Hidden apex item needed in report

hello all,
basically i'm having a design problem since some apex_item.hidden items must have the show attribute to true in order to use the id's they hold. so the report shows empty columns and that an issue.-
can anybody give advice on hidding these columns and still use the column values?
i'm adding a screen cap of the problem.

thanks in advance.

i've been looking around and found something that is hard to believe, the workaround for my problem is:
APEX_ITEM.HIDDEN(1,empno)||
APEX_ITEM.TEXT(2,ename) ename,
anyway it is not working (i got no data found).

  • Populating apex item checkbox in report row based on database value

    Hi All
    I am looking for help setting an apex item checkbox to 'checked' depending on a record exisiting in a database and I would appreciate a little guidance.
    At the moment I have a report which looks a bit like this
    SELECT licence_user_identifier,
    description,
    licence_name,
    apex_item.checkbox(22,licence_id)
    FROM TABLE(SOL_LICENCE.F_RETRIEVE_ORG_LICENCES ( 121 ));
    4 columns and the last column is a checkbox called 'assign' and is used to assign the selected licence to a user(who is already displayed on the page in another table). There is save button which when clicked saves a record to the database if the checkbox is selected.
    However when the page is displayed the checkbox should be prepopulated/checked if there is a record in the database saying that the licence is assigned to the current user. I have created a page process to try and collect this information and populate the checkboxes on load - before header. However I am having difficulty referencing the apex_application item the corresponds to each row because when I use the FOR i IN 1 .. apex_application.g_f22.COUNT LOOP it only selects the item if it is checked. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    here is the process I have to populate the checkboxes, it is not getting to my flow.debug as there are no selected checkboxes:-(

    Hi,
    Sorry my mistake. You can use the above link only to solve this problem, for this you have to use a hidden column to which you will assign 'Y' or 'N' as mentioned in that post.
    using that hidden column value you can fire your query accordingly.
    let's say your hidden column is f01 and checkbox column is f02 and the id column is f03, you can do like this
    create a process before your update process like this
    BEGIN
        -- Reset the hidden ADMIN_USER flag for all visible records to N
        -- Note: g_f01 maps to the hidden ADMIN_USER column
        FOR ii IN 1 .. APEX_Application.g_f01.COUNT
        LOOP
            APEX_Application.g_f01(ii) := 'N';
        END LOOP;
        -- Set the hidden ADMIN_USER flag for those records where the
        -- checkbox has been set by the user to Y
        -- Note: g_f02 is the checkbox column ADMIN_USER_CHECKBOX
        FOR ii IN 1 .. APEX_Application.g_f02.COUNT
        LOOP
            APEX_Application.g_f01(APEX_Application.g_f02(ii)) := 'Y';
        END LOOP;
    END;then write a new process positioning after above process
    if apex_application.g_f01 = 'Y' then
      your update query using id column (f03)
    else
      your delete query using that id column (f03)
    end if;hope this helps you.

  • How To Use a Hidden Page Item within an SQL Report Query without Submitting

    Hi,
    Using: Oracle ApEx 3.0.1
    I have an sql report region that contains a hidden page item as part of the "where clause". My problem is, based on a value entered by the user, I need to assign this value enetered to my hidden item, so that it can be used within the where condition of my sql but this would need to be done without actually submitting the form.
    At the moment, I can set the value via an on-demand process but my SQL is still not returing any values as the hidden page item within the query is not set (as page has not been submitted).
    Can anybody please assist as I am not sure how to do this and whether in actual fact, this is possible to do, without having submitted the page.
    Thanks.
    Tony.

    You can set a session value using a dummy ajax call e.g:
    Add the following to the 'Function and Global Variable Declaration' region
    function f_set_item(pThis){
      var get = new htmldb_Get(null,&APP_ID.,'APPLICATION_PROCESS=dummy',1);
      get.add('P1_ID',pThis.value)
      gReturn = get.get();
      get = null;
    }Where P1_ID is the session value to be set. Then call the function in the usual way e.g.
    javascript:f_set_item(this);
    I hope that helps

  • SQL Report query with condition (multiple parameters) in apex item?

