Hide p_arg_values after procedure call

I need to hide a value in my address bar from users after they submit a form.
I have a form that is calling a procedure that builds a page. Currently, when the page is built, the resulting url includes... "p_arg_names=MFG_ID&p_arg_values=2". I want to hide this information so the user cannot just put 1 in for the value and rerun the procedure.
How can I accomplish this?
Thanks in advance,
Brian

I would like to thank all of you for your assistance in this manner.
If anyone is interested, I have forced the procedure to perform an internal security check, so this is no longer an issue for me.

  • Hiding button after successfull call to databse procedure

    Hi,
    This is my first post and my first APEX app.
    I have a submit button that calls a database procedure passing parameters from the form.
    The procedure then updates the database record and the page shows the update which means its successfull.
    However the user can press the button again.
    I do not want the user to press the button again, so i want to hide it after successful completion of the databse procedure.
    I tried using Dynamic action and hide it that way by comparing the value that was updated by the database (P1_STATUS) and the
    value that the user wanted it updating to (passed as a parameter to db procedure P1_PARAM) but it does not work for the button for some reason.
    Is there a way round this by using javascript/apex computations etc.
    Any help would be appreciated or if you could point me in the right direction
    Thank you

    You can also hide it with javascript:
    onclick="$x_Hide(this);"However that will hide it at the outset and not when the DB procedure finishes. Don't know if that would be a functional problem for you or not. The advantage is that it will hide immediately so the user cannot press it again while the DB procedure is going.

  • How to hide or do not show the receipt's name after miss called?

    1. How to hide or do not show the receipt's name after miss called?
    2. I do not want to show my message statement in the screen.

    I have also registered to this forum to inform that the problem with showing the MAC-address in the sidebar of the finder is still not solved.
    The strange thing is that the Embedded Web Server says:
    "This specifies the Bonjour domain name assigned to the device, in the form <host name>.local. If a user-specified host name has not been assigned, the default host name HPxxxxxx is used, where xxxxxx are the last 6 digits of the LAN hardware (MAC) address. This option cannot be modified."
    But I did assign a user-specified host name and that name does show-up everywere (also within Bonjour), except in the sidebar of the finder (hp###xx##x####). Lots of people have the same issue, when searching on the interet, but not one has found the solution.
    Please help with solving this issues?

  • Remote procedure call failed and did not execute response after changing contents

    Hey Hey!
    I have reviewed the other posts related to this issue but have not found a solution.
    I have done myself quite a mischief and hope someone here can help me out!
    I'm running an old ACER laptop with Windows 7. This PC belonged to an old colleague and therefore all of the folders and user names were still under his name, so I decided to try to change them all to my name. The main issue was the USER folder which had
    the locked symbol next to it but it wasn't locked at all. I googled how to delete this folder and one bright spark suggested I create a new folder with my name, copy all of the folders from the other 'locked' user's folder into my folder, and then delete the
    old user's folder.
    That was fine. All seemed well. When I tried to delete the old folder the computer sat around thinking saying it was 'moving' but not doing anything. So, I cancelled the operation in the Task Manager. When I attempted to open any folder from the start menu
    or desktop or task bar I was presented with a bunch of numbers and letters and the message "REMOTE PROCEDURE CALL FAILED AND DID NOT EXECUTE."
    I quickly googled the message realising I'd made a major error and the first response was to type in services.msc or something to that effect, so I typed that into the Start Menu search bar and hit enter and nothing came up. So, I tried again, but now I
    couldn't type anything into the search bar, I could not even select any programs from the Start Menu.
    So, I can't access the Start Menu, search bar, or any of the folders unless I open uTorrent, select open containing folder, and from there I can access what I need.
    I'm too afraid to reboot the PC. I can't locate my copy of Windows 7 anywhere. I'm freaking out!!
    Before I pour my lowly student wage into getting a professional to fix it, could someone please offer some suggestions??
    Greatly appreciated in advance.

