Help with Mailing accounts!

Hello, is there is a way to add more than one email account to your mail app like you can on an iPhone?

Of course! You can add as many as you want. In Mail, go to the Mail menu, then Preferences, then Accounts, and use the + button at the bottom left to set up new accounts.

    Is there a way to merge Mail account A on my desktop with Mail account A from separate hard disks? I lost all my old messages (thousands of them) in July, but most of them are safe elsewhere. I'd really like to put them all in one place, though!
    The desktop (iMac) now has messages from July 2012 onward.
    My separate hard disk backup has old messages up to June 2012.
    Most of the ones between June and July are on a MacBook Pro which I bought about that time.
    Is there a relatively easy and safe way to put these messages back together in Mail account A on my desktop again?

    Well, your profile info says 10.4.11, and you are posting your question in the iMac (PPC) category.  If you are running Snow Leopard, it must be a fairly recent Intel iMac.

    I guess I spoke too soon!  I really can't believe this nightmare is not over yet! My account is still wrong.  The credit that I was due totaled $63.00  I am looking at a message on my phone saying that $21.01 was credited which makes my balance $219.72.  I received a text the following day that says, I processed your credit of $30.00 and your new balance $216.73 how is that possible?  None of the late fees were credited and the amount due for my monthly charges are wrong.  Before any changes were made to my data plan back in Nov. My monthly charges were $140.00, I needed my hot spot back and i was told that the hot spot will increase my bill $10 for each phone that totals $20.  The customer rep that change my data plan at that time also gave me a credit of $20 to compensate for the increase until I had time to talk with customer service about the mix-up with my Hot spot. I originally had the hot spot, but the rep that change my plan almost a year prior told me nothing was changing except I was getting more for less money.  I explained to that rep that I need my hot spot 4 times a year...and I don't want my plan to have any changes. To verify what I'm telling u check my account and see that I called from Albany New York wanting to know where my hot spot was and I was told I didn't have the hot spot on my account since the last data change!  I lost money once again due to the verizon rep's.  so my current data plan the rep promised would increase $20 which makes my monthly charges that were $140 prior to the change $160 after the hot spot was returned to my account.  Then I was given a $12 credit per month for 12 months because of so many mistakes made to my account so with that $12 credit my monthly charges should $148 + surcharges + taxes and that's not what I see. I do know this much right now my account is in such a shambles I can hardly see the light at the end if there is an end!  I need real help!

  • I desperately need help with Mail, specifically sending

    For Starters:  I am on OSX 10.9.2 and am trying to use mail 7.2.

    I cannot send.  I have been at this for hours and hours and hours.  Here are the details.
    my mail server however is s1.sistercompany.net
    I can receive email just fine.  I can also send mail just find having set this up on my iphone and also in thunderbird (which i hate hate hate hate hate hate hate, which is why I am desperate to set up mail)
    The settings in thunderbird are as follows:
    Servername: s1.sistercompany.net
    port: 465
    Authentication method:  normal password
    Connection Security:  SSL/TLS
    However, I just can't get this to work in Mail.  When I write an email and hit send I get a popup that says:
    Cannot send message using the server s1.sistercompany.net
    The certifcate for this server is invalid.
    Now, my tech guy says yeah the certifacte is invalid because you are going through sistercompany server, there should be some way to just accept the certifcate anyway (but he has never used mail before).
    So I have serached around and come up with this: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11706
    Which tells me to use the verify certificate dialogue, which I would do except there is no verify certificate dialog.  Any thoughts?

    I don't have a problem watching the Lost episode on abc.com, using a stock MacBook with 512MB RAM. I don't know what technology abc.com uses in their viewer, but I have Flip4Mac and the latest version of Flash player installed.

  • Need help with Mail - Hotmail .. actual hotmail account won't delete

    Hello, first post! I just purchased a mac last week. First one ever so i'm learning to use the programs and having some fun. I opened up the mail application and synced with my gmail account just fine. I then added a 2nd account which was my hotmail account. I'm not happy with how the hotmail account syncs with mac mail application. The problem arises when i try to delete the Hotmail account i added. I right clicked and selected "delete account" and it deleted all my email but the Hotmail inbox icon will not delete and i am still getting new emails into the inbox. I'm not sure if i explained this correctly so feel free to ask for clarification. Does anyone know how i can get rid of my hotmail account from my macbook mail application for good?

    Hi:
    Need your help with something I don´t understand: we try to set up a new hotmail account in Mail (we have used both Preference Panel and directly in Mail) but it never recieves the Inbox. I can send but don´t see anything in Inbox.
    I looked into User/Library/Mail/V2/accountname/INBOX.mbox/ and the folder with the xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx name structure is never created.
    I tried to set up another hotmail account and it works ok, only this specific account fails.
    I Used a Permissions repair, didn't worked. Erased all data in V2, again not worked. Tried to "cheat" Mail setting up another hotmail account and then changing info to the specific account failing, not luck. Also reset sync services (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627?viewlocale=es_ES), still not work. Rebuild inside Mail also didn´t worked. Any idea to get this account working?
    BTW, sorry for my bad english...

