Hide trigger in Tab Panel, but keep target active?

I'm working with having compositions inside a tabbed panel. I know there is a way to have the triggers hidden, and then when clicked or rolled over activate a target. But is there a way to keep a target active (shown) while the trigger is 'hidden' inside a non-active tab in a panel? You can see what I'm trying to achieve here: http://tessatest.businesscatalyst.com/index.html
Essentially, I'm trying to have the have the user to be able to mix and match different trims with different roofs. But when the Roof tab is clicked the previous trim goes away. Is there a way to have the last active target stay active, after another tab is clicked. I want to use Tabbed Panel because eventually there will be more categories (brick, stone, roof, trim, windows, etc) and much more than 2 choices for each. So I think to keep it compact and organized the Panels are the best way to go. That is why I just don't want to have a whole bunch of slideshows and thumbnails on the page.
I know I could code this, or create a flash file, but would like to be able to do everything in Muse.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,

Thanks for the reply. Actually I wasn't able to do what I'm trying for with Muse. The top graphics weren't done in Muse, but with coding. If you scroll down you can see my attempt with Muse. What I would like to do is to have Composition triggers [Brick, siding, roof, etc] in an accordion with each section in its own tab. But when I do this, every time I switch to a new tab, lets say going from Brick to Trim, the Brick target that was activated disappears. And same if I go from Trim to Siding. The Trim image that was activated disappears when I click on the Siding tab. I would ideally like to have the previous target image stay active (appear) as I switch from tab to tab.
Is this possible? I tried the same idea with a blank composition and putting the material (brick, trim, siding, etc) into each trigger and respective target, but the same thing happens. When I go from trigger to trigger the previous target disappears. I would ideally like the accordion aesthetically.
Thanks for your initial response, and any further help would be greatly appreciated. It seems like there might be a way to achieve what I'm going for, I just can't figure it out.

  • Hide contents of tabbed panel initially

    I am trying to make a tabbed panel where each panel contains gallery or slideshow. That works fine, but I really want the galleries hidden initially. Using a blank slideshow widget there is no option to do so. I have also considered a menu bar that when clicked would expose a specific gallery. Like populating an i-frame. Can anyone give me a solution to this?

    Hi
    With tabbed panel , we cannot show only tabs containing information. For this specific action you can try accordion and select "Can close all" , this would initially hide the containers where you can use slide shows.
    Also, tooltip for the purpose can be used , where the content will come on screen as pop-up on rollover with triggers.
    Try the suggestions and let me know if you have any additional question.

    Let's say I have 4 tabbed panels and a user is currently on Tab 2.  Upon submitting a form (that spans all four panels), what's the best method to bring them back to the tab they were on when they clicked the submit button - in this case Tab 2?

    thanks!

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to hide content type on New button but keep enabled on Upload.
    There are two properties in SharePoint that affect the visibility of content types. These are:
    Visible on New Button (can be set through the UI – List’s Settings – screenshot)
    The Hidden property of the SPContentType object (can be set only through the object model)

  • Spry Tabbed Panels- Open link on click

    I am completely new to Dreamweaver and web design in general so please bear with me. I have created a tab menu using Spry Tabbed Panels but dont know how to make it so once a tab has been clicked an html file (ex. tab1.html which is saved on my computer) opens in the content portion, not open a new window.Can anyone post a tutorial or if its simple enough, post some directions?
    Any help would be appreciated!

    Spry Tabbed Panels are not a "menu" per se, but a series of panels, all but one of which remain hidden until their tab is clicked. Tabbed Panels is a Spry "disclosure" widget. All the content may actually exist on the same page as the Tabbed Panels widget, or you can use <iframe></iframe> to 'surface' other pages in your Tabbed Panel Content divs.
    As it sounds as if you want to use the <iframe> approach, here's how:
    <div id="TabbedPanels1" class="TabbedPanels">
      <ul class="TabbedPanelsTabGroup">
        <li class="TabbedPanelsTab" tabindex="0">First Panel</li>
        <li class="TabbedPanelsTab" tabindex="0">Second Panel</li>
      </ul>
      <div class="TabbedPanelsContentGroup">
        <div class="TabbedPanelsContent">This is the content of the first panel <br /><iframe src="heirloom.html" width="100%" height="800" frameborder="0"></iframe></div>
        <div class="TabbedPanelsContent">This is the content of the second panel <br /><iframe src="data.html" width="100%" height="500"></iframe></div>
      </div>
    </div>
    You can also omit the frameborder="0" if you want to keep the default look of an iframe. Remember to give both a height and a width to your iframes. Test them in several different browsers (or BrowserLab) to make sure they look the way you want.

