proceed, then it is essential that you create a complete system
backup and a Windows System Restore Point before proceeding. Adobe
Systems cannot be held responsible for damage resulting from this
    information.
    1. Select Start > Run
    2. Type in “regedit”
    3. Right click on HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
    4. Select Permissions
    5. Select Advanced
    For Vista
Compare your permissions with the ones in this screenshot.
    http://www.supportflash.com/vista_key.png
For Window XP Pro or other flavors of XP
Compare your permissions with the ones in this document
“Troubleshooting system registry issues that prevent Flash
Player installation” (scroll down to the bottom of page).
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=kb400116
Notice any major differences, missing groups, incorrect
    permissions?
How can you repair the System Registry, what's the fix
Download SubInACL from Microsoft to fix permission issues
that prevent the Flash Player Installation.
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=fb1634cb
NOTE: The Microsoft version of the .cmd script run by
SubInACL is not be run on any XP version other than Pro. HOWEVER,
the Adobe .cmd script in the above technote is tested safe for ALL
    VERSIONS OF XP!!!
If you have a Windows System Registry permission issue that
sounds like the one described above, SubINACL may be the solution.
Please note that if you have this issue on multiple accounts on one
machine you’ll need to fix each machine individually.
