Hi,
When can we expect Hierarchy Viewer component that is used here: http://rea.oracle.com/faces/index . It will be accessible as update to current ADF RC version or we must wait for the next release of JDeveloper ?

  • Problem with image in Hierarchy Viewer component

    Hi All,
    I am using Hierarchy Viewer component in my application developed in Jdeveloper 11.1.1.6.0
    Actually, my requirement is to pick the name of the "content id" stored as a value in a field in the table. Hence written code as follows, which is not showing the image.
    <af:image id="img3"
    inlineStyle="border-color:Black; border-width:1px; width:85px;height:120px;"
    source="#{documentsService.latestReleasedVersionURL['UUCM#dDocName:#{node.EmpImage}']}"
    rendered="true"/>
    Please help me out ....
    Thanks & Regards

    Timo,
    It is supposed to pick up the image from the content server and display on the page.
    I have tried the following, it worked.
    1) Checked in the image in the content server with content id : SAMPLE_IMG
    2) modified the code as
    <af:image id="img3"
    inlineStyle="border-color:Black; border-width:1px; width:85px;height:120px;"
    source="#{documentsService.latestReleasedVersionURL['UUCM#dDocName:SAMPLE_IMG']}"
    rendered="true"/>
    Now that, I want to store the value "SAMPLE_IMG" in a field in a table, and want my application to pick up that value.

  • 11.1.2 HTML Hierarchy Viewer, how?

    Hi,
    first of all, 11.1.2 is great job Oracle, congrats! It really opens new possibilities for ADF.
    That said, I don't understand how to render hierarchy viewer in html? The documentation states:
    "By default, the hierarchy viewer component renders in a Flash Player. When Flash 10 or higher is not available on the client or for the purpose or printing, the hierarchy viewer is rendered in HTML."
    I disabled flash and all I get is a note I should install it. What am I missing? Thanks.

    Hi Jernej,
    HTML HV is available in 11.1.2.
    You can configure the use of Flash content across the entire application by setting a flash-player-usage context parameter in adf-config.xml.
    Please read this section in the doc:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E16162_01/web.1112/e16181/ap_config.htm#BHCHJICG
    You can use the "disabled" setting, or "downgrade" in a browser that doesn't have Flash player installed in order to see the HTML HV. It is also used for the printable page mode.
    Hope this helps

  • Hierarchy Viewer - with a separate search page

    I would like for my search page to be separate than the one that contains the hierarchy viewer component.
    But, when a click on a row in the table produced on the search page, I would like it to trigger a search on the page with the hierarchy viewer based on the selected data.
    I am using version 11.1.2.3.0.
    Can you direct me to a example or documentation that could help?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    why don't you use a View Criteria, drag and drop it as a search form, then after querying the search form, navigate to the next page where you have the hierarchy viewer based on the same top-level ViewObject? This then will show the filtered data from the first screen. However, what it doesn't allow you to do this way is to filter on a second node level of the viewer

  • JDev 11.1.2.3.0 and ADF Hierarchy Viewer - Lazy Loading?

    Hi,
    I have a simple application that shows data from one table using the Hierarchy Viewer component.
    My table has more than 100,000 rows.
    It appears that the control tries to query all data at once and never loads.
    I have reduced the number of rows to 5K and it works.
    So, is there a way that I can configure the control/application to only retrieve data from the database for a particular node, when a node is expanded?
    thanks for your help.

    Thanks,
    I changed the Hierarchy Viewer's property called "Content Delivery" to lazy.
    This is found in the Behavior section.
    That appears to have resolved the issue.

  • Three levels hierarachy - hierarchy viewer data visualization component

    I am not getting the third level when i am using the hierarchy viewer....any pointers will be a great help
    Edited by: Deepak Subramanian on Jan 22, 2010 5:34 AM

    oops sorry if i sounded vague....
    using jdev version 11g
    well I am trying to use the hierarchy viewer data visualization component to create a hierarchy which shows the managers and employees below them.
    am using a single query based VO which has two columns manager and employee.
    then created a self view link with that vo
    the data control looks something like
    manager(first level)
    ----manager or employee(first level)
    ---------employee(third level)
    I am dragging entire data control on the page so that the create hierarchy viewer option appears.
    from there I am stuck...
    when I am running the page, I am getting just two levels...the last level is not showing up :(.....

