to write something in top of page u need to use TOP-OF-PAGE event.
to write something in end of page u need to use END-OF-PAGE event. but in this case u need to specify the no of lines per page & the no of line allocated for end of page in the REPORT statement as...
REPORT ZTEST LINE-COUNT 60(5).
here 60 is the no of lines per page & 5 is the no of lines for end of page.
if you want to write according to the radio-button selected on the selection screen use this code....
TOP-OF-PAGE.
IF RAD1 = 'X'.
      WRITE: ................
ELSEIF RAD2 = 'X'.
      WRITE: ................
ELSEIF RAD3 = 'X'.

I have developed classical report.in my internal table, i have 24 records.
my question is, in ALV report,we can display colors as zebra color autometically by function module.
but in classical report.how can we set zebra color for my 24 records.

Footer problem in classical report

Hi experts,
I devloped a classical report but i want to display a footer deatail in all of my page.
But in my last page it doesn't come......
NOTE : i have reservered 12(2) line for each page. but total record is 100.

Classical Report Screen with lost frame and headers

Hi Experts,
I have one classical report , which is having Refresh button ,
before executing refresh button all the page header information come correctly but one you have executed the Refresh the page header will be not displayed until you page up to top of page.
Refresh logic :
Under user command :
I am making sy-lsind = 1 .
and retrieve all the updated data and display again .
End of logic.
Please guide me how to keep page header as it is even if user command got executed.

I have a classic report with the below query, in this I have added a filter using a select list item (P70_GROUP).

Issue is when i select a group from the list I am getting
"report error:
ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small".
one unusual thing I have noticed here is when I select "All Groups" which returns 0, it is running fine and returning 3700 rows but when I select any group which returns some 10-20 rows I am getting the above error.
can't understand why this is, please help me out.

It is somewhat similar to what Michael has mentioned in his first post.
Above said report is a Tabular form and there are 3 select lists in it out of which one list is too long (Group list), when I hide it report works for all the groups.
That should have been made clear in the original post. Reports and tabular forms are not the same thing. There's much more that can go wrong on tabular forms, including hitting the LOV size limit of 32KB for a select list item. (Obviously if you hit this limit for a single item then you've automatically hit it the report row limit as well.)
I have explained them about the LOV that when we remove that LOV it works fine but they need that list because it is a updatable value.
As suggested by Michael, I have tried Substr, which also works fine for all the groups.
I would suggest client to have a short name of the groups and use it as a temporary solution.
You should use a Pop-up LOV control for large lists of options. Purely as a usability consideration—irrespective of APEX implementation limits—select lists should only be used in cases where there are a maximum of around 200 options.
Regarding Debugging: I am not getting that option when I run the application as a developer, checked the application properties Debugging option is selected as Yes, don't know why it is not available.
That's not connected to this problem. Open a new thread on that topic if you want to investigate and fix it.
One more confirmation from you guys please, I have also suggested them to upgrate the environment to the latest version, hoping this will resolve the issue, please confirm?
In the latest version also we have same size (32KB) limit or it has been increased?
The 32KB limits for select lists and report rows are not documented but are still present in APEX 4.2 (and in APEX 5.0 to the best of my current knowledge).

Is there any ROUTINE in any SAP prog. to get small classical report?

I need to develop a report, like classical report. I mean, as below, if u go FB50, eneter good adat , press SIMULATE button, then we can get a classical report showing the details in next screen........so, as i am posting FB50 from Z prog., and there is a simulate check box, so, i need to hv the same similar report to get to user, so, when i debugged this fb50+simulate, i found that, its coming from SAPLF064, include LF064F01 at routine form kopf_anzeige........but, its does not hv any IMPORT parameters........so, is there any other routine in any other sap prog. so that, i can pass my parameters, so that, sap will write this report for me, any clue?

i am posting a doc from my Z prog by using bapi_acc_document_post.......in my selection screen, i put SIMULATE ckeck box, so, if the user want to check the input data before posting, he will check the simulate check box, then, i need to show the data (inteneded to post) in next screen......so, as we know writing a classical report cumbursuom, so, am looking for a reday made routines in sap prog. so that, will pass my data, so sap write the report for me in next screen,..functional guy want to hv same like FB50+SIMULATE report as i said in my posting....so, am looking for it. thanq

In the transaction OAOR, you should be able to insert your company Logo.
GOTO - OAOR (Business Document Navigator)
Give Class Name - PICTURES Class Type - OT..... then Execute
It will show you the list, then select ENJOYSAP_LOGO.
On that list, you will find one control with a "create" tab.
Click std. doc types.
Select SCREEN and double-click.
It will push FILE selection screen.
Select your company logo (.gif) and press OK.
It will ask for a description- for instance: "company logo".
It will let you know your doc has been stored successfully.
You can find your logo under ENJOYSAP_LOGO->Screen->company logo.
Just run your ALV program, you should find your company logo in place of the EnjoySAP logo.

i Have to display multiple tables in the word document . i am displaying the first table but when i try to display the second table it is getting displayed inside the first table. When i debugged , i found that that the cursor is still in the first row of the first table even after the first table is displayed and the second table is displayed from that cursor position. How to get the cursor position after the end of the table ie outside the table to the main document.could some one help me on this. Below is the code i have used.

