Why does Firefox Support Home Page open automatically as my second tab, to right of home page, when I start Firefox, and how do I stop this?

I have newly installed Firefox 4 on my computer as part of re-installing my OS. Firefox now opens with 2 tabs: my specified home tab and, to its right, a Firefox Support Home Page tab. I suppose I did something to cause this, but how can I undo it?

Reset your homepage and make sure that only one tab is open when you set your homepage.

I have a eMac and i was wondering if its possible to upgrade the processor?

I have an eMac and it is very slow so I was looking at upgrading some of the parts. I know I can fit in new RAM but is it possible to get and install a new faster processor?

I vaguely remember there may have been one model that could be, but most are not upgradable, which exact eMac is it?

Possible to automatically save as a specific file type

Hey all! First, can I say that the search on here is really stupid? You have to search all the forums first before you can search just the forum you want to search? Who's the brainiac that thought that made any sense? I don't need to search the forums for every Adobe product when my question is about Dreamweaver. Seriously, stupid.
Anyway, here's my question! On my website, my files have to be .shtml. Is there a way to make it so that when I save files based on this template, it will automatically choose .shtml as the file type? Or do I just have to choose it manually every time?
It's not that a big a deal. I just keep forgetting and save new pages as html, then I have to change it.
Thanks and I hope everyone is doing well! I haven't been around much in a while. It was easier for me to pop in a see what's going on when I was using a newsreader. Oh well!

EDIT > Preferences > New Document > Default Extension. Type .shtml or .shtm and hit OK.

How can I get my bookmarks to display automatically, as vertical list on my Firefox home page (and every other site that I visit)?

I have tried to accomplish this via the Firefox "View," "Bookmarks," and "Tools" menus---to no avail.

There's a work around, although it's not perfect. Go to your photos app, choose the image you want for wallpaper. Tap on the little box with the arrow poking out of it, send to wallpaper. then you can scale and move a bit to get your image closer to what you want.
It's still not perfect. Basically it scales your image so that it fits the whole screen, which means if your image is wider than your screen, you can just slide it left or right, but you do have more control than if you go through the settings.

I downloaded Firefox 4. Now I no longer have the icon to automatically return to my home page from another website. How do I get it back?

Is it possible to automate flash apps and games

Hi,
Im really new to flash. I only just started learning about it today.
I was wondering if its possible to automate games and apps that have been written in flash.
For example.
Suppose a simple card game was written in flash. To automate it I would need to
-read all of the values of all labels on the screen.
-figure out the location and identity of active objects like buttons and text boxes.
I suppose these values could be passed to some kind of executable flile running outside the browser
which would then move the mouse and click the buttons as desired.
Mabey there is a better way of doing this ?
I tried running flash apps in Firefox with firebug and fireflash installed to see if I could see what was going on inside
the flash files. It didn't work. Mabey debugging has to be enable inside the files themselves which is no use if they are owned
by somebody else.
Can anyone guide me in the right direction here. Is it possible to automate a gmae somebody else has written in flash ?.

SWF file is a compiled code. This means that it comes in form of encrypted code and needs its own interpreter - Flash player plugin. As Ned said, no other program can see compiled code. Browser sees only <object> and it positions it according to DOM architecture. Firebug is a proxy that is capable to display network requests along with DOM architecture, JS, and CSS. Firebug has no access to SWF code either.
If your question is about how to expose particular parts of your application - the way to do that is to implement traces inside Flash. These traces can be output in some debugging software (for instance FlashTrace) at runtime. But, again, these tools cannot see more than traces.

Is it possible to automatically convert a website into a multi-page pdf?

I have a weblog that has reached the end of it's life, so the site is coming down. Before I do, however, I need to create a permanent record and a single multi-page pdf file would be perfect.
I know I can do this with Acrobat Professional, but I am hoping there is an automatic way to export the html pages into a single pdf file without doing each page one-by-one manually.
If anyone knows how to perform this task, please let me know.

What version of Acrobat do you have? In Acrobat 9 you'd select:
File > Create PDF > From Web Page
or
Advanced > Web Capture > Create PDF From/Append Web Page
There are various options that affect the result, including the number of levels to capture, page layout, how multimedia is handled, etc. Acrobat 11 is more advanced and will likely give the best results.

Why does firefox ask which program to open with and not start as automatic default? Why does it not go to home page?

When I click on firefox, it asks which program I want to open Firefox with, then asks me to download files. It does this every time I try to open Firefox. It does not automatically default to my home page as well. How can I change this back to an automatic process?

"Add-ons Manager" automatically launches on start up

Every time I open FireFox i get a tab for "Add-ons Manager" in addition to a tab for my home page. How can I suppress the undesired launch of "Add-ons Manager"? It is kind of a nuisance.

One possibility is that about:addons got added to your home page as a second "home tab" somehow. You can review your home page setting and look for that tacked on after a vertical bar (|). This article describe that in more detail: [[How to set the home page]].

Hi Chakri,
Basically, the URL getting generated is not directing to Google server on internet. You need to check with Portal / basis team to look at the URL and find which server it is hitting to getting Google page.
