HFM task flow

Hi All,
I have Oracle Hyperion system 11, and using HFM, and when I create a taskflow with recurence (automated) daily, the taskflow only works once, then the automation fails, there is no record or log that the taskflow is executed on the next day onward, have anyone face this issue before?
kind regards,
M

Hi,
Try extracting within the server to see if the extract is successful.
What is the version including the patch level?
Try the below:
I. Modify DCOM settings for HFMFileTransferServer.exe:
Check in Windows Task Manager if HFMFileTransfer.exe Windows process is still running. If yes, terminate it.
Open Component Services console by executing from Windows Command Line dcomcnfg
Expand Component Services tree.
Right-click HFMFileTransferServer and select Properties
Open Security tab and customize Access Permissions: add Network Service to Local Access permission
Launch the taskflow again to extract successfully.
II. On the HFM web server:
Open IIS Manager
Click on the hfm virtual directory and in Basic Settings (Actions frame) verify the Application pool. It should be hfmAppPool
In Application Pools find hfmAppPool, right-click on it and select Advanced Settings
Change the application pool Identity from NetworkService to HFM DCOM user.
Restart IIS using Windows command iisreset
Thank you,

  • Automation of HFM Task Flow

    Hi,
I am trying to automate the the task flows that we are using to consolidate and other tasks. My requirement is to automate them and schedule them as per the completion of the database load. So basically, I need to trigger my task flows after the completion of the event rather than kicking them off at a particulaar time.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Thanks Charles,
I found the document but what is mentioned in the document is the normla functionality of the task flows. That is I can automate a task ( like consolidate, calculate etc) but can only initiate a task at a particular time. I need to kick off/trigger the task based on a succeesful completion of a event ( like data load from the source or FDM load etc ). I am not able to find anything on that.
    Thanks,

  • HFM Data Extract in Task Flow ??

    HI,
I have a couple of clarification on HFM Data extract in HFM Task flow,
    1) Is Data extraction possible for the predefined accounts in HFM task flow? – in which Accounts & other dimesion memebers needs to be pre-defined so that just on execution of the task flow, HFM needs to extract the data into a text file (i.e., It should not prompt to select the Accounts (as well as other dimension members) each time we extract)
    2) For Data extract purpose, we need some of the HFM members in a different name. So, we planned to create a alias table. In data extraction, Is it possible to select the member names from an custom alias table?
    3) We have to define a specific set of Account values as negative in the extracted data file which is actually positive in HFM. Also, In the extracted data file, We need to have the Account member name same as the existing HFM Account name.
    a.     For instance,
    In HFM:
Account Member Name in HFM: VUK
    Account Value: 1000
    In the Extracted data file:
Account Member Name in data file: VUK
    Account Value: -1000
Is this feasible? If yes, can you explain a bit in detail (like how we can implement this in HFM)
    Thanks,
    Siva

    HI,
I need a help in HFM Data extraction.
We use four custom dimensions and our requirement is to get the data extract for the custom members which we need(we need only parent members in custom dimensions).
But, by default, HFM extracts the data for all base custom members(and not for any parent custom members) - which we dont wish to have.
Is there any possiblty to extract the data by choosing the custom members for which we need data ??
Our's is a classic HFM Application in 9.3.1. (in Oracle DB)
Your response will be highly appreciated !!!
    Thanks,

  • Execute a Task flow in HFM based on a event

    Hi All,
I have a requirement to automate a task flow based on if a file has arrived at a particular location. The requirement goes like this:
    1. File arrives at a particular location
    2. Task flow will be initiated as soon as the file arrives, task flow will load data from the file, consolidate and extract data to a predefined location.
My question is how can i write a batch to check in the folder if the file has arrived and based on that trigger the task flow if i get a positive result.
I can write the batch to check if the file exist but i don't know how to trigger the task flow from batch script.
Any help guys, I'm badly stuck.
    Thanks in advance,
    Suman

Make a file / directory watcher service to monitor for the activity : http://www.techrepublic.com/article/use-the-net-filesystemwatcher-object-to-monitor-directory-changes-in-c/6165137
Then use hfm-batch to execute your script. https://github.com/cgiogkarakis/hfm-batch

  • HFM Consolidations using Task Flow Automation

I have created a task flow that has 5 stages (each stage having a success and a fail link). The first stage is set to consolidate (Impacted) our Actuals scenario for 6 years for 3 entity trees). The 2nd stage consolidates a different scenario for 3 yrs for 3 trees, etc. The task flow seems to "stop" in Stage 1 after consolidating all 3 trees for a few years. If I look in the View Taskflow status, the task flow still shows as being active; however if I look under Running Tasks, it shows nothing is running. If I look under Task Audit, it shows the last consolidation finished. I run into this same problem both when I schedule the task flow and when I run it manually. It consolidates a few years and then stops (and it's still in the first stage). I looked in the Event log on the HFM server and don't see anything that looks suspicious. Has anyone else had this problem?
Also one more question - when I go to automate the task flow, why does the server time stamp listed there not match the clock on the server? I'm remoted into the server and the clock on the task bar says 9am, but the Server Date showing on the Starting Event tab shows 8am.
    Thanks.
    Terri

