HFM 11.1.2 and IE8

I saw a post that said HFM 11.1.2 does support IE8.
Does anyone know where I can find an Oracle document that states this?

F-source menu not working with Windows 7 and IE8

This may be completely the wrong place to ask for help, but I could not find place else.
Several years ago I purchased the code from f-source to display an Adobe style flash menu for my website. I installed it and it worked fine.
Recently, I learned that it does not display properly to those using Windows 7 and IE8 (this may have also been happening with Vista). Rather than seeing my menu titles, people see "Button1, Button2, Button3...".
I have sent two messages to f-source support over the past 7 days, but have heard or seen nothing in the way of a response. Can anyone help me to either 1) fix the problem or 2) know whether older f-source code will ever work with the newer browsers.

Do you understand the disadvantages of using Flash for navigation elements? It may be time to re-think this approach....

Spry Data Sets and IE8

Hi, I Currently have a glossary using the Spry Tabbed Panels with Spry Data Sets embedded in each tab. I had it working great in pre IE8.
Once we upgraded to IE8 it just wont load or display the data sets in the tabs. Below is the page code. (I used the JS straight from the Spry Framework no alterations, except in the CSS files). Any help would be great =).

A page that looked fine in the last version does not look correct at all in 3.6.3, although it looks fine in both IE6 and IE8

This is a log-in page, which points to our email registration software's server (Tikit's Emerge Reaction Server). If you open in it in the last version of FF, it looks as expected. The page renders fine in IE6 and IE8, and all our other website pages (www.mofo.com) render fine in both ver. of FF - its just the pages that point to our emerge-reaction server site that won't render properly. Tikit says we are the only user having this problem, and they don't know what the problem is caused by. Help!?

I believe you can blame IE's incredibly slow JavaScript engine for this. That's my experience. There's not much the Mapviewer developers can do about that really.
I had hoped, that IE8 had improved on that, but there hasn't really been any visible differences.

FileDownloadActionListener and IE8

Hi.
I have a button with fileDownloadActionListener. On click, it downloads Excel file.
On Chrome, newer IE and other browsers it works OK.
Even on IE8 works OK,except...
Then I addded a table below this button and it is causing problem. Now IE8 complains about security when downloading file.
I click "download file" on IE8 warning line, everything gets reposted, but nothing is downloaded.
Then I click "download" button again, and IE8 doesn't bother me anymore with unreal security warnings.
Is there any other mechanism that I could use that would support IE8 repost behaviour. So much that i understand is that when I click ADF "download" button, it actually posts ajax call to server. Logically, when IE tries to repost page, nothing works.
So maybe there should be something like "download file using <form> submit instead of ajax" functionality in ADF? Or am I completly wrong?
The thing I don't understand even close is how could ADF table component influence behaviour of download button.

The problem is in table, more exact when there are some rows in it?
I guess IE gets them via Ajax, and decides that this is suspicius, and then it displays that annoying message.
Any idea what to use instead of table....

Data Execution Prevention and IE8 ?

I'm using Oracle Database 10g with forms 9.0.4.0.19 and IE8.
Whenever I run a form the IE shows a message and it crashes showing the url:

I've tried to modify formsweb.cfg and basejpi.htm, and tried to stop DEP but in vain.
Any suggestions.

Which plug-in you will need depends on your configuration in formsweb.cfg. You can also determine which version is needed by viewing the html source code ( View - Page Source ) from the failed browser session. Within the html you will see references to the JRE (JPI) version needed. Assuming you are configured to use the Sun plug-in, you will need to obtain it from them (Sun).

If you are using Oracle Jinitiator, the version certified with the Forms version you are using can be found on the server in the Oracle Home\jinit directory. Newer versions can be downloaded from OTN and Metalink. Be aware that not all versions are provided on OTN, however all versions can be found under Patches on Metalink.

yes, flowplayer is great tool, we are using it and its free version. cheers, but if u see http://apps.facebook.com/kickasskaraoke/most_liked.php in ie7 and ie8, click on video thumb and click on share or invite button, the video comes over the facebook window. i know the issue is diff If you get time let me know what is the solution for it. thnx in advance

