Hiding screen fields containing tables

HI guyz,
i have created a custom  infotype which has 2 subtypes . certain fields should not be displayed when we select the subtypes. i have used the  code below. the screen contains a table.
MODULE hide_FIELDS OUTPUT.
IF p9555-subty = '1'.
LOOP AT SCREEN.
IF screen-group2 = 'ABC'.
screen-active = 0.
MODIFY SCREEN.
ENDIF.
ENDLOOP.
ENDIF.
IF p9555-subty = '2'.
LOOP AT SCREEN.
IF screen-group2 = 'XYZ'.
screen-active  = 0.
MODIFY SCREEN.
ENDIF.
ENDLOOP.
ENDIF.
ENDMODULE.                 " hide_FIELDS  OUTPUT
the fields which are not in  the table are not getting displayed as required but the fields in the table still appear on the screen(they are grayed out). i do not want them to appear on the screen. can anyone help me with this.  Thanks in advance.

  • Attaching search help to SCREEN FIELDS AND TABLE FIELDS

    Hello experts,
    Himanshu here.
Could you please explain how we can assign search Help to a screen field AND TABLE FIELDS in ABAP?
Please reply at the earliest,as we have some deliverables to be met
    Thanks

    Hi,
In the initial screen of the ABAP Dictionary, select object class Search help, enter the name of the search help and choose Create.
A dialog box appears in which you must select the type of search help.
Select Collective search help and choose .
The maintenance screen for collective search helps is displayed.
Enter an explanatory text in the field Short text.
You can for example find the search help at a later time using this short text.
In the Definition tab page enter the parameters of the collective search help.
Select the Imp flag if it is an import parameter. Select the Exp flag if it is an export parameter.
Define the types for the parameters of a collective search help by assigning a data element. Enter the name of the data element that describes the contents of the search help parameter in the Data element field.
You can assign the parameter a default value in the Default value field.
In exceptions it could be necessary to change the standard process defined by the search help. You can implement the deviation from the standard using a search help exit.
In this case enter the name of the search help exit in the corresponding field.
On the Included search helps tab page, define the search helps that you want to include in the collective search help.
You can include elementary search helps and collective search helps.
Use the Hide flag to control whether an included search help should appear in the dialog box for selecting the elementary search help. If the flag is set, the search help is not offered.
It makes sense to hide search help inclusions if one or more search paths in the standard system should not be used in a concrete R/3 System. Similarly, search help inclusions can also be already hidden in the standard system because they only can be used meaningfully in a few R/3 Systems. You have to cancel the flag in this case.
Position the cursor one after the other on each allocated search help and choose Parameter assignment.
In the next screen, enter the parameter names of the elementary search helps to which the corresponding parameters of the collective search help should be assigned in the field Reference parameter.
You can select the parameters contained in the included search help using the input help. Create a proposal for the assignment with Proposal.
    Save your entries.
A dialog box appears in which you have to assign a development class to the search help.
    Choose .
    Result
The collective search help is activated. You can find information about the activation flow in the activation log, which you can display with Utilities ® Activation log. If errors occurred when the collective search help was activated, the activation log is automatically displayed.
Do not forget to link the search help to a screen field. The search help attachment is not part of the search help definition; it is part of the object definition to which the search help is attached.

    veeresh.

  • Screen field related table information

    Hi all,
In SAP standard transaction most of the screen fields will reffer to some dictonary field or some table field. I know that if a screen field refers to dictionary table field that screen field value will save in that dictionary table field. My doubt is that is there any way to find out in which table field the data we are entering on the screen field will go be saved if the screen field refers to a dictionary structure field . The only solution is to look through the code ? please kindly help
    Regards,
    Kasi S

to which transaction u need this info
for sales order va01 or va02 it is T180 .
for purchasing or me21 /me22 it is t160 "just check once.
i think we dont have a specific generic table where the contents of the screen field data pertaining to transactions are stored  .
we need this info only at the time of user exits for screen processing.