I just got back to looking at this today. I ran the task flow to consolidate 2004-2009 actuals for 3 trees for all 12 months. All 3 trees were consolidated for 2004. Two trees were consolidated for 2005 and then it stopped. Both 2004 and 2005 are in the same stage of the task flow, so if the settings were correct for 2004, they should be fine for 2005. If I look at the task audit screen, it shows that it started consolidating the 2nd tree of 2005 at 8:32am. It then shows my id logging off at 8:33am and that the consolidation finished at 8:38am. Then it shows my id logging off again at 8:47am. The task flow is set up so that my id logs in for the 1st stage and then the following stages are set to use Initiator ... but the flow isn't getting to the 2nd stage be/c it dies.
If I view the status of my task flow, it still shows as being active. I don't understand why the task audit shows my id as logging off be/c I still have the same 2 HFM sessions running as I did when I initiated the task flow ... unless it's the session that starts up to run the task flow that's getting logged off ... but if it is, I don't know why. Would the auto-logoff after so many minutes of inactivity cause this? Maybe that session appears inactive even though it's waiting for the task flow to do it's thing.
1:07pm Follow-up - After the task flow hung this morning, I manually stopped it. I then kicked off the same task flow again and it completed successfully about 4 hours later ... so it doesn't seem to be due to the auto-logoff (time out) setting.

  • Consolidation not getting started in Task Flow

    Hi All,
I am using Task Flow to run the HFM Consolidations in 9.3.1.. when i select "Run Now", the task flow is getting started and is in "Active" mode but the consol never starts. I checked in "Running Tasks" and in the grid for the cell status, both tells me that the consol never started.
The same task flow if i use for sending Email alerts, it sends email and change the status to "Done".
Also i manullay ran the HFM consolidation using web grid whcih also works.
Does anyone have faced this kind of issue in the past or can help me with any suggestions??
Thanks for your time & help,

    HI
Plz check in Sm37 whether the background job of the start process has started or not. If not find out why it has not started.
To find out the background job of the start variant. Right click on the start variant and select display scheduled jobs and it will take you to SM37 where you can check the job status.
As pointed out, if you are using immediate mode then you dont need to give date and time. IF you want to execute the process chain on a periodic basis then change the start variant by giving date and time and select the periodic option based on your requirement.
    Hope it helps.

  • Creating Task Flow fails

    Hi,
I am trying to create a Task Flow in HFM. I created new task, entered user credentials and in processing tab I picked URL for POV and clicked on edit and selected my dimensions, when I click “Ok” button the page goes blank. When I look at the page properties I notice that the page is directed to http instead of https. Could anyone please let me know if you have encountered this issue and how to go about fixing it. Thanks.

I fixed it.. I forgot to point the AM to the datasource but instead it was was using JDBC URL connection type.

  • Unable to extract all the currencies using Task Flow

    Hi Everyone,
I have 60 currencies that I extract using a Task Flow in HFM 11.1.2.1 to a SQL table, I only receive 59 of those currencies FX Rates in the SQL table. The CNY currency does not extract at all.
I have tried changing the PoV around with no success. I don't think it is the PoV anyway because the other 59 currencies have no problem.
    Any inputs please...
    Regards,
    Vinod

Sounds like this is using an EA extract process. In your Task Flow, can you extract just that one (CNY) currency? If you do this directly in Extended Analytics, is the output any different from the Task Flow? How about if you extract to a text file rather than SQL?

  • Can you have a task flow send an email to a user once a task completes?

Is it possible to have a task flow send an email after it successfully completes? If so, how?

Yes. In your Taskflow Stage, go to the Processing tab. Change Application to "Hub" and Action to "Email". You can put in multiple To email addresses delimited by a comma. You can even include variables in your email indicating whether each step was success/failure.
Two things irritate me to no end with the Email action:
    1) The From email address is hard-coded in HFM and cannot be changed from [email protected]
    2) Your message is a single string of text. The editor does not recognize hard returns/line feeds/whatever you want to call them. Basically, you can't have a blank line or an <enter>.

  • Manage Task flow

    Hi,
I am new to HFM. I need some help on Manage task flow
    1. I created Taskflow with 2 stages(Load Data and Consolidate) with links for each stage.
    2. I scheduled it and it is initiated successfull.
    3. And in the view taskflow status it says "Scheduler initiated workflow"
    4. The status is Active
    5. In the Taskflow Participant Summary nothing is displayed under Success variable, stsge name, etc.
but I do not see data into the application and nothing is available at 'Data Audit'. But in the task audit it displays 'logoff' in the activity against 'Task Automation'
Did I miss anything in the procedure?
    Can anybody help to me.
    Thanks in advance.

---- I am not sure where to check it whether failed or successfull.
--- But in the 'Task Flow status summary', status=active, Description = Scheduler initiated Work Flow
--- In the Taskflow Participant Summary there is nothing under these tags
Participant Stage Name Status Success Variable Status Message Completed
-- In the running Tasks also nothing is displayed
--- And for the stage two I set it as "End" only.
Can you help me where it went wrong?
    Thanks in advance

    Can anyone please help.

