Help with slash and back slash

hi guys
I'd like to replace / with \ in a string like that
c:\myfolder\myexamples\myfile.txt to c:/myfolder/myexamples/myfile.txt
so I can use runtime exec

Nobody seems to have noticed that the original
question was something like
"I want to change / to \ in a String so that the
resulting String will have / instead of \ in
it."
I noticed. I assumed he meant what the example demonstrated, not what the prose stated.
However, on re-reading it, he says it's to be able to use Runtime.exec, so probably he wants replaceAll("\\\\", "\\\\\\\\").
Or does runtime.exec accept "C:/a/b/c.exe"?
>
Which if you look carefully, doesn't make sense.
Everybody provided a method to change \ to /, even
though the subtext of the post suggested that
changing / to \ was the real requirement. Which would
beString str2 = str.replaceAll("/",
"\\\\");At least it would to somebody like me
who doesn't know regular expressions well. I would
use the simple, non-regex version:String str2 =
str.replace('/', '\\');

  • Help with iPhoto and back up

    Hi
    Can someone help me... In order to create more space on the HD of my 2007 iMac (500gb) i copied the iPhoto library to my external HD (La Cie) and then put original in the trash wit a mind to delete it and only boot iPhoto from the Lacie. After consultation on this site i realised this was a mistake as i should do that with a completely separate HD not the one I use Time Machine on! So I've put the orginal iPhoto library back in the pictures folder and it works fine when i select it BUT its now called an iPhoto PACKAGE with a folder as an Icon NOT iPhoto library with the flower icon. Does this matter or should I now delete this package and copy the original back from the LaCie which IS still called a library with the little flower icon... Sorry this is so long winded but I need to give you all the info.
    Thank you for your help.

    Hi Yes it does all is normal with it and no lost images. Just the iPhoto icon has been replaced with a Package folder since being taken back out of the trash.
    Thank you

  • Help with writing and retrieving data from a table field with type "LCHR"

    Hi Experts,
    I need help with writing and reading data from a database table field which has a type of "LCHR". I have given an example of the original code but don't know what to change it to in order to fix it and still read in the original data that's stored in the LCHR field.
    Basically we have two Function modules, one that saves list data to a database table and one that reads in this data. Both Function modules have an identicle table which has an array of fields from type INT4, CHAR, and type P. The INT4 field is the first one.
    Incidentally this worked in the 4.7 non-unicode system but is now dumping in the new ECC6 Unicode system.
    Thanks in advance,
    C
    SAVING THE LIST DATA TO DB
    DATA: L_WA(800).
    LOOP AT T_TAB into L_WA.
    ZDBTAB-DATALEN = STRLEN( L_WA ).
    MOVE: L_WA to ZDBTAB-RAWDATA.
    ZDBTAB-LINENUM = SY-TABIX.
    INSERT ZDBTAB.

    DATA: BEGIN OF T_DATA,
                 SEQNR type ZDBTAB-LINENUM,
                 DATA type ZDBTAB-RAWDATA,
               END OF T_TAB.
    Select the data.
    SELECT linenum rawdata from ZDBTAB into table T_DATA
         WHERE repid = w_repname
         AND rundate = w_rundate
         ORDER BY linenum.
    Populate calling Internal Table.
    LOOP AT T-DATA.
    APPEND T_DATA to T_TAB.
    ENDLOOP.

    Hi Anuj,
    The unicode flag is active.
    When I run our report and then to try and save the list data a dump is happening at the following point
    LOOP AT T_TAB into L_WA.
    As I say, T_TAB consists of different fields and field types whereas L_WA is CHAR 800. The dump mentions UC_OBJECTS_NOT_CONVERTIBLE
    When I try to load a saved list the dump is happening at the following point
    APPEND T_DATA-RAWDATA to T_TAB.
    T_DATA-RAWDATA is type LCHR and T_TAB consists of different fields and field types.
    In both examples the dumps mention UC_OBJECTS_NOT_CONVERTIBLE

    Thanks

    The Apple genius at the Apple store told me this would work. It failed. Basically, updating your iPhone 3GS to iOS5 wipes your 3GS of its data so you can't really do this. Some data worked. Music, photos etc didn't work at all.
    I suggest avoiding iCloud completely for a few weeks until Apple gets it working.

