Help With "Package An Application" Using APEX  3.0.1 with XE

I'm using apex 3.0.1 and XE Database and I'm trying to create a package application but without succes, I can find the way to do it and I know that it's possible. What I'm trying to do is create a file like the package application that we can download from Oracle page but for an application I create.
Looking here in the forums I found this link:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/oramag/oracle/06-jul/o46browser.html
And I was trying to follow it step by step until I found the Step 4: Package Up the Application, number 7.
1. In the breadcrumb links in the upper left-hand corner of the screen, click the Application nnn link (where nnn corresponds to the ID of the employee lookup application in your Oracle Application Express instance).
2. Click the Edit Attributes icon, and then click Supporting Objects.
3. Click Edit.
4. In the Welcome section, enter readme text for the application in the Message field, such as "This application lets users browse employee information. Users accessing the application with a USERID stored in the table can upload a photo if one does not already exist."
5. Click the right arrow to go to the Prerequisites tab.
6. To ensure that folks who already have a table named OM_EMPLOYEES in their schemas don't run into a conflict with this script, enter OM_EMPLOYEES in the first Object Names field and click Add.
[b]7. Click the Scripts tab.
8. Click Create.
9. Click the Copy from SQL Script Repository icon.
10. Enter Create Table, Sequence, and Trigger in the Name field, and click Next.
11. Select om_employees.sql, and click Create Script.
12. Repeat steps 9 through 11 for the om_download_pict.sql and seed_data .sql scripts. Feel free to name these scripts as you see fit.
13. Click the Deinstall tab, and click Create.
14. Click the Create from File icon.
15. Click Browse, select the drop_om_objects.sql script (included with this column's download file), click Open, and click Create Script.
16. Click the right arrow.
17. Select Yes for Include Supporting Object Definitions in Export.
18. Click Apply Changes.
I can't find the scrips tab and I completely lost. I start to believe that this steps don't apply for Apex 3.0.1.
If anyone of you could help me with this, please do it, I really need it.
Johann.

Johann,
That doc was probably written against 2.2 because in 3.0, we reworked the supporting objects page a bit. If you are on Supporting Objects, in the Installation region, click on Installation Scripts. For more information, check the Advanced Tutorials document off our OTN site for a Tutorial called Reviewing a Packaged App (something like that - I can't access the doc at the moment).

  • Can I use APEX directly read/sync with the Oracle Tables ?

    We have a Oracle Database to manage the design data.I am trying to setup a web-based front end using APEX to manage & monitor the parts ordering & logisitics.I want to drive the master data directly from the database without any export or data transfer ? Can I directly read or Link an Oracle tables from APEX application.
    Also,once this is setup,I am looking for setting up some data entry fields to enter Purchasing & Logistics information.Hope I can achieve this using APEX !
    Look forward for the appropriate response.
    Thanks,
    Sham

    Tony,
    Thanks & Appreciate your Quick response.
    Glad that I can use the existing Oracle db schema with APEX.I am not sure if there is any information as how I can connect or link my production schema to the APEX ! I was able to import .csv files & use XL data to create some test databases & play with APEX..but,I did try to go thru most of the instructions & guides to find how to use the production oracle tables,but,could not find anything particular...Please send me a link or material info.
    I suppose I can then use which ever attribute or table data that is required to build the queries ! I am planning to use the production data to build the ordering & logistics application using APEX.Assume I can create new fields & columns for parts that will be ordered & capture/record the purchasing information like Purchase order numbers/Supplier Info/Target Delivery dates etc...
    - Am on very tight schedules to get this application up & running ! Is there any support team or a technical support team that I can call upon if I need any help ?
    Thanks,
    Sham

  • How can I take my iPhone & iPad backups from my iMac at home with me while travelling using my Macbookair (128Gb SSD) with an ext. HD?

    How can I take my iPhone & iPad backups from my iMac at home with me while travelling using my Macbookair (128Gb SSD) with an ext. HD? I want to continue to back up my devices including those of my wife while travelling without using the cloud and not returing home for several weeks.
    Any ideas or solutions?
    Thanks for your help.

    You can use any Mac with a recent copy of iTunes to back up an iPhone or iPad. It doesn't have to be the one you usually synch with, so long as you don't let it try to do a synch.
    Just take fresh backups on the MBA. As for how to get the backups onto the external drive, I'll have to leave that to others; I've never tried.