  • Hiding Screen fields dynamcially

    Hi,
Is there any way to show/hide screen fields dynamically in personas. What i want to achieve is that, When i click on a button , i need to display a group box. If i Click on another button , other box needs to be displayed.
    Regards,

No, in Personas 2 you can't directly control the visibility of objects from a script. There is a trick that achieves something very similar. See Tobias' answer in this discussion: SAP Screen Personas.

  • Hiding screen fields

m using PNP selection screen. i want to hide some of these fields. how can i do it.

    Hi Nidhi,
You can check if any of the existing "Report Category" suits your requirement. If none of them suit then you can create a new report category and assign that to your program (in <b>Attributes Screen there is a button called Report Category</b>).
<u>Report Categories can be created or assigned at</u>
SPRO -> Personnel Management -> HR Information System -> Reporting -> Adjusting Standard Selection Screen -> Create or Assign Report Categories

  • Dynamic Fields in Table control......

    hi friends,
i wan to knw , is it possible to add fields dynamically in table control? actually the requirement is like, it is not fixed how many fields will be their in table control, it may change depending upon date. so if u knw, please help me out....
good points will be awarded to helpful answer.....
    Thanks,
    Brij

    Hi Harsha,
I generated a table control (ERP 6.2) and somewhere I found the coding like this (the name of the table control is TABLE_CONTROL):
*&spwizard: output module for tc 'TABLE_CONTROL'. do not change this lin
    *&spwizard: get lines of tablecontrol
    module TABLE_CONTROL_get_lines output.
      g_TABLE_CONTROL_lines = sy-loopc.
If I do a loop at the screen at this place, I can control the individual input/output for the screen fields (the table fields). In my work area (WA_CONTROL) I can see the actual value of fields. Depending on this, I choose to enable/disable input via:
    loop at screen.
    if wa_control-material <> ' '.
    screen-input = '0'.
    modify screen.
    endif.
    endloop.

  • Problem in updating screen field.

    Hi all,
We have a requirement to fill a blank screen field in table control in the screen by taking the value of one of the other fields in the same screen.I have used DYNP_VALUES_READ to read value from one screen field of the screen and DYNP_VALUES_UPDATE to update the read value in another screen field in table control of the same screen.I am able to read the value but unable to update value.
    Flow logic.
Value in the ‘Project #’ field should be updated in the ‘Partner field’ column in the table control on selecting ‘Sold-To-Party, option. I have created field exit for ‘Sold-To-Party’ field and in the field exit function module I have written the code.
    Thanks and regards
    Kiran Vangalapati

It depends on how you have your table control set up.  When you say that you are updating the table control field, are you updating the value of the field wherever the table control data is being pulled from (I.e. the original table)?  Or are you updating the value in the internal table that is part of the table control definition (I.e. the field shown within the table control if you look at the screen layout)?  Make sure that if you are changing the data in the original table that you then also update the actual table control fields as well.  Also, are you making your changes in the PBO module before the screen is ever displayed?  You may need to use a MODIFY SCREEN statement after you make your changes, depending on when your code is called.  I hope this helps.

  • Table for Screen Field Properties

    Hi Guys,
    I have strange requirement.
Lets say i have designed 5 fields in the Dialog Program. 2 fields belongs to Group1,another 2 fields belongs to Group2 and 3rd field is belongs to group3.
Where can i find those values (I mean which table). I belive it should be Program, screen no and data type.
Note : Groups you can set in Attributes of the field in Dialog Program.
    Thanks
    Poorna