  • Error 'ORA-01403 no data found', if a procedure called through $Universe

    Hello,
    we use at our customer the scheduling software $Universe. The problem follows is happend at calling PL/SQL-procedures within SQL*Plus:
    Within the calling procedur another subprogram will be called. This program crashed on select of currval with the error 'ORA-01403 no data found'. This error happens only, if the procedure called through $Universe. If the procedure called directly from SQL*Plus or about a unix shell-script, no error happens.
    About the command "select saddr,sid,serial# from sys.V_$SESSION where

    Hi,
    Please try to remove the Water mark and Action keys under
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Exchangeserver\V14\MailboxRole
    After that, reboot the server and rerun the set up.
    This issue due to Exchange failed set up was trying to resume the previously failed setup rather than starting completely over.

  • JDBC callableStatement stored procedure call cancellation?

    up vote0down votefavorite
    I have a very complex oracle stored procedure that searches and retrieves some data. The procedure returns an output parameter - an oracle cursor. I execute the procedure by JDBC:
    CallableStatement stmt = conn.prepareCall("{call myprocedure(?,?,?,?}");
    The problem is, the queries can sometimes take quite long (few minutes) and i would like user to be able to cancel the query anytime by clicking button. I have reference to stmt object, but unfortunatelly calling stmt.cancel() (from other thread) has NO EFFECT.
    On the other hand when i change the CallableStatement sql to some query like:
    CallableStatement stmt = conn.prepareCall("select * from all_objects");
    i get "java.sql.SQLTimeoutException: ORA-01013: user requested cancel of current operation" after calling stmt.cancel() - so thats the right reaction.
    Does that mean than i cannot cancel stored procedure call via jdbc, but only simple select statements? Does anyone else had and resolved similar problem?
    I guess i could cancel the query by oracle kill session, but i use connection pooling (jboss) and i have plenty of sessions for the same user existing.
    Database Product Version is Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.4.0 - 64bit Production JDBC Driver Version is 11.2.0.4.0
    any help will be appreciated.

    This property didnt help, still no reaction after statement.cancel().
    I could not cancel the statment from the db size , so i decided to spawn new java thread and run the statement in that thread, and when user clicks cancel button i just cancel the thread, some snipper of code below:
                   AtomicBoolean userCanceled - this must be AtomicBoolean or  volatile variable, so other threads would see the change of variable after clicking button
                   try{
                    MyCallableQuery callable = new MyCallableQuery(rs,stmt,this,rsh,outParameter);
                    FutureTask<T> queryTask = new FutureTask<T>(callable);
                    ExecutorService executor = Executors.newFixedThreadPool(1);
                    executor.execute(queryTask);
                    while  (!queryTask.isDone()){         //stil processing statement
                     Thread.sleep(100);
                          if (userCanceled)){               //user decided to cancel

                           executor.shutdown();
                           throw new SQLException("User decided to cancel procedure call");
                     result = futureTask1.get();
                     //here the code after the resultset has been processed without cancelation
                   catch (SQLException e}{
                   //here the code when user decided to cancel  like clearing the datatable
    and my callable class is like:
    public class MyCallable<T> extends ProcRunner implements Callable<T> {
        private ResultSet rs;
        private CallableStatement stmt;
        private ProcRunner procRunner;
        private ResultSetHandler<T> rsh;

            this.stmt = stmt;
            this.procRunner = procRunner;

            this.outParameter = outParameter;
        @Override

           T result = null;

  • WCF OData Service stored procedure call generates "Operation could destabilize the runtime" error with $select option

