Hide the row structure in Bex query

Hi Experts,
i have a query regarding display of report in Bex Analyzer.  I have two structures in report one in Row & other in Column. In row  have only one field against which there are two columns having figures
my query is as follows:
Is this possible that if I hide the filed in Row ie, if i hide the only field from row then the column fields will always displayed or they also get hide.
is there any possible way to do so, ie if i want to display the column fields / structure only, even after hiding the row field
thanks in advance
neha

Hi,
In your scenario, hiding the row will cause the columns to also disappear in the output. Can you explain why you want to hide the row?

    P2        Actual               9                          4
    How can we achive this
    In Bex query design
    Rows - Plant, Key figures - Actual,Plan
    Column - 0Calday
    Thanks,

We do not have any direct setting in BEx to do it. You can write a VB macro code in BEx to achieve this.

I did try that before, but i need to delete or hide the complete rows of the query result.

  • The row structure of the table BANFTAB is incorrect

    Dear Experts,
I get right here the error message
The row structure of the table BANFTAB is incorrect
ZBANFN is a table type and has the line tab BANFN.
Can you pls tell me what is wrong here ?
    FUNCTION Z_CHANGE_EBAKZ_FLAG.

    Hello,
You have to use a ranges table in this case.
    FUNCTION Z_CHANGE_EBAKZ_FLAG.
    *"*"Lokale Schnittstelle:
    *"  CHANGING
    *"     VALUE(BANFTAB) TYPE  ZBANFN
      data:lt_eban type table of eban.

    l_wa_banfn like line of l_r_banfn,
    l_wa_banftab like likne of BANFTAB.
    loop at banftab into l_wa_banftab.
    l_wa_banfn-sign = 'I'.
    l_wa_banfn-option = 'EQ'.
    l_wa_banfn-low = l_wa_banftab-banfn.
    append l_wa_banfn into l_r_banfn.
    clear l_wa_banfn.
    endloop.
SELECT * FROM eban into table lt_eban
      where
BANFN IN L_R_BANFN "BANFN IN BANFTAB

      IF SY-SUBRC IS INITIAL.
        LOOP AT lt_eban INTO ls_eban .
          ls_eban-EBAKZ = ' '.
          modify eban from ls_eban.
        ENDLOOP.
      ENDIF.
    ENDFUNCTION.
or you can use FOR ALL ENTRIES :
    FUNCTION Z_CHANGE_EBAKZ_FLAG.
    *"*"Lokale Schnittstelle:
    *"  CHANGING
    *"     VALUE(BANFTAB) TYPE  ZBANFN
data lt_eban type table of eban.
      data ls_eban type eban.
SELECT * FROM eban into table lt_eban
FOR ALL ENTRIES IN BANFTAB "--> Add this
      where BANFN = BANFTAB-BANFN
      AND EBAKZ EQ 'X'.
      IF SY-SUBRC IS INITIAL.
        LOOP AT lt_eban INTO ls_eban .
          ls_eban-EBAKZ = ' '.
          modify eban from ls_eban.

  • What is the use of transporting BEx query to production from development ?

    Hi !
if create a query by copying an existing query and make some modification in production and sent it to client..and client is happy as it satisfies all his requirement .
Then what is the use of creating Bex query in development and transport it in quality and then to production if we can create directly in production ?

    Hi,
There is something called as SOX compliance..and three system landscape.
First of all you are not suppose to make changes to standard qeuries.
You can give it to the client a new copied query wirth required changes and it is very much accepted as well but how will it be tracked for future support.
Suppose there is a change in the underlying cube...this will affect all the queries and the new copied query which no one knows about will be affected too.How will you test it if its workinf fine with the new flow.
If you want to do the testing in production as well.... then you are not following SAP guidelines and may be you are violating the contract signed by you and your client.
    Thanks

    Hi Reddy,
As u have created reports and saved it in BEx portfolio or My portfolio it will be saved in the KM folder which is known as Knowledge management folder for the KM services such as feedback, rating etc.So u cant view them when u open in web analyzer.U can only see them when u save in favourites or the roles folders.

  • Problem with Queries Structures in Bex Query Designer and Universe Designer

    Hi everyone,
I have a problem when i try to do a Universe from a Bex Query Designer.
When I use a Characteristic Restrictions in a Structure, the universe only show me the structure without the objects inside it.
    EJ:
    1) Bex Query Designer

                          - (Characteristic Restrictions) Reg Guayana

    (Class)     ZSRT_123
    >(Dimension)      ZSRT_123
The universe dont translate the two Characteristic Restrictions in the structure ZSRT_123.
Any information would be much appreciated. Thank you.

    Hi,
I assume that you are using BOE XI 3.1 SP2.
We have added an option in SP2 to generate or not the L00 level.
Unfortunately this option applies not only on characteristics but also on hierarchies, hierarchies variables and structures: that's the reason why you have no elements belonging to the structure generated.
I recommend to always generate L00 in order to have your structure generated correctly.
This issue will be fixed in SP3.

