Hide or destroy NonModalExternal Window

Hi,
I want to print the content of a popup window with the web dynpro print functionality. For this I created a non modal external window as an intermediate window for keeping the content. On the wdDoinit method of this external window view I am triggering the print functionality, that opens the print preview of this external window.
After printing the view, have to close the print preview screen and the intermediate external window.
How can I hide or destroy the intermediate external window, so that the user have to close only the print preview screen and go back to the real application.
I tried to assign the window as a context variable to component controller and tried to hide this variable in wdDoInit of the external window. But its throwing me Null.PointerException. So I am not able to store the window variable in the context.
please help me regarding this issue,

Thanks for this information.
I know that it is not possible to print the content of a popup window. The usage of non external window is a workaroung for this issue.
My problem in this case is,I am creating and showing the non modal external window from the "onactionprint" method of the popup view. The content of the popup window will be mapped with the ContextMapper class that I found on the blog here:
On the external window view, I am triggering the print functionality in wdDoInit of the external window view, which opens the print preview of this external window view. In this case after clicking on the print button of the popup windows, two separate windows will be openned (external window and print preview of external window). I want to hide or destroy the external window in the wdDoInit of the external window view.
The Mapping of the IWDWindow variable between popup view and external window view over component controller is not working. While destroying the external window I get Null.pointer exception, because the mapping of the created nonmodal external window between popup view and external window view is not working.
Is it also not possible to map an external window between two different views?

How to communicate with HID USB device under windows XP with Labview

I have designed a EZ-USB FX2 device and I need to communicate with LabVIEW. I mean I just want to send and receive data. I don’t know how to achieve this goal.Someone have advised me to design a HID device,then use VISA Driver Development Wizards to generate driver(inf file).SO I defined it to a hid device .However when I connect my hid device to the computer, it will automatically be recognized as HID compliance device. I can’t to install the inf file driver. I wondered whether all HID devices will be acquiescently installed the drivers contained in the windows rather than use the inf file driver generated by VISA Driver Development Wizards? If so，what should I do next to communicate with HID USB device under windows XP with Labview? HOPE TO GET HELP!

Hi,
I am working on a project using PIC18F4550 MCU and USB.
I would need to send and receive data from the MCU thru USB. I have uninstaled the HID and created a new NI-VISA driver for my MCU. this worked fine, and it did showed up in MAX
Unfortunately I was not able to receive data from the MCU, Just sending!
I thought to use HID.DLL but the way I need to use the functions inside the HID DLL is simply too much for me, I am not a PC programmer.
There is any kind of VI that is able to use HID.DLL to comunicate with external devices conected to PC thru USB?

I actually have the splash screen vi's that you are talking about and that is what I based mine on. It is nice to have that code to see how others would do it. So thanks Mark for the push in the right direction on this.
OK- so another method that we tossed about. was to place a simple vi AS main with a FP that "Looked" like a splash screen. use THAT vi to dynamically load and run the real main vi for the application with a vi server ref (wait for completion F auto dispose T) and then close itself after a delay. We debated that the method was "cheesy" and required a dynamic call to the real top level VI so it was easy to botch the build spec. but we did try it and it hid the Loading screen effectively

Mac OS X 10.10 : After Effect hides when clicking other windows.

Hello, I'm having an issue with After Effect CC. When clicking on other windows like apps and or desktop or finder windows After Effect will hide I was wondering if this was normal this was not happing when I was using After Effect CS6 and only happen since using CC is there away to fix this or is it normal for After Effect CC to hide when using other windows and or apps ?

No, it does not happen to any of my other apps on my mac and it does not happen with any other Adobe software like Photoshop, Premiere pro and illustrator. This issue only happens with After Effect CC (this also did not happen when I was using CS6 only since I upgraded to CC (and this problem has been happing before the new mac update to 10.10))

Hide the database connection window when load a report in a viewer control

When I load a report in viewer and the datasource is empty always appears a window for connect to database. How I can hide ALWAYS that window. Is possible? I did see some ways for do it, at before versions of CR, but seems don´t works in last version of Crystal Reports for .NET.
Anyway, is possible show a default text in viewer for information to user than don´t exists data?

