Hide ATV Menu Items

UPDATE: Resolved.

I discovered that it couldn't be done (without jailbreaking) and found that many people had the same problem and had done the same as me (by posting a question). I sent a feedback message back to apple and I figured that eventually apple would take heed to the many others that have the same problem as me.
I followed this discussion because it may come to a useful resolve...
https://discussions.apple.com/message/16975064#16975064
And here is a website that allows the remove-ation of items from an ATV (1st Gen). I suspect it will void warranty though... (scroll down to the post on Tue Aug 26th, 2008)

    We just wanted to know on how to hide/disable menu items for e.g. 'Open' menu item under 'File' menu in Acrobat 9 or later on Mac using Javascript. It would be useful if you could provide if any other option is in place already.

    Not sure it will work, but you can try using the app.hideMenuItem() method. See reference here.

  • Remove or Hide context menu item "Add More Items..."

    Hi,
    I'm trying to edit UserChrome.css to remove or hide the context menu item "Add More Items..." that you find under the sidebar menu.
    Thanks.

    Firefox doesn't come with this item, so it must be added by an extension.
    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
    *Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
    *Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

  • Most ATV Menu items including reset do not respond

    Most items under general settings do not work.  Can not reset, change time, update etc...

    Stephen, Thank you for the quick response!  I  tried resetting it with the down arrow menu command and also tried unplugging it for several minutes.
    It is Really very strange!
    The problem is that under settings - general:
    all the buttons except for the first two (about, Name) do not work at all.
    So it can't be a parental control or any other option issue as none of the buttons work including the reset button.
    Also, it is not a remote issue as I can click on most other buttons and they work just fine.
    Lastly, not sure if it is related...  but Netflix quit working correctly at the same time and will only will play the first two minutes of a movie and then just quits.
    Thanks in advance,
    Devin

  • How to hide/remove a menu item in Acrobat X

    Hi,
    I have a plugin created in acrobat sdk 9, running on acrobat x. I want to hide/remove the "Manage Trusted Identities" menu item, found under "Sign & certify (panel) > more sign & certify menu."
    How can i achieve this using javascript?
    thanks in advance,

    Well, I dont want users to be able to access/modify the trusted identities, so i decided to remove/hide the:
    Acrobat X > "Sign & Certify (panel)" > More sign & certify (i think its a menu) > Manage trusted identities (menu item).
    And can i hide/remove above mentioned item in any way other than javascript, like plugin code?
    Is it in any way possible to prevent user from accessing/modifying the acrobat trusted indentities?
    Thanks.

  • How to hide/show a menu item?

    Hi,
    Pls suggest how to do this:
    There is one book( say "one") and one page (say "two") on the portal, which are displayed to user as menu items.
    The book has two pages ( say 'a' and 'b'), which are shown in the menu dropdown of "one". I want to show the menu item "two" only if the user selects 'a' and hide it when select 'b'.
    meny item 'b' is a page with one portlet.
    Pls suggest.
    thanks

    You can implement this with backing files.
    See http://e-docs.bea.com/wlp/docs81/ipcguide/backing.html for further details.

  • Hide menu items like you can in Acrobat?

    When creating PDFs in Adobe Acrobat, you can set some ViewerPreferences:
    * Hide Menubar
    * Hide Toolbars
    * Hide Window Controls
    These settings can be set via "Document Properties" => "Initial View" => "User Interface Options"
    I can't find these in LiveCycle Designer. How can I change these? I'm lousy at scripting, so if anyone has an sample, that would be invaluable.

    Hi,
    I have a form here: http://assurehsc.ie/blog/index.php/2010/05/script-to-access-acrobat-menu-items/  There is a link to the PDF in the post.
    This shows the execMenuItem()'s that are available to you. Not all of these are exposed due to security issues.
    Some of these may help you.

  • HIDE FORM EXTENSIONS ITEM FROM TOOLS MENU

    HI
    can any one let me how to hide Form Extensions menu item from Tools Menu.
    Disabling is possible but i could not able to hide it completely, i mean making it not to visible/appear.
    Thank You!!!

    I'm not familiar with the 'Form Extensions' menu item but have you tried using the CUSTOM.pll and set_menu_item_property(menu_option_id,DISPLAYED, PROPERTY_OFF);
    You should be able to do it with forms personalizations but I'm afraid I don't know the steps for that.