  • Spry Tabbed Panel Defaults to home page with recordset paging

    I have Spry ver. 1.6.1.  A Spry Tabbed Panel titled "Check Ride Activity Report" (Tab 6)  accesses a mysql database and shows the records in a table format.  Instead of having all the records display at once I want to limit the records displayed to a few at a time. e.g. 5 per page.   I added a recordset navigation bar and set the $maxRows_GetChkRideRecs = 5;  It works but each time the navigation bar "Next" or "Last" or "First" or "Previous" is clicked the page reloads with the default Home page Tab displayed.  The user then has to click on Tab 6  to view the new results.  The url where this can be viewed is at http://Training.reliantair.com.  Is there a way to code this tab so that Tab 6 remains the default tab once it is selected until the user selects another tab?
    I want to avoid putting another  button on the page to accomplish this as shown in the spry utils samples where the user clicks to set the default tab.
    Can this be done within the recordset paging code similar to how it is done on a form submit to keep the focus on the current tab?

    I didn't try the cookie method suggested.  The tab method listed in spry utils does work but requires an additional button, so I came up with this solution.
    In the Head of the HTML document I put this code.  It searches for the query string in the HREF when any of the record paging buttons is pressed.
    <script type="text/javascript" src="SpryURLUtils.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    var params = Spry.Utils.getLocationParamsAsObject();
    if (location.href.indexOf("GetChkRideRecs") != -1  && location.href.indexOf("tab") == -1)
      location.href +="&tab=5#TabbedPanels1";
    </script>
    Then in the body of the HTML document at the bottom of the page  the tabbed panel widget is changed like this:
    var TabbedPanels1 = new Spry.Widget.TabbedPanels("TabbedPanels1",{defaultTab: (params.tab ? params.tab:0)});
    The first time a recordset paging link is  clicked the HREF attribute of &tab=5#TabbedPanels1 is added to the location HREF.  Subsequent clicks of any of the links do not change the HREF because the code looks for "tab" and does nothing if it is found.

  • My Side Navigation menu and spry tabbed panels aren't working together. Can I fix this?

    I have made some tabbed panels, but my side navigation is not working correctly now. See the following page for an example. http://www.foxthermalinstruments.com/products/index.php   When you mouse (hover) over "Applications" on the side navigation menu you can see that some of the options are covered up by the tabs on the tabbed panel. If you try to hover down to one of the options that is covered or below the tabs on the tabbed panel the side navigation menu disappears. BTW, I am using Dreamweaver CS6.

    I have to be brutally honest.  I refuse to use Spry.  Adobe abandoned the framework late last year after practically ignoring it for 3-1/2 years.  It served it's purpose for a few years but it doesn't hold up well in newer browsers like IE10 and touch screen devices.
    Keep using it if you want but I don't have much interest in fixing something that is inferior to begin with.
    My advice is to run away from Spry.  Either switch to jQuery or get any of the excellent commercial extensions from Project Seven.  You'll be glad you did.

    I have an existing css based nav menu.  Now I have added a tabbed panel on the page.  All looks good, until I browse the nav menu in IE7.  The dropdowns hide behing the tabbed panel tabs (but not the tabbed panel content).  Is this a known issue, I tried searching but 0 results??
    I'm hoping someone can give me some code to bring the nav menu to the front in IE7 (I'm not sure about older versions as well)?

  • Multiple Spry tabbed panels?

    Is it possible to have more than one set of Spry Tabbed
    Panels .css rules, i.e., with different rules within the same web
    site?
    I'd like to have tabbed panels with differing heights or
    widths, but if the dimensions (and, obviously, other rules) are
    changed for one panel, it changes them for all panels within the
    web site.

    I would like to digg up this old post if possible and really looking for an answer asap!
    Unfotunately the answer given here was pretty poor and didntreally help, hence the reason the user I believe went else where and got a simpler and more in depth answer in a non techie jargon from asktheecpers.com.
    Anyway, my problem is slightly different but must be possible!!
    I have one tabbed panel, but I have a fairly complex slanted tabs menu, I have done well so far to get it to work, however the final step I need to apply a slighly diffent hover class to on eof the tab items (the first one in the list has a flat left edge and not a slanted.)
    The selcted and initial states are fine as I have applied a different class and therefore can apply a different image, however the hover class is applied dynamic throughthe JS (not my area of expertise!!) and so I need to create a 2nd hover class to apply to different list items within the same tabbbed group??
    Please, please help!!
    Regards,
    Ryan.
    Problem can be seen here, its the first tab that is the problem, its hover needs to be a different image (blue with straight left edge)