    Hello all,
    I have a little problem and can't find a solution.
    I need to create reports based on a SQL query or I.R. Nothing hard there.
    Then I need to add the WHERE clause dynamically with javascript from an Apex item.
    Again not very hard. I defined an Apex item, set my query like this "SELECT * FROM MYTAB WHERE COL1 = :P1_SEARCH" and then I call the page setting the P1_SEARCH value. For instance COL1 is rowid. It works fine.
    But here is my problem. Let's consider that P1_SEARCH will contain several rowids and that I don't know the number of those values,
    (no I won't create a lot of items and build a query with so many OR!), I would like sotheming like "SELECT * FROM MYTAB WHERE ROWID IN (:P1_SEARCH) with something like : ROWID1,ROWID2 in P1_SEARCH.
    I also tried : 'ROWID1,ROWID2' and 'ROWID1','ROWID2'
    but I can't get anything else than filter error. It works with IN with one value but as soon as there are two values or more, it seems than Apex can't read the string.
    How could I do that, please?
    Thanks for your help.

  • How to create read only Apex items

    Hi,
    I'm creating a report using Apex items to display the result values inside editable text boxes. They are then referred by using APEX_APPLICATION.G_F02 etc.
    My requirement is to make the last row of this report (the values for "Total") as non editable or read only. Can anybody help me with the code that i would need to add in the query? The query goes something like this:
    apex_item.text(7, TO_CHAR(nvl(year_4,0),'999,999,999'), 12, 12, 'style="text-align:right;font-weight:bold"',ROWNUM) "YEAR_4", ..

    Surprising. I would have expected there to be a CSS style to disable a form item.
    Depending on your reasons for wanting to use APEX_ITEM, you could:
    Select your required value as part of the query (without using apex_item.)
    Visit your report attributes, then the attributes for your specific column.
    Change the column type to text field.
    Add readonly=true into the item attributes.

  • Custom pagination for APEX 4.2 interactive report using Page Zero

    Hi,
    I want to implement an «Custom pagination for APEX 4.2 interactive report» using a «page zero».
    I recently migrate from Apex 3.1 to Apex 4.2 and my «Custom pagination for APEX 3.1 interactive report» using a «page zero»  is not working any more.
    So now I try to adapt an excellent example of Jari Laine for 4.0 but using a page zero.
    I put the code JavaScript to Page zero but I must create an dynamic action to fire only for an interactive report region.
    It’s a good idea?
    Thank you

    Thought I would try once more with my DatePicker question.
    On the Apex.Oracle.Com website I have created a 1 page application that has an Interactive Report.
    [url http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=15655:1]
    user = 'test'
    password = 'test'
    I have 2 questions :
    (1) In IE7, press 'Actions', 'Filter'. On the Column dropdown list, select 'Order Timestamp'.
    Notice the prompt icon to the right of the 'expression'. This should change to the Datepicker, but in IE7 it does not. Try the samething in Firefox or Chrome and the Datepicker will appear.
    Is this a BUG, or does Apex 4.02 not support IE7 ?
    (2) In Firefox or Chrome, where you can now see the Datepicker, you will notice that it is the new style picker, not the old style ( called 'classic' ). I want to change it so that it shows the 'classic' datepicker not the new, but cannot see how to do it, if indeed you actually can.
    I would really appreciate it if someone could take a look and let me know if I am going mad, or if we need to get all our users onto IE8. We have now gone live with Apex 4.02 and need to resolve these issues.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Help Needed in Reports (Breaks, totals)

    Hi All,
    I am a fairly new user in Apex and would appreciate any help. I have a requirement to generate a report as follows:
    In below reports 1001,1002 are projects and i need to obtain project totals (e.g. 500,300,150,50) displayed conditionally. At first i had to display only projects and i could do it using 1 column report break.
    But how can i include the totals in the report breaks. And its more than 3 columns that i would need in breaks.
    Any suggestions? I dont think i can use breaks for this as APEX does not support more than 3 columns.
    Name task budget Expense commitments balance end_Date
    1001 500 300 150 50 15-01-2008
    1001-1-aa 1 200 100 50 50 15-01-2008
    1001-2-ab 2 300 200 100 0 15-01-2008
    1002 500 300 150 50 15-01-2008
    1002-1-aa 1 200 100 50 50 01-01-2008
    1002-2-ab 2 300 200 100 0 01-01-2008
    Thanks
    Sumana