I would recommend reading this before posting here: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/adf-methodology/PzncJBPMFDw/7mxNblt_ppYJ
You give far to little detail about the scenario.
Is it an OOTB taskflow that you extended. If so, which one and what parameter did you add + how did you do it.
How did you deploy to spaces
There are a lot of steps in that process that can go wrong so don't expect us to come up with an answer based upon this basic information.

  • Creation an ADF Task Flow Based on a Human Task

    Hello!
While creating ADF Task Flow Based on a Human Task, I can't bind New TaskFlow to task, which I choose in Dialog.
    Details:
    I Have:
    BPM Project with PackageCreation.task
    ADF Project in Same Application
    I do:
    1. in Application Navigator right click on ADF Project -> New -> Web Tier -> JSF -> ADF Task Flow Based on a Human Task
in creation Dialog I choose PackageCreation.task and Don't change name of New TaskFlow (automatically JDeveloper set this name to PackageCreation_TaskFlow)
    I have After that:
new ADF Task Flow and my old PackageCreation.task.
    Question:
Why my Task don't bind to created ADF task Flow based on it?
I think, that while creating ADF Task Flow Based on a Human Task it has to change my task, writing some thing like This (inside xml):
    <taskFlowFileLocation>file:/D:/JDeveloper/mywork/SalesQuoteLab/EnterQuoteUILab/public_html/WEB-INF/EnterQuoteDetails_TaskFlow.xml</taskFlowFileLocation>
That xml element is creating in xml of *.task, while making auto-generation form for human task in BPM Project.

    Juan C,
    I use JDeveloper 11g Release 1.
May be I didn't explained my question correctly.
taskdetails1 is creating, and in Data Controls I have objects of my BPM Human Task Payload.
But in that file "PackageCreation.task" in source I can't find any link to instantly created TaskFlow.xml in my UI project.
    So, I have
NEW project "PackageCreationUI" with PackageCreation_TaskFlow.xml in it (and TaskDetails1 file too).
AND Did't Changed PackageCreation.task in BPM Project.
If I use *"BPM form creation wizard"*, after creating project and TaskFlow in it I see Changes in PackageCreation.task in BPM Project, something like that:
    <taskFlowFileLocation>file:/C:/JDeveloper/mywork/testApp/PackageCreationUI/public_html/WEB-INF/PackageCreation_TaskFlow.xml</taskFlowFileLocation>

  • Best way to refresh page after returning from task flow?

    Hello -
    (Using jdev 11g release 1)
What is the best way to refresh data in a page after navigating to and returning from a task flow with an isolated data control scope where that data is changed and commited to the database?
    I have 2 bounded task flows: list-records-tf and edit-record-tf
    Both use page fragments
    list-records-tf has a list.jsff fragment and a task flow call to edit-record-tf
The list.jsff page has a table of records that a user can click on and a button which, when pressed, will pass control to the edit-record-tf call. (There are also set property listeners on the button to set values in the request that are used as parameters to edit-record-tf.)
The edit-record-tf always begins a new transaction and does not share data controls with the calling task flow. It consists of an application module call to set up the model according to the parameters passed in (edit record X or create new record Y or...etc.), a page fragment with a form to allow users to edit the record, and 2 different task flow returns for saving/cancelling the transaction.
Back to the question - when I change a record in the edit page, the changes do not show up on the list page until I requery the data set. What is the best way to get the list page to refresh itself automatically upon return from the edit-record-tf?
(If I ran the edit task flow in a popup dialog I could just use the return listener on the command component that launched the popup. But I don't want to run this in a dialog.)
Thank you for reading my question.

What if you have the bean which has refresh method as TF param? Call that method after you save the data. or use contextual event.

  • What is difference between ADF Task Flow and Faces-Config - when delpoy ?

What is difference between ADF Task Flow and Faces-Config? When I create navigation between pages with ADF task flow then the navigation don't work when I deploy my application to Weblogic 10.3. When I use default server then navigation works fine. With Faces_config in both situations all works ok - on Stanalone server and default.
    Where is the problem?
    Best regards!

Shay, I don't use both faces-config and adf task flow! When I failed with task flow I tried faces-config.
I have active on my weblogic - adf.oracle.domain(1.0,11.1.1.0.0). This is the right ADF? If yes then where is the problem?
    Best regards!

  • How to get return values from task flow in af:region ?

    Hi!
I'm working with a taskFlow that is rendered inside a popup using the "popup inside a region pattern" (http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/adf/patterns/popupregionpattern.pdf), but now this taskFlow has an input parameter and a return value definition. So the question is how to get a value returned by this taskFlow thas is called inside a region?
    Any suggestion?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
write the value to a shared memory scope like session and read it in the regionNavigation listener. If you follow the paper you refer to then the listener determines of the viewId is null, this a return happens. It wuld then look in the memory scope for the return value.
Another option would be to use an object that you pass as an argument to the task flow you open in the popup. Then you change the object you passed in, which then makes the return information available in teh calling flow. The object you pass in would have to be in a shared scope too
