Help with formatting a Graph in Numbers on ipad

I have created a spreadsheet to track the overall percentages of our kids basketball team free throws for the coaches.
I then have it on a graph but the colunms are super close to each other (attached picture).
I have tried to get it to spread them out evenly but no luck, does anyone know how to make the columns spread out?

Jamie,
As with all the iWork apps, the Inspector is where most of the settings are chosen. You can read all about this feature in the Numbers User Guide, a free download from the Help menu.
In Numbers there are 10 major Inspector tabs some of them has sub-tabs. Here's a screen shot of the Chart Inspector with the tab circled.
You are expected to click on the tab icon to switch Inspector contexts.
If there is no Inspector showing on your screen, use the View Menu to add one.

Jerry

  • Help with SELECT - selecting range of numbers

    Hi,
    I need a help with SELECT statement. I want to select Dates starting from today and ending 30 days back. So the result would be like:
    TRUNC(SYSDATE)
    TRUNC(SYSDATE) - 1
    TRUNC(SYSDATE) - 2
    TRUNC(SYSDATE) - 3
    TRUNC(SYSDATE) - 30I was thinking to simply select truncated SYSDATE in first column, and in second column numbers 0, 1, 2, ... 30. Then I would simply do a difference first column - second column. But how to select such sequence of numbers? I don't want to select each number (date) in separate select statement and then unioning them.
    Does anybody have an idea?
    Thanks for help, Dan

  • Help with Formatted Search with Date

    Hi experts,
    I need help with the following query. In the PO item level, I want to take a user entered date and add 6 weeks to it. For example, after a user enters in a date in the field u_Date1, then U_date2 will populate with U_date1 + 6 weeks.
    I can get the query to copy the U_Date1 field. However, once I add 6 weeks (+42) then I get an internal error. Please advise.
    select $[por1.u_date1] + 42
    from por1 t0
    inner join t1 on t0.docentry = t1.docentry
    where t0.linenum = $[por1.linenum] and
    t1.docentry = $[opor.docentry]
    Thank you for your help.  i am on 2007A PL 47.

  • Help with formatting fields in PDF...

    Hi -
    I´m working on a form that should be filled in from the internet...
    The design I did i InDesign - and the formfields I did i Acrobat Pro -
    and finally I´m finetuning everything in LiveCycle...
    I've runned into two problems...
    I need the date field to correct itself -
    if the user choice to use the wrong format...
    for example -
    we want to have YYYY-MM-DD
    and if the user writes DD MM YY -
    it should be accepted and corrected....
    is this possible - maybe with JAVA-script?
    Also - In Sweden anyway we always write the Social Security number in this way
    YYMMDD-NNNN ( N = Numbers between 0-9 )
    How can I get the field to recognize and to crave - "demand" this format...
    I´ll hope my Swinglish can be understandable?
    IdéSpiran

    I suggest that you make use of the Validation patterns for this. On the Object palette there is a Value tab and on that tab is a button for Validation Pattern. You can create a pattern in 4 areas - Display - what the user sees on teh screen, Edit - what the user enters in the field, Validation - what the value entered will be validated against and Data - what is stored in the data file. You will be interested in the Display pattern. Depending on the type of field you will see different data patterns ( i.e. Date fields show date patterns and TextFields have phone numbers, zip codes etc..). You can also create a custom pattern. Have a look in the docs about patterns and you will see what each of the chars represents and how to create one. For your SSN you will probably need javascript because of the combination of Date and number formats.
    Hope that helps

    Note that each Branch_Desc has 12 periods called CURRPERIOD,CURPERSUB1,CURPERSUB2 ...... and 12 values for those periods as VALUECURRENTPERIOD, VALUECURRENTPERIODSUB1, VALUECURRENTPERIODSUB2......
    I need to create a Line Graph for each Branch for the 12 periods as defined above where VALUECURRENTPERIOD, VALUECURRENTPERIODSUB1 etc. are the values for that period. The current BIPublisher Chart tool only allows one Value and One Label. In my case I have 12 VALUES (VALUECURRENTPERIOD etc.) and 12 LABELS (CURRPERIOD, CURPERSUB1 etc.). The SERIES or LEGEND should be the Branch Desc . So what I am looking for is to plot values(12 values) for 6 branches (so six lines) over a period of time (12 periods).

    Hi Tim,
    We have this XML data calculated from several tables where the layout was in the format of One account(a Branch in this case) and 12 periodic values for the same . So reformatting the XML is not going to be easy as the source data is like this itself. I tried un-pivioting the table (as this one is already pivoted) but it looks like Oracle doesn't support this feature yet, but is suported in DB2 or SQL. Please take a look at this link
    http://blogs.ittoolbox.com/database/technology/archives/unpivot-query-12798?close=true
    So I am stuck with the data in this format and users want a line graph for each branch over he period of time. May be somone on this forum can figure out how to un-pivot a table in Oracle. Thanks for your help in advance.