    Unfortunately, the application is for work. So, I am not using the HR schema.
    I was asked to evaluate the tool as part of a pilot effort to determine its usefulness.
    So, I downloaded Oracle Essentials for the evaluation.
    We do not have a support license.
    I believe some modification of a View Object caused the issue.
    The application was working great since I started using the tool a few weeks ago.
    My hope is that the stack trace will provide enough information to understand the root cause and corrective action.

  • Creating a Hierarchy Viewer query

    Hello,
    I'm having huge difficulties creating a Hierarchy Viewer Query. I've looked through the source code contained withing the demo, but it seems to require great knowledge regarding the component. I'm using a three-node model, each node grouped within it's parent.
    So I created a custom View to be used as a result list for the query and this part is working just fine. I can pick the unique ID for the node I want from the search results when the user selects one, but I don't know how I can make that specific node my "anchor", my "current node", after that.
    Since I'm looking for a specific "contact_id" selected from the search results, I think the correct way of doing it is finding it's node on the TreeModel, and then setting it as my current anchor.
    Please, any tips, directions or suggestions on how can I go about doing this?
    Thanks!!

    Hi!
    Thanks for the attention, but I've been through all the basic stuff. The HV documentation only teaches the most primitive part of it. I searched all blogs related to HV, all articles I could find, I've meddled with the demo source code and all I can think of, but I couldn't find anyone who would give much insight on the mechanics of the component or how to build a really powerful search engine for it.
    As a sugestion for the developer team, it would be great if the query for this component allowed us to specify actions to be performed on all levels of the tree, instead of only the root node, since most of the time people use HV as a multi-root tree.

  • Hierarchy VIewer - Card only on Leaf nodes

    I am using version 11.1.2.3.0.
    Is there a way to show a Card only on the leaf nodes of the Hierarchy VIewer?
    I have information that only applies to the nodes on the very bottom of the tree.
    Thanks in advance.

    This should be possible.
    I've not tested this but you can use the rendered property of the panelCard component and set it to an EL which evaluates to false is the node has children (node.hasChildren? or some other data which lets you know if you want to show the card).
    If this does not work you leaf the rendered property as is and use the visible or rendered property of the component which holds the information you only want to show in leaf nodes.

    I am using ADF Hierarchy Viewer in my application. I was trying to use a Image component inside one of its nodes. The image works fine if I use the image which is part of my application. If I use a remote image using its URI, it wont render the images. Is there something I am missing
    Thanks,

    By default, the Flash Player does not allow accessing images located on a domain other then the domain it was
    loaded from. You will need to set up a security override file (crossdomain.xml) on your server.
    You can Google to find more information on crossdomain.xml file.
    Here is one example:

  • Hierarchy Viewer and Drag Drop

    Hi I am new for ADF Hiearchy Viewe components. I am trying drag from ADF table rows to drop ADf Hierarchy viewer node and introduce by http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E28280_01/web.1111/b31973/dv_hviewer.htm here.
    1. can get selected rows from drag source ADF rich table and I couldn't get Drop Row Key. In my source some hierarchy node work and some are not work. sourc here.

    Where I missed? how to Selected rows assign to hierarchy viewer object? thanks juddi

    thanks for your reply shay. i am just trying to understand how a dvt HV could render in iPhone mobile browser (eg. iOS simulator) as its a part of ADF Faces components. as a part of mobile development we have only trinidad components available (not HV) and it renders in iOS simulator.
    I have tested a HV app (JDev 11.1.1.6) in Safari web browser and it works fine there. Please share your thoughts on this.

  • How to make Hierarchy view  fixed in marketing plan .

