Hide parameters on URl line

Is there anyway to hide the parameters that call a report?
Currently they show on the URL line and can be changed by the user.

Hi,
If you call a form from the customization form then the values would be submitted otherwise they will appear in the url. The only way would be to is to use a html form with p_arg_names and p_arg_values and then make the report the action method for the form. I think you can make use of the customization form instead.

in portal i'm running reports.
report url is like this;
http://myportal/reports/rwservlet?report=report.rdf&p_userid='||v_userid||'&cmdkey=conn_ybs_1'
when antone calls report the userid parameter shown in url.
for example;
http://myportal/reports/rwservlet?report=report.rdf&p_userid='||65874||'&cmdkey=conn_ybs_1'
i don't want to show parameters value to users
how can hide this parameter in url?

Hide parameters of URL Reporting using Open Document

Hi,
I just want to know if I'have to use SDK to improve URL Reporting on SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.0 ?
I have to hide the connection parameters as "apsuser, ...etc" in order to show a simple and safe URL to extract reports.
Just want information about "how to do that and what I need to do thaht ?"

I lost the url line in my browser. Don't know what I did. How do i get it back?

I was trying to get rid of the lines at the top of my firefox screen, and I guess I deleted one I shouldn't have. Now, there is no url line for me to type in; no gold star at the end of the line, and no "down arrow" to bring up my recent address selections.

Sounds that you did hide the Navigation Toolbar.
Check that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible:
*Firefox menu button > Options
*"View > Toolbars" (press F10 to display a hidden menu bar)
Open the Customize window to set which toolbar items to display:
*Firefox menu button > Options
*View > Toolbars (press F10 to make the menu bar show)
*Right-click empty toolbar area
*Check that "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar
*If the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the toolbar palette in the customize window to the Bookmarks Toolbar
*If missing items are in the toolbar palette then drag them back from the Customize window on the toolbar
*If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up

How do I use the Parameters from URL to filter on Content Query in ItemStyle.xsl?

Hi, I might need your help with code that Content Query under <xsl:Template...> that I need a filter for 3 parameter from url (from date, to date(for date range) and type.
eg: www.mywebsite.com/pages/Filter.aspx?DateFrom=01/01/2012&DateTo=01/01/2013&Type=sports

If you want to filter a Content Query Web Part with the parameters from URL, we can achieve it with OOTB of Content Query Web Part by adding "Additional Filters" in "Web Part Properties"->"Query". We can add
three filters like:
date is greater than [PageQueryString:DateFrom]
And
date is less than [PageQueryString:DateTo]
And
type is equal to [PageQueryString:Type]
Then redirect to the URL: www.mywebsite.com/pages/Filter.aspx?DateFrom=01/01/2012&DateTo=01/01/2013&Type=sports, the query results will be filtered.

How to hide parameters in bar address ? (GET vs POST)

I have to develop a web application and I would like to resolve some security issues.
My problem is that, when I pass parameters from a stored procedure to another, every parameters are shown in the bar address.
According to you, what is the best solution ?
I have tried to use the POST method for forms but it only works for one button.
Example :

HTP.FORMCLOSE;- When I click on the "Add" button, the procedure addSubProject is called and the parameters are well hidden in the bad adderss.
- For the "Delete" button, I made a different process because I can't put two different submit buttons in one form. In another word, the POST mechanism can't work for the "Delete" button so I do not know how to hide parameters in this case.
As for direct links, I do not know what do to.
Example :

Hi,
if you willing to investigate how one could reuse session variables, then that might offer you some solution. Browser session variables can be passed on from page to page. Trouble is, back and forward browser buttons don't work so well.

Can text in the URL line be enlarged?

I was trying to show an elderly man how to use Safari at a local Apple Store.
When he complained that he was having trouble reading the text in the URL line because it was too small (a problem he said he does not have when using IE on a PC at a local public library), I tried to enlarge it using standard OS X 'zoom' techniques. These didn't work. After consulting a number of Apple Store employees who tried various methods (including changing screen resolution), no solution could be found.
Is there no way to change the size of text in the URL line?

Did you try using the Zoom feature found under System Preferences > Universal Access > Seeing, or were you relying solely on Safari's own View menu > Zoom In? You might have better results using the Universal Access feature.
After turning on Zoom under Universal Access > Seeing, use the keyboard shortcuts indicated in order to enlarge everything on your screen -- including the text within the address field. Also, if you're using a mouse with a scroll wheel, try scrolling forward and back while holding down your Control key. This works for me. Good luck.

How can I recover the URL line; how can I recover the ability to backtrack?

I'm not super tech savvy. I didn't know what had happened when the system shifted from having a url line displayed with "back" and "forward" arrows.
Now, I don't know how to:
1)Find a url address so I can copy a url in order to send someone a link to a particular website.
2) Backtrack in order to get back to something previously viewed.
I'd appreciate any ideas on this.

I'm not sure I can help you with this situation. Odds are you probably can't recover the images if they aren't hidden in the card, but this just seems to be a fluke. I've had flash drives that be plugged in only to find out that was their iminant death.

Use of Parameters in URL iViews

I'm looking for information/documentation/examples of using parameters in URL iViews. In particular, I'm hoping that we can pick up some portal runtime info to include as parameters in the URL for a URL iView.
For example, here at my customer, Kodak, we plan to have country specific roles. The US Role will have a US specific Welcome Page which has a URL iView that points to a Content Management document for the US Welcome Page. The problem is that I could have one US user who's preferred language (and Portal Language Preference) is English and another who's preference is Spanish. Thus, I would need to point to the correct language version for the user. To do this, I would like to be able to pick up the language preference in the current Portal session and include it in the URL.
Is this possible? Is it standard stuff? What types of user or session context information or parameters can we pick up to use in the target URL of a URL iView and how would I use or code it in the iView.

Hide password on command line

Dear everybody,
I would like to find a way to hide password on command line when user type password. There is a way that use another thread to output '\b*'. However, it has some bugs. And I can't use Console class which has a method to hide password. Because my JDK is 1.5 and I can't change it because of some reasons.
Does anybody know a way to hide password on command line?