  • Hierarchy: How to suppress duplicated/repeated rows in a BEx query

    Hi Gurus.
I have a BEx query which displays data based on a Cost Element hierarchy.  When the hierarchy is expanded to leaf level (or any level), all key figures and characteristics are displayed for the leaf level but are also repeated throughout all the levels above.
Is it possible to suppress the repeated rows in higher levels of the hierarchy and display a summary result only?
The issue we have is that if the user wishes to export or save a workbook, they will have to filter and manipulate the report a great deal which is impractical.
I'm hoping it's a simple setting that I've missed.  I look forward to receiving the magic answer!! :o)
    Thanks,
    Angela

    Hi All,
I've been playing around a bit more and found a setting which I hope my users will find acceptable:
From the query - Query properties -> Data Formatting tab - Multidimensional View -> select Display Rows hierarchically and expand to (chosen characteristic)
Can anyone tell me if I can set this as a default setting in the query designer, or will I need to create a view to save the setting?
    Thanks all,
    Angela

  • Taking display value for calculations using structures in Bex query

    Hi
I am using Bex analyzer to do a simple report with two key figures ‘Sales’ and ‘Plans’ from cube and two more calculated key figures ‘Abs Deviation’ and ‘% error’. The report displays at category and product levels. Category is higher and one category contains multiple products.
The simple formulas for the two calculated KF are,
    1. Abs Deviation = Abs (Sales – Plans).
Abs Deviation is set with the property Calculate result as ‘summation’ to add up Abs deviations at product level to show at Category level.
    2. % Error = Abs Deviation / Plan.
The issue is with the % Error value at category level. At product level, all the values are showing correctly.
To illustrate the issue with a simple test case,
    CategryProductSale-PlanAbs Dev----%Error
    C1--P1--100-60---40--
    67%
    C1--P2---50120---70--
    58%
    C1 Total--150180---110--
    17%
Observe that in the output the calculation for ‘%Error’ at product level is correct all the way. But the summary
calculation for ‘Error%’ i.e. C1 total which is showing as 17% is wrong. The correct value as per the formula should be 110/180 = 61%.
SAP, through OSS replied that it is not a bug but the default behavior of OLAP calculation. OLAP processor first calculates the formula for % Error and then shows the display value at C1 total for Abs Dev. Meaning, ‘% Error’ is calculated first and next the summation for Abs dev is displayed. Abs dev 110 at C1 level is only a display value but not the value taken for % Error at C1 level. Instead OLAP calculates the Abs Dev at C1 level by Total sale – Total plan = 180 – 150 = 30 and the % Error calculation takes this 30 value in the formula and gives % Error = 30/180 * 100 = 17% at C1 level. But 17% doesn't make any sense to the user. Further, to display value of 61% at % Error at C1, it is being advised that by defining two structures, I can force the calculation to take display value of 110 in the % Error calculation at C1 level by using the cell editor.
Has any body tried to achieve similar result as above by defining two structures and cell editor in the query? If so, can you please throw some pointers of how to define two structures in a query and how to force the % Error at category level to take the display value of 110 in the calculation? I have gone through the documentaion on structures and cell editor but the approach is not at all clear.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

  • Field Explorer in Crystal Reports does not show the same names as Bex Query

    Hi
I have crystal reports, I can retrieve data from BW Bex Query. But in the field explorer it does not show the names as in the Bex query designer.
In the Bex query designer a field will have the following technical name 0Debitor and the description is Customer.
It shows in crystal reports in the field explorer twice as D[0DEBITOR]D and D[0DEBITOR]D. It also does not seperate key figures and characteristics.
I would like it to display the field explorer as shown in this blog.

make sure you are using the MDX Driver and what happens is that you will see several fields per characteristic. example: one for the key, one for the description, several if modelled for the display attributes

  • Drill down ( Collapsible Row ) Report in BEx query designer ?

    Dear Friends!
I am supoosed to create a report drill down report for Purchasing History to be precise,  I know that we can have drill down feature using heirarchy but is it possible for Us to have PO & PO item heirarachy ? or any other way to do drill down reporting in SAP BEx Query designer ?
like my current report is : -
    | Vendor | Purchasing Organisation | Purchasing Group | Plant | PO Number | Item | Material / Service | Description | .... ( keyfigures) |
Now I am supposed to create a report  in which
    normal view
    | Vendor | Purchasing Organisation | Purchasing Group | Plant | |> PO Number| .... ( keyfigures) | Payment |
drill down or collapsible view ( please consider the heading as data I am not talking about dynamically change of  headings ).
    | Vendor | Purchasing Organisation | Purchasing Group | Plant | V PO Number | Item | Material / Service | Description | .... ( keyfigures) |
is there anyway to design the report in above mention manner ? you any input will be appreciated greatly.
    Thank you so much!
    Regards
    Naim

    Hi Naim,
usually we don't do the transactional data as hierarchy.  not sure the reason behind your requirement.
we can do one of the below :-
    1. To have the default view as
    | Vendor | Purchasing Organisation | Purchasing Group | Plant | | PO Number| .( keyfigures) | Payment |
and then user can drill down on rest of the characteristics for detailed view later on.
    2. or if they don't want to drill down on characteristics;-
we can build 2 reports , one for header level information and then jump to second query for detailed information(item level) using RRI.
    first query:
    | Vendor | Purchasing Organisation | Purchasing Group | Plant | | PO Number| .( keyfigures) | Payment |
    second query:
    | Vendor | Purchasing Organisation | Purchasing Group | Plant |  PO Number | Item | Material / Service | Description | .... ( keyfigures) |
Let us know if this works out?
    Regards,
    Sakthi.

Thanks for the advice, I'm currently using SELECT COUNT(*) but
I'm looking for a more efficient way of doing it. If I SELECT
COUNT each time then I have to prepare and execute a SQL
statement each time. What I want to do it execute a single SQL
statement to return my results and somehow find out the number
of rows in the resultset without having to go back to the