  • Help with count and sum query

    Hi I am using oracle 10g. Trying to aggregate duplicate count records. I have so far:
    SELECT 'ST' LEDGER,
    CASE
    WHEN c.Category = 'E' THEN 'Headcount Exempt'
    ELSE 'Headcount Non-Exempt'
    END
    ACCOUNTS,
    CASE WHEN a.COMPANY = 'ZEE' THEN 'OH' ELSE 'NA' END MARKET,
    'MARCH_12' AS PERIOD,
    COUNT (a.empl_id) head_count
    FROM essbase.employee_pubinfo a
    LEFT OUTER JOIN MMS_DIST_COPY b
    ON a.cost_ctr = TRIM (b.bu)
    INNER JOIN MMS_GL_PAY_GROUPS c
    ON a.pay_group = c.group_code
    WHERE a.employee_status IN ('A', 'L', 'P', 'S')
    AND FISCAL_YEAR = '2012'
    AND FISCAL_MONTH = 'MARCH'
    GROUP BY a.company,
    b.district,
    a.cost_ctr,
    c.category,
    a.fiscal_month,
    a.fiscal_year;
    which gives me same rows with different head_counts. I am trying to combine the same rows as a total (one record). Do I use a subquery?

    Hi,
    Whenever you have a problem, please post a little sample data (CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, relevant columns only) from all tables involved.
    Also post the results you want from that data, and an explanation of how you get those results from that data, with specific examples.
    user610131 wrote:

    I am trying to combine the same rows as a total (one record). Do I use a subquery?Maybe. It's more likely that you need a different GROUP BY clause, since the GROUP BY clause determines how many rows of output there will be. I'll be able to say more after you post the sample data, results, and explanation.
    You may want both a sub-query and a different GROUP BY clause. For example:
    WITH    got_group_by_columns     AS
         SELECT  a.empl_id
         ,     CASE
                        WHEN  c.category = 'E'
                  THEN  'Headcount Exempt'
                        ELSE  'Headcount Non-Exempt'
                END          AS accounts
         ,       CASE
                        WHEN a.company = 'ZEE'
                        THEN 'OH'
                        ELSE 'NA'
                END          AS market
         FROM              essbase.employee_pubinfo a
         LEFT OUTER JOIN  mms_dist_copy             b  ON   a.cost_ctr     = TRIM (b.bu)
         INNER JOIN       mms_gl_pay_groups        c  ON   a.pay_group      = c.group_code
         WHERE     a.employee_status     IN ('A', 'L', 'P', 'S')
         AND        fiscal_year           = '2012'
         AND        fiscal_month          = 'MARCH'
    SELECT    'ST'               AS ledger
    ,       accounts
    ,       market
    ,       'MARCH_12'          AS period
    ,       COUNT (empl_id)       AS head_count
    FROM       got_group_by_columns
    GROUP BY  accounts
    ,            market
    ;But that's just a wild guess.
    You said you wanted "Help with count and sum". I see the COUNT, but what do you want with SUM? No doubt this will be clearer after you post the sample data and results.

  • Help with exporting and image size or boundaries?

    I am trying to slide the cat into the scene a little at a time foir an animation project I am working on. However, when I export the image the back ground of the image expands with a checkered back ground( showing here in white) and shows the whole cat.
    How do I just show a little of the cat on the image at a time when exporting. I am trying to give the impression that the cat is walking into the room. I do not want to have to cut the cat up.
    I would be thankful for any suggestions.

  • Need Urgent Help with Apache and PHP

    I have been struggling with apache and php for a week now and I finally broke down to post a message.
    I have apache 1.3 running on my mac mini g4 with 10.4.9 and I installed sql. I went to the entropy website and downloaded php5 to install without knowing I already had php4 on the machine. I installed 5 but could not get it to work. I then went back to httpd.conf and tried to install php4 by uncommenting out the loadmodule and addmodule lines. I restarted apache but php still did not work. I tested the phpinfo.php script but all I got was the script in Safari and not the actual page. At the moment, I have php4 and php5 on my machine but can't get either one to work. I am sure there is an easy fix but I don't know it. Please help.