  • Spry Tabbed Panels mangled by IE

    I have struggled -- and failed -- to figure out why IE mangles my Spry Tabbed Panel code even though the same code is rendered perfectly by Firefox, Safari, and Dreamweaver's Live View. If you think you can help me out, please take a look at the affected web page:
    www.mulinosultevere.com/panoramic_tab.htm
    using Firefox and/or Safari and then look at it using IE. The source code, of course, is available for you to view. I would appreciate any suggestions as to how I can get IE to render the code as the other browsers do. I assume that the problem on IE has something to do with my effort to use the very long photo.since the web page snaps back into the proper position when the second tab panel is activated.
    Only the web page provided currently uses Spry Tabbed Panels. The rest of the website is live using only rollover menus. I want to upgrade the website with tabbed panels, but they have to work properly in IE, of course.
    Thanks for any help you can provide.
    -- Bill

    Thanks, Helpvid, but I don't think that is the problem. I already know that IE has to be "kicked" to start Javascript. However, if you look at my web page -- www.mulinosultevere.com/panorama_tab.htm -- you will see that IE is, in fact, recognizing the Javascript because the second tab panel is rendered correctly. My problem is with the first panel that has the very long photo. Apparently there is a problem with the Javascript/html code itself. I am still looking for a solution :-( .
    Ciao!

  • Spry Tabbed Panels does not work as I want

    Sorry, but this is an utter NOOB question.
    I tried to use a Gooey ment on my page, but it does not work as intended.
    Here it works OK: http://ppbm5.com/DB-PPBM5-2.php
    Here it does not work: http://ppbm6.com/Planning.html
    I assume it is related to the menu already on this page. Anyway, since this did not work, I tried to replace the Gooey menu with Spry Tabbed panels, but being an utter noob in this area, I have made some mistakes that the experts here can probably help solve easily. What happens:
    It looks OK in DW:
    Go to Live View and it still looks OK:
    but then go to the actual page and it looks like this:
    Why do the tabbed panels not display at the top of the page next to the vertical menu, like it does in DW?
    Second question: How can I add text to each page/ tabbed panel, like here http://ppbm6.com/Planning.html

    Spry Tabbed Panels 2.0 have a number of support files to make them run.
    <!--files for Spry Tabbed panels-->
    <script type='text/javascript' src='../Spry-UI-1.7/includes/SpryTabbedPanels2.js'></script>
    <script type='text/javascript' src='../Spry-UI-1.7/includes/plugins/TabbedPanels2/SpryFadingPanelsPlugin.js'></script>
    <script type='text/javascript' src='../Spry-UI-1.7/includes/plugins/TabbedPanels2/SpryTabbedPanelsKeyNavigationPlugin.js'></script>
    <link type='text/css' href='../Spry-UI-1.7/css/TabbedPanels2/SpryTabbedPanels2.css' rel='stylesheet'/>
    Below, I have a Spry demo page with 3 widgets on it.  If you look at the source code, you'll see how the the various support files are organized.
    Function code is near the bottom of the page.
    http://alt-web.com/DEMOS/Spry-test.html
    Second question: How can I add text to each page/ tabbed panel, like here http://ppbm6.com/Planning.html
    Turn off CSS.  View > Style Rendering > un-tick Display Styles.  You'll see an unstyled HTML page in Design View.  But this won't effect styles in Live View or Preview.

  • Spry Tabbed Panels - Contribute Error Message

    I created a Web site using  Dreamweaver CS4 that uses a Spry Tabbed Panels.  It works fine, but so  far it fails when it is pulled into Contribute CS5.  I've read the posts  about allowing Spry Widget editing in Contribute, so I've turned on  that capability.
    When I try to launch the Spry Widget Properties from within Contribute, I get this error:
    "This  tabbed panel is missing its content.  Contact your administrator to add  the missing content panel, or delete this panel and insert a new one."
    I've tried creating new generic pages with new Spry tabbed panels, but they always fail with this message.
    Here is a sample page:
    http://www.dougriderconsulting.com/zmcpa/incentives.html
    Any ideas?  Thanks!

    The page http://www.dougriderconsulting.com/zmcpa/incentives.html mentioned here has no issues.
    If there are any missing  codes DW also shows the error as <missing content panel>  or <missing tab> when the Tabbed Panel widget is selected.
    In Contribute the same pops up as a message.
    The issue in page http://www.dougriderconsulting.com/zmcpa/education_in_muskingum_county.html posted in Contribute Blogs is re-solved http://blogs.adobe.com/contribute/2010/06/spry_widget_rendering.html#more-33.

