Help with JNI using C in Visual Studio

Hi,
I need help in passing arguments such as "-Djava.class.path=xxxxxxx" in Visual C++ 2005 Express Edition. I have created the .dll and an .exe which uses that DLL to call Java using c and jni. If I hard code the classpath, then it seems to work, at least partially, but I need to send to arguments through the command line. I tired it in the properties of the file but it doesn't work. Any suggestion?

What is the executable you are trying to debug? A DLL that is called from java?
So your VC project is a DLL? (It's really hard to tell from your posts).
If so, then suppose you have this folder structure:
{dll_project_folder}
{dll_project_folder}\debug\mylib.dll
{java_project_folder}
{java_project_folder}\MyJavaClass.class
Then your VC project settings should be:
Command : {java_root_folder}\bin\java.exe
Command Arguments : -classpath {java_project_folder} MyJavaClass
Working Directory : {dll_project_folder}\debug

Version of jvm.dll compatible with 64-bit development on Visual Studio 2013?

Hi. I am building a 64-bit C++ application under Visual Studio 2013. I am using jvm.dll to call Java methods from within the application. The issue is that the version of jvm.dll that is distributed with Java 7 and Java 8 are compiled with Visual Studio 2010 (and thus rely on the msvcr100.dll runtime library). This makes it very dangerous to use with a Visual Studio 2013 application which uses msvcr120.dll (mixing runtime libraries is a very big no-no). I am seeing random memory errors as a result, at the JNI interface level.
Is there any way to get a version of jvm.dll that is compiled with Visual Studio 2013 and is thus dependent on msvcr120.dll?

Hello,
As per your description, remote deployment is not possible for server side code in sharepoint so if you are using server object model then you won't be able to debug or deploy your solution from visual studio.
VS is not required to installed on UAT/prod server but you need sharepoint along with visual studio in same development machine to develop any custom webpart.
Once you deploy your custom webpart on site then you will be able to see that webpart in webpart gallery and that gallery is also available in designer so it means you can also add your custom webpart from designer to any page.

Oracle 11 g connection with asp dot net in visual studio 2008

My application is using oracle 11 g as database in an asp dot net project . this was basically a project in asp dot net with sql server as a database . but now this need oracle 11 g as database . I have complete the db work, but i m getting the connection problem in visual studio (2008) with oracle 11 g .
I know for this it need a driver oracle.data.access ,, i do nt know which version it need ?
I have this dll . but version of it may be earlier. thats why it is not working properly
i have 11 g installed on the server computer , and we can only use it only on browser , I have a global.asax as a file in my dot net project in which connection string is written but i m getting error , something like ora10cc .

The file at the top of that link should work fine with Oracle 11g.
I would start trying to get the client to work outside of Visual Studio, first. That way you can localize your issues.
Once you get the Oracle client connected to the Oracle server, then uou can start working on Visual Studio.
As for where to install it, I'd say start with your computer. I'm not sure how you do your development, but that would probably be a good place to start.
You may want a different download for the web server as I assume you wouldn't need the special Visual Studio tools on it. But yes, it will need whichever Oracle provider you choose installed on it as well.

'{' Key not working with Apple Keyboard in Windows & Visual Studio

I've been bugged by this forever now and tried it with Windows XP, Vista and 7 now on my macPro & (the latest version of) Bootcamp: I can type the { and } brackets just fine in most windows apps (e.g. start > run etc), but in visual studio, for some reason the 'ctrl + alt + 7' (for the '{') does result in the whole line being commented with // instead of the expected opening '{'. 'ctrl + alt + 0' ('}') does however work just fine.
Now I am really not sure why this is happening, but it's the same for VS2008 and the VS2010 beta and developing in C# without a proper '{' combo is somewhat.. difficult
Has anyone ever come across the same behavior and knows what to do?

i decided to followed SharePoint-hosted because is the only type that applies to SharePoint 2013 Foundation.
I followed the steps of http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/fp142379(v=office.15).aspx, which is the quide for How to:Create a basic SharePoint-hosted app. In Step 10 for deploy my app i get the following error:
Error occurred in deployment step 'Install app for SharePoint': Failed to install app for SharePoint. Please see the output window for details.
What is the problem?
Also, the visual studio need to be installed on the server where sharepoint was installed?
Moreover, do I need app catalog for testing and deploy apps?

Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you have an issue about creating app.
Per my knowledge, the issue is caused that you don’t configure the app catalog URLs from the central administration.
It means that we should create an App site catalog site collection to hold our Apps.

What can i use instead of Visual Studio?

I'm a new user. i need to use Microsoft Visual Studio for my project. As i understand there is no MVS for mac.
But is there any thing else, that is capacitable as MVS for mac.

