hey, i need to reduce the precision of an array indicator, but when i go into the properties page i cant anywhere to change this. any solutions?

Well, you're not saying if you want to change the display format (e.g. fewer decimal digits) or the representation (e.g. DBL to SGL).
Anyway, for both scenarios you need to right-click on one of the array elements, not on the array container.

How can I return to the top of an array indicator

I have in my UI a 1D array indicator that I will navigate to and populate with different lists of items depending on other selections. Always text elements.
I have limited the number of visible rows to 20 max even though some lists will contain dozens if not hundreds of elements while others may have less than 10. Problem is, if I scroll down the list for one population, then come back and the next list happens to have only 10 elements, the scroll bar is still way down where I had scrolled to earlier. It is basically showing unpopulated positions in the array. (Not blank list items)
How can I return the scroll position back up to the first element in the array when I populate it with a new list? I looked through every property node and could find nothing. Seems like there should be a method to refresh the display or it should go back to the top when you write a new value to it.
Any thoughts?

Index Values, I think, is the property you are looking for. Set the index to 0 to be at the top.

Append each bit to the binary number (Not Array Indicator)

If i have the 8 Number control. Each Control represent each bit.
i.e. 0th control bit="1", 1th control bit="0", other bit = "0"....7th control bit ="1".
How to output the 1 binary number indicator. -->10000001

I had solved it.
i use true/false case to multiply each bit interial.
i.e. For 8 th bit. If =0, output to 0, if =1 (i.e not equal to 0), output 10000000
For 7 th bit. If =0, output to 0, if =1 (i.e not equal to 0), output 1000000
Final, use "OR" function to build into 1 binary number.
Please refer the attached graph.
Anyway, have the other fast way to do this result??

Easy question - Array indicator and control compatibility

I would like to multiply the contents of an array indicator by a factor (polimorphism allows the multiplication of an array by a number, right?) but the product requires that the array has to be a control.
How can I fixed this problem?. Thank you very much for your help,

I removed the Indicator from the build array - it wasn't necessary. Also, your final array is now 2D. See attached, I believe its what you're asking.

How can I change the precision of a numeric array indicator using property nodes ?

I want to change the precision of a numeric array indicator programatically using property nodes. I tried to see all the array properties but I couldn't find it. URGENT !!!

If you want to change the precision of an element in an array you must first get the reference to the array element. Then raise the reference to the more specific class of a digital numeric. Use a property node connected to that reference to set the precision. See the attached vi for an example.

Possible loss of precision - sorting 3 arrays respectively

I have the following 2 arrays which need to be sorted according to a high-to-low sorted float array called avg. So float avg[5] is sorted high-to-low, and then String names[] is sorted respectively, for instance, before the sort, names[3]="Marty" and avg[3]=75, and after the sort 75 was in avg[0] because it was the highest, now Marty needs to be in names[0]. The same is with the int scores[5][8] array, the 5 rows need to be sorted corresponding to the new sorted avg array. Anyways here are the arrays and the sorting code i have. I get the error "possible loss of precision." Also the code tag on the forums isnt working for some reason.

The first time I got that error I misread it and got very excited: "possible lots of precision."
Any way, you should point out the line where this occurs:
c=avg[r];Here, c is an int and avg[r] a float. When you assign a float to an int, you loose
the factional data, and as well, float have hold larger values than int. Why not make c a float?

The JSTL forEach tag.
In fact if all you want to do is iterate over the comma separated list, the forEach tag supports that without having to use the split function.

How to change the frequency of pulse train on the fly using an array of values?

First I want to thank U for the great job you are doing for this forum.
Iam still busy trying to control a stepper motor, by sending pulses from my E-series 6024 to a compumotor s6- stepper Driver. I've managed to get it working. I desperately need to control the motor using the values from an array. I believe we can use two approaches for that:
1st - I can get an array of the "numbers of pulses". Each element must run for 10 milliseconds. Using that we can calculate the array of frequencies to send the number of pulses within 10 milliseconds for each specific element. Could we use the arrays of "number of pulses" and frequencies in a "finite pulse train " and up
date with each element every 10 millisecond?
2nd - Or Could we use of the frequency array in a "continuous pulse train vi" and update it every 10 milliseconds?
Please note that I must use the values as they are.
Can someone please built a good example for me? Your help will be appreciated.

I will try to better explain the paragraph on LabVIEW. The original paragraph reads ...
"While in a loop for continuous pulse train generation, make two calls to Counter Set Attribute.vi to set the values for "pulse spec 1" (constant 14) and "pulse spec 2" (constant 15). Following these calls you would make a call to Counter Control.vi with the control code set to "switch cycle" (constant 7). The attached LabVIEW programs demonstrate this flow."
You can make two calls to Counter Set Attribute or you can make a call to Set Pulse Specs which, if you open this VI, you will see that it is just making two calls to Counter Set Attribute. What you are doing with the Counter Set Attribute VIs is setting two registers called "pulse s
pec 1" and "pulse spec 2". These two registers are used to configure the frequency and duty cycle of your output frequency.
The example program which is attached to this Knowledge Base demonstrates how to change the frequency of a continuous generation on the fly. Why continuous? Because changing the frequency of a finite train would be easy. When the train completes it's finite generation you would just change the frequency and run a finite train again. You would not care about the time delay due to reconfiguration of the counter.
If you would like to change the frequency of the pulse train using a knob, this functionality will have to be added in the while loop. The while loop will be continuously checking for the new value of the knob and using the knob value to set the pulse specs.
LabVIEW is a language, and as with learning all new languages (spoken or programatic) there is a lot of learning to be accomplished. The great thing is that LabVIEW is much easier than mo
st languages and the learning curve should be much smaller. Don't fret, you'll be an expert before you know it. Especially since you're tackling a challenging first project.

Can I know the precision and scale of a decimal field using ACEDAO?

Using ACEDAO in VC++, I am trying to retrieve the field details of an Access database (.accdb file) table of which one field is of decimal type. I am able to get the details using the functions of

I could not find any function for retrieving the value for precision and scale for the decimal field.
Though I am able to retrieve the field value as a decimal number and get the required information from the structure, I think it is not the right way. Because, what will happen if the data for field is not available in the table?
Is there any other method to retrieve the precision and scale of a decimal type field using ACEDAO?

I cannot find a method or property in ACEDAO to retrieve the precision and scale of a field. Maybe you could try get the number of a decimal type and use some mathematical methods to get the precision.
I find there are some way to get the precision by ADO or OLEDB.

How can i change the label of an array controller in the xib file

I have seven instances of NSArrayController in my main xib file; they are all labled 'Array Controller' and I cannot change the label in the list of objects. I can change the label in the identity inspector, but the label still remains 'Array Controller' in the list of objects. If I double-click on the label that is in the list and change the label its value changes in the identity inspector when I tab out of the label field but the label reverts to 'Array Controller' in the list of objects. I'll never be able to keep the seven controllers straight in my head. Is there a solution?

The problem is was in Xcode, while editing the xib file. After many back and forth jumps (between Xcode and this composer for the discussion) and many attempts to relabel the array controllers over two hours, the changes have appeared just as I want. I hate it when that happens (who likes egg on their face?)
