Hide eml file attachments in Convergence

Hello,
Is there a way to hide eml file attachments in Convergence? It already displays the contents of the eml inline so there is no need for the attachement
Also, in Communications Express it currently does this

a) Create <app_server_base>/domains/domain1/docroot/iwc_static/c11n/allDomain/js/widget/MailMessageViewer.js containing:
dojo.provide("c11n.allDomain.js.widget.MailMessageViewer");
dojo.require("iwc.widget.MailMessageViewer");
dojo.declare("iwc.widget.MailMessageViewer", iwc.widget.MailMessageViewer, {
        _renderAttachments: function() {
                console.debug("c11n: Stop message/rfc822 attachments from showing in the attachment pane");
                var attachments=this._msg.getAttachments(true);
                if(attachments.length == 0) {
                        return '';
                dojo.forEach(attachments, function(a) {
                        if(a._notDisplayed) {
                                return;
                        // Stop message/rfc822 MIME type attachments from displaying in the attachment pane
                        if (!a._notDownloadable && (a.getType() + "/" + a.getSubtype() != "message/rfc822")) {
                                var w = new iwc.widget.MailAttachment({
                                        part: a,
                                        truncateFileNames: this.truncateFileNames,
                                        isInPrintMode: this.isInPrintMode
                                this.attachmentList.appendChild(w.domNode);
                                this._attachmentWidgets.push(w);
                }, this);
                dojo.toggleClass(this.attachmentPane, 'iwcHide', (this._attachmentWidgets.length == 0));
        last: ""
});b) Add the following line to customize.js to apply the above customisation:
// Stop message/rfc822 attachments from showing in the attachment pane
dojo.require("c11n.allDomain.js.widget.MailMessageViewer");c) Clear the browser cache, and log into Convergence.
You can see the original "_renderAttachments" function which the above code replaces in <app_server_base>/domains/domain1/docroot/iwc_static/js/debug/iwc/widget/MailMessageViewer.js

Shane.

  • Mail 6.2 won't open .eml files

    Hi
    I'm running Mail.app ver 6.2 in OSX 10.8.2 with all the latest upgrades (23 Nov 2012). I'm having an issue opening .eml files/attachments in my mail.app (in OSX, not iOS).
    It's my understanding that mail.app has full support for .eml files and I used to open them with no problems before the upgrade to Mountain Lion. When I click to open the files, it displays the envelope animation like if it's going to open it but the window never appears. The only option is to use preview, and that works perfectly, buf if the .eml file has attachments "inside" of it, I can't open them using preview.
    There is no error log.
    What might be the problem?
    I've done permitions repair a couple of times.
    The only addons I have installed on mail.app 6.2 are attachment tammer and mailhub.

    This discussion suggests a solution.

  • Exchange 2013 - Attachments in *.EML files missing in non-cached mode

    Hello
    Our client recently upgraded from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013. Since the migration they have had issues with an archiving system they use. Bascially the archiving system creates .eml files of journaled emails.
    The issue our client has is when Outlook is running in non-cached exchange mode any attachments within these .eml files are missing when the eml file is opened. If they change to cached mode the attachments show up fine.
    It's almost identical to the following issue I found while browsing the net:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/b9a390a9-e014-4098-ad6e-dd377a53422a/office-2010-exchange-2010-attachments-in-emlemails-are-invisible?forum=outlook
    Aside from the Exchange version this is exactly what is happening for our client. Is anyone aware of whether the same issue fixed in Rollup update 5 for Exch 2010 SP1 is still present in Exchange 2013?
    Our client has already said they don't want everyone using cached exchange so I can't tell them that. Is there a way to manually fix the issue or are we going to have to move back to Exchange 2010 while a patch is sent out? Does anyone know exactly what
    the issue is?
    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    I know there was this issue with Exchange 2010, but haven't noticed the same issue in Exchange 2013. The suggestion would be to keep Exchange fully updated - It seems you have done so.
    I'm not sure when SP1 will be released, you may post this question to Exchange forum since it may be more related:

    Windows Computer

    1) If you are talking about the file names on the computer, there is a
    setting to turn off known file types. Open your file browser. Then
    just under the location bar, press '''Tools,''' then '''Folder Options.'''
    A new window will open. Select '''View.''' Look for
    '''Hide Extensions For Known File Types.'''
    2) Never NEVER '''NEVER''' download anything unless you know what
    it is. If a web site claims it needs to download something, what is it?
    It could be something like the flash player, '''or a virus ! !'''

