HFM 11.1.2.1 installation -- HFM Web Services

Hi Guru's,
I recently installed HFM 11.1.2.1 version and I am now seeing an extra service on the name of HFM Web Services. Can someone tell me the purpose of it.
Thanks for your help
Prasad

Hi Prasad,
Sorry there was a typo in my last replay.
" You should see HFM web services and HFM web service manager. "
Yeah uninstall should remove all the services, but for a clean installation its always good to re-image the servers and install.

Bhargav

  • Problem running web service demo 10gR2 form

    Hi all,
I have downloaded the Oracle Forms 10gR2 Demos from OTN and I have the problem while running WEBSERVICES form. When I am trying to change value of the currency drop down list to call web services I am getting Java exception with the message “msg=connection refused”.
However I verified the installation of web services http://127.0.0.1:8889/demowebservice/Forms90CurrencyConverter
    and its working fine.
Any suggestion will be much appreciated.
    Thank you in advance.

I am not an expert on web services, but I believe this message indicates that the server you are trying to connect to (local machine) refuses to talk to you. The reason why can be many.

  • HFM Web Sever Configuration--Keep Alive and Session Time Out Optimal Config

We recently implemented an HFM 9.3.1 environment. We are using Windows 2003 Enterprise SP2 servers with IIS6. We have two HFM Web servers connecting to an application cluster with two application servers in the cluster. We were getting some errors when trying to unlock HFM cells in Workspace, but we were able to perform the functions fine on the application using the WIN32 client.
I opened a ticket with support and they recommended modifying the subcontext.properties file located in %HYPERION_HOME%\deployments\WebLogic9\servers\Workspace\webapps\workspace\conf. They recommended changing the following settings:
    #KeepAliveInterval=30
    #SessionTimeout=60
From what I understand, these settings are for the communication between the HFM Web Servers and the application cluster servers. I'm wondering how changing these settings may affect our environment. Are there negative effects and/or trade-offs for changing these settings? Is there a recommended threshold or maximum value?

    Hi Dinesh,
This cannot be achieved without development enhancements to some standard SAP framework component, to introduce a "keep-alive" concept. If you are using a CMS for CTI or email integration, you need to ensure it supports keeping the communications session alive also.

  • Unable to open the HFM web server link

I am gettng the following error while connecting to the url "http://<servername>/hfm/home/LaunchPage.asp"
    Error Number:1
Error Description:Please Relogin. Session has Timed out
    Error Source:
    Page On which Error Occurred:
I have tried setting the Full permission at the website level to the Windows Admin user as well as IUSR and IWAM. but it still didnot work.
how ever, i was unable to find the Connection timeout tab when i clicked on HFM->Properties.
Please throw some light on it.

you didn't specify the version of HFM. I am assuming you are talking about a 9.3.x or 11.1.1.x release.
In HFM 9.3.0 and 9.3.1 and above, there is no direct link to HFM web. You must login to the BI+ Workspace and use the "Navigate"->"Applications"-"Consolidation" menus to launch HFM.
This is unlike Planning where there is still a direct link straight to planning.

  • HFM Web Client or Workspace

I'm in the process of migrating an HFM application from v4.1 to System 9.3.1.
Question: Has the HFM web client been totally replaced with Workspace? I'm able to access HFM through the Classic win32 desktop client and Workspace, but I can't seem to find the HFM web client similar to the one used in v4.2. (i.e. http://localhost:80/hfm) because this doesn't work.
    Thanks

    Top Tip of the day...
if you use the URL: http://<yourserver>:19000/workspace/index.jsp the splash page will not be launched...
So - the trick is the /index.jsp on your url
:) obvoously replace <yourserver> with your hfm server info or dns name
    Good luck

  • P6 R8.1 Web Service installation issue on Linux

We are trying to install P6R8.1 web services on weblogic in linux. We have the following setup:
    1. Oracle 11g standard database in CentOS-5.4 64-bit
    2. P6R8.1/ Weblogic 10.3.3.4 installed on CentOS 5.4 64-bit (separate server).
We have installed as per the oracle installation guide without any warning/ failure. After deploying the .war file (p6ws.war), it also showing Active in Weblogic admin console. But while trying to access the application (http://localhost:7001/p6ws) we are getting error: 403 Forbidden.
We have tested the weblogic by deplyoing some sample .war file and it works fine
After examining, we have found that there is no index.jsp file in the root of the p6ws.war file and it is only 29 mb compare to primaveraweb.ear file which is 194 mb of our existing installation (P6V7 with similar environment).
Is our .war file is not properly generated or we are missing some steps? Or there is any other issue?
Any help will be highly appreciated.
    Best Regards,
    Sandip