In the empty datas the prompt dialog appears. The XML is different depend of context from application.
When I have the XML then load it in a DataSet object, and call the SetDataSource method from ReportDocument. In that moment ReportDocument don´t have any information over his state? Exists some way for know if will need extra information from user through the prompt dialog? In that case I could load another report with "NO DATA" text, but I don´t have info.
For example, is possible override the behavior from Crystal report viewer for show a different window? I did see events but nobody works for me.

ITunes 10.5.0.142 prevents 'auto-hide' task bar reappearing on scroll-over at page bottom when ITunes home page is up. Task bar appears and hides fine on other windows. OS: Win 7.

In Windows 7 my latest ITunes version won't let the 'autohide' feature work for my task bar. I have mine set at the bottom of all pages, and they all work when the Itunes page is up. But not the ITunes home page itself. The task bar is gone, and won't appear on scroll-over.
Look, I'm not going to kill myself over it. I just have to minimize the IT page to get to another task bar.
But I like my auto-hide and won't disable it, and I like what's been done with the new version of IT and - of course - won't get rid of that. I just want them to live together happily ever after.

It is not entirely clear to me what you are trying to configure.
in general 'hiding the SSID' of a wireless network is configuring the access point to not broadcast it's name, so it remains hidden for most users.
If you are using the builtin 'Hosted network' functionality to turn you windows pc in a virtual access point, you cannot configure these kind of details.
if you are using a third party software to do this, you shoyuld refer to the software manual/vendor or developer.
If you are using a hardware access point, refer to the documentation/vendor for assistance.

Quicktime Player - how to hide the transport mini window ?

some of my animations are titles- when I double click them the FF/Play/RW controls mini window obscures a large amount of the window

this is not currently possible. the best you can do is reduce the time delay before the controls fade out. to do that quit QT player and run the following terminal command
defaults write com.apple.QuickTimePlayerX MGUIVisibilityTimeout 1
this will shorten the fade out delay to 1 second. also, the following command will make them never appear after you start playing the movie and they disappear the first time.
defaults write com.apple.QuickTimePlayerX MGUIVisibilityNeverAutoshow 1

Be advised that this solution will also exit the form without saving the changes and asking anything if the user did make changes.
You're probably changing some field from a PL/SQL trigger (hint: post-query or when-new-record-instance are likely). If you set the value of a field from a trigger or program unit that also marks the record as changed for Forms. Forms will then ask to save the changes when exiting the form.
If you want to prevent this, reset the record status after you change the field in the PL/SQL code.

I would say use a native installer if possible. Install4J is a very reasonable price, $400 or something and works on windows, mac osx and solaris/linux, provides native launchers on all platforms and can do quite a bit more than that. Very small price to pay if you are working with commercial apps or have a little money to spare and want your apps looking good.
VAInstall I think is a free opensource that does alright, a bit more complex to use, but works. I think it has an .exe launcher on windows.

Hi I Just Installed Windows 7 and Want to hide other user accounts on Windows 7 64 and actually Windows Vista so the only Account showing is mine how do I do This, am I right in thinking it has to be done through the registry;

The following will work for a computer in a workgroup (using the welcome page).
For Windows 7 Enterprise (maybe others) you will also need to add a second key below SpecialAccounts called "UserList". Put all the accounts in that subkey.
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList
I have confirmed this to work on a fresh installation with multiple user accounts and not joined to a domain. I have also confirmed this on my Windows 7 Ultimate computer I use at home. I use the hidden (but not disabled) accounts to provide share access in
a workgroup environment, so I don't want to see them on the logon page. I think the proper workaround for share access is using homegroups instead, but I don't think it provides enough granularity for me.

So now that I have done this, I cannot logon to the machine with those accounts anymore or use the admin priviledges for them. I thought it would just hide the accounts. The problem is, I 'hid' all admin accounts, but thought like old versions
of windows that you would be able to CTRL-ALT-DELETE on the login screen to type the username and password, but I can't get it to work!.
How do I login once I have put in users int he UserList key?. I can't get back into the regedit because I don't have any other admin accounts. :(

If you would like to unhide the hidden Administrator account on Windows 7
Operating System , here's how you can do it:
1.Boot Win 7 DVD,go to command prompt and type regedit -it
2.Click on HKLM hive and next navigate File>>Load hive
Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\config folder and choose
SOFTWARE file load it and assign this hive any name for example REM_SOFTWARE
3.Open key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\REM_SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList
and remove this account or better way remove the whole key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\REM_SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts
