Hide value from url

This forum has been a greate help, I learned a lot by asking questions here.
Have a customized query that generated a link icon to another page. The url pass the primary key along with some item values to the linked page. It works.
My question is if I compared my url link (by hovering the mouse to the link icon) to a link that was generated by APEX using same primary key and items, I see my homemade url exposes all the item values that I have passed to. However, apex generated page only exposed the primary key value, the rest seems a combination of hex charactier. How can I make it behave like the apex generated link icon ? thanks.

I am not sure if there is any direct way to do that, however %2c is the standard HTML url encoding character which represents a comma(",") and %20 is for space.

If you are interested in hiding values in the url you can encrypt the item values before page branch and decrypt using the same algorithm once you reach to the target page. But this will slow down the page branching and also it require extra efforts to develop page branching algorithm of each url navigation. Thanks.

Transferrring parameter values from URL (by query strings)

Hello,
Is it possible to transfer username and password by a Url link with query strings? (http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/ce/3dd23a09313b37e10000000a11405a/content.htm )
I tried the following URL pattern, but it didn't work..

Hello,
It is true for JSR168 portlets that you can't just arbitrarily set parameters on a URL and get access to them inside your portlet- you must use the appropriate APIs on the PortletURL class to set parameters that you can retrieve. This is the only portable (standards-compliant) way to implement the functionality you want.
However, for your particular use-case, you can get the URL parameters from the (non-JSR168) HttpServletRequest object. The only reason you are getting a null object for that is because the attribute name is wrong. This should work:
HttpServletRequest httpRequest = (HttpServletRequest)(request.getAttribute("javax.servlet.request"));
String eventId = httpRequest.getParameter("eventId");

i know how to do that in jsp using "request.getParamter("name")" and save it in a bean and then forward to a servlet. But what about in jsf?

Values from WESelectCascade not in Target-URL

Hi,
I have create a Formular with WETextbox and WESelectCascade. The Value from the WETextbox was added to the URL but not the values from the WESelectCascade. The allelements-String in the WEBuilder-Function includes the WESelectCascade-Elements.
I have also added an Submit-Button to the Sample-Report "webElements Advanced Functionality.rpt". All Values from the other controls are in the URL-String but not the values from the WESelectCascade and WESelectCascadeMulti.
Are there any Problems with these Elements?

one thing that comes to mind for this is evaluation times on the report. webelements functions follow the same rules as other crystal formulae and hence evaluation time is important.
1) the webuilder should be placed below all of the other controls, preferably in it's own section to ensure that it is evaluated last on the report.
2) if you have shared variables in your formulae that are used in the weselectcascade(multi) then these formulae should be "whileprintingrecords". in order for the webuilder to catch all of the variables from the controls, the webuilder formula should be "whileprintingrecords" as well.
3) to test if you do have an evaluation issue...open up the report in the crystal designer, go to preview mode, then copy the webuilder formula and past the output to notepad...through the long mess of stuff you've copied to notepad, there should be a bunch of javascript arrays representing some of the code that makes your selectcascade functions run in the viewer.

How to Get Parameter Values from the URL ?

I have built a calendar called cal_test. I am calling this calendar with this URL:
http://.../pls/.../xyz.cal_test.show?p_arg_names=p_sc_id&p_arg_values=2&p_arg_names=_start_date&p_arg_values=FEB-2002
In the 'Additional PL/SQL Code' tab of cal_test, I need to call a procedure which requires me to pass in as parameters the values of p_sc_id and startdate embedded in the URL named above. How can I retrieve these 2 values from the URL ? Any advice will be appreicated !

When user clicks on "Advance Search", i am redirecting to page in the community. At the same i am adding some more values to the query string (to the URL).
My URL will look like this.

How can I read an ID-value from the LMS and insert this into an URL?

Right now I am struggling with a little problem. Hopefully anyone here knows the answer. For the latest course I am building (Captivate 6), it is necessary that at one point the course reads an ID-value from the LMS. After that, this ID should be inserted into an URL.
To be more precisely: the ID must be read (getValue) from cmi.archive_id and inserted into an URL like that: http://.../archive.php?action=pdf&objectID=ARCHIVE_ID.
Unfortunately I am more of a designer und less of a javascript-maestro (well...I am a javascript-noob to be precisely), therefore I am pretty clueless how to do that. I tried a simple executed action (run Javascript: cpEIGetValue('cmi.archive_id'); and after that open URL http://.../archive.php?action=pdf&objectID=ARCHIVE_ID), but...well...that didn't work.
Any ideas?

Search Results web part - Custom Query using "Value with a parameter from URL" inconsistent

I have encountered what I think may be a bug, but I am hoping that there is something that I am missing.
Within my search site, I have created a new search results page where I want to customize the "Search Results" web part query. I can add in any number of property and keyword filters (using the "Build Your Query" dialog) without
issue... until I add a filter that uses the QueryString property (the builder dialog calls this "Value with a parameter from URL").
If I use {QueryString.MyParameterX} for filtering, it works beautifully in the query builder dialog. I see the expected results in the search results preview pane, but as soon as I apply the changes things become inconsistent.
If I close/reopen my browser and navigate to my page at http://myaddress/search/Pages/testresults.aspx?MyParameterX=test I see results. If I then refresh the page, I get a "Nothing here matches your search" message. I can then go to
the same address but change one character to an uppercase character and get results. Refreshing that same page again returns "Nothing here matches your search". I can only get search results one time per uniquely cased URL without having
to close/reopen my browser. This behavior was seen on both Firefox and IE.
Finally, I found that if I instead navigate to http://myaddress/search/testresults?MyParameterX=test, it always returns results. This, unfortunately isn't the best solution for me... but it is a solution.
Any insight that anyone can provide is greatly appreciated! I would really like to be able to depend on this working in all logical cases (especially since the search center of other sites is set using the path all the way down to /Pages).

Hide webpage link URL from browser status bar?

Anyone know how to hide webpage link URL from the browser
status bar with Dreamweaver CS4? So that when the mouse cursor
hovers over a link on a webpage, the URL won't be shown in the
browser status bar. This comes in useful for when I put my email as
a link on a webpage but I don't want to let my email address be
known prematurely. I prefer to do this through the Dreamweaver CS4
interface without coding, if possible. What is the easiest way to

decide
whether they will click on the link. By hiding it, you remove
that
extremely valuable security information - for example, a link
tells you on
the screen that it is taking you to www.wachovia.com, but the
status bar
link tells you it's taking you to

I don't think you want to remove that from your site, unless,
of course, you
are the webmaster for

1. Train Component : I need to remove link which is on 'Train Stop' icon so user can't directly go to next stop.
2. Hide region in case of Empty Result from URL Service Call :
 I have created a region and in region put the task flow which have readOnly table calling URL Service data control.
 In case of empty result from service call, table is rendered and displays 'No data to display.' I don't want to show empty table in this case. and I also want to make region invisible (rendered=false).
3. alternative of <optgroup> tag in adf: Do we have any alternative option to display <optgroup> tag in adf ?

The af:region is out of scope for the table. Instead use a dynamic regions that you switch to from a managed bean (see the product documentation about dynamic regions) and then you switch to an empty region when there is no values to display. Another option would be to hide the table instead of the region using its display property. Let me know which approach you go with and if you need additional information