  • Communicate with the camera application using dde

    Hi,
    I´m trying to develop an application that can communicate with the camera application in my PDA (Qtek 2020).
    In order to communicate with the camera application, I want to use the DDE mechanism.
    I would like to know if it is possible to use the DDE VIs in LabVIEW 7.1 PDA Module.
    And also, if anyone has already tried to develop some similar application and knows where
    can I get information about the communication protocol, so that i can send the correct messages to the camera application.
    Thanks for any help,
    Pedro

    Is this camera application and your LabVIEW application running on the
    client PC or the PDA? If one of them is running on the PDA I'm pretty
    sure it won't work. DDE is an old legacy technology and most probably
    not supported in Windows PDA OS. And if both applications are not on
    the same device it gets even more complicated as then you really would
    need NetDDE which always was a hassle to setup and there is probably no
    chance that Windows PDA OS would support that.

  • Remove configuration custom STS with old web application using powershell ?

    HI
    i configured a custom sts with sharepoint 2010 web application using following commands,
    $cert = New-Object System.Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates.X509Certificate2("c:\signing.cer")
    $map1 = New-SPClaimTypeMapping -IncomingClaimType "http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/ws/2005/05/identity/claims/emailaddress" -IncomingClaimTypeDisplayName "EmailAddress" –SameAsIncoming
    $map2=New-SPClaimTypeMapping -IncomingClaimType "http://schemas.microsoft.com/ws/2008/06/identity/claims/role" -IncomingClaimTypeDisplayName "Role" –SameAsIncoming
    $realm=”http://claimauthweb/_trust/default.aspx”
    $ap=New-SPTrustedIdentityTokenIssuer -Name "SimplePassiveSTS" -Description "A simple Asp.Net STS on DevBox." –Realm $realm -ClaimsMappings $map1,$map2 -ImportTrustCertificate $cert -SignInUrl "https://devbox/SimpleSTS/default.aspx" -IdentifierClaim $map1.InputClaimType
    after that i create the new web application with claimauthweb and selected trusted identity provider.
    but when i create again new web application with different name and ip , after when i login to new web application using custom
    sts it redirects to sts login page and after it goes to claimauthweb application not the new web application.
    so here how i unregister with old web application and again register sts with new web applicatio?
    adil

    I believe if you want to run this you will need to remove the provider from all Web Applications in CA. Then you should be able to run Remove-SPTrustedIdentityTokenIssuer.
    If this is helpful please mark it so. Also if this solved your problem mark as answer.

  • Problems printing with older Classic applications using OS 10.4.8

    Newly installed OS 10.4.8. Unable to print from older applications using OS 9.2.2 Classic capability. Error Messages: (1) Not Apple Event Aware. (2) Desk Top Print 2.0 not installed. What is my remedy?

    Using latest driver for HP5M printer in both Classic and OSX modes. Printing is OK in all applications except Avery Label Maker and MacProLabel Maker which are very old applications. I didn't have this problem with OS10.2.8. I get the same identical error messages for each as previously stated. I had a similar printing problem with Claris Draw but no error message. I reformatted my old Claris files and now can print.

  • Need help on packaging an application

    Hi,
    Can anyone please guide me in packaging an application? On trying to create the installation scripts, I am not sure how to add the database objects to it.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Annie

    Hi Varad,
    That problem is resolved. I could not add all DDL statements in a single installation script. But things worked fine on creatin separate ones.
    But I have one more query. In addition to installing the database objects, how can I also copy the data to another instance?

  • Need help with BC4J/Struts application using a Stored Procedure

    Hi,
    I am doing a proof of concept for a new project using JDeveloper, Struts and BC4J. We want to reuse our Business logic that is currently residing in Oracle Stored Procedures. I previously created a BC4J Entity Object based on a stored procedure Using Oracle Stored Procedures but this stored procedure is a bit different in that it returns a ref cursor as one of the paramters. http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/stories/2003/03/03/gettingAViewObjectsResultRowsFromARefCursor.html
    I tried the above method, but I am having some trouble with it. I keep getting the error ORA-01008: not all variables are bound when I test it using the AppModule tester.
    Here is the store procedure definition:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE pprs_test_wrappers IS
    TYPE sn_srch_results IS REF CURSOR;
    PROCEDURE sn_srch_main_test

    ,serial_coll_cd_in IN OUT NUMBER
    ,max_rows_allowed IN OUT NUMBER
    ,total_rows_selected IN OUT NUMBER
    ,message_cd_out IN OUT VARCHAR2
    ,query_results          OUT sn_srch_results
    END pprs_test_wrappers;
    And here is my code:
    package pprs;
    import java.math.BigDecimal;
    import java.sql.CallableStatement;

