Horizontal scroll in list box

Hi,
I have a list box as defined below.
<select name="lstSelect" class="selectControl" style="WIDTH=220px" size="15">
The width of the list box needs to be fixed and hence the style="WIDTH=220px" .
Now if i get a text which is longer than this width then it gets truncated in the list.
I would like to have a horizontal scrollbar in the list in such cases. Is this possible?
Thanks in advance,
Raghu

I don't think there is any way of making a list box scroll horizontally. But you can have a look at this...

  • Horizontal Scroll in list component

    Hi,
    I'm using a list component which is populated from a textbox.  I've set the horizontal scroll policy to auto and also to on however  the scroll either doesn't appear (in the case of auto) or doesn't move (in the case of on).  Is there a setting which I need to modify to have the horizontal scroll working normally?
    Thanks

    I tried the invalidate method as follows but nothing happened:
    mylist.invalidate();
    Not sure if I explained myself well, I just want the horizontal scrollbar to appear and be able to move it when one or more items in the list are long and thus not all visible...thanks

  • List box is not scrolling to the last item

    Hello all,
    I am developing a Windows Phone 8 application, in that I am using List box to display the data. I have requirement like once the page is launched user should navigate to the last item of the list box. For this requirement used scroolintoview method like LsbSample.ScrollIntoView(LsbSample.LastOrDefault).
    It is moving to the last item but not fully. It is showing last item around 60% but for remaining 40% I need to manually scroll the list box.
    Can any one help me to resolve this issue.
    Thanks in advance.

    It's likely a small bug. Can you try scrolling to the bottom of the scrollviewer's height instead?

    From an event structure, how do I select a cell in a multicolumn list box and use scroll horizontal on the front panel at the same time.  I can select a cell from the multicolumn in an event structure, but I cannot move the scroll bar on the front panel when the program is running.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    I'm assuming you're referring to the scrollbar in the multicolumn listbox. What is your code doing when you select a cell? Can you please post your code so we can see the behavior you're describing? It's possible that you're blocking the event structure, as in performing some long operation in the event that's handling the cell selection. In this case the event structure has to wait until the event completes before being able to respond to the next event. You can configure the event to not lock the front panel while waiting for the event to complete.

  • Horizontal Scroll bar in a list Box?

    Hi,
    I have a requirement in Adobe Designer where my List Box should also show Horizontal Scroll bar in it.
    Is it possible?
    Thanks.

    Thanks Debadas,
    But i need both (Horizontal & Vertical) the scroll bars and depending on the data length either or both should be visible, without changing the data visiblity or text rotation.

  • Horizontal scroll bar in AWT List

    I need to shrink the width of my list by putting a horizontal scroll bar. Does anyone know how to add one onto my list component

    The code looks like this. I can really use some help here.

    Not a JSP issue. Look up styles, CSS, and dynamic HTML. They should help.

  • Horizontal Scroll Box in Adobe Edge

    Hello!
    I am very new to html and css coding. I've been teaching myself adobe edge animate to build a website from scratch since it is very similar to After Effects, a program i am comfortable with.
    I was wondering how would i go about making a horizontal scroll container that would house image files.
    Here is an example: http://golfwang.com/fall-winter-2013-lookbook/
    This site translates very well to mobile as well, you can swipe with your fingers in either direction to get the box to scroll. Thank you in advance for any input on the subject.

    Thank you Zaxist.
    I actually ended up using your post from this thread to solve my problem: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1144336
    I just did everything you said, i took all my pictures and made them a symbol followed by changing the overflow size and setting it to auto.
    The only problem im getting now is it wont switch to the custom scroll bar. Does it specifically only work with Text? Like i said before, i have no knowledge of html or css, i just barely understand the concepts and where to drop in my div tags, etc.

  • Scroll bar error in list box

    Hello all,
    I work for a company using BI 7.0.
    We provide reports in Bex Web 7.0 to our users. They requested us for a problem in list box of selection (or filter).
    for example the user wants to filter on a characteristic. This characteristic has multiple possible values.
    He chooses a value on the first page of the list box. then he wants to select an other value and uses the scroll bar. So he clicks in the gap of the scroll bar in order to go to the next page of values. It happens correctly but we figured out that doing so the new page wasn't exactly the exact next values available.
    Indeed for example the first page displays 10 values (from 1 to 10) so by clicking in the gap we should go to the 10 next values 11 to 20 but it is not what is happening because the displayed values are 13 to 22, so the values 11 and 12 were passed by the scroll bar and we need to do singles click on the scroll bar to display values 11 and 12.
    Does someone have an answer for this issue ?
    Thank you by advance.
    Jérémy

    Thank you for your answer Michael.