    Setting Screen Field Attributes
Every screen field has attributes that you set in the Screen Painter when you define the
screen. At runtime, you may want to change these attributes, depending on what
functions the user has requested in the previous screen. At runtime, attributes for each
screen field are stored in a memory table called SCREEN. You do not need to declare
this table in your program. The system maintains the table for you internally and updates
    it with every screen change.
The memory table SCREEN contains the following fields:
    Name Length Description
NAME 30 Name of the screen field
GROUP1 3 Field belongs to field group 1
GROUP2 3 Field belongs to field group 2
GROUP3 3 Field belongs to field group 3
GROUP4 3 Field belongs to field group 4
ACTIVE 1 Field is visible and ready for input
REQUIRED 1 Field input is mandatory
INPUT 1 Field is ready for input
OUTPUT 1 Field is for display only
    INTENSIFIED 1 Field is highlighted
    INVISIBLE 1 Field is suppressed
LENGTH 1 Field output length is reduced
DISPLAY_3D 1 Field is displayed with 3D frames
VALUE_HELP 1 Field is displayed with value help
To activate a field attribute, set its value to 1. To deactivate it, set it to 0. When you set
the ACTIVE attribute to 0, the system suppresses the field and turns off the ready for
input attribute. The user can neither see the field nor enter values into it.
    Note
You can define values for each of these attributes in the Attribs. for 1 field section in
the field list of the Screen Painter. If you need more information about attribute
meanings, see BC ABAP/4 Workbench Tools.
    Modifying the Screen SAP AG
    Setting Screen Field Attributes
    32u20134 May 1997
As an example of modifying the screen dynamically, start with transaction tz50
    (development class SDWA).
The transaction consists of two screens. In the first screen the user can enter flight
identifiers and either request flight details (by pressing a Display pushbutton) or press the
Change pushbutton to change the data of screen 200.
The field attributes are now set dynamically, according to whether the Display button or
the Change button was selected. In both cases the same screen is now called, but with
    different field attributes.
If the same attributes need to be changed for several fields at the same time, these fields
can be grouped together. For example, in order to change the fields in screen 200
dynamically, we assign these fields in the Screen Painter to the group MOD. You can
specify up to four modification groups for each field. The contents of the Groups field
are stored in the SCREEN table.
The changes to the attributes of the fields in this group can be implemented in a PBO
    module:
    SAP AG Modifying the Screen
    Setting Screen Field Attributes
    May 1997 32u20135
    MODULE MODIFY_SCREEN OUTPUT.
    CHECK MODE = CON_SHOW.
    L0OP AT SCREEN.
    CHECK SCREEN-GROUP1 = u2019MODu2019.
    SCREEN-INPUT = u20190u2019.
    MODIFY SCREEN.
    ENDLOOP.
    ENDMODULE.
The memory table SCREEN contains each field of the current screen together with its
    attributes.
The LOOP AT SCREEN statement puts this information in the header line of this system
    table.
In this example taken from transaction tz50, if the user chooses Display then SCREENINPUT
is set to u20190u2019 and all fields belonging to the MOD group thus become display-only
    fields.
Because attributes have been changed, the MODIFY SCREEN statement is used to write
the header line back to the table.

    Hi,
You can hide the fields like this..
    For example
    select-options:
    s_carrid for spfli-carrid modif id gr1,
    s_connid for spfli-connid modif id gr1,
    s_cityto for spfli-cityto modif id gr2.
I am going to hide last fied..To do this
    at selction-screen output.
if s_carrid is initial or s_connid is initial.
    loop at screen.
    if screen-group1 CS 'GR2'.
    screen-active = 0.
    modify screen.
    endif.
    endloop.

  • How to make screen field enable when table control gives an error

    Hi,
I had a scneario like when table control data wrong then one parameter of the screen should be enabled for the input, i knew that screen-name will not work since it will have always table control fields only when table control gives an error.
How to make the other parameter enable when table control throws an error.
    Regards,
    Jaya

    Hi Gobi,
Thanks for your response, but issue is - how to make other screen fields enable when there was an error in the table control data.
For table control - lets say we will use the code as i mentioned above.i am sure that we cant write the code for field enable in between loop & endloop.
as you said if we right outside the loop-endloop, the module wont be triggered when table control throws an error, because that statement was not there in the loop-endloop.
please let me know if you need any more information on the issue. I hope there is alternative for this in SAP.
    Thanks
    Jaya