    Hi All,
    Thanks Arie, your suggestion helped me to move in the right direction.
    I could display the project totals as needed without using breaks, but using a combination of query and report template change. The above examples given helped to certain extent.
    Now I have a requirement which is an extention to the above problem. I dont know if I must start a new thread for this.
    I need the report totals to be displayed conditionally. This condition has 3 cases, out of which I am able to achecive two.
    For the 3rd I would really appreciate any help/suggestions. I tried changing query/template. But it dint help.
    Here is the prob:
    Col1 Col2 Col3
    Project_name sum(amt) sum(amt)
    task1 amt amt
    task2 amt amt
    In above, the sum(amt) must be displayed when project_owner is person logged in.
    Col1 Col2 Col3
    Project_name
    task1 amt amt
    task2 amt amt
    In above, when task owner is person logged in then I must not display the sum(amt).
    I am successful in acheving both of the above, when all tasks owner is person logged in and when project owner is person logged in.
    But when I have project owner = person logged in and task1 owner = person logged in and task2 owner != person logged in my display comes out as shown below.
    Col1 Col2 Col3
    Project_name sum(amt) sum(amt)
    Project_name
    task1 amt amt
    *task2                     amt                           amt
    The actual display for third case must be:
    Col1 Col2 Col3
    Project_name sum(amt) sum(amt)
    task1 amt amt
    *task2                     amt                           amt
    Thanks

  • How to populate values in Apex item

    Hi,
    I am using apex collection item to capture data my requirement is to calculate data using the apex item
    This requirement is like this. I am using a SQL query like this
    select
    wwv_flow_item.TEXT(1,NULL,20,10) "A",
    wwv_flow_item.TEXT(2,NULL,20,10) "B",
    wwv_flow_item.TEXT(4,NULL,20,10) "C"
    from dual
    There 3 text boxes are generated in the window when i enter 3 in A and 2 in B it must give me a sum value in C as 5
    this has to be done dynamicall as end user key in values this can be done using java script or any other method please suggest
    Thanks
    Sudhir.

    Hello Sudhir,
    >> If there are multiple text box …
    If there are multiple text boxes, you need to allocate each a unique ID. The easiest is to use the substitution string #ROWNUM#. The code should look similar to the following:
    select empno,
    apex_item.TEXT(1,null,20,10,'onchange="addItems(this);"','A'||'#ROWNUM#') "A",
    apex_item.TEXT(2,null,20,10,'onchange="addItems(this);"','B'||'#ROWNUM#') "B",
    apex_item.TEXT(3,null,20,10,'onchange="addItems(this);"','C'||'#ROWNUM#') "C"
    from empBecause we are in a multi-row environment, we need to pass the line number we are on, into the JavaScript function, hence the use of ‘this’.
    In the JavaScript function, we first need to determine the line number we are on, and then use it to perform the calculation. The code can look similar to the following:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function addItems(pThis) {
      /* extract rownum */
      var line_no = pThis.id.substr(1);
      $x('C'+line_no).value = parseInt($v('A'+line_no)) + parseInt($v('B'+line_no));
    </script>Regards,

    When you run the program, the system displays the following basic list with a the page header defined in the program:
    You can trigger the AT LINE-SELECTION event by double-clicking a line. The system sets the status TEST and deactivates the function code PICK. The status TEST contains function codes FC1 to FC5. These are assigned to pushbuttons in the application toolbar. The page header of the detail list depends on the status.
    Here, double-clicking a line no longer triggers an event. However, there is now an application toolbar containing five user-defined pushbuttons. You can use these to trigger the AT USER-COMMAND event. The CASE statement contains a different reaction for each pushbutton.
    For each interactive event, the system decreases the SY-LSIND system field by one, thus canceling out the automatic increase. All detail lists now have the same level as the basic list and thus overwrite it. While the detail list is being created, SY-LSIND still has the value 1.