  • Spark list horizontal scroller doesn't actualize when rows is set lesser than list container

    Hello,
    The size of the Image control is set larger than that of its parent Group  container. By default, the child extends past the boundaries of the parent  container. Rather than allow the child to extend past the boundaries of the  parent container, the Scroller specifies to clip the child to the boundaries and  display scroll bars.
    In the spark list, when I change the list dataProvider and the size of the Image control is set lesser than that of its parent Group  container, the horizontal scroller doesn't actualize.

  • Is it possible to use the scroll wheel of a mouse in list boxes?

    Hi,
    I was wondering if it is possible to use the scroll wheel in list boxes? LABview (6i under windows 98) does support the use in diagrams, for instance on case statements, but it does not appear to do much on the front panel apart from scrolling the whole thing up and down (and when pointing on the vertical scroll bar left and right).
    Is there a quick and easy way to get the scroll bar to work on list boxes, for instance by calling windows dll's? If so anyone ever done this?
    Any help will be greatly appreciated,
    Erik van Dijk

    Erik,
    Yes, it is possible. Anything is possible. LabVIEW is a programming language.
    However, the scope and ease of implementation may be beyond the amount of work you want to do. This must be accomplished through Windows API. This means the use of windows dlls and or Active X.
    Good luck.
    Also, try looking for toolkits. Someone out there supposedly has a toolkit for doing this sort of thing.

  • How scroll through a list of items in list box with code in C# winforms to create auto scrolling

    I am new to programming and I have been tasked to create a form to display information in list box controls on a big screen. The list boxes have to show all data by auto scrolling through all data row by row then start again at the top once it has displayed
    all data. Is there a way to do this automatically in code using a timer? I look all over the web and have not found any way to do this in win win forms. Is it possible?
    Thanks

    Here's the c# code
    using System;
    using System.Collections.Generic;
    using System.ComponentModel;
    using System.Data;
    using System.Drawing;
    using System.Text;
    using System.Windows.Forms;
    namespace WindowsApplication13
    public partial class Form1 : Form
    System.Timers.Timer timer = new System.Timers.Timer();
    int position = 0;
    public delegate void delegateUpdateListbox();
    public Form1()
    InitializeComponent();
    private void Form1_Load(object sender, EventArgs e)
    timer.Interval = 1000;
    timer.Enabled = true;
    timer.Elapsed += new System.Timers.ElapsedEventHandler(timer_Elapsed);
    void timer_Elapsed(object sender, System.Timers.ElapsedEventArgs e)
    position += 1;
    if (position == listBox1.Items.Count)
    position = 0;
    delegateUpdateListbox deleg = new delegateUpdateListbox(updateListbox);
    this.Invoke(deleg);
    void updateListbox()
    listBox1.SelectedIndex = position;
    As long as the listbox's SelectionMode is set to "One" (the default), you don't have to do anything to un-select the previous item.
    For your secnd question, the code inside the timer checks whether the position is the same as the length of the contents of the listbox and resets its value to zero, so that the selection will go back to the first item in the list.

    Hi Gelb,
    Glad to hear you've got it working
    I realised afterwards that my code will not work correctly if the last line is partially hidden, ie the list box does not display an exact number of lines. So I've added a +1 after the array size function to correct this, see attached vi.
    You'll notice that I read the NumRows property of the listbox - I've done this so that if you decide to change the listbox height the code will still work without you having to go in and change anything. In your code you would have to change the constant (currently a 7) before the comparison primative to the new height. Also, in my new vi I've assumed the listbox height isn't going to change during the time it gets populated so I've move the NumRows property out of the for loop and read it only once - saves a bit of time
    Using a for loop with auto indexing rather than a while loop also means that I don't need to index the input array every time or worry about when the loop will stop.
    Hope this all helps
    Dave