Highligh current row not working for classic report in 4.1

Hello experts,
One of our customers is migrating applications from APEX 3.0 to 4.1.
All their applications use classic reports because interactive reports didn't exist in 3.0.
The end users of the applications like the row color changing when they hover there mouse over the rows (highlight current row) and they insist on keeping this "functionality" in the applications.
For some reason, this "functionality" doesn't work anymore after the migration to APEX 4.1.
I thought it was something theme related so I created a new application with a classic report, tried some APEX built-in themes, and with none of them, I manage to get the highlight current row working.
For interactive reports it is not an issue.
Is this an undocumented no-longer-available feature of APEX 4.x or has there changed something which caused this functionality to stop working??

I created a service request for this issue, and the support analyst that helped me confirmed that this is a bug:

Bug 13584762 - ROW HIGHLIGHTING NO MORE WORKS IN CLASSIC REPORT IN APEX 4.1
While working on the problem , I have found the following solution in order to make the Row HighLightng work in APEX 4.1
In the apex_4_1.min.js (file located in images\javascript ) , Search for :
function setRowHighlight(a){apex.jQuery("#report_"+a+" .highlight-row").live("hover",function(b)
and replace "hover" by "mouseover mouseout" :
After the modification :
function setRowHighlight(a){apex.jQuery("#report_"+a+" .highlight-row").live("mouseover mouseout",function(b)
A refresh in the browser may be necessary in order to "reload" the file apex_4_1.min.js"
I implemented the suggested workaround and this solved the problem!

Classic Report with a two-line row, the second one as a drop down?

Hi,
Using APEX 4.0 is it possible to make a classic report layout that has row items sorted in 2 rows? The first row for each SQL record set row looks like the classic report 'normal' row, while the second one contains just one single column value. This second row is supposed to be hidden and should be displayable by clicking a small '+' sign at the beginning of the row.
I remember having seen this done, but I simply seem not to be able to formulate my query correctly to let Google display me the expected result. Although I am not sure if was APEX+jQuery or ExtJs. I hope though it is not ExtJS, since I do not plan to use that one.

How to insert a Grpahics logo in Classical report?

I need to insert a graphics logo in a classical report without using split screen or graphics control. The size of the logo is normal Company logo we use in Smartform. The difference here is : I need to print the logo in a classical report.

It is possbile only when u create ALV report. In normal report we cannot insert Logos.
In case of ALV:
Inserting Logo:

Apex 4.0.1 classic report export

Hello once again all you Application Express experts.
I am having some difficulty getting an apex classic report to export the results of the report grid.
This is a classic report being run, not interactive.
It is also as an SQL Query (PL/SQL function body returning sql query) for the report identification type.
The function body is of decent size, maybe 200 lines at most, but i have narrowed it down a couple of problematic lines.
The report runs perfectly when I take out the follow line from the function...
v_return := v_return || 'AND instr('':'' || ''' || :p3_status || ''' || '':'','':'' || xel.employment_status || '':'') > 0 ';
So :p3_status is a checkbox item on the page, with three options: Active, Terminated, Retired.
In the repeatable failure scenario :p3_status = 'Active'.
One of the interesting parts is the report grid always returns the right results to the screen, it is just the report export that fails.
It never errors, it just returns a no data response to the file being exported.
This is Application Express v 4.0.1 running on Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.3.0 - 64bit.
Any thoughts or any troubleshooting hints anyone can provide?

Why do u need to append the item value in the PLSQL function body when apex will take of that(using its bind value).
Your predicate is actually a static one since only the item value changes (and that can be handled by its bind value). So avoid concatenating it in the function body to build the clause(which has the additional problem of passing in the item value to the function)
Change it to
v_return := v_return || q'!AND INSTR(':'||:p3_status||':',xel.employment_status) > 0!';
Notice that the :p3_status item evaluation happens only in the apex page
Also making use of the q function to escape quotes, it makes life much more easier in these cases.

Whichever hot key i am clicking,it's opening all the transaction with that key for exam say I am clicking vbeln with value 'A' it's first opening VL03N. After this when i am clicking back, It's opening VAL0 with same key A (It's shoing Invalid Sales order no) and after that it's opeing VT03N with the same key.
Please tell me how I can open only the trancation for which user is clicking.