    The problem is not terribly complicated, but Apache will not start with the entropy file in the folder
    /etc/httpd/users/
    Let me experiment on you. Rename the entropy file and then try to start Apache. To do this, open Terminal and paste this command:
    <pre>sudo mv /etc/httpd/users/+entropy.conf /etc/httpd/users/+entropy<pre>
    Now check the Apache configuration:
    <pre>apachectl configtest<pre>
    If it says "Syntax OK", start Apache:
    <pre>sudo apachectl start<pre>
    Since we only disabled the entropy file, you should be able to enable PHP5 with some more advanced configuring.

  • Need Help with Transporting Playlists Back to I-Tunes

    If anyone can help with this issue, I would really appreciate it. Here's my situation:
    After many long hours organizing my playlists on I-Tunes, my pc malfunctioned and I needed a complete software overhaul. Therefore, I have had to reinstall all software programs on my computer...including I-Tunes. Due to these procedures, I have lost all of my playlists on I-Tunes.
    I did manage to save all of my songs to an external hard drive, and I have copied them back to my I-Tunes library (albeit without any playlists). What I would like to be able to do is transfer the organized playlists from my ipod back to I-Tunes to avoid a massive reorganization project.
    I should point out that hardly any of my music has come from buying songs on I-Tunes so the "Transfer Purchases" option does not seem a viable option.
    Thanks so much to anyone who can offer suggestions.

    Aside from the method I already mentioned in this thread, there is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
    Other free programs are Pod Player, SharePod and Floola.

  • Help with httprequests and responses

    it is my first time writing a servlet, but i need one to work with a project i'm working on. I have a class that will do all the methods on the server side of the project, but my problem now which i need to resolve, is how to get my client side app (made in flash mx) to work with my servlet and communicate the xml information i'm getting on the server back and forth.
    I know that you must answer a httpRequest in the servlet, and i know this must be sent somehow from the clientside app, but i need information and help on how to get information sent in this request the right way, and also help on how to properly format a response that will work.
    from what i know so far- it looks like the type of client-side app isn't important, as long as the request is sent right- so knowing that, flash and java should work fine in communication as long as flash sends a valid request and java answers it right.
    could anyone help me with information and/or help about how the requests and responses send information and what code you need to write to get information (even generalized code will work)
    Help would be really really appreciated.
    -mike

    To get data to and from the server and client, you'll have to seriaze it at one end and deserialize it at the other end.
    I don't know much about Flash MX but a java program on the client can exchange data with a servlet using the above means.
    For example, to read a string from a servlet using a java program on the client, you do the following:
    On the servlet:
    1. set content type to 'application/x-java-serialized-object'
    2. Get an output stream thus:
    ObjectOutputStream outStream =
    new ObjectOutputStream(response.getOutputStream());
    3. Write the data and flush the stream to be sure that all content has been sent:
    outStream.writeObject(myString);
    outStream.flush();
    On the client (java prog):
    1. get a URL: URL dataURL = new URL(protocol, host, port, address)
    2. connect to the URL: URLConnection connection = dataURL.openConnection();
    3. for fresh results everytime, turn off caching:
    connection.setUseCaches(false)
    4. get an input stream:
    ObjectInputStream in = new ObjectInputStream(connection.getInputStream());
    5. Get your string thus:
    String myString = (String) in.readObject();
    This is a very simplified example (you'll have to catch exception an a reall application).

  • Creating a web based book publication with front and back covers

    I have created a book in Indesign which is 12 pages inclusive of front and back covers, the problem I'm having is that when I convert the file into an SWF file the front cover has an extra page to the left of it and the back cover has an extra page to the right of it (these pages are not in my Indesign layots) I don't want these pages as I want the document to look like a book when I send it out.  I'm assuming I haven't set the document up correctly?  I have been on a number of tutorials but none of them seem to go into this.  Some pointers would be really helpful.
    Thank you.

