Hide userid on unsecured report in report 10g

I am using unsecured report on 10g and using servlet implementation. How can I hide userid/password from URL - looking for a solution in server setting? Thanks

Hello,
You can specify userid= in the URL, the DBAUTH HTML page will be displayed.
else you can use the CGICMD.DAT to store the parameter userid=user/password@db

  • Hide UserID, Password, and Report Path when call Report from Report

    Hi,
    I have been able to call Report from Report using the hyperlink.
    I put these code in my Field on the Report caller.
    function F_3FormatTrigger return boolean is
      temp varchar2(2000);
    begin
      temp := 'http://<computer_name>:8889/reports/rwservlet?';
      temp := temp || 'server=repsrv' || '&' ||
                         'report=C:\MyReport\rep_detail.jsp' || '&' ||
                         'userid=scott/tiger@orcl' || '&' ||
                         'desformat=htmlcss' || '&' ||
                         'destype=cache' || '&' ||
                         'P_1=' || :ItemID || '&' ||
                         'P_2=' || :ItemName;
      SRW.Set_Hyperlink(temp);
      return (TRUE);
    end;The hyperlink showed, and I can see the rep_detail.jsp showed in the same browser after I clicked the hyperlink.
    The problem is, the hyperlink has to include the reports path and also userid and password.
    If I did not put the userid and password, it will showed in another browse that
    "The report has uncompiled PL/SQL"
    How can I hide those userid, password, and the reports path?
    BTW, Is there anyway to show the report callee in different page (precisely, open another IE) from the report caller?
    Any help would be grateful.
    Many thanks,

    Hi,
    Thanks for the answers.
    Yet, I am still doubt about using cgicmd.dat.
    I have looked around in this forum saying that it is not secure to use cgicmd.dat. Because all report request does not use authentication (the client can directly open report without login).
    In Form, I can use the On-Logon to do the Oracle Form login (to do logon to the database), and then I use my own custom user login to restrict the menu for each user.
    I do this since I want to restrict the user,
    i.e user A can only view the sales form as well as sales report,
    user B can only view the purchasing form as well as purchasing report.
    Well, I am not so fond about the SSO itself.
    It comes to my mind, since I don't have to re-login (to the database) each time I call another form (login database is only once at the first Form, On-Logon). It also goes to when calling the report caller.
    What is RAD?
    How can we use it?
    Is OID = Oracle Internet Directory?
    If true, maybe, I won't use it since I don't understand about it also.
    Why we don't have to specify the userid and password when Form calls Report1 (using Run_Report_Object and Web.Show_Document())?
    But we have to specify the userid and password when Report1 calls Report2.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Many thanks,
    Buntoro

    Hi!
    May use a function like this to encrypt your logon-data:
    function encrypted_logondata return varchar2 is
    l_user          varchar2(100);
    l_a             varchar2(10);
    l_b             varchar2(10);
    l_user_encrypt  varchar2(200);
    begin
    l_user := lower ( GET_APPLICATION_PROPERTY( username ) || '/' || GET_APPLICATION_PROPERTY( password ) || '@' ||
                      GET_APPLICATION_PROPERTY( connect_string ) );
    for i in 1..length ( l_user ) loop
      l_a := ltrim( to_char( trunc( ascii( substr( l_user, i, 1 ) ) / 16 ) ) );
      if l_a = '10' THEN l_a := 'a';
      elsif l_a = '11' THEN l_a := 'b';
      elsif l_a = '12' THEN l_a := 'c';
      elsif l_a = '13' THEN l_a := 'd';
      elsif l_a = '14' THEN l_a := 'e';
      elsif l_a = '15' THEN l_a := 'f';
      end if;
      l_b := ltrim( to_char( mod( ascii( substr( l_user, i, 1 ) ), 16 ) ) );
      if l_b = '10' THEN l_b := 'a';
      elsif l_b = '11' THEN l_b := 'b';
      elsif l_b = '12' THEN l_b := 'c';
      elsif l_b = '13' THEN l_b := 'd';
      elsif l_b = '14' THEN l_b := 'e';
      elsif l_b = '15' THEN l_b := 'f';
      end if;
      l_user_encrypt := l_user_encrypt || '%' || l_a || l_b;
    end loop;
    return ( l_user_encrypt );

  • How can I hide the dimention in report if a user have no privilige to acces

    Hi:
    This is a "column level security" issue, it maybe a simple option but I didn't figure it out.
    Say I have two dimentions in a report, D1 and D2, and both user A and B can see this report. However, user B have no privilege to see D2, since in presentation level, I made this dimention not accessible to user B.
    In BIEE 10, I just need to modity NQSconfig.ini and make "PROJECT_INACCESSIBLE_COLUMN_AS_NULL = YES". In BIEE 11, this value is YES by default.
    Now the problem is, in 10, when user B visit this report, he can only see ONE column. But in 11g, he can see both D1 and D2 in the report, although values in D2 is empty. I wonder if there is an option to hide D2 in the report? This should be possible becausee 10 already did that.
    Thanks for your help.
    Larry

    There was earlier a thread on column level secuirty in 11g. PFB the link. See if it helps.
    Column level security does not seem to work in OBIEE11g
    Also, in 10g for column level security we had used choose statement. Am not sure if same can be used in 11g. PFB link for getting information on choose statement.