  • Import .eml files to Mail

    I have a folder on my Mac with about 100 .eml files, which were dragged and dropped out of Microsoft Entourage a few months ago.
    Is there way to import this whole folder and its .eml files into a mailbox inside Apple Mail?
    I can do it one by one by opening a single .eml file in Mail and moving it to the mailbox: Message menu -> Move To -> [Mailbox]
    However I would like to do this in one go.  I tried EmailConverterLite from the App Store, and while it works quite well, imported messages do NOT have a paperclip symbol if they have attachments.  This is a real pain as you would have to look through all messages to find messages with attachments.
    Any ideas would be great.
    Thank you.

  • Can't read attached .eml files after update to 10.2.0.429

    Hello all
    we have 2 z10 in office. I did the upgrade first, and since them MOST (not all) af the regular mail with attached .eml files we receive from a governmental source cannot open (to be clear, those are regular mails containing another mail as attachment)
    It shows the regular orange "envelope" icon, but when you click on it, the screen darken for a moment, and nothing happens.
    The other Z10 (same serie) went on for more than a month to open with not problems all of the VERY SAME mail and their attachments.
    Now, after updating the 2nd device, the same problems occurs to it.
    Any clue? Those attachment are really important for us
    Thanks in advance for any help

    Can you please tell me where you found a previous version of iCloud to download? I can not find a download that doesn't want to download a zillion other programs too
    I also wanted to confirm with you that I have to first delete the new version of iCloud before I install the older version, correct?
    Lastly, is there anything else I have to do other than delete the old and install the new? I'm not at all tech savy but desperate to have my phone and pc calendars sync again so I'm willing to try.....
    Thanks in advance for your help (it likely means I won't forget when my son's football practices ends again!).

  • Index Email ".eml" files

    I'm working on a solution that includes document management. Our search uses Oracle Text. The issue we just ran into is that .eml file exported from Thunderbird and uploaded are not indexed. The body of the email is HTML, and if I upload an html version of the same file, everything works fine. Is there an easy solution to this? Here's my index DDL:
    create index foo_ctx_idx on foo (contents)
      indextype is ctxsys.context
      parameters ('memory 2M sync(on commit) filter ctxsys.auto_filter')
    /If anyone on the Oracle Text team wants to get involved, look me up on people and drop me an email as this project is pretty far along and has a lot of Text potential.

    Not based on file type (or extension - not that that means anything when it's stored in a blob).
    But if you have control of the loading process you can use a format column to define whether it should be treated as binary or plain text. Beware of attachments, though - if you index a .eml file with encoded attachments you'll get huge amounts of garbage in your index.
    The other option is to use a procedure_filter - then you can check by looking at the first couple of lines whether it's an email or some other document, and then call the appropriate filter via ctx_doc.policy_filter.

  • Missing file attachments

    I've been working on a newsletter generation tool at work. Last week, I added a feature to embed images into email. Since then, PDF attachments do not appear on the iPhone or Apple Mail on Snow Leopard. I've noticed a long standing list of reports related to this on the Mac. Supporting iPhones and iPads is a requirement for this application, but I also am required to attach the images for a large client.
    Does anyone have any ideas on how to get both images "inline" and files as "attachment" working on the iPhone. Most of the PDFs are around 300KB.
    In Mail on a Mac, I even see the correct count for the number of attachments by the paperclip, but not file. On my iPhone, I see a paperclip, but no file attachment.

    Well...I get that, but that's only part of the issue.
    The attachments are not even displaying on the iPad or iPhone.  Normally, an unsupported file will come over and you click it and it says it's not supported.
    .eml files don't even show up.  I just tested this by sending phony .junk and .zwr attachments and the files are on the iOS device, just can't open them.
    Why is this important you ask?  Because as I said, there are 3rd party apps I can load to read a .eml file.  But if the attachments are even getting to the devices, the app is useless.
    Does that make sense?

