Help with making a CD

How do I copy my photos to a CD?  I am a user of Photoshop Elements 11.

You need to use third party software (there are many free ones online)  or Windows CD burner.  PSE11 isn't designed for such things.
Good luck.

    Sorry for posting my issue twice, I thought, I posted it in a wrong forum:)It's OK. We'll ask the mods to delete the other thread.
    I want the label to appear for X seconds when then button is pressed and disappear after that.Then a Swing Timer is what you want to use.
    I need to do this in a number of cases from a switch statement because I several buttons.Better to have several ActionListeners, one for each button or each type of button, rather than one ActionListener with a large switch statement, a so-called switch-board listener. They're messy to debug and upgrade.
    I tried to use Swing Timer, but I cannot set it properly.Go through the Sun Swing tutorial on Swing Timers. It's all outlined for you there: [http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/misc/timer.html]

  • Help with making part of a picture transparent

    I am very new to Indesign, and I am trying to teach myself how to use it. I was using Microsoft Publisher for my last project, in which I was able to use a transparency tool to click on part of a .gif image to make it transparent, whilst leaving the rest of the image intact.
    I am trying to place an image on top of a background image using Indesign. My image is a picture of a sun, surrounded with a white box. When I place the sun on top of the background colour, I still get the white box around the sun, and I can't find any way of eliminating the white box, whilst retaining the yellow sun image. I hope this makes sense!
    Can anyone help with his? I will need to do this quite a few times during the course of my project so any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Many thanks. Bev

    Eugene,
    Is it fair to make the sweeping statement that "GIF is not a print format"?
    I don't know how “fair” the statement is, but it’s balls accurate. GIFs are RGB, limited to 256 colours only, and have only one bit of transparency. The format is absolutely inappropriate for print.
    I can think of a few situations in which GIFs are useful for print as well as the web. For example, GIFs allow nonprofessionals to use logos with solid blocks of color, simple transparency, without color management concerns, and so on, both on the web and in almost all print applications that nonprofessionals use.
    Automatic transmissions and power steering make it possible for a recent driver’s license recipient to take the family station wagon around Laguna Seca. That doesn’t make him Emerson Fitipaldi or make the car a Formula-1 racer.
    Isn't it a cheap-and-cheerful, universal, perfectly OK format for print?
    No.
    It has limitations that are obvious to professionals, but it isn't always a mistake to use it in print.
    It sure is. Print does not mean “printed to my $60 inkjet.” Print means “printed on a digital colour printer or on a press.” In that context, GIF’s only use is as a source for later conversion to a superior format. Even if printing to a POS inket, conversion to PSD, TIF, Illustrator, PDF, or even PNG would put the image into a superior format that is more suitable for print.
    GIF is not suitable for print. Period.

  • Could I have some help with making these two files merge?

    Copyright - Trademarking - Prohibiting further use of these files (Unless you are helping me) - Etc..
    Hello, I'm back with another problem and if you read the last post you would have realized that I shortened the code. My goal is to replace my spacer and header with a single header that I based my design around. I just can not get this too work with the rest of the document I have had too many attempts. I will post my header files in 'RED' to begin with and the files I need to combine in 'BLUE'

    Thanks for the help in advance.

    You're not getting any help because your HTML & CSS code is pretty messy.  It's like asking an interior designer to make over a very untidy bedroom.  It's not going to happen until you clean things up.
    I would start with just the basic HTML code like this.  Avoid those redundant style10, style19, style108 tags.    You really don't need them.  HTML selectors provide you with all the hooks you need for most things.  Also, you should run a spell check.  I saw errors but I didn't fix them.

  • Help with making an Email Submit button on a form!

    Im making a form using livecycle for the first time.
    Im trying to put on it a email submit button - i used email submit field and made the button. Then in the Objects Palette, in the box that says email address i put in the email address that i want it to be sent to. I then tried to email the form, and i received an email, but the attachment was just a bunch of codes, not the form. I want the email to come through with the PDF form.
    I searched on help and this is what i found:

    Submit the package to an email address
    mailto
    mailto:[email protected]
    5.
    Select PDF from the Submit As list.
    I cant find where to change these options - can someone help?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    The issue is that if the form is not Reader Enabled, then users with Reader cannot submit the form as a PDF.
    They can submit it as an XML file and then you would re-import this back into the form on receipt. It is an extra step, but it does have the advantage that the data being submitted as an XML file is very small.
    If you really need/want the form to be submitted as a PDF AND your users have Reader, then the form will have to be Reader Enabled.
    There are two options:
    Reader Enable using Acrobat Standard (version 9) or Acrobat Professional (version 8). This will give certain rights, like the ability for users with Reader to save the form and for the form to be submitted as a PDF. However there are licensing restrictions, see EULA.
    The other option is to Reader Enable the form using LiveCycle Reader Extensions ES2. This is a server product, which entails additional cost and a cost to Reader Enable each form. It is intended for processing large volumes of forms/large volumes of data.
    There is a summary here:
    http://assure.ly/gYyYc2
    So there are a couple of options.
    Form NOT Reader Enabled:
    Users cannot save the data they input.
    Data must be submitted as an XML file and processed on receipt.
    Form IS Reader Enabled:
    Users can save the data they input.
    Data can be submitted as a PDF (or XML file).
    Hope that helps,
    Niall