SeamlessTabbing broken in IE7 and IE8

I have a Flash movie in an html page and need seamless tabbing to work as the page has to be 508 compliant (so you need to be able to use the tab key to navigate)...In IE7 and IE8 you can tab through fine once, but if you continue the tab the second time around the flash movie gets ignored. At first I thought it was me, but I found two samples online that were deemed to be functioning in a correct tab looping...and they do the same behavior...work fine once and the second time around the Flash content is ignored!!! I have found nothing addressing this...anywhere.... (BTW I have things running fine in FireFox...that was an easy fix)...but I have to target both IE and Firefox...
Here are the samples that are deemed to be correctly functioning tab looping (seamless tabbing)...however they are not in IE7 and 8

Agree totally with TexasApexDeveloper here. Trying to find a way to get older versions of IE to render HTML5 content is not a reasonable solution and will be a constant uphill battle.
You mentioned that your users use IE <9 on XP systems. Is IE the only browser installed on user workstations? Could Firefox be an option?

RH9 WebHelp Search won't render in IE 7 and IE8 with Chrome - Fix/workaround?

Hi,
We recently upgraded to RH9 and have discovered that when using IE7 and IE8 and Chrome, the search functionalty no longer works. I also experience the issue with the sample projects provided with RH9. When Firefox is used or IE7 and IE8 AFTER Chrome has been uninstalled, Help works as expected.
This is not limited to a preview of help locally but from within the application as well.
Is anyone experiencing the same issue and found a fix or a workaround.

Flash 10.1.x and IE8

I have an issue with Flash player 10.1.82.76 and IE8.6001 on xp sp3 residing on a Dell760. Error; "Staff Web Client session not avail" after 10 minutes idle from the last transaction. How can I adjust this to 6 hours before it times out?

When I went to Word and printed to the Adobe PDF printer, part of the text on page one of my document is missing but most of the other text is there.
Printer Preferences and Properties seem fine in Word.
I had a similar issue a while back and remember it was the current version of Flash causing the issue. We had to unistall flash and install an older version. But what's funny is the latest version of Flash results in the same problem and so does the previous version of Flash...which when I had that, the PDF conversion worked fine until last week.

Captivate 2 and IE8

I have some training videos that were done in Captivate 2 and run from a DVD. There is a Menubuilder menu that autoruns, and when you click on a topic, the actual video opens in a new window. Using Win7 and IE8, the menu runs perfectly (Flash 10 and Shockwave11 are both installed). When you click on a topic, the new window opens with the word: Connecting on the tab. The video, however, never plays. I suspect this is a setting in IE 8 somewhere, but I have yet to find it. Anyone have any clues?
Forgot to mention that if I navigate to the actual .htm file on the CD and double click it, the window opens correctly, and the video plays.
I don't have this issue in XP or Vista with IE8.

We have been experiencing some problem with the IE7 & IE8 "Protected Mode" when users are running courses in our LMS. I don't know if the same issue applies for projects which are executed locally from a DVD.
Just out of interest - have you tried your project using FireFox?

Jsp error Message: Access is denied. on customers IE7 and IE8

Hello,
Here is a thing:
Customer getting js error in IE7 and IE8. Firefox works fine.
I am not able to reproduce on internal machine with ie8. also internally all works in ie9 (also in browsing modes ie7, ie8). and of course firefox works great internally as well.
Error happens when they navigate back to caller page from popup page (SelectPG) by selecting not partial action. When they click on the commandImageLink popupPage get blanked (get white with no any information on it) and stays and IE showing yellow exlamation mark in the bottom left corner with error:
Message: Access is denied.

SelectPG is inside bounded taskflow which is ran as dialog from caller taskflow.Popup page SelectPG opens fiine and all information is displayed correctly, they can see table with all information do filtering on table etc...
i dont have access to customer enviroment. and i am not able to reproduce this on any of our internal enviroments.
kind of stuck here will appreciate any thoughts/hints/suggestions.

and it seems that to reproduce this - you can run any of your application which have taskflow's <inline-popup> with this kind of link:

for some reason target="_blank" makes popup not to be closed throwing the Access is denied error.
Do you know if there is any patch for this? (updating jdev version is not the option)

Respond.min.js and IE8

I have a site that I am working on. I have it working on the phones, tablets and desktops I have tested but IE8 keeps crashing with my respond.min.js. I have changed the head around a bit now and it has stopped crashing but I am wondering what I have done wrong. It is also only showing the mobile version of the site in IE8.

IE8 doesn't support CSS3 Media queries. Use a conditional CSS only for IE8 like this in your <head> tag:

Write a CSS file with all specific IE8 rules (without media queries) as ie8.css and IE8 will only load the CSS file, ignoring the main CSS on your site.