    You can do this in Elements. It will require planning for the layout, viz. height, and width of front & back covers, and space allocation in between for the spine area. Be sure that your printer can handle the document size.Once you have figured this out, you need to open a new, blank file of appropriate size and resolution.
    There is available a grid which I find very helpful  to facilitate alignment.
    Each of your pictures, and the blank file (#1 above), should have a resolution of 240--300px/in for good result with printing.
    The text can be produced with the type tool - optionally horizontal or vertical.
    The pictures and text will each be on their own layers, and the move tool can be used to position these components

    1) Swing related questions should be posted in the Swing forum.
    Custom painting should be done in the paintComponent(..) method. You created a "pintarGraphico" method to do the custom painting, but that method is only execute once. When Java determines that the panel needs to be repainted, the paintComponent() method is executed which simply does a super.paintComponent(), which in turn simply paints the background of the panel overwriting you custom painting.

  • Help with XMLSEQUENCE and repeating elements

    I need help with the following XML extraction (note this is on Oracle9i). I have the following XML structure. There are multiple <Reading> elements
    <MeterReadings>
    <MeterReading>
    <Meter>
    <id>0004128190</id>
    <idType>METER_X_UNIVERSAL_ID</idType>
    </Meter>
    <Premise>
    <id>PREM4128190</id>
    <idType>X_CLIENT_PRMSE_ID</idType>
    </Premise>
    <Reading>
    <value>11111</value>
    <readingTypeId>CKWH</readingTypeId>
    </Reading>
    <Reading>
    <value>22222</value>
    <readingTypeId>KWHP</readingTypeId>
    </Reading>
    </MeterReading>
    </MeterReadings>
    I want to return one row for each <reading> element, including all its sub-elements - <value> and <readingTypeId>
    So, for the above data set, I would like to get back something like this. The parent elements can be repeated.
    <meter/id>,<Premise/id>,<Reading/value>,<Reading/readingTypeId>
    0004128190,PREM4128190,11111,CKWH
    0004128190,PREM4128190,22222,KWHP
    I have tried to use the XMLSequence function like this:
    select extractvalue(i.xml_message,'MeterReadings/MeterReading/Meter/id'),
    extractvalue(value(p),'value'), extractvalue(value(p),'readingTypeId')
    from myTable i,
    table(XMLSequence(
    extract(i._xml_message, '//Reading/*' ))) p
    But then I get results like this, where each sub-element results in a new row:
    0004128190     11111     null
    0004128190     null     CKWH
    0004128190     22222     null
    0004128190     null     KWHP
    What would be the proper XQuery?
    Thanks!

  • Need help with button and motion tween...

    I'm trying to create a simple game. Right now I have one button that when clicked moves the character across the screen. My issue is trying to make the player stop looping after I click the button. If I just insert stop for the last frame it will only loop once and stop, but it will not play again after the button is clicked. I've tried using players_turn boolean but couldn't get that to work. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!
    [AS]
    package
        import flash.display.MovieClip;
        import flash.events.MouseEvent;
        import flash.events.KeyboardEvent;
        import flash.ui.Keyboard;
        import flash.events.Event;
        import flash.ui.Mouse;
        public class Main extends MovieClip
            //Player variables
            var players_turn:Boolean = true;
            //Enemy variables
            public function Main()
                //Add event listeners
                buttonAttack.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onButtonAttackClick);
            //Event handlers
            function onButtonAttackClick(event:MouseEvent):void
                if (players_turn == true)
                    //Player attacks enemy
                    player.gotoAndStop(2);
                    trace("attack");
                    trace(players_turn);
            //trace(players_turn);
            /*if (players_turn == false)
                player.stop();
                players_turn = true;
    [/AS]

    player is a symbol that is classic tweened. It has to frames. The first is a still frame with a stop action. The second has been converted as a symbol to show the player move across the screen and back.   When the attack button is clicked the player moves across the screen and back but it keeps on looping. If I add a stop action to the last frame it will move and comeback and stop but it will not move anymore when the button is clicked again.