    Quit Mail. Force quit if necessary.
    Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
    Triple-click the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Envelope Index
    Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
    from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return.
    A Finder window will open with a file selected. Move the selected file to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Other files in the folder may have names that begin with "Envelope Index". Move those files, if any, to the Trash.
    Log out and log back in. Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is damaged and that Mail has to quit. Click OK.
    Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the file you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, post your results.

  • Help with broadband account

    OK we have two phone lines, one has broadband on option1 with a non wireless router. (this is at my parents home and I pay the bills)
    OK I access most of my email and pretty much do most if not all of my internet surfing from my partners home using her wireless broadband, (as I now spend most of my time there with her) this has been going on for a few years now and I'm seriously beginning to think this is a daft situation, I'm paying for a broadband service I'm not using (with exception access to my email) I've kept it going purely to keep my email address.
    I read recently that I could retain my email address if I subscribe to BT Yahoo premium mail @ £1.54 per month, so if I were able to cancel my broadband (saving a fortune) could I still retain my current email and carry on accessing this as I do now from my partners?
    If I can do the above, how do I go about doing it? do I need to sign up for the premium mail before I cancel my account? or can I do it after?

    Hi Steady Eddy,
    Welcome to the forum.
    Once you cancel your broadband account you will have 90 days in which to sign up to Premium Mail.  After the 90 days your email address will go on a list for deletion.  To sign up to Premium mail please do so via this link BT Yahoo! Premium Mail 
    Once you sign up you will be able to retain your BT Internet email address and continue to use this in the way you have been.  If you have any sub accounts associated with your primary email address then this will be included in the monthly rental of Premium mail.

    Hey y'all,
    I'm having some issues with Mail. I don't have a mac.com account and I'm trying to setup mail to work with both my hotmail and outlook accounts. I setup the hotmail account but it won't let me send e-mail and I don't think I'm receiving it either. When I do the connection doctor it says it connects okay (green light) but it won't send anyway. Help? Would it just be better to get a mac.com account?

    As I understand it, the free Hotmail account is purely webmail and isn't accessible from a mail client. You would need to subscribe to Hotmail Plus. You may also need the 'httpmail' plugin:

  • Gmail with 2 Macs with Mail accounts

    I have 2 macs and so have the same mail accounts on both.
    With my @mac mail and my other provider's mail, I have no problem.
    However, with gmail only one computer receives mails - whichever computer gets mail first. The email will stay on the gmail board but will not then go to the other mac (although it will go to the iPhone).
    I am configured to POP, although to IMAP it was the same.
    I have looked all over for buttons to press and found nothing.
    Does anyone have some ideas that I can do?

    Hi,
    I think you need to be using IMAP for everything to stay in sync. The @mac.com mail uses IMAP.
    Make sure you've changed the settings for your gmail account at www.gmail.com to use IMAP and then change both computers to make sure each account is configured to retrieve the email via IMAP.

  • Need help with Exchange account

    Hi,
    We use Exchange 2007 at work. When I tried to set up my iPhone with it, it worked perfectly, including syncing my work e-mail account, syncing my work calendar and allowing me to look up entries in my work address book.
    When I tried to set it up on my GUEST account on my Mac (completely clean account), it again worked perfectly.
    However, on my main account on the Mac, I'm able to get the e-mail sync. functionality to work and the addressbook functionality to work but for some reason, I just can't get iCal to sync or show my work calendar.
    iCal shows the name of the account in the list of calendars on the left-side pane, but shows an "error" icon (squiggly icon) on the right of the account. No matter what I do, I can't get it to sync with my work calendar.
    Can someone help me please?

  • Help with Mail setup please??

    Okay, sorry but i need some basic help. I'm brand new to Mac. I've always just used a standard free yahoo mail account. When I go through the Mail set up, i think it's telling me i need the Plus (fee based) version of yahoo mail to do the POP thing. Is there a way to use Mail with a free email account?

    Mail doesn't care, itself. All Mail cares about is whether you have the numbers to plug into the setup. The free or paid thing all depends on the mail provider. Yahoo doesn't care what PC or Mac program you are using to access it. They simply block the POP access by default, and release it when they have your money.
    If you use Mail with a mail provider that has free mail client access, all you have to do is plug in the server info and you'll have direct access. GMail is one of these.

    I can't send any mail from my apple mail account, whether it be one that I want to write or send from a web page. I tried gmail and that didn't work, so now I have a 60 day trial of mobileme and that's not working either. One thing I have noticed when creating an account is on the page where I type in my e-mail address and password is the only option I have is to create. There is no option to continue or uncheck "automatically set up account", just create. I honestly don't have a clue what I am doing. If it makes a difference I have an intellos broad band card for my internet service. I have a macbook pro that is only a month old. My mobileme account works just not from apple mail. I did send myself an e-mail from another account and got it. Please help me!!!!!!!!