  • Need help with making a Watermark

    I am using Photoshop Elements 8 to make a watermark.  All goes well until I get to the (Go to edit>select "Define Brushes")  Define Brushes is not highlighted and will not let me select it.  Helpful solutions would be most welcome.  I have tried a number of things including uninstallingthe program, restarting, installing.  I'm out of ideas.

    You need to have an open image. So you must first create your watermark. Here are instructions for making a text watermark with bevel.
    Create a template using the editor:
    File >> New >> Blank File
    Set your dimensions and resolution of 72 and choose transparent for your background color.
    Select the type tool and add your name or watermark information.
    Choose the effects pallet and under styles find the bevels. Drag the one you cant on top of the text. The go to File >> Save For Web
    Select file type PNG24 (that will preserve the transparency) and then save your file.
    You can now use this file to make your brush.
    Go to Edit >> Define Brush
    After you have saved your new brush pre-set select the brush tool and scroll down to the bottom of the brush list. You can apply to photos with one click.

  • Help with making a call?...

    Hello! So I am not really tech savvy and when I got this phone I learned to press the phone button when making a phone call rather than the Skype call. Now whenever I try and make a phone call, the phone automatically opens up Skype and tries to start a video chat. Does anyone know how to turn this off? I have tried to mess with the settings to figure it out, but every time I log out of Skype it just logs me back in. I am just not sure why I can't make a simple phone call...? Help?! Thanks!

        Oh no Katie913! A phone isn't very useful if you can't place a simple call. I did this myself once too. When you install Skype, you always see a prompt to pick between placing a normal call or Skype call. There's also a little box underneath to remember your selection. Silly me, I selected Skype and hit the little box to remember that. Good news is there's a really easy way to undo Skype as the default application. Home screen>Menu>Manage apps>All>find the Skype app>Clear data
    You'll need to log into your Skype again the next time you open the app, but VOILA! The option to pick between Skype and a regular call should be back. Just select the box to remember your selection and the Phone app and you'll be all set.
    And since you mentioned you're not too tech savvy, did you know we offer free Wireless Workshops online and at our stores to help make you a Droid genius? Here's more info: http://bit.ly/oc2kd5

    Try this:
    1) Open the Sharing panel of System Preferences.
    2) If the lock at the bottom is "closed", click on it and enter your administrative password.
    3) Check the box for "File Sharing.
    4) Click on the plus sign below "Shared Folders".
    5) Select your external drive and click the "Add" button.
    6) Under "Users" set the permissions to what you want.
    These instructions are based on OS X 10.6, but 10.5 should be similar.

  • Help with making start up disk from .dmg image on hard drive

    HI Guys hope you can help i have a .DMG image of my OSX install files and need to know how i burn this onto a dvd so i can use it as a start up disk or do a reinstall.
    Never had to even think about any of this before so an idiots guide would be most useful burned the .dmg image to a disk but it wont work as a start up disk and if i open it once inserted it wont work using the start up disk application within system preferences
    Any help appreciated

    An image of your hard drive? No. A copy of Tiger DVD?
    It could be done under Panther with a program called BootCD, but not Tiger.
    Why? when you can easily clone your system to a FW drive partition and use that as needed. Or use TechTool Pro 4.5.1 to put an "eDrive" on your boot drive or another drive (~7GB) just for emergencies.
    You can use Disk Utility to Restore your boot drive to a disk image and back if you want to store it on another drive and in the event of disaster striking and you need to erase and restore.

  • Help with making circle shape photo....

    Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me
    out please.
    I am using Photoshop CS Version 8.   I have a photo which I would like to print out but in a circle shape.  I'm a bit of a novice at Photoshop and can only really re-size, crop and alter tints/hues and thats about it.  After struggling with this I found this tutorial in Youtube but go so far and am stuck.
    http://http://www.youtube.com/user/ijaza83#p/a/u/2/nmz40OH7LK4
    The photo is 4 x 5.3in but I want the circle to be 4 x 4 in.  That is what I sized it when I did File, New.  I can draw the circle but its not a steady line, its like dotted and when I click the background or anywhere in the image, the circle disappears.  Also by fluke, another time I got as far as placing the photo and dragging it to fit but could not get the photo inside the circle.  I'm not good at layers and mine seem to say set 1, not stage 1.   I don't find it as easy as it is in the video.  Can anyone enlighted me please?
    Message was edited by: Tichbourn

    I use CS3, so I can tell you how I'd do it, but I can't be sure it's applicable to your version:
    Open the photograph.
    Create a new layer on top of it.
    Double click on the background layer to unlock it.  It now becomes Layer 0.  Move Layer 1 under Layer 0.
    Go to the Eliptical Tool and set the Fixed Ratio 1 to 1.
    Circle the picture - move the dotted circle to frame the area you want.  Then Select -> Inverse; Then Edit -> Cut.
    Merge Down, and save as a JPEG.   Then you can print the image.

  • I need help with making multiple measurements

    Hello,
       I have photoshop cs6 extended addition and was told photoshop would work for the research application I need but so far I am finding it very difficult to do what I want.  Basically, I need to be able to meausre multiple lines (the red ones in the screen shot) of an image precisely, and make sure that the lines I measure are documented so that they are actually visiable (so not just with the ruler tool) on the screen and labeled.  Does anyone have any idea how to approach this problem?  See image for example.  I need the lengths (converted with the 2 micrometer scale at the bottom of the image).  When I use the info, it gives me the lengths, but I can't save them, or look them up at a different time.  Also, when using the line tool, then doing the "record measurement" it does not give me the length of the line but insted acts like it is a thin rectangle and gives me a height (which does not seem to be the same as if I used the measurement tool and put it next to the line, which is an idea I have, but not as accurate) and a width.  Ideas?

    Curt,
       I tried what you said but am still confused.  First, while I will be viewing a few pictures, I am just concerned with getting the process to work with ONE picture measuring all the lines I need for it before worrying about other pictures.  I don't understand what you mean when you say making a scale for each picture of any size.  Its not about plotting a scale on the picture (I already have that in the form of the 2 micron line) its a matter of drawing new lines on top of the picture and calculating the lengths of those lines (like the red lines I put in the original screen shot).  Do you understand?
    After I make the box around the 2 micron scale in the image, then press copy then press paste, nothing seems to happen.  So when I Click NEW and it opens a new window (for a completely new workspace) nothing different happens.  You meant to click "New" after first going to the top and selecting "file" right?
    Since I am having trouble with that step, im not sure I can do the rest.
    For step 2, What do you mean by "In background content click the dropdown box and select Transparent."   ALl I see is a layer called background on the right.  I can right click on it and set the opacity to 0, but I don't see the term 'transparent' to actually select.
    Like for step three, how could I delete the selection I made by dragging to the trash?  Once I press on it, it resets.....
    Ok not sure whatelse I can ask since I couldn't really do the first step anyways....

  • Help with making a program

    Well my teacher gave my class an assignment to make a program. I am REALLY at a loss as to how to make the program, all he said was it was a class and a tester. If you guys could help me out that would be awesome. My class uses bluej.
    Here are the instructions he gave us:
    Review: "bubble sort"
    Given a list of items stored in an array, a Bubble sort causes a pass through the array to compare adjacent pairs of items. Whenever two items are out of order with respect to each other, they are swapped. The effect of such a pass through an array of items is traced in the following table. Notice that after such a pass, we are assured that the array will have the items that comes last in order in the final array position.
    unsorted     After 1st pass     After 2nd pass     After 3rd pass     After 4th pass
    5     4*     4     4     4
    4     5*     2*     2     2
    2     2     5*     1*     1
    1     1     1     5*     3*
    3     3     3     3     5*
    Here is the pseudo code, you write the code in BlueJ.
    Write a method --> public static void bubbleSort ( int [ ] a){
    Initialize counter K to zero
    Initialize boolean exchangeMade to true
    While(k<n-1) and exchangeMade
    set exchangeMade to false
    Increment the counter k
    for each j from 0 to n-k
    if item in jth position is > item in (j+1)sth position
    swap these items --> swap(a ,j , j+1);
    set exchangeMade to true.
    Hint for the swap:
    if you want a method that does the job;
    public static void swap(int [ ]a , int x, int y)
    int temp = a[ ];
    a[x] = a[y];
    a[y] = temp;
    }

    You may be wondering why your experiencing a bit of resistance here. Since it's your first post I'll give you the courtesy of an explanation. When folks (usually students) post code requirements without posting their own code, many here assume that the student is either too lazy to even make an attempt and wants someone else to do all the work for them, or they are just too stupid to try.
    With a little effort, I'm sure that you can prove those assumptions false. Make an attempt, any attempt, and then if you come back with a posting of your code and specific questions about specific problems with your code, you will find most here very receptive to helping you,
    Good luck!
    Pete
