Hierarchy in workspaces

Hi,
In the same manner of eRooms, is it possible to create hierarchy in workspaces? Is it possible to create different levels of workspaces: workspaces and sub-workspaces.
For exemple, that means, that messages or documents created in the super-workspace will be visible in sub-workspaces, but messages or documents created in the sub-workspace will stay limited to it and not visible in the super-workspace.
Thank you for your help,
Best regards,
Alex

I believe that this is not possible (I confess I never tried and I did not find anything in the documentation).

  • Workspace refresh cascading

    Hi there,
We're trying to create a setup where we have a linear hierarchy of workspaces (A is a child of LIVE, B is a child of A) that would allow us to phase propagating the changes from the LIVE environment to the other workspaces in a controlled fashion.
However, we're noticing something that does not work as expected (based on our understanding of the documentation): when refreshing A from LIVE, the changes make it into B, too. Since we're refreshing only A (and none of the workspaces are created with the continuously refresh mode), we'd expect the changes to stop at A and to only move to B when B is explicitly refreshed.
Are we missing something fundamental here? We checked the workspaces creation documentation several times, but it does not mention the changes being propagated to the ancestors when refreshing a workspace, so this looks like a bug to us. We're using 10.2.0.4.3, BTW.
    Please advise.
    Best regards,
    Babacu

    Hi,
This is expected behavior. When using the default behavior of dbms_wm.RefreshWorkspace, the parent version of the workspace being refreshed is modified to point to the current version of its parent workspace. This will cause any child workspaces to be refreshed at the same time. If you only would like to refresh the one workspace, and not any of its children, then you can set the copy_data parameter to true, which will copy all of the required rows into the workspace being refreshed, and leave its children workspaces unaffected.

  • Query Regarding DTR ?

    Hi,
Can we maintain non java code (for ex: word documents, VB projects etc...) in DTR?
Is there a stand alone version of DTR which can be installed on client and used for check in and check out of the resources? ( not through Netweaver Developer Studio on Client Machines )
    Thank You

    Hi Reed,
Although a "slim" client would be ideal, the corporate users can also use only the DTR Perspective in NWDS to store their documents (or VB projects). The Eclipse architecture ensures that plugins are loaded on demand - so although NWDS contains many plugins, these will not be loaded so the memory footprint should not be so high.
To work with documents (or other projects), you need to proceed as follows:
    1) Create a "Client" in DTR
    2) Create a suitable hierarchy of "Workspace Folders","Workspaces" and "Folders"
    3) Sync the empty folders to local machine, and under these folder place the files (and folders) you wish to add to DTR
    4) Refresh the "Repository Browser", and you will see these "new" files and folders.
    5) USe the context menu to "Add" these files/folders to an activity, and checkin the activity.
So you do not need a "project" in NWDS to store things in DTR - you can work purely from the DTR Perspective, and use it as a version control system to store your files of any kind.
    Hope that helps.

  • Proxy error while running the financial report in workspace.

    Hi,
We are using the Hyperion financial reporting 9.3.1 with Essbase as a data source.

    Hi Iain,
We are using Microsoft Internet explorer 6.0. I am not sure about the 'proxy' (As we don't have any proxy setting in Tool--> Internet options--> connection--> LAN setting). We are accessing the Workspace and FR studio via Citrix application. How can I check the proxy.
Also, I noticed one more point, Report has prompt for seleting 'Account hierarchy'.If we run the report only for one account hierarchy, report is returning the data but while running for multiple account hierarchy, it is throwing the 'Proxy error' as memtioned above.
    Please help us on this.

  • In Adobe Bridge, how can I display keywords in their hierarchy, do an "aka" keyword assignment, and perform multi-value keyword searches?

    Hi Bridge Geniuses!
I need your help. I am using Bridge to sort and keyword a pretty big photo archive. I have created a pretty long nested hierarchy (4 layers deep, max) and, for a few reasons, would like the parent tags to be automatically included when I indicate a sub-tag.  The problem I have now is that the keyword list is distractingly long and organized alphabetically. My first question is this: is there a preference setting in Bridge that will ask the program to display the keywords in their hierarchy? That is, will Bridge present the list as, for example, cars à hybrids à Toyotas à Prius.
My second question is: if I have two or more names that represent the same keyword, is there an “aka” function in this program that will allow me to direct searches for two or more different words to the same keyword entry? (For example, if I want my searches for “Bruce Wayne” to also show entries marked as “Batman.”)
Finally, I would like to know if Bridge will perform keyword searches for more than one word at a time. So far, I have tried entering two keywords with overlap at a time, separated by a space or a comma or a semicolon, and the search comes up empty.
Thank you very much for your help!