In previous versions the following was sufficient:
    http://HOST:PORT/p6ws/
The correct URL as of version 8.0 of P6 Web Services is the following:
    http://HOST:PORT/p6ws/services
See the following: "Error 403--Forbidden" When Attempting To View Available Services For P6 Web Services (Doc ID 1293112.1)

    Hi,
I am installing Primavera P6 v7 web serivces on a Ms Windows 2003 SP2 server machine but it gives error "error setting Java_Home environment variable" every time i run the oracle universal installer setup of P6 v7 web services. I have already installed Java JRE1.6.0_14 and set the JAVA_HOME variables in both system and user variables. I have also tried manually setting path of JAVA during setup but no luck so far everytime same error. I have been looking at the log file in oracle inventory folder but did not find any hint to resolve the issue.
Please suggest a solution or workaround.

  • How to include the NIWebAppServer.conf when building a web service installer in LV2010

    Hi all,
I'm build a LabVIEW 2010 web service and creates a deployable setup installation as described in Web Services FAQ:
    http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/tut/p/id/7747#toc12
but also would like to include my .conf file for the NI Application Web Server. The file is located in:
    C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Shared\NI WebServer\NIWebAppServer.conf
This is where all settings (listening ports, SSL, users etc.) are configured.
If I look in LabVIEW 2009 build instructions for web services:
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/62B9C2D5C91EE8B28625778800609FF2?OpenDocument
they include this file, but it is a new procedure in LV2010 (as seen in the top link) and I can't seem to get this conf file included and installed on the deployed system automatically for LV2010. Today, I must copy it manually.
Any ideas of how to do this?
    Thanks,
    Mattias

Having the same problem, even if pointing the installer to install the particular file, the installer will install its own some default file. Did you find any solution?

  • MBAM 2.5 Web Applications installation - "Web service application pool account is not valid"

    Hi,
I've created a Server 2012R2 installation to install MBAM 2.5. When installing the Web Applications I keep getting "The web service application pool account is not valid".
The account I am using is a standard domain account with admin rights on the Server and I've also set the SPN (both netbios and FQDN) and Delegation.
This account is also a member of the group that is defined as RW of the SQL databases (which were setup without any problem and are on a separate  Server 2008R2, SQL 2008R2 installation.
I am also getting an error with the SSRS URL , stating "SQL Server Reporting Services URL that points to the MBAM reports is not valid", despite being able to browse to the http://[FQDN]/ReportServer_MBAM location.
    Thanks.

I got this kind of error when I revert back my virtual machine a lot to my previous checkpoints. I hope this can't be an issue for you.
Make sure the application pool account must have the following login roles on the SQL server and have following rights on the reporting instance:-
    Required SQL Server permissions
The user responsible for installing MBAM database and reporting feature must have the local administrator privileges and the following log in permission:-
SQL Server instance login server roles:
    dbcreator
    processadmin
SQL Server Reporting Services instance rights:
    Create Folder
    Publish Reports
SQL Server Database Engine Services: SQL Server Database Engine Services must be installed and running during MBAM Server installation.
SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS): SSRS must be installed and running during the MBAM Server installation. Configure SSRS in "native" mode and not in "SharePoint" mode.

  • Configuring New Oracle Database with HFM Shared Services

    Hi,
We have upgrated the oracle database to new version 11g. We are using HFM 11.1.1.3 version. When I tried to configure the new oracle database with existing HFM Shared Services, the EPM Configurator hangs. Please could you clarify the below few questions before start configuring the database.
    1. Do we want edit any properties or configuration files before starting the EPM Configurator?
    2. If we want to edit the reg.properties file, what is the password denotes in reg.properties file(Below is the structure of the reg.properties file)? Whether I need to give Oracle database schema password?
    jdbc.url=jdbc\:hyperion\:oracle\://xxxxx;
    password=?
    jdbc.driver=hyperion.jdbc.oracle.OracleDriver
    local.value=####
    username=schemaname
    Thanks,
    Aravindh K

Is it a new database server you are trying to configure? As if it was just upgraded then you shouldnt need to do anything.
If it is a new database server then have a read of the following doc in Oracle Support - "How To Change Shared Services Database Repository in EPM 11 [ID 976279.1]"