  • Help with formatting for Cross Tab Report Crystal 2008

    This is probably a simple question.  I have a cross tab report that displays sales by month for a period of 6 months.  These sales columns are formatted to be numbers with no decimals.  In addition to these columns, I have inserted columns that display the percentage up/down in sales over the previous month.  If I try to format the percentage columns, it changes every column to then display "##,##.##%" when I need to keep the sales columns at "##,###" with no decimal or percentage sign.
    1.  Is there a way to change the formatting of some of the columns but not all in a cross tab report?
    2.  If not, can I add a function that would change these in the calculation formula of the calculated member?
    I tried to add "%" but it wants it to return a number.
    Here is the current code:
    //The calculation formula is used in place of the summaries in Calculated Members.
    // This calculation formula must return a/an Number value.
    If GridValueAt (CurrentRowIndex,CurrentColumnIndex-3,CurrentSummaryIndex) = 0 then 0 else
    ((GridValueAt (CurrentRowIndex,CurrentColumnIndex-1,CurrentSummaryIndex) -
    GridValueAt (CurrentRowIndex,CurrentColumnIndex-3,CurrentSummaryIndex)) /
    GridValueAt (CurrentRowIndex,CurrentColumnIndex-3,CurrentSummaryIndex)) * 100
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Tobi

    Carl,
    Thank you for your help.  I did try your method but still couldn't get it to ignore the fact that it wanted a number.  I changed my approach a litte and managed to solve the problem.  Here is the method that I chose which managed to solve the problem.  If this is a poor way to solve it, please let me know as I am always open for new ways.
    Format Field > Number Tab > Customize > Currency  Symbol Tab
    Checked Enable Currency Symbol Fixed, changed  currency symbol to %.  This is the same thing that I did before which changes it for all columns.
    Beside Enable Currency checkbox, I added this formula:
    // This conditional formatting formula must return one of the following Currency Symbol Constants:
    // crNoCurrencySymbol
    // crFixedCurrencySymbol
    // crFloatingCurrencySymbol
    If GridRowColumnValue("InvoiceLine.TxnDate") = Date(0,0,0) then
        crFixedCurrencySymbol
    else
        crNoCurrencySymbol
    My added columns have a null date field so they take the currency format.  My other columns do not so they do not take the formatting.
    Thanks again for the help.

  • Need help with formatting a software RAID 5 array with xfs

    Hi,
    i'm tying to format a software RAID 5 array, using the xfs filesystem with the following command:
    # mkfs.xfs -v -m 0.5 -b 4096 -E stride=64,stripe-width=128 /dev/md0
    but all I get is the attached error message. It works fine when I use the ext4 filesystem. Any ideas?

    Sorry I numbered them to show the flow of information, this was also just a place for me to store info as I worked through it. I managed to get it to work by creating a partition that takes up the whole drive and is actually 22 GB larger than all the other drives (since I found out that the had root, swap and home partitions that are no longer needed).
    I should be able to resize the other partitions without a problem, correct? They're EXT4. Should I unmount the raid array and do them individually, remount the array, let it sync and do the next? Or just unmount the array, resize all of them, mount it and let it sync?

  • Can anyone help with a dynamic graph question?

    I have a subreport that I'm having a lot of difficulty with and I dont know if I've hit the limitations of CR or I just don't know how to do it.  I need to set the subreport graph parameters on the fly and I can't figure out how to do this.  Here is the situation:
    My report prints a vendor report card, one vendor per report page.  For each vendor, I need to access a table and pull all parts that the vendor supplies our company with.  Then, I need to create a seperate 2D bar graph for each part that is listed under the vendor.  Since this is a subreport and would run for each vendor, and each vendor can have 1 to n-number of different parts, I need to create these graphs on the fly. Is this possible?  Any suggestions.  The furthest I have gotten was I can create a OLE DB(ADO) command that retrieves the parts for each vendor.
    But from there I am stuck.  Once I have these parts per vendor, how can I iterate through them and create a new 2d bar graph for each one?  The graph itself would display on the x axis all of our vendors that supply us with a part, ranking them.  So if a vendor supplies us with Rubber Hoses, magnesium and Aluminum then I would need three graphs, one for each, Rubber Hoses, Mag, Al that would list the vendor on the x axis and points on the y axis pertaining to that specific part.  Understand?  Is this possible?  Help please.  Thank you.