I reset my custom workspace and all seems to be well now. My keywords now show, the number of photos each applies to and I can again search.
    Thank you.

  • Enable/disable fields in Workspace form

Okay here is my scenario. I need to disable some fields on a form depending on which user logs onto workspace to open the same form.
    1. User1 logs onto workspace and opens leave request form, fields at the top of the form are enabled for the user to fill out, bottom fields which are for leave request administrator to fill out are disabled but visible.
    2. User1 fills out top portion of leave request form and completes form. Workflow sends form to leave request administrators "To do" list in Workspace.
    3. Administrator opens up submitted form in Workspace and sees User1's filled out data on the form and the bottom fields are now enabled for administrator to approve or dissaprove. Bottom fields only include two check boxes, two text fields and one date field.
Now how is this done? I am sure their maybe scripting involved? if so what is it and at what events in the form? Is this whole process done in the form or through Admin UI or Workebench as well? Please help!!!!!!!!!

    Hi Rahat,
You can use the same form and enable/disable some fields according to the user's role with only little scripting. Review the steps the below:
1-First place a hidden field ("user_role") in your form
2-Insert a script object into your form onder "Variables" in object hierarchy and write a script for enabling/disabling the fields (regarding the value of "user_role")
3-On the initialize and change events of the "user_role" call your script object
4-On your process design, put a SetValue service before User tasks. In the asssignment you should set the desired user_role to the form, so that the script is triggered in your form and the fields are enabled/desiabled
Fro further needs on your form or process design you can contact us from: http://www.kgc.com.tr/company_Contact.html

  • Error While Opening dataform after creating Planning Unit Hierarchy

    Hi All,
I created a Planning Application through classic wizard. Then i created a planning unit hierarchy, after which I am getting the following error: (when i try to open a dataform, from some user other than admin/owner)
*"Security and/or filtering has resulted in a required dimension not being represented on this data form"*
I know that this error occurs when some dimension members are represented on dataform but are not assigned with security rights. But thats not the problem in my case. Because I assign security rights to all members of all dimension just for the sake of testing. I later on identifed that this error occurs due to dimensions present in POV i.e. I need to select a single member of each POV dimensions, then in such case this error disappears.
Now my question is that why i need to select a single member from each POV dimension? I general i leave POV dimensions as it is, while creating dataform
Right now i aad a dummy member at the top of each dimension, e.g Account_UnSpecified, Entity_UnSpecified and so on . . . and then i select this member from each of POV dimension.

    Hi,
You can try creating new Root folder and new workspace for your NWDS.
    1.  Create a new folder with name ' <userID>_NWDS_NEW_ROOT ' in your machine
    2. Create a new folder with name ' <userID>_NWDS_NEW_WORKSPACE ' in your machine
    3. Open NWDS (and logon to DTR)
    4. Remove all configurations from your Development Configuration perspective (except 'Local Development')
    5. Go to Window --> Preferences --> Java Development Infra --> Development Configurations
    6. Change 'Root Folder' to the folder created in step-1
    7. Close NWDS
    8. Create ' Run_NWDS.bat ' file in your NWDS installation folder which has 'SapIde.exe' file
(it will be generally in --> C:\Program Files\SAP\IDE\IDE70\eclipse)
    9. Type following in .bat file -->
SapIde.exe -data "<complete path to folder created in step-2>"
    10. Now double click on this .bat file to open NWDS
Now logon to DTR, import configuration, create project from 'inactive DCs' and you should be able to create project and see it in respective perspective.

  • Value based hierarchy 11g question

    Hi,
in my BMM i've created a level based hierarchy composed of two levels: TOTAL and Audiologist
Total level is setted as Grand Total level and doesn't have logical columns.
At audiologist level insted i drag and drop two logical columns: Audiologist Code and Audiologist Name
    Then i created two keys.
First Key: Audiologist Code - Use to display: None
Second Key: Audiologist Code and Audiologist Name - Use to display : YES
Graphically my hierarchy is as follow:
    Total-----
    Audiologist
    Audiologist Code
    Audiologist Name
Now i would like that if i drill down Total appear simultaneously two columns: Audiologist Code and Audiologist Name.
Is it possible? I remember that in 10 it was.
    It's quite urgent.
    Thanks

Based on my experience of OWB10gR2 the option to create a "Value Based" hierarchy is only enabled if you create an AW based OLAP model. If you want to create a ROLAP model then I do not think this is possible.
Question is why create a ROLAP model when you could get better performance and more powerful analytical features by using a multidimensional model within an analytic workspace.

  • How to use HIERARCHY in OLAP_TABLE function

    Hello,
I am new to OLAP and I don't really know what is the exact syntax to look at this cube by using sql and OLAP_TABLE function.
I have defined a analytic workspace called 'MANUAL' by using Analytic Workspace Manager. Inside I have defined a simple dimension 'DIM_PERIOD'.
    I have 4 levels ('YEAR', 'QUARTER','MONTH','YEAR_MONTH'), 1 hierarchy ('PERIOD') and 6 attributes ('YEAR','QUARTER','MONTH_CODE','MONTH_LONG','MONTH_SHORT',
'YEAR_MONTH'). Every attribute is linked to one level of the hierarchy..
I would like to build the correct sql statement to see all my dimension.
I have already build the following :
create type awperiod_row AS OBJECT (
    tyear VARCHAR2(4000),
    tquarter VARCHAR2(4000));
    create type awperiod_table as table of awperiod_row;
    Select *
    from table (OLAP_TABLE(
    'manual DURATION SESSION',
    'awperiod_table',
    'DIMENSION tyear from dim_period));
This is giving me all different level in only one column.
If I introduce 'WITH HIERARCHY PERIOD' I have an error saying PERIOD is not an object of Manual.
Is there somebody who can help me ?
I am expecting the following simple result :
    Year Quarter Monthshort
    2005 1 Jan
    2005 1 Feb
    2005 1 Mar
    2005 2 Apr
Note also the definition and the data of my dimension is good. I can see the correct contain by using Analytic Workspace Manager
    Thanks already

The answer to your overall question is that you should use the familyrel keyword in your limitmap, once per level that you want represented as a column (or a single reference along with the USING clause). You would also need to reference these new columns in your ADT.
But before you start using familyrel, you'll need to discover why you can't specify a hierarchy. My guess is that period is not the name of the hierarchy in the Analytic Workspace. You can list all available hierarchies by using OLAP Worksheet (available in AWM) and typing "listnames relations aw period".
It is somewhat difficult to be more specific without more detailed knowledge of the underlying Analytic Workspace.
    Thanks.

  • Parent-child hierarchy (Value based hierarchy)

As anyone created a parent-child hierarchy using Oracle Warehouse Builder or Analytic Workspace Manager. I am using Oracle 10g Rel2 (and AWM) and OWB 10g Rel2.
The values in the dimension table defines the hierarchy.
I don't see an option of creating a value-based hierarchy in OWB though it is mentioned that it supports this particular hierarchy.
In AWM, I am able to create the hierarchy but when I try to view the data in the dimension it gives an error BIB-9531 Invalid hierarchy specified.
Can you please let me know if I am missing something.
    Thanks a lot in advance!
    Regards,
    Maruthi

I've done some work with this, and it hasn't been easy going. There is no built-in ability to form a hierarchy of measure columns, at least nothing that can be predefined as the drill for a fact column. For example: I have 220 details of expense that have an exact arrangement with 5 levels and subtotals. Besides the expense detail there are say 4 dimensions, so the expense detail would be the 5th dimension. I have both arrangements in my rpd: 4D and 5D. They can be used together or separately. The 4D basically has 1000's of measures and there is no relationship between them besides the display arrangement in Answers. The 5D has a 5 column dimension that can drill the expense column from Total_Expense down to the 220 rows of detail expense.

  • Performance issues logging on to Workspace 11.1.2.1

    Hi All,
We have a distributed install of 11.1.2.1 (2 HSS, 3 PLN, 3HFM, 3 Workspace, 2 FDM servers) and facing significant performance issues:
    - Logging on to the Workspace as an external user takes 5 min
    - Logging on to the AAS console as an external user takes over 2 min
    - Opening HBRs in AAS takes a couple of minutes
    - Logging on to HSS as an external user takes over a min
Logging on as a native user takes around 30 seconds.
We have disabled compoments we do not use under the Workspace server properties and applied patch Set Exception (PSE): 13327628 which addressed the following perfomance issues:
    • 12913216 – Intermittent login error is observed while attempting to log into EPM System Workspace. Workspace displays the error message “You must supply a valid User Name and Password to log onto the system.” However, user can log in by clicking OK.
    • 13341789 – Poor login performance (delay of 3-5 minutes) is observed at the first user login if Workspace web application has been inactive for an hour. Subsequent login performance is not impacted.
    • 13388864 – In deployments where a firewall is configured to time out idle applications (for example, after 30 minutes) users can login once, but subsequent login times out.
In Shared Services we have also set Evict Interval and Allowed Idle Connection Time to 5 mins.
Is there anything else we could try to improve performance?
    Thanks for your help.
    Regards
    Seb