    Hello,
    You should create a "wrapper function"
    Create a function in the database that will call dbms_crypto.encrypt / dbms_crypto.decrypt and call this function in Reports.
    (The problem here seems to be the reference to dbms_crypto.des_cbc_pkcs5)

  • ORacle reports 10g conditional formatting

    ORacle reports 10g
    Trying to hide a txt field without losing the line
    If I hide the field depending on a condition, all lines below move up - I do not want this to happen
    Any suggestions ?
    XML is out of the question at this time on this report.

    If possible, change the vertical elasticity of the item to 'Fixed'. If it is not feasible, then do you have any other items on left or right of the hidden item, which you do not hide? If you enclose all the items (including the item which is in question) within a frame. And change the line color of the frame to transparent. Vertical elasticity as 'Variable'. If that is also not possible, then create a boilerplate text (type . there), next to the item. Change the color of the '.' to white and font size to 2. So it is not visible. When item is hidden, '.' will be there and lines wouldn't move up.
    Hope this helps.

  • Running Reports 10g on Apps Server

    We have a Windows 2003 apps server running Oracle Forms and Reports 10g.
    We are having a problem running reports in Oracle 10g, and believe it to be something to do with the configuration files. Currently, we can run the test report through Enterprise Manager using both the default reports service and the one that we have created. However we are unable to run our own reports through forms.
    To check that there was nothing wrong with our forms, we copied one of the reports into the …\forms10g\reports\samples\demo folder to see if we could run it through Enterprise Manager. However, we get the following error:
    Rep-110: Unable to open file ……
    Rep-1070: Error while opening or saving a document.
    Rep-0110: Unable to open file …...
    We then renamed the test.rdf file and tried to run that. Again we got the above message. Next we tried again to run test.rdf, even though this no longer existed, and the report ran. This implied that it isn't actually running the report, but has the report output stored somewhere, and it just displays this.
    No matter how we try to run reports, and with which reports service, we always get the above error.
    So why is it that no reports will run, not even the test one when it is renamed? Is there a configuration setting somewhere?

    Hi All,
    Hope YOu are fine.
    We have running Oracle Forms and Reports Services 10g on Windows 2000 Advanced Server.
    The Application Works fine, and reports are generated successfully.
    But when we access the same application by using either Linux OS (RHEL 4.0, Ubuntu 6),
    The forms works fine but Linux OS could not run the report.
    This seems to be a configuration problem.
    Any Clues.
    Thanks and Looking Forward.

  • Formula Columns are not working in Reports 10g

    Hi,
    We converted the reports developed in Reports 6i to Reports 10g. When we run the report in Reports 10g Builder everything works fine. But when we deploy the same report in Oracle Application Server and invoking the report the formula columns are not working ie., the fields/ placeholder columns which are based on the formula column are not displaying any values in the report.
    Please, someone help us in this regard.
    Thanks & Rgds,
    M T

    What version of Reports do you use..???
    Greetings...

  • Image_Item not working in Reports 10g

    we can't use ImageItems in our report.
    we had a table with some images in a column with Datatype Longraw. Because we can't use that with Forms/reports 10g, we cahnged the Table-Column to Blob and migrated the Data with Import/Export. Within Forms we don't have any problem, we can display the old migrated pictures, we can import new images with Webutils Client_Image.Read_Image_Item and we can display those new images as well.
    But now we have a problem with Reports. Our Report has an item (the new Blob_Column) in the query and that item is displayed within the report. If the Report is run for a record with a migrated Image, it works fine, but with a new Record and a new imported Image_Item, the Report fails (on the Server) with the following information in EM :
    Mit Fehler beendet: REP-69: Interner Fehler REP-62203: Interner Fehler beim Lesen des Bildes - Unable to render RenderedOp for this operation..
    it is a very small Report but with 2 images (both are small).
    Any ideas out there ?
    regards,
    Mark

    Found the solution by myself.
    The Problem isn't within Reports it is within Forms. The Image_Item has to set to FileType "BMP" instead of "JFIF".
    That solved the problem.

  • Report 6i and Report 10g together in a system

    Hi,
    Is it create any problem if I installed both Report 6i and Report 10g in
    a system having 10g database.
    What are possible problem that will have to face?

    Hi,
    There won't be any issues. We are using both in our development machines. You must make sure the tnsnames.ora has correct entries.
