Hiding of Fields on the UI

Hi All, can some one guide me on how can I unhide a few fields on the UI for Material not on the UIBB level . Regards, Vag Vignesh Shenoy

You can't hide fields at the Data model level, If you want to hide fields you can do at Change request level please follow the below steps;
T. Code : MDGIMG
Step 1:
Process Modelling -> Change Request -> Configure Properties for Change Request Step
Step 2:
Select the "Type of change request" type and double click on the 'Change request step' at the left side of the screen under dialog structure
Step 3:
Select the Change request step on the right side of the screen, Double click on the entity types per change request step
Step 4:
Select the entity type on the right side of the screen , Double click on the 'Attributes per change request step -> you change the field properties in the screen as required.
You can also maintain the field dynamically based on roles, Please follow the the user guide how to maintain the fields dynamically based on roles;

Hiding columns/fields in the response portfolio after you distribute your form

I have a 10 page from that has about 100 radio buttons (yes/no) in it. After someone submits the form and I open my response portfolio the only columns/fields I want to see is the name, date, age and exclude all the radio buttons. Can you set an option LC ES before you distribute the form?
I have found I can do this within the portfolio pdf, but only going to modify---view-then unchecking what I do not want to see…………BUT it is ONLY one at a time. If there is another way of doing it LET ME KNOW!!

The response file is a collection. But unfortunately it can't be edited, at least not easily. You can remove a column with a script run in the console window.
this.collection.removeField("FieldName");
The field name is typically the name displayed at the top of the column.

Hiding columns/fields in the response portfolio in Adobe Pro X

First WHERE is the modify---view in X
In LiveCycle Designer, I have a 10 page from that has about 100 radio buttons (yes/no) in it. After someone submits the form and I open my response portfolio the only columns/fields I want to see is the name, date, age and exclude all the radio buttons.
In Adobe Standard 9 and while in the response portfolio I can remove the columns/fields, but only going to modify---view-then unchecking what I do not want to see…………BUT it is ONLY one at a time. If there is another way of doing it LET ME KNOW!!

Hiding some fields in the Business Group Info

Hi All
I want to hide the Minimum Working Age and Maximum Working Age from the Business Group Info while defining a new business group.
I tried form personalizations but not able to find the text item related to this neither I am able to find any attributes related to these items.
I tried to check the attributes of the DFF Additional Organization Information without any success.
What are fields assoicated with these items and how can i hide these items?

You are not supposed to unfreeze and modify any of the segments here. You just need to get the column names where minimum and maximum working hours are stored. Get the column names from here and then go to the Organization screen. Here create a personalization and user these column names to hide the data by setting up their property 'CONCEAL_DATA' to be true.

Hiding selective fields in a report based on other field in the same report

Hello!
I am trying to create a report of the inventory items. 2 of the fields in the report would be the sale price of the item, and one of the properties (prop1) from the Item Master Property tab.
Depending on whether Prop1 is Y/N, the price of the item should be displayed.
If Prop1 = N, Price is displayed
If Prop1 = Y, Price gets hidden
Using queries, is it possible to create this kind of reports?
I am using SAP 2005b PL 42.

Using the CASE Statement inside your SELECT you can achieve this.

Hiding a Field and removing the space occupied by it.

I have a requirement where i need to hide one field at line level in Custom Form. The line level block is having a folder.
I should not use folder property to hide the field. The field should be hidden whenever the form is opened AND SPACE OCCUPIED BY THE FIELD SHOULD NOT BE VISIBLE. i.e other fields should move left wards.

Thanks for the prompt reply.. I have done it using form personalization.. I used global variable folder_action. First i copied 'CUT' into this global variable then i executed folder_action using builtin execute_trigger.

Hiding Image field based on the page number in Adobe Form- Script

Hi Folks,
I have a problem with the print form that I am working on. I need to insert an image of lines (OMR) based on the page numbers. For the OMR part, the first page will always have 4 lines as a image, the middle pages will have 3 lines as a image and the last page will have two lines as a image.
I have uploaded these 3 images a BMPs in SE78 and I am using Xstring of these images in the form. I have two master pages. First master page is for the first page and the second master page is for the remaining pages. The first master page will always have the 4 line image. I created a positioned subform in the master page2, in that subform, I have 2 hidden numeric fields, as the run time properties one for the current page number, other one for the total number of pages. I placed those two images(one for the three line image and the other one for the two line image) exactly on the same location positioned dimensions wise.
I have written the java script for these two image fields to show based on the page numbering. But, somehow, it is not working. Can anybody please let me know where I am doing wrong. I am posting my java script here.