    The CR for .NET SDK doesn't have the ability to create graphs on the fly. I suggest that you design your report in Crystal Reports and get it working the way you want there. Work as much with parameters and formulas as you can. The .NET SDK will allow you to pass parameters and modify formulas at runtime.

  • Help with formats and rendering.

    I am new to final cut pro, so am still getting the hang of everything.  Whenever I put my files into the timeline they need to be rendered before I can play them, same thing when I make a small change with a clip, this means I am only editing about half the time, and the other half I'm waiting for my files to render.  I tried to set up Easy Setup but wasn't sure of the format.  All my video files end in .m4v.  I also was thinking about getting more RAM to help speed up the rendering proccess and let me use the multiclip editing (which only plays frame-by-frame or crashes the program currently), does anyone know if that would help?   I'm using a 15 inch MacBook Pro with 2.4 GHz Intel Core Duo 2, 2GB of RAM, and 52.91 GB available on the hard drive. Thanks!

    It sounds like it's just the standard pixelization when the action is too fast for the bit rate. I don't know how you created the DVD, but you need to increase the bit rate of the video.
    If you did it in iDVD, I think the only way to do that is to go into the Project Info and set the encoding to Professional Quality. That's iDVD-speak for two-pass variable bit rate which will always be the best quality. It will take longer to encode, and it won't encode in the background, but it's worth it. Depending on your video, it will also let you fit a longer movie on one disc without a DL disc.
    If you're using iDVD, once you get a creation you're happy with, be sure to do File Menu---Save As Disc Image...  instead of just burning a DVD. The resulting file will let you burn multiple copies quickly (using Disk Utility) instead of re-encoding every copy.

  • Help with formatting multiline output into comma delimited ordered output

    I have 2 tables:
    SQL> desc table_1;
    Name Null? Type
    ===================================
    ID NOT NULL NUMBER
    DATA1 NOT NULL VARCHAR2(440)
    DATA2 NOT NULL VARCHAR2(1024)
    SQL> desc table_2;
    Name Null? Type

    ID NOT NULL NUMBER
    ATTNAME NOT NULL VARCHAR2(255)
    ATTVAL                          VARCHAR2 (4000)
    DATA1 NOT NULL CHAR(1)
    DATA2                          VARCHAR2 (2000)
    DATA3                          VARCHAR2 (255)
    I need to get ATTVAL from where e.g. ATTNAME=att_name1 to ATTNAME=att_name6 from every entry (with its unique ID), and format the output into comma delimited format in e.g. this order:
    att_val1,att_val3,att_val6,att_val4,att_val5,att_val6
    So e.g. for entry with ID "9812" from the query below, the output I need would be:
    187,179,156,134,1436,1809
    What I've got so far is as follows:
    SQL> SELECT id,attname,attval FROM table_2 WHERE id in (SELECT id from table_1 WHERE data2='xxx')
    AND attname in ('att_name1','att_name3','att_name6','att_name4','att_name5','att_name6');
    ID               ATTNAME               ATTVAL
    ===============================
    1970 att_name1 123
    1970 att_name2 abc
    1970 att_name3 1234
    1970 att_name4 def
    1970 att_name5 1134
    1970 att_name6 ghj
    9812 att_name4 134
    9812 att_name5 1436
    9812 att_name3 156
    9812 att_name1 187

    77 att_name4 1345
    77 att_name2 1345
    77 att_name6 1345
    but I don't know how to format the output comma limited in certain order. (or if this is the best way of getting the data out)
    Would someone have idea how this could be done?

    I got much further now :).
    I've got Oracle 10g So I used the "SYS_CONNECT_BY_PATH" for my query.
    Now I get the output in the format I want, however, it comes out in the order that the attributes are (which is pretty random).The values you posted are in order: 'attval1' < 'attval2' < ...
    So I'm using this now(had to use "|" as separator because SYS_CONNECT_BY_PATH would not work with comma due to some of the attval having comma in them ):The values you posted don't contain and commas.
    You're hiding what the problem is. It would really help if you posted actual data. It always helps if you post CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements for a little sample data, and the results you want from that data.
    Assuming you really have something that has to be in a certain order, and that order is not based on anything in the values themselves, then DECODE might be a good way to do it. Storing the sort value in a table might be even better.
    It looks like you were using an Oracle 9 exanple. In Oracle 10, using SYS_CONNECT_BY_PATH is simpler:
    SELECT     id
    ,     LTRIM ( SYS_CONNECT_BY_PATH (attval, '|')
               , '|'
               )          AS attvals
    FROM     (
              SELECT     id
              ,     attval
              ,     ROW_NUMBER () OVER ( PARTITION BY  id
                                  ORDER BY          DECODE (...)
                                )     AS curr
              WHERE     id     IN (
                             SELECT  id
                             FROM     table_1
                             WHERE     data2     = 'xxx'
              AND     attname     IN ('attname1','attname2','attname3','attname4','attname5','attname6')
    WHERE     CONNECT_BY_ISLEAF     = 1
    START WITH     curr     = 1
    CONNECT BY     curr     = PRIOR curr + 1
         AND     id     = PRIOR id
    ;You don't need two almost-identical ROW_NUMBERs; one will do just fine.