  • Tabbed panels, Collapsible Panel, and Server Side Include

    Hi,
    I'm having a problem with the way a Server Side Include inside a Collapsible Panel displays.
    Here is how this particular page is set up.
    The page has spry tabbed panels.
    >>A panel has one overall Collapsible panel (the main product tab)
    >>>>Nested in that Collapsible panel are four other collapsible panels (Overview, Features, Screenshots, What's New).
    >>>>>>In each of these four collapsible panels is a server side Include that features that category's content
    E verything works fine as far as opening and closing is concerned. However, the problem is with the display. The content panel doesn't resize with the Include content, and therefore, the Include content extends outside the border of the content panel.
    I'm thinking this is because it is Include content rather than normal content. Is that right?
    Do I fix this by changing the overflow value of one the Tabbed Panel CSS styles? If so, which one should I change, and to what value?
    Or if that's not how to fix it, can anyone tell me how?
    Thanks a lot,
    Mike

    Hi, I'm using the latest version of Spry. I modified some CSS rules of the tabbed panels, but not the javascript file. I didn't do anything to the Collapsible Panel rules.
    Since first posting this thread, I changed the overflow of the Tabbed Panels Content Group CSS rule to "scroll". That did produce a scroll, but I'd much rather have the panel expand. So, I changed it back the way it was.
    Here's the page I'm working on. Click the Court Solutions tab to get to the problem panel.
    http://www.ptssolutions.com/Test/public_safety_products_3.shtml
    It has different results in IE and FireFox, but doesn't work correctly in either.
    Thanks a lot for all your help,
    Mike

  • Multi page recordset output from ASP page on Spry Tabbed Panel Widget

    I am using a simple Spry Tabbed panel set on my asp page to show the output from different ASP pages, inside the tabbed panels. The tabbed panels on the page under consideration (destination page) display the output from different asp pages (source pages). The source asp pages generate multi page outputs which are paginated on the source page itself and pagination links are displayed on the source page itself.
    However, we dont want to display the source page outside of the tabbed panel, but instead the output content from the source asp pages should show inside the tabbeed panels only. The first page generated by the source asp page displays correctly inside the tabbed panel. However, when the user clicks on the links for the next page generated by the source asp page, but which is being displayed inside the destination page tabbed panel, they dont display the next page inside the tabbed panel. Instead the source asp page displays the output outside the tabbed panel destination  page.
    Please advise on how to ensure that the user can page through the recordset generated by the source asp page by clicking on the pagination links at the bottom of the records, while ensuring that the output displays within the tabbed panels on the destination asp page.
    I am enclosing the source code being used to generate the spry tabbed panel widget and also updating it with the output from the source asp page. In this case, the code given below is from the main page containing the widget and the source asp page is "sample.asp", which generates multi page output.
    Please note that I am not too keen on using xml data sets output from the source asp page, but would be more comfortable with directly using the asp pages to fill the tabbed panel content.
    Please help

    I fully agree that the problem does not lie with tthe tabbed panels.
    The solution would probably be first required to be tried using ajax on any div tab.
    Then the same code would have to be used on Sprytabbed panel. Hence, the following may be advised:
    1. Sample code for server side pagination and displaying inside any div tag and refreshing it using ajax. the update link would also lie inside the div tag which would show the next/ previous page without reloading the page.
    2. Then adapting the refresh technique using ajax in the Spry Tabbed panel using the inbuilt updatecontent method of the Spry Tabbed panels.
    In order to achieve the above, I am getting the recordset output in the tab content as expected. The recordset is also getting the pagination links from server side asp as required.
    However, it is also generating the following error.

  • Unable to add content to Tab Panel when set in Master

    I am using the trial version at this time.... and want to confirm whether this is a bug or a purposeful limitation of the trial version beofre I consider buying.
    So I created a master page with a tabbed panel. However for each individual page I would like the tabbed panel to have different content within it. It appears that I cannot edit/add the tabbed panel in an indidual page when it is set in the master page. This is a huge issue.... as I have 10 pages that need the same tabbed panel, but with different content within each tab. Getting over my frustration, I went looking for a template creation..... there is no option to make and apply templates (which is sort of what the master is anyhow).
    This is a problem because, for instance... what if my client wants another tab in the tab panel.... without the master working per above.... I'm going to have to go in and change each of them individually.
    Have other people had this problem? Is it because of the trial version? Is adobe aware of this? Is there a fix? Or some detail I have overlooked?
    Thanks all,
    burnor

    Thanks I'll do that for the next 10-15 pages for now.... but what would really be awesome is if adobe would add the functionality I'm describing. Thus added it to the idea board....