  • Set value of hidden database item

    I have a simple non-tabular form for creating rows in a table. I need to set the value of a hidden database item to be the same as a database item which the user enters.
    I know this can be done by a database trigger and also by a custom update process, but is there other (simpler) way to do this ?
    Vincent

    Vincent,
    By "hidden database item", I'm assuming that you mean a column in a table. By "database item which the user enters", I'm assuming that you mean a page item on your form. If that's correct, just edit that item in the builder, making its source type 'Database Column' and its source the column name, and the automatic row fetch and DML processes on the page will take care of the rest. If you mean something else, let us know.

  • Count of Items in BEx Report

    Dear Experts,
    We have a report that contains item level data (multiple records for same item in the report). We would like to see the count of records for these items based on aggregation levels.
    Since the data is on item level, we have same items available in multiple lines that gives me wrong results.
    For e.g, I'd like to see the report that shows the count of items based on some fields like below.
    Region
    Count of Items
    ELAT
    20
    AMEA
    40
    NAM
    38
    So, if I drill down on Sub-region level, I should get the proper count of items as below.
    Region
    Sub region
    Count of Items
    ELAT
    ER1
    10
    ELAT
    ER2
    5
    ELAT
    ER3
    5
    AMEA
    AR1
    40
    NAM
    NR1
    10
    MAN
    NR2
    28
    So, the count is same for the above report with additional drill down on Sub region.
    When I use Exception Aggregation based on reference characteristic, I'm getting results, but, it varies on different aggregation levels (drill downs of other characteristics).
    When I use formula to show '1' for each record, the aggregation shows wrong values, because of multiple records with same item numbers in the report.
    I'm not sure Constant Selection would help me because, these are item level data.
    Any idea on how to achieve this is much appreciated.
    Let me know for any clarifications.

    Hi Yasemin ULUTURK,
    I have a similar requirement in which I need to get a count of RKFs in the report.
    This RKF is a subset of items count that was formulated earlier using your approach.
    Since the count is a formula, I cannot use this for creating an RKF based on it.
    Any idea on how to achieve this is highly helpful.

  • HELP! Need Pricing Report

    I need a report with the following information:
    Material, Material description, marked for deletion flag, List Price, Standard Price (cost)
    Is this something that available in SAP or can I do this report using SQ01, if yes, what tables can I use?
    Please help

    You can create your own pricing reports with the transaction "V/LA".
    The path is IMG-Sales and Distribution-Basic functions-Pricing-Maintain Pricing reports.
    <b>Step 1</b>
    Enter a short text name, consisting of two characters, the first of which must be a letter, and the title of a pricing report that you would like to create. On the next data screen you will see all key fields used in conditions, listed in alphabetical order. Select all key fields that should be taken into consideration in the pricing report.
    <b>Step 2:</b>
    If you choose “Edit -> continue with AND”, all condition tables are evaluated, that contain at least one of the selected key fields. If you choose “Edit -> continue with AND”, all condition tables are evaluated, that contain at least one of the selected key fields. In the next dialog box, mark all condition tables that are to be evaluated.
    <b>Step 3:</b>
    Choose “Continue to list structure” to define the screen structure for the pricing report. Make sure that on the next screen all key fields from the selected tables appear. Fields, that are not used as selection criteria when displaying the list later, can be removed by undoing selection in the “Selection” column. Fields can be marked as obligatory fields on the selection screen. The structure of the pricing reports means that information can be placed in different places in the list. The layout contains the following elements:
    Page Header
    Group Header
    Item
    To execute this report, use the transaction V/LD.
    Path: Logistics-SD-Master Data-Information system-Conditions and Pricing-Pricing reports
    <b>Also, check the existing reports in V/LD like 28/15/17.</b>

  • APEX.ITEM.popupkey_from_query does not populate the correct row

    I have a manual tabular form that contains a popup field. When I click on the popup icon, it displays the popup window. I select the row that I want to populate the field with but it doesn't populate the field correctly. It usually populates the 2nd row but not always.
    I included the form in the Sample Application as page 22 on apex.oracle.com:
    Workspace: RGWORK
    User Name: TESTER
    Password: test123
    Application: Sample Application - 25152 (not Sample Application 20726)
    Page: 22: Advanced Tabular Forms RG
    Pagee 22 has to be run directly.
    I appreciate your assistance.

    Jari,
    While I removed the sort and it worked, I still needed the report sorted by last name. So I created a view of the table sorted by last name and used the view instead of the table in the report (i.e., load collection) and it worked.