    Also, could I have done this from the Entity object instead of the view object by registering the ref cursor OUT parameter in handleStoredProcInsert()?
    Thanks

    I was able to get the input parameter by putting the following in my struts actions class
    vo.setWhereClauseParam(0,request.getParameter("row0_SerialNum"));
    The full code is:
    package mypackage2;
    import javax.servlet.http.HttpServletRequest;
    import javax.servlet.http.HttpServletResponse;
    import oracle.jbo.html.BC4JContext;
    import oracle.jbo.ViewObject;
    import oracle.jbo.html.struts11.BC4JUtils;
    import org.apache.struts.action.Action;
    import org.apache.struts.action.ActionForm;
    import org.apache.struts.action.ActionForward;
    import org.apache.struts.action.ActionMapping;
    public class LienCheckView1QueryAction extends Action
    public ActionForward execute(ActionMapping mapping, ActionForm form, HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response)
    BC4JContext context = BC4JContext.getContext(request);
    // Retrieve the view object instance to work with by name
    ViewObject vo = context.getApplicationModule().findViewObject("LienCheckView1");
    vo.setRangeSize(3);
    vo.setIterMode(ViewObject.ITER_MODE_LAST_PAGE_PARTIAL);
    // Do any additional VO setup here (e.g. setting bind parameter values)
    vo.setWhereClauseParam(0,request.getParameter("row0_SerialNum"));
    // default value for serialCollCd 1 is for Motor Vehicles
    vo.setWhereClauseParam(1,new oracle.jbo.domain.Number(1));
    // Default value for maxRows_allowed
    vo.setWhereClauseParam(2,new oracle.jbo.domain.Number(20));
    return BC4JUtils.getForwardFromContext(context, mapping);
    This doesn't always work properly though. The first time I press the query button, the SerialNum parameter is still null, however if I re-execute the query by pressing the query button again. It will work, and return the rows. I always have to query twice. Also the SerialNum attribute is set to a String in my view object, it is a varchar column in the database, but some serial number I enter give a "Error Message: oracle.jbo.domain.Number ". This happens even though the underlying BC4J is returning values for the query. I also get a "500 Internal Server Error java.lang.ClassCastException: java.lang.String on my View object's code at line 65 which is
    if (params.length>1) serialCollCdIn = (BigDecimal)params[1];
    This is an input paramter to the oracle stored procedure that defaults to a Number value of 1.
    Any idea what the problem is? Here is the full code for my view object:

  • Problem with "package-info.java" using EJB 3.0 and OC4J

    Hi all.
    I already posted this question on JDeveloper forum, but didn't get any answer,
    so I'll try posting here.
    Anyway, I'm new both to JDeveloper and J2EE,
    so I'm trying out examples for EJB 3.0, and I got stuck at "Use Security Annotations with EJB 3.0"
    (http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/oc4j/ejb3/howtos-ejb3/howtoejb30security/doc/how-to-ejb30-security-ejb.html).
    Example code is working perfectly, if one builds it using Ant, but I'm importing all examples into JDeveloper (or at least I'm trying to :))
    JDeveloper can't build file "package-info.java" containing following code:
    @javax.annotation.security.SecurityRoles(roleNames={"superuser", "user"})
    package oracle.ejb30;I'm getting following output in "Compiler - Log" window:
    Error(2,1): 'class', 'interface', or 'enum' expected.
    Help much appreciated...
    platform used:
    Windows XP SP2
    JDeveloper Studio (Version 10.1.3, Build 3412)
    JDK 1.5_06
    OC4J 10.1.3 developer preview 4 (standalone version)

    Since you're using EJBs, you can use JTA and can skip the getTransaction() calls. If you want to use getTransaction().begin() and commit(), then make sure that your EntityManager is resource-local. The configuration for this is in persistence.xml. Set a transaction-type of RESOURCE_LOCAL rather than JTA.

  • Packaging ADF application using scripts

    How i can package a adf application in ear using ant / maven script?

    It's common requirement in this forum to post which version of JDev you're using.
    If you're using JDev 11g, look for the ojdeploy documentation on creating ADF Libraries.
    For general EAR/WAR construction consult publicly available Ant documentation.
    Unfortunately I can't comment on Maven, though I note a number of bloggers are currently working on it's integration with JDev 11g: http://biemond.blogspot.com/2010/05/deploy-to-weblogic-with-maven.html

  • Can I create an application using APEX that users see different web pages?