    I've been trying to call a stored procedure through Entity Framework and WCF Data Services (OData). It returns an entity not a complex type. Following walkthroughs found all over the web, I came up with this code inside my service:
    [WebGet]
    public IQueryable<Entity> GetEntitiesByParameterId(int parameterId)
    return CurrentDataSource.GetEntitiesByParameterId(parameterId).AsQueryable();
    Calling the proc this way: ~WcfService.svc/GetEntitiesByParameterId?parameterId=1 executes
    the stored procedure and returns entities that should be returned. No problem there.
    Everything works well until I try to use $select OData option ie. ~WcfService.svc/GetEntitiesByParameterId?parameterId=1&$select=name.
    Upon debugging, the method above runs without any error but it returns an Operation could destabilize the runtime error upon reaching the
    client. After so much research, apparently it is a very general error pointing to a lot of different causes. I haven't found one that really matches my particular problem. Closest are
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/378895/operation-could-destabilize-the-runtime
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/d2fb4767-dc09-4879-a62a-5b2ce96c4465/for-some-columns-entity-properties-executestorequery-failed-with-error-operation-could?forum=adodotnetdataservices
    but none of the solutions worked on my end.
    Also, from the second article above:
    This is a known limitation of WCF DS. ...
    Second is that some of the queries won't work correctly because LINQ to EF needs little different LINQ expressions than LINQ to Objects in some cases. Which is the problem you're seeing.
    It has been posted on 2012. If it its true, are there still no updates on this? And is there any other workaround to get the $select working on the stored proc call?
    What works:
    ~WcfService.svc/GetEntitiesByParameterId?parameterId=1
    ~WcfService.svc/GetEntitiesByParameterId?parameterId=1&$top=1
    ~WcfService.svc/GetEntitiesByParameterId?parameterId=1&$skip-5
    ~WcfService.svc/GetEntitiesByParameterId?parameterId=1&$filter={filter query}
    ~WcfService.svc/GetEntitiesByParameterId?parameterId=1&$expand=SomeNavigationProperty
    What doesn't work:
    ~WcfService.svc/GetEntitiesByParameterId?parameterId=1&$select=name
    Tech details:
    EntityFramework 5, WCF Data Service 5.0, OData V3
    *I've also tried upgrading to EF6 and WCF 5.6.2 and it still didn't work.
    Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Someone from SO replied to my question there and said that $select is still not supported though I couldn't find any definitive documentation about it.
    From what I gather and observed, $select breaks the stored procedure call because it tries to alter the data shape already gotten from the database and attempts to return a dynamic entity instead. Something about the stored proc returning an ObjectResult might
    be messing it up. As I have said, these are merely my observations.
    Workaround: I found a simple and elegant workaround for it though. Since my stored procedures are only getting data from the database and does
    not alter data in any way (INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE), I tried using table-valued functions that returns a table equivalent to the entity on my EF. I've found that calling this function on the Service Operation method returns an IQueryable<Entity> which
    is basically what is needed. $select also works now and so does other OData query options.
    Steps:
    Create a function on the database
    Update EDMX -> Add function
    Add new Function Import with Entity return type
    Create service operation in WCF Data Service that calls CurrentDataSource.<FunctionName>()
    Test in fiddler.
    CODES
    Database Function:
    CREATE FUNCTION GetEntities(@parameter)
    RETURN @entites TABLE(
    [Id] [int],
    [Name] [nvarchar](100),
    AS
    BEGIN
    INSERT INTO @entities
    SELECT [Id], [Name], ... FROM [EntityTable]
    RETURN
    END
    WCF:
    [WebGet]
    public IQueryable<Entity> GetEntity(int parameter)
    return CurrentDataSource.GetEntity(parameter);
    It doesn't really solve the stored procedure problem but I'm marking this as answer until someone can provide a better one as it does solve what I'm trying to do.
    Hope this helps others too. :)

  • Database connection pooling in ADF causing db procedure calls to use different transaction or session

    We have developed an application using JDev Version 11.1.2.1.0 and the database is oracle 11g EE.
    We have many database procedures or function calls from the model (AMImpl.java, VORowImpl.java) and the commit does not happen in the database and it happens from ADF. The database procedures are called in some valueChangeListnener and these procedures use the same transaction or session database session when called and update some records in some tables that are displayed in pages.
    We started using connection pooling recently in our ADF application,  -Djbo.doconnectionpooling=true -Djbo.txn.disconnect_level=1. When using connection pooling, we noticed that the database procedure calls use a different trasanction or different database session and the data or records that these procedures update is lost.
    After removing the connection pooling, we noticed that the procedures again started using the same transaction or same database session and was working fine.
    I want to know why this connnection pooling caused this issue and is there any fix for this when using connection pooling?

