How do I set up my iMac to act as the Web Server? I want my family and friends to be able to access my web page from my home computer/ip address.
PS, I am with Sympatico and I'm behind a router.

You can try to use "Forget About This Site" in the History (right-click context menu in Library or sidebar) to remove all data from a website including possible exceptions.

I tries to upgrade from 3.6.10 to 4.0 and a message appears stating that it can be opened on this server how do I get back to 3.6.10 your web site says I am running 3.6.10 but I don't know where to find that Icon

C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xuab2q88.default is the location of the cache folder for your default profile. If the updates folder isn't there then it looks that Firefox hasn't downloaded an update.
You can download the full version from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
Delete the Firefox program folder: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
That will remove all Firefox program files in case some are locked or protected by security software. 
That should allow you to install a full version of Firefox 3.6.10
Your Firefox profile data is stored elsewhere and won't be affected.

Today I clicked on a web site and the site appears in a separate behind the regular firefox browser. the "front" page goes the web site I want to go to, but the page "behind" will not go away. I can see the page behind on the far left hand side.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

I have an upgrade version of logic studio (9.1.1.) which I want to run on an imac with 10.7.4 osx Lion and after a seemingly successful install it's telling me that this version of logic studio isn't supported by my osx...Can someone help me with this?

I also want to add that I've found the updates to logic pro 9.1.2 thru 9.1.7. and when I download them they tell me they are either not needed or don't seem to actually update anything. Someone was saying that Logic Studio isn't a fan of Lion and I should install Snow Leopard, complete Logic updates and then re-install Lion. PLEASE HELP!!!

You're running an old version of Safari. Before troubleshooting, try updating it to the latest version: 6.0. You can do this by clicking the Apple logo in the top left, then clicking Software update.
You can also update to the latest version of OS X, 10.8 Mountain Lion, from the Mac App Store for $19.99, which will automatically install Safari 6 as well, but this isn't essential, only reccomended.

Headings and other print run into each other and I cnnot see all the print in some boxes on vrious web sites. I have removed and re-installed more than once.

copy on the web pages overlap.....headlines appear over other print.....link tabs are on top of each other. I have removed and re-installed Firefox many times. This does not happen with other browsers. Also, some web sites show sections that are off center.

How to get Firefox to remember your ID and password for signing in to a particular web site, when you have passed up the invitation to do so on your first visit and Firefox does not offer you a second chance.
Delete the particular web site you are interested in from your Bookmarks.
Go to Firefox Preferences: Privacy: check “Clear history when Firefox closes.”
Quit Firefox. Start Firefox again; uncheck “Clear history when Firefox closes.”
Go to the desired web site; Bookmark it; enter your ID and password.

How to set a New Tab as the start page in Firefox and lock in my choice of web sites

You may set the New Tab page Firefox shows when opening a new tab as its start page, and you can lock in the web sites you want displayed there.
I set my browser to open a New Tab as its start page and have locked in six destinations from which to choose on my start page.
First I open Firefox and open a new tab. Then I delete any open tabs other than this New Tab. Optionally, I can also set a second tab to open to a specific web site
Next I go to Tools and Options (or Edit and Preferences in Linux) and select the General tab on the far left. Click on
[Use Current Pages].
Each time I open Firefox it will open showing me the New Tab.
I can select from pages that I have already visited the six pages I want to have appearing on my New Tab every time. Supposing there are no pages locked in yet, and I don't want the site in the top left. I hit the X in its thumbnail's top right corner, it disappears and every other site thumbnail moves up and there is a new site appearing in the sixth slot. Note that if I have visited one page frequently, it may appear more than once, or be replaced by itself. If that happens, just keep deleting until the page you want shows up.
If I find a site that I want to save, then there is a thumbtack in the top left corner of the thumbnail. It is black, but if I click it it turns blue, and the thumbnail is a keeper.
This web site is in the second row, second over, but I want it to be up on the top row. Just drag and drop and the two sites exchange places. Make sure it has a blue thumbtack. The lock-down thumbtacks and delete X symbols appear in the top left and top right, respectively while the mouse is hovering over them.
It is possible to delete a saved site, and it is possible to undo the thumbtack. Simply click the X to delete or click the blue thumbtack to unlock the site and turn the thumbtack black.
You may choose to tack down a few sites and let the remainder float in and out, driven by your browsing history.
Through my use of this approach, I have instant access to my club's web site, two Webmail sites, and some other often-visited places on the Web, all in one start page.
About the only thing I really don't need there is a Google search box, for if I enter my search terms in the address bar I get the same result as if I had specifically typed in the search box.
Some add-ons, often potentially unwanted programs (PUPs), will replace the Firefox about:newtab (address of the New Tab) with eBay, Facebook, Twitter icons among others, and a different search engine. These icons may have a nicer appearance than the default Firefox New Tab, but you may also be looking at extra, unnecessary work for the computer, especially if behind the pretty icons there is a hidden agenda.
Personally, I would stay clear of these add-ons, and perform some scanning with an up-to-date antivirus and antimalware software.

If this is not a pinned (App) tab then the home page should open in that tab.

How do I resize a photo to attach it to someone else's web site

I want to add photo attachments to someone else's web site. my files are raw, off the camera i.e. big. I can easily resize if I email. but why can't find an easy way to downsize in iPhoto? what should I do?

The image you're viewing in iPhoto are jpeg versions of the RAW files. So all you need to do is drag it to the desktop and you will get a jpeg file of around 2-3 MBs depending on the RAW file size.
Or you can export as leonieDF has suggested while setting the compression level (Quality) and maximum pixel dimension to get the image and file size you need.

Sorry, the Flash plugin used by this site is not available for iPhone browsers like Firefox Home.
Web sites that want to show videos in Firefox Home for iPhone or Firefox 4 for Android will need to change their code to use the new HTML5 <video> tag instead of Flash or other plugins.

Facebook says that firefox does not re cognize other web sites for tagged photos.

I have firefox and when I get on facebook and use my profile to view photos that I have been tagged in. they do not show up. all comments show, but when I click on view photo, it tells me that firefox does not recognize other web sites and wants me to approve them. this has never happened to me till I updated to this fire fox.

If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.
*Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
*Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
*Check the exceptions in "Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions"
*Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).
If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "Block Images from..." then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.
Make sure that you do not block third-party images, the permissions.default.images pref should be 1.

Why has "Pin as App Tab" command disappeared when I right click on a web site?

Very much like FF4 and especially App Tabs. Today when I relaunched FF (1) App Tabs have disappeared (I have been reading how to keep them when I reopen FF) and (2) I no longer have a "Pin as App Tab" command when I right click on a web site I want to pin. Anyone got any clues? I am wondering if there is a conflict with Cooliris?