Install Windows 7 into a virtual machine such as VirtualBox, Parallels Desktop 8, or latest VMware. Once Windows is installed and updated, install Microsoft Visual Studio, updates and dependencies. Now, you have a 100% Visual Studio and development language support.
Now you can boot into Windows concurrently with Mountain Lion running, share/print files between them, and when you are done with Windows, shutdown it down and close the virtual machine. Return to the normalcy of OS X.

Would I have tighter control with TFS as opposed to Visual Studio Online?

We have developers from all over the world and I want to make sure that our code which is our company's intellectual property is as secure as possible. We're currently using Visual Studio Online but a potentially disgruntled developer can log into VSO and
download our code into his/her local computer. I really want to prevent this scenario.
Would I have tighter control and security by implementing our own TFS server in a VM on Azure?

Here's further clarification of my scenario:
First, we're entirely on Azure -- no on-premises network. We have a virtual network on Azure along with our ADs, VMs, etc. Our developers, both internal and external, use RemoteApp to write to their code so everything stays in the "cloud".
The problem with Visual Studio Online (VSO) is that a disgruntled developer could use his/her login credentials to log into VSO and download the code into their local machine.
Our objective is to keep everything that belongs to the company within our "virtual network" on Azure and NOWHERE ELSE.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think a traditional TFS approach -- running on a VM within our virtual network -- may give me tighter security due to the fact that there's no public "end point" where a developer can connect. Therefore we should be
able to restrict code access to devices i.e. RemoteApp within our virtual network ONLY.
Is that a fair assumption or not?
P.S. I really don't want to manage yet another VM and we LOVE using services but I feel a service based approach such as VSO may not necessarily satisfy our security needs.

Unspecified error using odt in Visual Studio 2003

Hello all
We have Windows XP SP2.
We have installed ODT version 10.1.0.4.00 on our workstation. We have MS Visual Studio 2003. We have the Oracle client 10.1.0.2.0.
We also have Oracle data access product 10.1.0.4.0.
When I try to access Tools - connect to oracle database, I get the error : "unspecified error". I get the same error back if I try to exit Visual studio. I have to kill the process to exit. I have the same thing using View - Oracle Explorer.
What could be wrong ?

Typically that error is referring to a COM dll that is not being loaded because it is not registered on the system. Usually, that error message will give you a dll name, or a PROGID, or something.....was anything else provided in the error?
In order for a file to be unregistered, something might have been uninstalled (or a failed install) that could have caused this issue. I did a search in kbase and found a article that may help, at least it refers to a dll that you can try to register.
Perhaps doing a reinstall may resolve the error.

I am trying to insert a string as a CLOB into Oracle via C# using Visual Studio (VS) 2005.
What I am using:
The Oracle Tools for VS 2005 are installed and work fabulously with other types of data.
Research I have done on my own:
1. I have read the thread "ORA-01461"
2. Have modified an example (see below) from the Oracle web site
..... as noted in the comments below (Jason Price).
3. Addtionally, there are a number of www references.
4. However, after a long unproductive day none are working for me.

I dont think this has anyting to do with CLOB, but rather the use of a reserved word for a column name.
How did you get the table created with a field named "COMMENT"? That's a reserved word so you shouldnt use it, even if you can someone force the database to accept it by using quotes for example...

I assume the error might be stemming from that, as I see no reason for the code to error.

Help with Sum using FormCalc in Livecycle

Hello. I'm stuck. I've been doing searches, readings, and all that on how to sum up certain cells in Livecycle. I have tried examples and tutorials and I get stuck when the application says "Error: Accessor ' ' Unknown".
I'm such a novice in using Livecycle and I'm not a programmer. So, if someone can help me on why it does this, that would be awesome!

Here you go. I rename it. Couple of things. Too many subforms (unless you intend to do something else with this). Also, make sure you save your forms as "dynamic" if you intend to have user enter info. I couldn't tell if you were importing/exporting to a spreadsheet. Note the formcalc. Your fields need to be named the same. In my example they are: ExpCosts.

Need help with session using dreamweaver

have created a login page (php/mysql) with username and
password boxes. when the form is submitted the mainpage loads up.
i want the main page to be specific to that user, so i want
their name to appear in the first line. eg.. Welcome back 'David'
I read a tutorial in the past that tought me to send the
users id in the URL and then create a record set on the mainpage
that was filtered by the URL parameter.
I have forgotten how to do this and the tutorial is no longer
available on Adobe's site.
I tried that with
$_SESSION['MM_Username'] = $loginUsername; \\ in first page
then
echo $_SESSION["MM_username"]; \\in second page, but the
problem is that is not showing user name.
i need help with that please!

has been started.