    Take a look at
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E15523_01/web.1111/b31974/bcampool.htm#CIHCHHEA
    What You May Need to Know About Database User State and jbo.doconnectionpooling = true
    As you can see:
    "At the end of the request when the application module is released back to the application module pool, that application module pool releases the JDBC connection it was using back to the database connection pool. It follows that with jbo.doconnectionpooling set to true the application module instance in the pool may have a completely different JDBC connection each time you check it out of the pool"
    So, the best you can do, is to revert jbo.doconnectionpooling to false.

  • The Remote Procedure call failed error in Microsoft Direct Access configuration

    Hi,
    I have setup the Microsoft Base lab using Microsoft TLG, I have generated the IPHTTPS and NLS server certificate using the Microsoft PKI. After that I have installed the Microsoft Direct Access role but at the time of configuring the Remote Access Server
    it fails with the remote procedure call failed error.
    Could anybody help me to resolve this issue. I have searched a lot but no any solution found. It will be very helpful, if some one can point me where I did mistake.
    Thanks,
    Arif

    sql server services give error the remote procedure call failed [0x800706be] in sql server 2008.
    To resolve this issue, I executed the following mofcomp command in command prompt to re-register the *.mof files:
    mofcomp.exe "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Shared\sqlmgmproviderxpsp2up.mof".
    but it does not work.
    Plz give the exact soln to solve this error.
    So when you tried starting SQL server service it gave the error right  ?  or when you click on SQL server services in SQL server configuration manager(SSCM) you get this error. Can you be more clear.  As far as I read your question it has something
    to do with permission. Close SSCM window and this time  right click on SQL server configuration manager and select run as administrator and check if you can see SQL server services

  • Procedure calls in submit order

    Hi,
    I have a web front that can call in a background process at any time a procedure that takes about 20sec to complete. From the front end I can get this procedure call 3 or more times in 20sec. What I want to achieve is to execute these calls in the order in that the calls were made but only after the previous call is completed.
    Where should I look to achieve this, in dbms_jobs, dbms_aq?
    Any help is welcomed.
    Thank you,
    Darius

    Have you tried executing the second procedure from within the first? It looks reasonable since they both have the same args.

    Is there a way to translate this command to Oracle ODBC ?
    I tried things like {Call MyProc '%s'}{Call %s('%s')} but it does not work.

  • External procedure calls supported?

    Are external procedure calls supported? Should be, right?
    I didn't find anything in the documentation and the directory $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/extproc doesn't exist either.
    But the binary $ORACLE_HOME/bin/extproc is there.
    Thanks,

    Hi Sven,
    you have beaten me again ;). I'm too slow.
    "Any errors that occur during the execution of the
    job will be returned as errors to the RUN_JOB
    procedure."True, when the job cannot be executed, a plsql exception is raised.
    I just don't get the exit code back. If something goes wrong inside the executable, I want to be able to detect that. Usually the called script sets an exit code for that purpose.
    >>How do I get a handle on the LOG_ID?
    Are they any public variable in dbms_scheduler. e.q.
    LastLogID ;-) ?No, I 've checked the package. But the exit code doesn't seem to be logged either. error# in USER_SCHEDULER_JOB_RUN_DETAILS is 0, even when the exit code is set to non-zero.
    See the following sample:
    File: error_throw.cmd
    exit /b 1I have checked that the exit code handling works using this script:
    @echo off
    call error_throw.cmd
    IF ERRORLEVEL 3 GOTO errhandler
    IF ERRORLEVEL 2 goto errhandler
    IF ERRORLEVEL 1 goto errhandler
    echo "successful run"
    goto end
    :ERRHANDLER
    echo errorlevel
    :ENDand I called it using:
    begin
      DBMS_SCHEDULER.create_job (
        job_name        => 'GO_SYNC',
        job_type        => 'EXECUTABLE',
        job_action      => 'C:\temp\dosBatch\error_throw.cmd',
        enabled         => FALSE,
        comments        => 'Synchronously run command.');
    end;
    BEGIN
      -- Run job synchronously.
      DBMS_SCHEDULER.run_job (job_name            => 'GO_SYNC',
                              use_current_session => TRUE);
      -- Remove job after run
      DBMS_SCHEDULER.DROP_JOB('GO_SYNC');
    END;

  • Regional settings influences jdbc stored procedure calls?