  • Need Help with Format/Partition.. using cmd

    Okay guys.. Im kinda sick of trying to get my Recovery to work. Seems like its about to finish and everything is perfect.. then suddenly I get an error message saying that Recovery didnt work, or something like that..
    I figured I might as well try starting with a fresh hard drive, then trying the recovery again..
    So someone told me that if I have the HP Recovery disks, then I would be able to try them, even on a brand new hard drive, or a formatted one or whatever..
    Is this true?
    If so, then what I am asking you guys, is, if there is anybody that would be able to help guide me thru the steps needed, in order for me to Format my hard drive, & then partition it or whatever…
    & I wanna be able to do all this, using cmd (command prompt)
    So Please.. anyone.. your help would be greatly appreciated..
    I have an HP Pavilion dv6653cl
    Thanks!!

    Hi,
    There's no need to pre-format a new Hard Drive - if you perform a 'Factory Reset' using your Recovery Discs, these will perform a quick format and also re-create all the original partitions on the new drive as part of the process.
    A complete guide to using Recovery Discs can be found on the relevant link below.

  • Please help with formatting a document

    Here's what I am trying to do:
    Create a quiz. The top of the quiz has a set of instructions. Just below the instructions, is question number 1. The number "1." lines up on the left with the left margin of the instructional paragraph. The question text should then have a left margin that is indented 0.5inch and the text will continue to be indented the same 0.5 inch (a hanging indent).
    Also, the text of the question will be single space, but the space between the questions will be double space.
    When I try this with a single space setting, I get the numbered list -- which is fine -- but when I hit the return key again in order to get double spacing between the questions, I lose the number.
    Thanks and if you need any clarification, feel free to ask.

    Yvan,
    I appreciate your input, but beg to differ. I have downloaded the user manual in PDF and have been using it to trouble shoot this issue. I find that in this particular instance, it has not been as helpful as I would like.
    I prefer to use the manual as a reference, and while reading it from start to finish is probably a good way to gain an in depth understanding of the program, that act can also lead to information overload, and, hence, an inability to recall exactly what it was that would help solve a particular issue.
    I find that in technical manuals, different perspectives in presentation and organization will resonate better with one reader and less so with another. It seems to me that a collection of these perspectives is often more helpful than a single resource.

  • Help with formatting function

    Hi
    I'm new to constructing functions in Numbers so I don't know if this
    can actually be done.
    Basically, I'm trying to change the cell colour IF the string LEN is > 10
    So for I've got:
    =IF(LEN(Ad2 General>10),Ad2 General)
    But not to sure exactly how to pull this off.
    I've looked around the web, but can't find anything.
    Thanks

    For this kind of need, I use a tip described here many times.
    I build an auxiliary table with the formula :
    =IF(LEN(Tableau 1 :: B2)>8,1,0)
    where Tableau 1 is the name of the main table.
    I apply to this table the conditional format :
    if cell contents equal 0 set text and background to white
    if cell contents equal 1 set text and background to red
    Then, I move the table behind the main one defined as transparent.
    The result is :

  • Help with formatting parameters in html output?

    Hi --
    I would like to use a style sheet to adjust the way that javadoc displays lists of parameters below each method. In the HTML output, the code around the parameter name and description looks like this:
    <dd><code>filterContainers</code> - True if the containers within the database
    are to be considered individually during task assignment; false if the entire database is to be assigned as a single task.
    </dd>
    I apologize if this is basic CSS question, but I don't understand how to change the way 'filterContainers' is formatted -- maybe make it italic or something. I was also hoping to increase the padding below each parameter name/description because they seem to squished together.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Jen

    Add this to stylesheet.css to make "filterContainers" italic:
    dl dd dl dd code {
    font-style: italic;
    }This adds space below lines inside dd
    dl dd dl dd {
    padding-bottom: 3px;
    }(You could change it to padding-top to add the space above instead.)
    The sequence "dl dd dl dd code" is the nested hierarchy of HTML tags relative to body.
    Here are the CSS elements defined above: (CSS 2.0)