  • Mail: opening an eml file by thunderbird takes too much time

    We are storing emails as eml files in a network folder. When we then open those eml files it takes a lot of time, sometimes 20 seconds. This happens also if the file does not contain attachments. I have looked at those files with an editor. The files are quite short and simple. Nevertheless it takes a lot of tme.
    Thunderbird starts quickly. But showing the mail body (sometimes only 2 lines) takes so much time.
    Any help or explanations?
    Best regards
    Guenter Merbeth

    I understand now.
    I would store the EML files locally and compare loading time. Then it becomes a matter of finding where your bottleneck is: network configuration, link speed (Wifi? LAN?), protocols (Samba/CIFS? NFS?..), etc. (compression, encryption,..).
    This is outside of the scope of Thunderbird support, but I am definitely interested in knowing how opening an EML file locally compares to opening the same on your network. If anything, it will at least rule out (or implicate) Thunderbird as the cause.

  • I can't open two eml files with Thunderbid

    I want to open two .eml files with Thunderbid. When I try to do it, I can open the first, but when I try to open the second Thunderbird doesn't do it.

    It sounds like the files that aren't working are likely corrupt or perhaps not properly designated as .eml files. When you say "Thunderbird doesn't do it" do you mean Thunderbird doesn't launch, or do you mean it tries to open the file and returns an error? The error could be helpful in the latter case, as could information about where the file came from. In the former case, FYI, when I drag attached .eml files (from e-mails forwarded as attachments) to my desktop, they are named "Inbox" (as opposed to Inbox.eml). I rename them to add the .eml and then I can open them with Thunderbird, but otherwise I will be prompted by Windows for what to do with them.

  • Can I save an email message as .eml file and open it using outlook?

    Hi all,
    I use the following codes to save the received email message as .eml files:
    Session session = (Session)map.get("CURRENT_SESSION");
    //InputStream is = msg.getInputStream();
    MimeMessage mm = new MimeMessage(session, msg.getInputStream());

    String fileName = AttachmentProcess.getInstance().getFileName(attachmentId);
    mm.saveChanges();
    mm.writeTo(new FileOutputStream(new File(filePath, fileName)));
    But when I open it using window live mail, its content looks like this:

    Can anybody help me ?

    This works now by coping all headers to the new MimeMessage from the coming message.
    But one issue occurs when the email contains attachments.Because all attachment will be display on the email body.
    What happens?

  • Windows 7 Pro/Outlook 2007/SharePoint Foundation 2007? .eml files open as attachment in outlook

    Here is the issue.
    I am running Windows 7 Pro with Office 2007.
    I attempt to open an email from sharepoint.  The email becomes an attachment to a new mail message from outlook 2007.
    When I attempt to open the same email from command line, it opens correctly.
    I have checked registry entries, and they all seem to point to the right places.
    I have set Outlook as the default E-mail program, as well as assigned the .eml files as defaulting to outlook.
    I have ran the microsoft fix, and manually implemented the fix after it didn't work, both to no avail.
    I need a solution for this, I can't believe Microsoft would have such an issue with compatibility with their own programs.
    If anyone has some insight, it is welcomed with open arms.
    I am unsure which forum to place this topic, since it covers so many microsoft issues/programs, so if this is located in the wrong place, please move it for me.
    I thank you all in advance for your assistance in this matter.

  • Why does Print Preview of a .eml file recursively open the same .eml file? I can't print it.

    Hello. I saved an email from my IMAP account locally to file as offlineemail.eml. When I try to open the .eml file later in Thunderbird, it opens up ok, no problem. When I do Print Preview just before sending it to my printer, two windows pop up. In the background is the first window, the Preview itself. However, it only shows "about:blank" in the Preview body. In the foreground, a window with Title: Opening offlineemail.eml. Body: You have chosen to open: offlineemail.eml which is: eml document (27.9 KB) from: /tmp. What should Thunderbird do with this file? [Radio button] Open with [dropdown] Thunderbird (default); [Radio button] Save file; [Checkbox unchecked] Do this automatically for files like this from now on. [Push buttons] Cancel Ok. The Ok button remains greyed out until I click one of the radio buttons. I click Open with Thunderbird, the Ok button is now active, and I click Ok. Here, the same email opens up just fine again in a separate Thunderbird window. I do a Print Preview, and this whole paragraph of steps is repeated. I never see the preview. Any ideas why this would be? My Thunderbird version: 31.3.0. My OS: linux openSUSE 13.1"Bottle". File manager: Thunar 1.6.3 for the XFCE desktop.