  • Hide the delete menu item from a specific document library

    I want to hide the Delete  item menu option for a specific document library.Since it is for a specific library I would not like to use customcore.js approach.Please suggest some useful javascript for same.
    I have a custom delete action associated with the menu which performs other function as well so need to hide the OOB delete option from the item  menu of a document library.
    I have already used below javascript in CEWP which I added on the document library page itself(allitems.aspx) but yeild no results:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var elemTable=document.getElementById('ECBItems');
    if (elemTable !=null) {
         var elemTBody=elemTable.childNodes[0];
    //iterate each table row to find the correct ECB menu item to hide(remove)
       for (var iMenuItem=0; iMenuItem < elemTBody.childNodes.length; iMenuItem++) {
             var elemTR=elemTBody.childNodes[iMenuItem];
             var elemTDTitle=elemTR.childNodes[0];
             var title=GetInnerText(elemTDTitle);
     //here we filter on title, but the table contains more information if need be
            if(title =='Delete') {
                 elemTBody.removeChild(elemTR);
    </script>
    Please suggest which can be kept specific and requires no change in masterpage as same masterpage is used across the site.

  • How can I hide a menu options programatically in Forms 6i?

    Hi folks:
    I am using a customized menu. Called AEMS001. I have four options: File, Maintenance, Operations, Administration.
    Inside Maintenance, I have 15 different options and I need to hide five of them (Fees, Documents, Legal, Recors, Others) depending of the user role assined.
    How can I do that?
    I try to use set_menu_item_property('FEES', Visible, property_false)
    but it give me an error: FRM-41067: Cannot find menu item: invalid Id
    What do I did wrong?
    thanks a lot.
    Abdel

    hi,
    it might be that there is an initialization error in your code...
    try something like this (you can use visible or enable property).
    tell me your email and i will send you sample form and menu with the following code ...
    declare
    menu_item_name     varchar2(40) := 'MENU2.ITEM23';
    menu_item_id     MenuItem;
    begin
    menu_item_id := find_menu_item(menu_item_name);
    /*if (not id_null(menu_item_id)) then
    if (GET_MENU_ITEM_PROPERTY(MENU_ITEM_NAME, visible)='TRUE') then
         set_menu_item_property(menu_item_id, visible, property_false);
    else
         set_menu_item_property(menu_item_id, visible, property_true);
    end if;
    else
    message(' cannot find menu item!');
         raise form_trigger_failure;
    end if;
    if (not id_null(menu_item_id)) then
    if (GET_MENU_ITEM_PROPERTY(MENU_ITEM_NAME, enabled)='TRUE') then
         set_menu_item_property(menu_item_id, enabled, property_false);
    else
         set_menu_item_property(menu_item_id, enabled, property_true);
    end if;
    else
         message(' cannot find menu item!');
         raise form_trigger_failure;
    end if;
    end;

  • Alt+mnemonic key is not working properly for Menu Items

    Assume there are two menus , File Menu with mnemonic Alt+F
    and Save Menu with mnemonic Alt+S. File Menu contains the
    menu items like PageSetup with Mnemonic S. Save menu has
    the menu item Properties with Mnemonic P.
    Pressing Alt+F opens the File Menu which has the menu item
    PageSetup.Pressing S activates the PageSetup menu item.
    Similarly Pressing Alt+S opens the Save Menu which has the
    menu item Properties. Pressing P activates the Properties
    menu item acion. But Pressing Alt+P also activates the
    Properties menu item action(it is not the desired behaviour)
    Pressing Alt+Mnemonic key has to open only the Menus.It
    should not consider the menu items.
    STEPS TO FOLLOW TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM :
    1.Press Alt+F
    2.File Menu is invoked
    3.Press S
    4. Invokes the menu item action
    5. Press Alt+S
    6. Save menu is invoked
    7. Press P
    8. Invokes the menu item action
    9. Press Alt+P
    10. Invokes the menu item action
    EXPECTED VERSUS ACTUAL BEHAVIOR :
    Pressing of Alt+Mnemonic key invokes the menu and also menu
    item actions. If the same mnemonic is present in the Menu
    it is giving the priority to Menu only.Pressing of Alt key
    alone does not hiding the pull down menu
    Expected Result;
    Pressing of Alt+Mnemonic key has to list out the pull
    down menu only.It should not consider the menu items with
    the same mnemonic. If Alt key alone is pressed the pull
    down menu has to hide.
    REPRODUCIBILITY :
    This bug can be reproduced always.

  • I just downloaded Firefox 4 and it does NOT look like it is supposed to look - My menu items are not in a single button, etc... as displayed in Step 2 of getting to know your browser on the welcome page for Mozilla Firefox 4. Can anyone help?

    This webpage [http://example.com http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/central/ ]shows what Firefox 4 should look like. My Firefox 4 does not have the menu items grouped and I have no app tab. All in all, my Firefox 4 is not what it should be... does anyone know why this might be and how I should go about fixing it? thanks :)

    To get the new UI you need to hide the menu bar. To do that in the View menu select Toolbars, then click on the "Menu Bar" entry.
    If you need access to the menus you can press either Alt or F10 to temporarily display them.