    Hi,
    We have a strange problem: we use a jdbc test client
    that does a simple stored procedure call with one
    input parameter (integer) and one output parameter
    (integer). Like:
    "? = callprocedure(?)" . The database resides on a different server.
    The problem is: this only works when we use "netherlands" regional setting on the windows 2000 machine that
    java client program runs on. If we switch to
    "english (united states)" the call gives other results
    in the output parameter / returns an error code.
    Does this have something to do with the Locale of the
    virtual machine? Or do I have to do something with
    NLS_LANG to eliminate the behaviour that is dependent on
    the windows regional settings? Please help!
    Thanks,
    Michel Schudel
    We use the Oracle JDBC thin driver, latest version.
    (archive: classes12.zip)

    Ok, here it is. Basically, I first call a stored procedure called SETPARAM which receives two Strings:
    a parameter name and a a parameter value. After that, I
    call a procedure called RUNSQLKIT without any input parameters. The output parameter is an integer that indicates the number of "cells" in the output message. After that, I start to retrieve the cells but that is not important here. What happens is: with Dutch regional settings, the number of cells is normal (387) but with
    US settings, the number of cells is -1 (indicates an error.) Why? I use no dates or floating point values as
    input/output!
    Jvm version is 1.3.1_08, oracle driver is 8.1.7
    (Oracle 8i) thin jdbc driver. Oracle runs on AIX.
    conn = m_dataSource.getConnection();
    // Setup the input params
    stmtInput = conn.prepareCall("BEGIN Pck_Sqlmast.setparam(?,?); END;");
    for (final Iterator iter = m_kitParameterNames.iterator(); iter.hasNext();) {
    final String sName = (String) iter.next();
    final String sValue = input.getParameter(sName);
    if (sValue != null) {
    stmtInput.setString(1, sName);
    stmtInput.setString(2, sValue);
    stmtInput.executeUpdate();
    // Call the kit
    stmtRun = conn.prepareCall("BEGIN ? := Pck_Sqlmast.runsqlkit(?); END;");
    stmtRun.registerOutParameter(1, Types.INTEGER);
    stmtRun.setString(2, m_kitName);
    stmtRun.executeUpdate();
    final int iCells = stmtRun.getInt(1);
    Hi Michel,
    Perhaps you would care to post some more information
    including:
    1. Entire error message and stack trace you are
    getting.
    2. The part of your java code where the error
    occurs.
    3. Java version you are using.
    4. Oracle database version you are using.
    5. Platform on which Oracle database is running.
    Good Luck,
    Avi.

    Hardly anyone uses C or C++ with Oracle any more. If you are in an environment where this is done it is a very rare environment these days.
    Try to find an Oracle conference, or job description at dice.com, that asks for Oracle and C any more. Rarer than requests for Korn shell scripting.
    Your argument with respect to keeping the customer in the dark has nothing to do with Open Source. Perhaps you have not worked in the business of selling Oracle-based applications but you need to consider what reality looks like. The customer opens a support ticket. Do you ask to see the source code the minute they open the ticket? They have a problem that your support engineers can not solve in one day. Do you review all of your source code after 24 hours? When do you reach the threshold that doing so makes sense? Remember you application has many tens or hundeds of thousands of lines of code. By the time you do you have spent a small fortune in support costs. Your customer is angry with you. And the moron that made the change doesn't even work there any more so what are you going to do? Cut off their support and lose them to a competitor? No. Very simply you wrap your code and make alterations impossible.
    With respect to lawsuits. Not to pick on any country but just as an example. Lets assume you are in North America and sell an application. And lets further assume your code ends up in a commercial application sold by a company in China. You're going to sue them? Let's assume you don't have a team of lawyers on your payroll like Bill and Larry. You're going to sue them? Not realistic by any measure. Wrapping is simple and wrapping is free.