Thanks for the response. You are right, I am struck with this image. My problem was to keep the OMR marking on each page based on the page number. It is like a lines with 10mmX10mm dimension at the top right corner for the sorter machine to know the number of pages to put in the envelope. The logic for this is, on the first page, it has 4 lines each 3mm apart. On the middle pages it has 3 lines . On the last page it has 2 lines. When the sorter machine picks these, it looks at the first page with 4 lines, it will count as a first page, it will continue through the 3 line pages as the middle pages until it reaches the 2 line to know it as the last page. This is all happens in the master pages. I have two master pages , one for the first page and the second one for the remaining pages.
At first I did not know how to To achieve this, I created 3 images. one with 4 lines, another ones with 3 lines and 2 lines. The 4 lines image was on the first master page. The 3 lines and 2 lines images were on the second master page at the same place as the image fields positioned. Thats where I was trying this scripting. I was trying to capture the current page and number of pages. Based on these, I was trying to place them.
Is there any other way to achieve this instead of using the images? I thought of sy-uline. but some in the forum told that its not going to work. Even if I use the sy-uline, I have to do some script to achieve this I believe.
Any inputs on this.. Please give the direction.

Is there any option of hiding ( no display) a field from the output list.?

i have a requirement where i should not be display the field in the output but need to use the field in the write stmt .
example :
write : / itab-field1 ,
itab-field2.
but in the output list i dont want the field 2 to be dispalyed is there any way for this.

Hi Vikram,
Just clear the field value before the write statement. It will solve the issue.
Loop at itab into wa.
clear wa-field1. " say suppose if you dont want to display field1 of itab
write wa-field1
write / wa-field2
Endloop.

Hi Kavya,
You can right click on the field, go to Format Field -> Common Tab. Select/Check the option "Suppress". Or if you want to hide/ Suppress the entire section in a Crystal Report, for e.g. Detail section, right click on Details Section and select Section expert. You can select Hide/Supress accordinly.
That should hide the filed/Section when you run the report.

Dear freinds how to open the fields in the PNP selection screen

Dear Freinds,
         When you use the PNP selection screen , i dont find the Orgeh field in default selection screen .
However , using the code at selection screen output i have closed certain feilds using the loop at screen,
but when iam trying in similar way to show the field
on the selection what is the code i have to use
in the loop at screen...........especially for the field
orgeh .
i have tried the othere options like required.........this working when iam able to make the date fields mandatory, similary i want to try with the below
code to get the field Orgeh on the selection as default feild when we execute the report.

Hi Madhuri,
Unless you dont declare the orgeh field in hr report category you cannot show it on the selection screen nor you can hide it.
If you do not want to use hr report cateogry.
What you can do is that declare a parameter or selection screen called p_orgeh type orgeh.
Here you can do the hiding on conditions.
Kindly note here that after get pernr you will have to put a check that
check p0001-orgeh in p_orgeh.
Because for the fields declared by you automatic filtering does not happen.

Hi,
You can achieve the hiding of a field very easily using the BSP workbench.
You can find out the relevant UI component, Enhancement set and View by pressing F2 button on the relevant field for which you wnat to discover the related UI Class.
Then using the tcode:- BSP_WD_CMPWB you need to enter the BSP Workbench.
In the workbench, enter the values of the Component and the Enhancement Set and click on display.
Then in the next screen you will see all the relevant sections for that Component.
Expand the Views.
Double click on your view, which you figured out at the very beginning.
The relevant view opens.
On the right side click on the tab "Configuration".
Cick on "Choose Configuration" to chosse your relevant configuration.
The configuration window opens, where you can hide the relevant fields.
Hope this helps.

When i hide some fields from the Editform using javascript, what will happen to the fields that hve been hidden

I am working on an EnterpriseWiki site collection, and when users edit the page properties as follow:-
then will get all the fields inside the EnterpriseWiki content type as follow:-
now i want to hide all the fields except the ; Title & Name, so i edit the EditForm and i add the following script:-

so currently when users edit the wiki page properties they can only edit the Name & Title, because the script hide the other fields.
My question is what will happen to the other values such as the page content, assign to , etc that have been hidden.. I test this and seems that when editing the name and title the other values will not get effected which is what i need, but not sure how
did SharePoint handle this, i was afraid that hiding the other columns will set their values as null or empty if the user save the editform with only the title and name inside it ? can anyone adivce on this ?

From your description, my understanding is that you are worried about the values of some fields
will been saved as empty if you hide them in EditForm.
If you hide some fields in EditForm, it means that you could not edit them. These fields’ values will not be changed after editing Title field or Name field. When you click Save button, they will be still the values before changing the Title field or Name
field.

i found this very critical issue with hiding the fields from the edit form, now i wrote the following script inside the edit form , to hide all the fields except the Name

Hi,
Its possible to have that many fields in the cube, but you have to consider what the reporting requirements are and how the data is connected, etc. You also have to consider how much data volume is going to be generated and at what level you are going to store the data in the cube. If your client is suggesting you to have line item level or granular data in your cube , suggest to them to have that in an ODS and provide jump queries from the cube to the ODS if necessary.
If many of the fields are not going to be required for reporting at present or in the future, suggest to the client to have them in the ODS and a smaller subset of the fields in the cubes.

Error while adding a new field to the Segment in we31

Hi ,
I am getting error when i am trying to add the new field to the cust. segment.
It is released for the adding the new fields i am cancelling the release , but i got a message like this
Error while resetting release of segment 'segment name'.
it is comming from the message class EA and message number 259.

Hi,
Have you tried Cancelling the release before adding the version?
Select the active version of the IDOC Segment and cancel its release first. Only then you will be able to add a version.