    I would like to create one application that different users are allowed to see only certain web pages based on the available data. For example, let's say that my application consists of 5 report pages and each report page is associated with a particular table or view on the system. If only 2 tables exist on the system, users should only see the two report pages associated with the 2 tables and they should not see the other 3 report pages associated with the other 3 tables.
    If I provide another table, the application should then allow the associated report page to be used.
    Can I do this with APEX? If so, how?
    Thanks,
    RJ

    How about creating authorization schemes that are based upon a simple exists -
    select 1 from user_tables where table_name = 'EMP'
    and then you can associate that authorization scheme with your pages, list items, whatever you need. You can have your authorization scheme evaluated just once per session so it will be very speedy.
    I am sure there are lots of ways to solve this one -

  • Need a SCCM SQL Query Report for Installed Software with Packages and Applications.

    I need a report that will show the number of installs of all of the workstations applications and packages over a given period of time.
    This will let us know how effective our deployments are and how well the on-demand software is being adopted.
    Any help?

    Your Install Source might be an option as most SCCM deployments will install from C:\Windows\ccmcache\xx [where xx is a random folder name]. Most software vendors will put an install source in the registry, but not all do, so it won't be completely accurate.
    When software is installed manually, the install source path won't be C:\Windows\ccmcache\xx.
    Here is a SQL query I have for Install Source:
    SELECT v_GS_COMPUTER_SYSTEM.Name0 as 'Computer Name', v_GS_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE.ProductName0 as 'Software Title', v_GS_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE.InstallSource0 as 'Install Source', v_GS_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE.ProductVersion0 as 'Version', v_GS_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE.InstalledLocation0
    as 'Installed Location', v_GS_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE.InstallDate0 as 'Install Date'
    FROM v_GS_COMPUTER_SYSTEM INNER JOIN v_GS_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE ON v_GS_COMPUTER_SYSTEM.ResourceID = v_GS_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE.ResourceID
    WHERE v_GS_INSTALLED_SOFTWARE.ProductName0 like '%Office 365 Pro%'
    ORDER BY v_GS_COMPUTER_SYSTEM.Name0

  • Help needed- Caller tone application using JTAPI and JMF

    Hi to All,
    I want to make a Caller Tone Application for Cisco IP phone.
    For that application I am using JTAPI and JMF.
    I am new to this two technologies.
    Can somebody help me for how to accomplish this?
    ---Ashish

    Hi Jerry,
    You can run analog input and counter tasks concurrently.  You can start them using software timing basically at the same time which may be fine for your needs and is the easiest to implement.  You also can use a hardware start trigger to start the tasks if you prefer.  It all depends on the level of synchronization you need.
    You have not mentioned at what rate you will be acquiring data on your analog inputs.  The M Series PCI-6225 has 80 analog inputs and may suit your needs.  You will need to know what sampling rate you are trying to achieve.  Any M Series device will definitely give you the best value.
    Hope this helps!

    Hello,
    Welcome to MSDN forum.
    I am afraid that the issue is out of support range of VS General Question forum which mainly discusses
    the usage of Visual Studio IDE such as WPF & SL designer, Visual Studio Guidance Automation Toolkit, Developer Documentation and Help System

  • Working with 2 DNN applications using the same database

    Hi,
    I have a client that needs 2 DNN web applications. I am hosting these on Azure. I have created the first one successfully and rather than create a second application and database, I was wondering if it is better to add the 2nd application as a child site
    of the first one. I know this is possible in the "Site Management" by adding a new site but how does it work for setting up the DNS.
    My first site would be set up as follows: myfirstsite.azurewebsites.net and I can set up the DNS to www.myfirstsite.com. If I add a second site as a child, then the url would be: myfirstsite.azurewebsites.net/mysecondsite. Could I then set up the DNS to
    point that url to www.mysecondsite.com? Would this be the way to do it or is it better to have 2 separate apps with 2 separate databases? I'm thinking in terms of hosting fees as well.
    Thanks
    rvenable

    Hello rob.venable,
    I understand that you would like to add your second DNN web application as a new site to the existing and would like to know how to setup the DNS.
    You will need to create a subdomain for your second application with reference to your exiting application and point the URL to the existing application.
    For eg, if you create a website with the CNAME
    www.mysite.net, you can create a sub domain to point out the new other application as
    www.mysite.net/subdomain
    You can refer to this link that will give you information on 'Mapping a custom subdomain to an Azure Website':
