Problem in updating screen field.

Hi all,
We have a requirement to fill a blank screen field in table control in the screen by taking the value of one of the other fields in the same screen.I have used DYNP_VALUES_READ to read value from one screen field of the screen and DYNP_VALUES_UPDATE to update the read value in another screen field in table control of the same screen.I am able to read the value but unable to update value.
Flow logic.
Value in the ‘Project #’ field should be updated in the ‘Partner field’ column in the table control on selecting ‘Sold-To-Party, option. I have created field exit for ‘Sold-To-Party’ field and in the field exit function module I have written the code.
Thanks and regards
Kiran Vangalapati

It depends on how you have your table control set up.  When you say that you are updating the table control field, are you updating the value of the field wherever the table control data is being pulled from (I.e. the original table)?  Or are you updating the value in the internal table that is part of the table control definition (I.e. the field shown within the table control if you look at the screen layout)?  Make sure that if you are changing the data in the original table that you then also update the actual table control fields as well.  Also, are you making your changes in the PBO module before the screen is ever displayed?  You may need to use a MODIFY SCREEN statement after you make your changes, depending on when your code is called.  I hope this helps.

    Hi,
Use this type of logic. Though this code is for selection-screen, but you can use this type of logic for screens by using screen table and implement this logic in PAI.
    REPORT z_sdn.

    Hi Manfred,
Replace all the DYNP_VALUES_UPDATE-related content by the following statement:
    SET USER-COMMAND 'xxx'.
While DYNP_VALUES_UPDATE does update the fields, a roundtrip is not triggered so the content of the fields will not be refreshed. The SET USER-COMMAND does that.
    Hope this helps you!

  • Problem with Update Text fields in Infoset

    Hi experts,
Here i would like to rephrase the question. Normaly while working with Infosets, when press "update text fields" button, those fields having text is updated. But one of my field is not updated. I need some help from you for that.
One more question i've that my field is having check table so i would like to know how exactly the text field is updated.
    scenario.
Customized IT9320 has field prt_pos added. This field is having check table T528B. But i want text field to be attached is IT1000-STEXT.
How this can be done, because i suspect that just using check table field IT1000-STEXT is not attached to IT9320-prt_pos.
Please help. I'm really got stuck here.
    Thanks a lot,
    Toral.
    Hi,
I'm working on customised Infotype. I need to add one new customised field ie Present Position. This field has number as well as text associated with it. There is a check table attached with this field so that text can be displayed alongwith number.
I need this field in SAP/Adhoc query. But when i go to SQ02 this fields shows only value. Text is disabled for this field. I'm not sure why is it so.
I looked into other infotype which as one field using same data element, and that field shows both value as well as text. Please help me to rectify this issue for present position field.
    Thanks,
    Toral.

You would be much better off with one multi-line form field.
There are many problems with trying to determine when one is at the end of the display field with text entry.

  • Problem with numeric screen field....

    hi,
       I've gotta situation that,
In sales order we gotto determine WBS element(ps_psp_pnr) based on some conditions, if none of the condition is satisfied then the 'project definition'(prps-pspid) has to be concatenated with '.99' and displayed as WBS element.
Now the actual problem is, WBS element is of numeric character type whereas the projectdefinition(pspid)+.99 is of charcter type. So it throws me a dump. Even then, the screen field of WBS element doesnt shows any non numeric character and shows error message.
So how do i overcome this situation? Can anyone help me? Its quiet urgent.
Prompt answeres will be rewarded with points.
    with regards,
    praveen.

    Hi Praveen,
If you take SE16 and PRPS, you can see how SAP store it internally and show externally. In the first screen where it shows the line items, the WBS element value is the one stored internally and if you double click and see the WBS value in the next screen it is the one showed in the transaction screen.
For the conversion routine, even if the parameters are type less, you have to pass the variable with type.
    For example
    data: w_POSNR type PS_POSNR,
          w_wbs(8).
    w_wbs = '123.55'.
    CALL FUNCTION 'CONVERSION_EXIT_ABPSP_INPUT'

  • BLOBDestination. Problem in updating BLOB field

    hi,
Im trying to customize BLOBDestination package to update a BLOB field. So I modified the method insertBLOB replacing the insert statement with this
    stmtStr = "UPDATE " + " " + tab + " " + "SET "+ "'" blobCol "'=" + "'" + "empty_blob()" + "'"+ "WHERE " + "'"+keyCol+"'=" + "'" + key+ "'" ;
    stmt.executeUpdate(stmtStr);
calling BLOBDestination from form I got this stmtStr:
UPDATE MYTABLE SET blob_field=empty_blob() WHERE col1 = 'val1' (copied from OC4J_BI_Forms log file)
but the execution returns this error:
REP-50125: blobdestination : exception: java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00933: SQL command not properly ended
I can affirm that the statement works if executed from TOAD or SQL*Plus
    what's wrong?

  • Fetch screen fields Line item wise

    Hi All,
I have a requirement where i've to display some popup messages based on some conditions in MIGO transaction when POST button is clicked.
For that i have done certain changes in a BAdI IF_EX_MB_MIGO_BADI~POST_DOCUMENT .
But i require to read the screen field for G/L account ie GOITEM-KONTO of screen number 0345.
the G/L account can be accessed thru internal table IT_MSEG-SAKTO in the method, but the problem is the screen field has been left blank and when POST is clicked, by the time this BAdi is reached, the value is filled. And i need to add few codes only when the screen field has been left blank.
I found out FM - DYNP_VALUES_READ . But this reads only header screen data, so i'm unable to retrieve the line item wise G/L account screen values.
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Ateet

    Hi Petr,
I dont think u read the question properly.
The problem is the screen field has been left blank and when POST is clicked, by the time that BAdi is reached, the value is filled. And requirement is to execute some part of code only when the screen field for G/L account is left blank/not blank. I want screen field value , not the value which is in IT_MSEG.
While giving inputs in MIGO screen it is blank but by the time it reaches the BAdI where i've written the code its getting filled. I want the values from screen just before it gets filled.
I was hoping to find some FM like DYNP_VALUES_READ which fetches screen elements line item wise too.
I think i will have to try n search a different BAdI where i can get the screen values b4 updation.

  • DYNP_VALUES_UPDATE does not change the value of my screen fields

In handle_user_command I check the values of a column in my ALV - I have 3 possible cases : a green led, a yellow led or a red led.

  • Adding New Screen Fields Through BDT

    Hi All,
In BP transaction there is a concession tab. i want to add 2 new screen fields from z table.
i have added from z table in that concession tab.
But The problem is that screen fields are coming in the last line.but where as i need those all new fields in right corner of first and second lines of the existing fields .plz.. help me
    Thanks Inadvance ,
    Siva Kumar

    Hi Vishnu
I suggest to use EEWB for adding the new field. Follow the following steps
    1. Run Transaction EEWB (Easy Enhancement Work Bench)
    2. Create new Project.
    3. Select the relevent Z package.
    4. Create Customizing and Workbench Requests.
    5. Select table BUPA
    6. Select the type of field you require (single or table) and follow the wizard.
The new fields will appeare on a new tab "Customer Data" on BP Screen.
The Screen Name and Sequence can then be changed with VCT.
    Precautions:
    1. Your user must have developer's key privilages.
    2. There should not be any users working on the system when you are doing this activity.
    3. The workbench request created is client independent. The customization request created is client specific.
    4. The process is reversable and does not get effected by patch upload.
    hope this may help.
    Cheers
    Avi