If you already have deactivated the non used services from WS, it's weird. As I can see you may be using an external directory for authenticating, check on these.
    * have you checked the response time from the external directory... sometimes for example in Active directory the user hierarchy is too complex to navigate on it. you can use an LDAP tester to see
    * Are you using SSL? if yes, try wtihout SSL
    * For workspace Start the non used services, and activate back the services in the WS to see if there it improves with all the apps up ( this will help you to narrow the debugging)
    * go directly to java based servers, for instance in the shared services server go directly to the port 28080 for interop, instead of going by http server and check if you can login quick or not. This will help you also to isolate the issue (if it's related or not to Workspace).
Hope this help u to narrow your search

  • How to fix ORA-33262: Analytic workspace MY_AW does not exist ?

Here is my version of : http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/olap.112/e10795/select.htm#CBBGEGFA
I don't understand why I get this ORA-33262, it just does not make sense ...
The API should be doing AW ATTACH MYSCHEMA.MY_AW RO
Solution 1 : The DBA in my team thinks there is no way for her to create a synonym (or something like that) for the MYSCHEMA.MY_AW so I (the API) can use only MY_AW, anyone knows a way to do it ?
Maybe the second call to _displayResult() needs to ATTACH the AW while the first does not ...
Solution 2 : How could I specify to the API to use MYSCHEMA.MY_AW instead of MY_AW ?

Oups, sorry when posting, I always try to get ride of names specific to my application/company, I forgot to change CENSUS for MY_AW in the error message
In particular it is attaching the AW named CENSUS, but is complaining about MY_AW. I have a few questions.
    (1) In which AW does your PRODUCT_AWJ dimension live? CENSUS or MY_AW?
    I don't use PRODUCT_AWJ (I kept the comments from Oracle's example), at line 8, I use dimension.getName() instead
This dimension lives in the AW named "MY_AW"

Using AWM, I tried to do the command "AW ATTACH MY_AW RO", it does not work, I get the same ORA error, I've to use "AW ATTACH MYSCHEMA.MY_AW RO"

    No, sorry again, my mistake

Not to my knowledge, the DBA knows I've this problem, so she should have tought about it ... I'll ask her just in case

  • Creating a Analytic Workspace

    hi,
i use the AWM 10.2.0.3.Now I want to create a analytic workspace without the AWM, but i want to see the things what I have created in him. I Know that I can use the dbms_aw package to create an aw and for the dimensions and so on the dbms_awm package. For the OLAP Catalog Metadata I want to use the cwm2 package. How I have understood I must first create the Metadata for the OLAP Catalog with the cwm2 package and then I can define the dimensions with the dbms_awm. Is that right???
    At first I have defined a aw with the command: execute dbms_aw.execute ('aw create ''myaw''');
After this I want to create the OLAP Catalog Metadata for the dimension Placement, but by creating the mappings he brings an excepiton and I don't know why.

After this procedures I want to create and refresh the dimensions with the command:
    execute dbms_awm.create_awdimension ('GLOBAL','PLACEMENT','GLOBAL','MYAW','AW_PLACE');
    execute dbms_awm.refresh_awdimension('GLOBAL','MYAW','AW_PLACE);
I hope someone can follow me what I want to do.
    Thanks

  • Hierarchy functions and OLAP

    Hi,
In 11.1.1.5, did anyone succesfully use hierarchy navigation functions "IsDescendant" or "IsChild" in derived logical column mapped to OLAP dimension?
    What works for me:
    - "IsLeaf" function for both OLAP and relational db
    - "IsDescendant" / "IsChild" only for relational db
I tried to use "IsDescendant" / "IsChild" in column formula ("Derived from existing column using an expression") and refer to value based hierarchy in OLAP cube. My expression is:
    CASE WHEN Ischild("OLAP_TEST"."ORG_STR" , 18158) Then 1 Else 0 End
In Analytics I get error message: ORA-34492: Analytic workspace object MAIN_HIERARCHY does not exist.
Correct me if I'm wrong but error message seems irrelevant, because I can succesfully use "IsLeaf" function on the same OLAP logical dimension.
I am wondering if I am doing something wrong or it's a bug.