    Hi Gurus,
    I have a requirement to make the Hierarchy view  as fixed ie To remove the toggel functionality .
    Component MPL_MAIN .
    for which
    I removed the toggel button and make the view visible all the times .
    I have removed the button by commenting the code .
    but I am not sure how can I make the view always visible ?
    I can understand that i have to use the same code as the toggel event 'ONTOGGLEHIERARCHY'is using ,
    but where should I be putting that code so that it takes the  Hierarchy view at the time of initial loading .
    Thanks ,
    Naval Bhatt.

    Hi Naval,
    you can try putting this into the "DO_PREPARE_OUTPUT" Method of the Overview-View.
    Regards
    Dennis

  • Oracle ADF example of use of Single One Choice with Hierarchy Viewer

    I am using JDeveloper Studio 11.1.2.3.0.
    I am looking for a simple example where one can select a value from a Single One Choice component and have it drive a query
    for populating the Hierarchy Viewer.

    You can just use a VO with parameter as the base of your HV - then drag the executeWithParam operation to the page as a parameter form.
    And possibly add a list or LOV to the parameter.
    https://blogs.oracle.com/shay/entry/adding_an_lov_to_a_query_param
    Instead of the table in the video use the HV.

  • Hierarchy Viewer does not load after clicking on the + icon

    Premise: I have a hierarchy viewer with multiple levels of master-detail with different VOs.
    The inputs to the taskflow containing this page are the key and VO type. The tree should render until that VO which matches the type and key and all the next level children under it. The user can expand the nodes under these children at will to drill further.
    Issue: I am able to render the tree with results. When I click on the + icon to drill on the children, I see that the backend code for fetching the children is called. But, the tree does not display. It shows the loading icon forever.
    Example:
    Organization - PO - POItem - Vendor - VendorSite -VendorAddress
                                                           - Responsible - ContactDetails
                        - Project - SubProject - Location
    TaskFlow Input: Vendor, 12345
    The tree should dispaly Organization - PO - POItem - Vendor(12345) - VendorSite(for 12345)
                                                                                                        -Responsible(for 12345)
    If the user expands any of the VendorSites, the VendorAddresses should be shown
    Technical Details: JDeveloper Version: 11.1.2.1.0
    Code: To filter the children, I am overriding the CreateViewLinkAccessorRS in the VOImpls. I am passing bind variables to the VO criterion to check the paths.

    @Arunkumar: Yes, I ran the AM tester and I am able to see the results properly for all the VOs and levels.
    I created a sample on the HR Schema and tested. I see that when I click on the Employee node for expansion(can be checked with the data or the short description), it hangs with the load icon.
    I do not see anything in the log other than:
    <RegionRenderer> <encodeAll> The region component with id: r1 has detected a page fragment with multiple root components. Fragments with more than one root component may not display correctly in a region and may have a negative impact on performance. It is recommended that you restructure the page fragment to have a single root component.
    I do not see any upload options here to give my testcase. So, I uploaded to this link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vybip3owzuziz86/HRHierarchyViewer.zip
    Please let me know if I can do this elsewhere for easy access.

  • List view component not being ordered

    I am using the list view component to represent my table data. for creating a new row, i use a popup which has a separate taskflow in which i create a new row. Now i need to refresh the list view component after this new row is created. I am doing that using contextual events. I just re execute the query of the vo based on which the list view component is made. But in order to get the in memory rows, i set the view objects query mode to scan view rows as well as entity based rows. This however makes the vo query's order by clause to not work. I am not sure why but the list view data is no longer ordered.
    Also if anyone has any idea how to refresh the entire list view component, that is load data again, it would be of great help.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jithesh

    Hey,
    I'm new at this so i'm going to try to help (although it problably won't work or do what you want).
    You said you want to refresh the entire list view component, well, normally i have my views/data controls connected to a binding variable in my bean class and if i want to update something (lets say a selection) i use this code:
            AdfFacesContext adfFacesContext = AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance();
            adfFacesContext.addPartialTarget(dimFactSales);
    dimFactSales = variable binded to one of my views.
    Hope that helps,
    Frederico.
